Looks like it has been muggled again, time to archive this one.

No luck here today, the obvious stump was empty and it looked like the railing may have been replaced. Alas, maybe it was there and I am blind!

I was in the area so decided to do some cache check and much to my dismay this one has gone AWOL. This is the second time, I will consider whether to replace it or archive it in the next few days.

17-Oct-11
Found on our way around Oz. Thanks for the cache.

15-Oct-11
This one was a quick find, but a difficult one to open - I broke a nail trying to get the container to open! That should have been a warning for me about the weekend caching, my fingernails fared quite badly!

Thanks roger, for a more unusual view Smile.

15-Oct-11
The last time I was here was in January with my son Garks, and we had the unhappy duty to report the cache muggled. I returned last night with Toriaz and found this easily in the dark on our way to Mount Wilson. Thanks

A nice quick find in the rain. It is an interesting view, I wonder what they are planning for this area? TFTC.

31-Jul-11
Walked from nearby cache after parking car in between. It is a cache you can drive right up to if you wanted though. Lookout for Rubbish dumping muggles though (as we encountered!) TFTC

31-Jan-11
I'll admit we barely looked for the cache here. We found some rocks right where the GPS was showing GZ, and after a quick look decided it might have been muggled. The rubbish in the area shows it does get visited. I'll email the owner a photo if I can. Anyway, a very different Roger cache, with quite amazing cuttings to look into. Thanks

31-Jan-11
We didn't find this one, and we saw an obvious spot where we thought it should be, so I think that it's muggled. TFTC

26-Jan-11
Out for a day of 4x4ing with the Dawg and SherpaNT, and what a day it was.
Obviously we found some caches along the way which made the day even more memorable.
Interesting views, a bit different from a lot of other of your caches I've found
Thanks For The Cache Roger

We found VIEW3-44 Tracks (GC28HK7) on a Lithgow trip to find some local caches and do some 4x4'ing with HomeDG and SherpaNT, my 6th of 16 finds and my 1470th overall find. Great view of the Railway from here. Parked on top of this one !!! TNLNSL. Thanks for the cache, rogerw3. Deputy D0g.

Been along time since I was down here. Remember going on a tour of the mine site we parked at the top and were taken via bus down to the head for a guided tour. Looks like the top area is a local dumping ground for cars now. Kids are always on the lookout for trains but no luck today. JABs Kid 1 bumped her head as she stood up.
JABs.

On the way home from a picnic today I remembered I had packed a TB that we had been holding for a while, this cache looked fun for the geoboy, and a quick find. So it was - geoboy liked being over the tracks and once I looked in the right direction it was an obvious hiding spot.TFTC

Is this a case of crossing your bridges when you come to them...just might be. No trains in the time I was there today

06-Nov-10
Found this cache at 3pm while in the Katoomba area for a vintage car weekend and to do some caching as we are driving around the area in the Rain and wind and fogg (great Joy).
What an amazing place you have taken us to (would not have seen otherwise). The amount of sandstone cutting and blasting that would have gone on many years ago . We were able to spot 2 trains travelling thru. One --Electric passenger the other goods train. We were just like kids in the old days. " ä train!! , a train !!, quick or we will miss it" bought back many memories.
Took: daffodil keyring. Left: 2 bells.
Thanks Rogerw3 for taking us there.
The Bushies.

On the way to the three sisters. We have been on the day out with Thomas on the Zig-Zag.
Very beautiful location.

Littlebub and I drove over both bridges and parked right over the other side of the tracks. The gate was unlocked and open as the local fire brigade were doing some practice putting out car fires. We spotted at least three old car bodies from previous practice sessions.
Anyway,- back to the cache. Argeisia is on fire today!! (No pun intended, heh heh) found and logged before Littlebub even finished taking her photos!! Took GC.

05-Sep-10
I parked the geomobile a little way away from GZ as I had a trailer in tow and needed a turning circle, otherwise this cache certainly was a "drive by". Practically lean out of the car and nab it (as long as you had long arms Wink
The cutting was most interesting with the coal mine a little way away. Thanks for the geography lesson.
'Took some photos as the sun disappeared behind the clouds for the last time today.
Yes this one was somewhat different to the traditional Rogerw3 caches but most certainly enjoyable nevertheless...as one would expect.
Well done !!

Good quick drive by cache on our way for a pub meal. tftc

21-Aug-10
This was a slightly different rogerw3 cache, with views of a unique kind! I really enjoyed the disused tracks in the old cutting, and took some photos. Parking is easy and convenient right at GZ, and no-one else was around on a sunny but blustery Saturday afternoon in mid winter.

Cache placement was also a bit different from rogerw3's usual places, but not difficult. Published coordinates were very accurate. Cache container and contents were fine.

TNLNSL.

Thanks again, rogerw3!

Out for a spot of caching on a sunny winters afternoon.
Had to wait until a fireman muggle left the area before
we could make our move to recover the cache and sign
the log.

No trouble finding this one. Had seen this access road before but never stopped and had a look.
No trains at this time of day so I was on my way again.

This is certainly a different concept on the previous view series that I have done, and a drive by too. Which I must say come in handy today. A vehicle with occupants was parked on the western side of the line so with good parking I blocked their view so I could take in the view.
Thanks

We arrived at the Gz, got out of the car and started to walk across the bridge and low and behold a coal train come roaring through. Great spot. Cache easily found. TFTH...SL....TNLN

On our way up to lithgow to take in a few more View caches, afterall, this is what one does when one goes to Lithgow.

A quick stop in here and the wind was rather biting as it blew up the cutting making some of the kids not want to get out of the car. I whipped out a can of Harden the hell up and they were all good. Cache was an easy find. Dropped off a trackable.

The number of times I have walked out of this place after doing the canyon here, there is so much more rail infrastructure further in that is quite interesting, though, last time years ago I was here, it looked like they were tearing everything out. Right down in the valley they have concreted the entire creek bed for hundreds of metres, the bridge used to wash away a little too regularly I am told. I also had a nasty run in with a barb wire fence here, the fence came off way better than I did!!

Cheers

A nice walk from Bell station to find this cache. After a scout around finally found it at 13:20. There is a great walk in this area down to the mine infrastructure and up a dry gorge. Now for the next cache across the road. Had no swaps today so just signed the log.

18-May-10
We just happened to be checking our emails when notification of this cache and another Rogerw3 cache had just been published. Given that there had also been some other nearby listings which we knew at least one of which had been found we thought we would give these ones a go.
Anyhow back to the cache, we arrived at GZ just as an empty coal train was passing under the bridge, so our search was delayed until the train had passed then after a quick look there it was. The log was quickly located revealing a blank page.
Thanks for the cache and thanks for the FTF too.
TNLN
PS this is a train spotter’s paradise here and you often see buffs on the bridge for special events.
