No joy for bkj97 and me today. Lots of discarded bits of junk but no sign of the container. Searched a 20m radius without anything being found. Good exercise as we came up from below.
Only sneaked two attempts in today. Neither came up trumps. Went for coffee instead.
Well, by all accounts an easy find, backed up by the lack of DNFs, but despite 2 of us spending quite a while looking, we couldn't find the cache.
Nice views as promised, though.
Nice views as promised, though.
Well, we gave it a good go, but came up empty handed (first DNF after 70-odd finds, many saying how exposed the cache was when found). Hmmmm.
Fairly quick and easy find. The only muggle around was a Tui that was telling me quite a story while I signed the log. TFTC
Depends on where you start from depends on the terrain rating. We started at a nearby cache and the terrain was closer to a 3 with a MycroMan on my back. The cache was very exposed so signed log and hid it a little better. Thanks for the cache. Did with Wandering Dragons, Violet Butterfly and Mycroman
Cache #506 - quite a climb up from the previous cache. Probably easier if you start in a different location. Did today with Violet Butterfly, Mycroman and Crystal Fairy. TNLNSL. TFTC!
Found today with Wandering Dragons, Mycroman and Crystal Fairy. Great views, but hard work to get there! TFTC!
Found while walking around the area. Cache dry but no coins or TB's in cache. TFTC.
Bit of a climb to get here but good view to look at on the way. Think I have passed thru here years ago when trying to get fit for tramping. Thanks for bringing me back. easyish find with no muggles in sight. TFTC
TFTC. Great views!

[blue]Walked up the hill and enjoyed the view.
A quick dive into the bush and there it was.

First cache! Nice little walk on a windy Wellington day. Great view, fun bubbles. Thanks for taking me down a path I hadn't been down before

Took me ages to find it - wasn't sure I had the right place. But find it, I did. The lady having a picnic near the cache must have thought me a bit strange.
Quick find once we convinced the well-meaning muggle we weren't lost. (We were waiting for him to leave so we could search). We were able to spend time admiring the view while waiting. He finally left and we were able to locate soon after. NINO TFTC
Bit of a walk to get there but an easy find once there.

Stunning cloudless views from here today.... and no wind. Hard to believe it really is Wellington! TFTC
Found it pretty quickly, also noticed the note from the muggle. I always enjoy reading what they write when they come accross caches.

Found quite exposed with a pleasant note from a workman muggle who must have been labouring in the area recently. TFTC
I took the wrong way to this one, definately not T1.5 if you come up from the bottom of the hill. Found easily enough, spent a bit of time covering it up a bit more. SL TFTC
Thought I had logged this, but seems not to have gone through.
Done after finding the new cache nearby.
I attempted this a long time ago in a hurried lunchtime visit when it first came out, with an inferior GPS and less caching experience so not surprisingly I didn't find it then.
Didn't take too long to find this time, but I had to work hard to put down adequate cover when I returned it, hoping I succeeded in view of the previous log. (Fozzie had done an excellent job of covering it properly.)
Glad to be able to put 11/1/11 in another log, only had time for these two today.
When I arrived near GZ there was a muggle sitting at the top of the hill but he was looking over the city and completely absorbed in listening to his Ipod or whatever. As he could not see my activities at GZ and was taking absolutely no notice of me anyway I felt quite safe in searching for, retrieving and returning the cache, in fact I took great delight in doing it behind his back unnoticed, would have made a good comedy film!

Happy new year! First cache in ages, thanks to themightykumera for rekindling my interest
I had no joy looking for this cache a few months ago, having to keep my search short due to a muggle being not far away from GZ. Today I had the place to myself, but I found the cache immediately anyhow.
Yay, found it very quickly. Bit damp under foot but cache was nice and snug and dry.

Great view. Dropped off Symbi, the Symbology Geocoin that came from the other side of the world:) TFTC.
After quite a scrabble, found this with E south and C south. Left TB, batman, British coin, took soft bear, whistle. Also found the supposedly "lost" cache nearby on this site, in the exact location it was in, in 2009! Think DNFs had not read re updated location, and note the lost cache is 40-50cms from the target trunk. Think old coords may be off too... Read the hint.
No longer a geocache virgin! Found it, a butterfly and a note in the book which read- found this by accident while looking for a tree to climb! Lovely walk, found parts of Wellies I hadn't been to before.
Fairly quick find in the beautiful afternoon sunlight. Two rosellas flying past helped mark the spot of the cache. Tuis bountiful feasting on the flowering gums. TNLN TFTC
No trouble finding this one. Had more trouble finding where to park.
Swapped a pet rock -a owl & a little phone charm, for a snoopy charm. (love that dog)

A great spot and good to see this cache location kept going. A number of years since my last visit, which was for the original one.

Arrived at the same time as huhugrub, we found the cache together. A lot quicker finding this version than it took to find the original one. TNLN SL TFTC
#1344. boxhill arrived just as we were about to set off to go up the hill. Nice walk to GZ, and boxhill made the find easily. Good views today, and certainly a lot drier than in recent days.

Knew from watching cricket how to get here...it was very very wet....actually inches of water lieing on the field today...only fools out were us doomed to get to 1000 today..it was our mission and this was a cool cache to find in our goal for today...nice view on way up even on a pretty foul Wellington day..swapped GCs
Left the Mighty Kong and Little Spielwolf to explore the wilds of Brooklyn and Mount Cook ...
Pleased I didn't complete this on Monday night in the driving rain. Quick find today with geodog Cola, who provided a distraction until a meditating muggle departed.

Stopped by with yeetrees for a quick lunchtime find today. A pleasant wee walk down from the top. I never got around to finding the original version of this cache before it went AWOL, so enjoyed my first visit to this spot.

Found with -gonefishing- on a lunchtime venture around the city to clean up a few new caches, found quickly without too much issues. TFTC TNLNSL (1918)
Walked up from the bottom on a nice Sunday morning. The views up here were fantastic today but for us the excitement was also nabbing an unexpected FTF and finding all the neat stuff inside. Was pleasantly surprised to find a mini keyholder magnet in the cache, which we took. Hmm... Now wondering where this future micro cache might end up... . Left a small soft toy bear. Many thanks JamesNZ for the cache.
3TF. Went for a walk from home this morning to hunt out this one - thought there might be a possibility of a FTF as it hadn't been logged when I left home but no such luck. Ya gotta be in real fast if you want that! Had the pleasure of meeting the Maori Treehouse team who were also hunting round at the cache site - good to chat to you both! A fairly quick find by MT who where the first to spot it while I was looking a couple of metres away, and great to see a cache in action again at this rather nice spot. Signed log, TFTC!
2TF. Trekked up the hill from Newtown this morning - loved the view! AGCNZ arrived at the same time so we banded together for the hunt. Nice to meet you! TFTC
