Up in the donga, searching, spotting and signing cache logs with Purrfect Di, Jack, and the Froghoppin Duo, using some or all of the resources of GSAK (Geocaching Swiss Army Knife), Whereyougo, Garmin Montana 750i, Montana 680t, Etrex 35, Samsung S21u, Samsung S9, with Geocaching App, c:Geo, or Geooh Go, and Android Auto and other maps... or often with just plain old dumb luck WinkCoolBig Grin Plenty of that luck stuff actually !!!

*Logs are composed and published with love using GSAK of course.*

Caching is a very hazardous activity!
Watch out for sand traps, snakes, surprise cliffs, boxing roos, wombats, things falling from trees, bulldust, and floods, and sharp rocks in your tyres Surprised
try not to get tetanus from rusty mint tins and don't fall off your ladder...
-- -- -- -- -- -- -- but especially lookout for germs and bugs !!! . [xx(]

Make Travel Bugs the Only bugs you share and pass on Big Grin
Now that there are no real restrictions - even more important to sanitise and safely distance!!!

Heaps good of all those placing quality caches out and about around the countryside areas,
in sensible safe places especially! - it keeps our game safe, fun, and interesting Cool

Thanks so much for reading all this extra addition to the log word count! There's a challenge somewhere out there, apparently! You win a virtual smiley for the effort and getting to the end of the log Wink Maybe if I worked out where I could do it and go back to normal logs again !

Another day exploring some tracks around Arkaroola with Mattycat and Perfect DI, was a big day some challenging tracks and a lot of bouncing around, another stop and a welcome opportunity to stretch the legs, one of the more intact ruins looks like some animals are using it as a sanctuary from the elements, cache was a quick find for us today

After a chat with the ranger at Balcanoona, we decided to give the back track to Arkaroola a go as we were advised it should only take 2 to 3 hours drive, well 6 hours later we arrived in Arkaroola and this was a last minute change of plan to save time! It was an adventure and we stoppede to check out the station and find the cache. This seems to be popular pastime in this part of the world as many other including lots of muggles had signed the logbook.
Found with scouter 101
Thanks Mac & Missus

I started 2020 with some improbable caching goals that only lasted until mid February. Red Face
Then came Covid-19 and caching began to take a back seat. Twisted
But with restrictions easing and socially responsible caching again possible it is time to start filling the calendars again. Wink

Seven cachers set off in Four 4WD vehicles using satellites to search for caches in and around Arkaroola and the Gammon Ranges. [^] The Six day Arkaroola Odyssey had begun. Cool

DAY 1: Getting there: Razz
A quick find on the cache and then some fun exploring the ruins. Smile It appears if you don't close the doors properly the kangaroos just love to kip down inside. Surprised

***Thanks Mac & Missus for putting out this cache and maintaining it for our enjoyment. *** Big Grin

We have headed north for some serious 4WD in Arkaroola and the Gammons. Today is Tuesday and we are on the bull dust ridden road/track/trail/rock filled creek bed at Idninha. A quick find as we arrived. Some protection from the wind. It is eight degrees and the wind chill is lowering the temperature another five degrees. The ruins are a haven for kangaroos based on the amount of roo poo under the verandas. Thanks for placing a fun cache guys. We do love your work. We signed the logbook. Of course we did that is way we play this game. Cache in pretty good condition for the cache age.

Easter 2020 was supposed to see South Australia Geocaching hosting the next Easter big MEGA event, GeoVenture 2020 at Millicent. GC82DAN. Due to COVID restrictions the event is now postponed to early October 2021. Check out the event page and our website for new details. We would love to see you at this four day event. Mega event sponsored by Wattle Range Council, Geocaching.com and many other supporters. Lots of caches to find including two classic geo art trails including the famous animated bottle and glass.

This particular geocache was found using one of the following GPS enabled devices, Garmin GPSr, Montana 680t, Oregon 650 or Dakota 20 and a Samsung S8. Waypoints and paperless geocaching were downloaded via GSAK 9. Log prepared, checked and submitted using GSAK publish logs...

Warning, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to exercise, meeting new people and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Beware: you may have fun.

Away for a caching trip to the Arkaroola area.

A bit of 4 wheel driving, lot's of dust and for me 3 punctures. These cut my trip short by a couple of days.

A quick find on a cold morning.

Found on a fun 4WD trip in this spectacular landscape. Thanks for the cache.

Found during a caching trip to Arkaroola and the Vulkathunna-Gammon Ranges National Park in the northern Flinders Ranges with brisal5, e.gregory1, Freddo, Davidwazza, Jesswrigley and Team Waldron. Really enjoyed the spectacular landscapes, the 4WD tracks, and the walking and rock-climbing in the quest for some challenging caches in a remote region of the State. Thanks for the cache Mac & Missus!

The house verandah was all a bit too smelly or in the cold breeze for lunch stop. Headed back to Main water Well for lunch. There are some magnificent gums in the creek if you go for a walk in there.

Re-visited with several 4WD friends. Cache is in good condition. I was surprised I was the FTF this one some time ago. Lovely spot and well worth the visit. It's actually dead easy once you get out of the car. The track in at the moment is pretty smooth. tHANKS AGAIN mAC & mISSUS

Found with How Do They Know? during a break (a 4WDrive) on our Flinders Ranges working bee. Thanks Mac & Missus.

Thanks for bringing us to this interesting area. Although it was a warm day, it didn't take us long to find the cache.

We both love old ruins and initially thought that this one looked quite recent (abandoned early 70s at the latest, we guessed). Despite trying to research a bit further, I couldn’t find any other information on it (the link doesn’t take you to any specific site; just to a search results page).
The house isn’t long for this world, judging by the look of the outside structure.
Found the cache easily and in good condition. Thanks for bringing us here Ian. Nice road in and out Wink.

This would have been a very lovely building.
But live would have been hard out here especially
during drought conditions.

Joint Silver with e.gregory1 a year to the day after it was hidden. It has been 5 or 6 years since I was last here. The country is looking great after all the recent rains. TFTC

A pleasant drive to the area for a quick find with EsromL. I was last here in September 2010, but knew nothing about geocaching at that time. Thanks Mac & Missus for the cache.

FTF! Great track in and out. The grader has been through and 4WD access is relatively easy at the moment. The track is the back road in/out of Arkaroola and it pays to check with the Ranger at Arkaroola or Balcanoona HQ before travelling any of the back roads in the Gammon Ranges. I was with the owner on this trip and found with my new GPS with ease. Took a Fire Dept badge and left a finger puppet. TFTC and the great trip through the Flinder's and Gammon Ranges National Parks, Mac & Missus.TNLNSL
