I was heading home after attending the get together in Gympie yesterday and took the Mary Valley Highway to get a few caches.

I pulled into the car park and noticed that there was a muggle family playing. I strolled over to check out where GZ was and spotted the cache as it was a bit exposed. I checked over my shoulder and nabbed the cache and retreated back to the car to sign the log in the cool.

I then had to keep an eye on the muggles again as I replaced the cache. No problems.

Out for a day of caching on one of the hottest days of the year didn't seem like a perfect idea. But when you mix that with an event, an area you haven't cached before, an air conditioned car and some good friends, it doesn't seem so bad.

I was out with Fangsoki, Prime and Sweet_bee as we were heading north collecting caches on the way to the Gympie event. We pulled up at this park and started fossicking about for the cache. Prime decided to check further away and sure enough there was the poorly hidden cache. We signed the logbook and replaced a little more discreetly which was hide in this case. Thanks for the cache landylovers

Sweet_bee, Pprime, Net88, and I pulled up for this one next. We decided where GZ was and parked accordingly so we wouldn't look incredibly sus. But it wasn't in the first place we looked. But it was in the second.

Pprime had hunted down the beast and we signed the log. It was in good condition. TFTC landylovers Smile

Out for a trip to Gympie today, with Fangsoki in command of the mighty Mondeo, Sweet_Bee and net88 in the company, and we picked up 'a couple' along the way. Into Kandanga we traveled on the hottest day in recent memory, but local pool was closed. I guess it was still early - but it did make cache hunting a tad simpler and a container was quickly in hand.

Thanks for placing this cache, landylovers. Found in good condition.

The folks live just down the road at Imbil and we are up here after Christmas visiting. Perfect opportunity to grab some caches in the surrounding area. Ironic that at a landylovers cache a yellow Deefa drove by just as we were signing. Was it them ? Hehehe. Thanks for the cache landylovers Smile

Took a drive this morning to find a few caches and explore the area a bit more while attending the Hobson's Trail Event near Imbil. This was our first of the day and what a great location. We can see that Kadanga is an RV Friendly town and loved the camping area here. Would love to come back some time. Thanks for placing the cache here landylovers. [^][^]

I stopped for a quick play & splash today,
But my cache searching went quite astray Red Face
So convinced was I it was there,
That I searched it until I was spare [:o]
I realised finally that it was the wrong place,
And in another spot, finally found this cache Big Grin

Well hidden! We took note of the free camping area across the road. Much nicer than the packed state forest camp ground we stayed in! Thanks landylovers

There was a 'car club' on an outing so too busy to look. We'll be back.

24-Feb-13
In Kandanga for some fun caching action with Nyssaflutterby and membsec and this was the next stop for us. Hmm.. cache near a playground and sure enough, there were kids here. We waited until they moved on before commencing our hunt. Four sets of eyes hit the obvious features and the cache was soon found albeit central to an ants nest. It was flicked out and de-anted before the logbook could be signed. All done and replaced as found - no other option really. TFTC landylovers Smile

24-Feb-13
This cache was part of our post- Forest Challenge caching today. Nyssaflutterby, Captain Terror and ourselves completed an epic day of caching with some great views, brilliant 4WD driving and great company - a most enjoyable day. Round and about here until the find. Now a lunch break!!!

After waiting for a few muggle children to vacate the area membsec, Captain Terror and myself got down to the hunt. I looked in one spot but obviously not well enough, so a look here and a look there and then I found myself searching this spot again. A deeper dig soon had the cache in hand, but not before I had munched on a few ant eggs!!! EEwwww!!!!!

TFTC and a bit of a snack landylovers Big Grin

We were camping at Cedar Grove, and decided to find some nearby caches. Fortunately, this was an easy one (but well hidden).

Navigated by JR (kid #1) and found by the Mum in the family. While here, we also off-loaded some of our rubbish. (Not into the cache Smile) The cache sill seems to be well liked by the ants.

At the ARC with T-Tech.

Headed up to Kandanga to collect the few in the township with our young friend Jordan. She loved the park Smile Found the hiding spot easily enough, but needed lots of stealth to get this one as some muggles and their dogs had set up for lunch nearby. TFTC, landylovers.

Nice quick and easy find. Log book was completely soaked and cache was full of ants. We cleaned it out, gave it a new log and bag... and shouted the container a bag as well to try and keep the ants out. There were a few campers that kept coming to use the facilities while we were there. Thanks for the hunt landylovers Big Grin

What was suppose to be a quick find and leave turned into a half hour stop over as local amenities cleaner decide to stop and chat as we sat at nearby table to sign the log

Several people from the Motor Homes camped opposite also wandered over to have a chat

Nice spot to relax anyway as not in a rush

869 - This cache wasn't in town the last time we were here so it was a pleasant surprise when we realised there was another in town after we found the one at the station just down the road. As I grabbed some ice and gas from the shop in the main street, Brissy Guy Junior went for a stroll to pick it up and found it in good condition at 3:17pm. Thanks again Landylovers.

Staying across the road in Motorhome rest area - a quick easy find despite the recent torrential rain that made the hide a bit more difficult. Logged, cleaned cache up a bit and replaced. TFTC

Quick find in a neat little niche in the early morning on my way to a workshop near Tiaro. Got about 15 mins north of Gympie and realised I didn't have my GPS with me ... oh no, Wandering Wits had left it on the bonnet of the car in Kandanga... quick and anxious phone call to the Kandanga Snack Bar resulted in happy news, so it was back to the Snack Bar for dinner that evening on the way home ... TFTC landylovers.
