I was early for Gorby's CITO so I thought I'd find a couple of caches first. I came down the track and saw a way down the bank. Part way down I thought I saw the hint object, so made my way across. I used a stick to poke in lots of places but didn't find anything. Then I spotted another better hint object and just as I was about to make my way down I saw something on the ground with the magic word on it "Geocache". I managed to get that far down and found the cache. As others have said it is more rust than eclipse tin now, so parts of it fell off. After signing the log I jammed it back in place in the host so that hopefully it doesn't fall down again.
Went high, went low. Took around 5 mins of hunting to find the cache. Very windy here today, but all OK. Geoboy is an arachniphobe and I had to crawl in to get the log and make the sign. Tftc
This one was a bit more vegetative than expected lol. Went into the track having gone there once before, thinking it would be a straightforward find. However as I followed the GPS and slight geotrail to get onto a hint item, increasing amounts of twigs were battled. Ended up on all fours, so luckily it was a day day and I had shorts on. A very rusty container, but still holding on! All is well. Ng mihi, TFTC
Satisfying find after no hits on this one for 18 months.
Certainly got a bit muddy taking an alternative route down then back up.
Log book was remarkably dry considering everything 2023, tin holding up but 95% rust and lidless these days

Found it - some ?baby birds living the the bank spent the whole time angrily hissing at me the whole time so was happy to be done
I had a some freedom for the whole week! As this was a rare occasion, Keylev and NZTravellers thought it would be fantastic opportunity to do weekday caching! So this is a start of the week when we all went wild! TFTC
There was some ducking and diving but an easy find for NZT.

As luck would have it NZTravellers, B4Dawn and I realised that all our other work and social commitments aligned to give us some free time this week so what better way to put this to use then some afternoon / evening / night caching the WHOLE week!!! This is day 1 so we were all refreshed and raring to go...wonder what we will be like by friday ha ha
Took us a few moments to find the correct spot as GPS was a little jumpy...B4Dawn got there though.
Thanks for the cache.

Lucky last for the evening, off to Bunnings for some 'essentials' next. I had a look for this on the first pass but failed and headed to wander across some mud. On the way back I again checked all the same things, then noted an out on a limb type hint item. Did not need to go out on a limb but spotted the cache and added my name to the list. Cheers ishoot for the fun and cache.
A long hot day, again, and Auckland is pumping those Summer temperatures along with the unwelcome humidity. I was keen to avoid the heat, and traffic, of the main day and left coming out until this evening when time and tide waited for me, and I was able to get the last 4 (known) caches on the Te Atatu peninsula. (Never know if some of those gaps hold unsolved puzzle cache finals!). Nice and quiet out and about and managed to not get eaten alive by flying teeth insects, which was nice. Thanks to all COs.

This one took longer than expected, I went too far down and almost couldn't make it back up again... Eventually found the cache, missing lid but still in good condition. TFTC
Thanks ishoot for the cache. It’s #1298 for us. We found your cache on 4 July 2020. Nice hide well off beaten track.
Should have read description before I went so I didn’t attempt in Jandals while carting my morning coffee!! Quick find once on site
Find number 6211. I had intentions of coming up to Te Atatu last Friday but the possibility of 12 FTF got in the way. So today it was. In order to not get caught in the traffic on the Southern motorway I left Hamilton at 4 am. Flew through and arrived just as the sun was rising. A couple of caches before breakfast. Then it was a day on the bike clearing as many as possible in the area (56) before enjoying Fish n Chips while waiting for the evening traffic jam to pass. Finally getting home at 9 pm. Tired but happy with my day.
As I made my way to GZ I spotted something which turned out to be the cache. Thankfully I was able to retrieve without getting into any trouble. Thank you for the placement.

Down in Auckland for a few hours this avo and while the other half visited a sick friend, I headed out for an exercise jaunt around the trails and streets of Te Atatu, with the intention to also find as many caches on the way as possible.
Murphy's Law though, the very first path I headed down towards here, I was followed by some muggles walking their dog. This necessitated a little extra distance jogged, before turning around and getting back to a muggle free GZ. Luckily there was something that stood out, so the cache was a nice quick find. Signed the log and then replaced safe and secure as found. TFTC

Out in the Te Atatu area finding some more caches to make up the required numbers for Mystery at the Museum. Looked in the wrong tree at first. Thanks ishoot.
Found 10.05am
Had to be careful getting this cache. Ground under foot very slippery and didn't want to go into the water. Lid has come off cache container. SLTFTC

Collecting some more caches in Te Atatu this afternoon and stopped off here to make another find.Started off with the wrong tree trunk but didn’t take us long before we found the right one.
With part of Team BOP - (Mr) Davidson clan, McJandals, and NZFlossy... All logs were signed RoT - Rotorua or Tauranga. We have been planning this mini raid of Auckland for a short time. We have discovered that we need a small push to kick onto our next milestone. Hopefully, this weekend's haul of caches will bring us a little closer...
We decided to focus much of our attention on Te Atatu this weekend. The sheer number of caches, the walkability factor, and the rumor of some high quality caches sounded appealing... We also agreed to stay together on the trail rather than split up - This proved to be a good idea considering the reputation and hiding prowess of the COs in this area. Four pairs of eyes didn't miss much...
We are not at all surprised that this was once a landfill. Typically, a lot of the rubbish would have ended up in the sea - a problem that has reached crisis point today... It's always a worry when the log before was a DNF. But four pairs of eyes had this sorted quickly. Thanks ishoot and TFTC.

In Auckland for a weekend of caching with Squirrel nutcase McJandals and Nzflossy. Signed Team RoT.

On a road trip with part of Team BOP which includes myself, NZ Flossy, Squirrel Nutcase and Davidson Clan. To save room we have signed ROT and I am logging using the Cachly app template so please excuse generic logging along the way. It’s just my way of keeping track, but I do genuinely thank each and every one of you cache owners for taking the time and energy to place these caches. Many Thanks for bringing us here. Cheers
On an Auckland adventure with three other BOP cachers. An early start with lots of fun and a night in the big smoke. I don’t venture up here very often but we were on a mission. Thanks to the COs for some great caches Signed as Team ROTTFTC
1:15 PM Had a good search around the hint item but found nothing.

TFTC. Nice cache. Added an extra log and plastic bag as well as new lid, although placed so still blends in.
A reasonably quick find here thanks to the hint. Definitely a bit slippery here today after the recent rain. We added a new waterproof log and plastic bag here as the current log was a pulpy mess. The container had no lid and was going rusty - it may need replacing soon. Found with darthcacher1 and purply.
Friday caching in Te Atatu Peninsula. My third visit to the area. Always pleasure to back. Found several caches on my way. This hide was one of them.
Hint helps a lot here. TFTC

My eight months stay in New Zealand is nearly over so I wanted to do one more big Geocaching tour in this great country! I asked thegreatauk wether he is interested in a big day trip - and of course he was. So we chose this day and made our way to Te Atatu Peninsula with our rental car.
We were a bit worried about the weather, but fortunately we only saw the dark clouds but just had a few drops and no strong rain.
Most of the Caches were easy to find for us, we only had a very few number of DNF's, so we reached our goal of 40 Caches without problems. Probably we also would have reached the fifty if we would not have had a flat battery… However,we enjoyed a great day with a lot of nice Caches!
----------
Once we reached the Right place it was an easy spot on!

Thanks for hiding!

Very muddy, very slippy. Log soaked. Container lost its lid. But anyway, thanks for the cache.
With the Hidden Creatures Souvenirs ending soon, and not much of a tally to my name so far one big push was going to be needed to get over the line. Cats&Dragons was is a similar boat, so after a quick scout of the maps Te Atutu, and the nearby motorway cycleway looked like just the ticket to get us both the numbers we needed.
A early start of 3am (this is getting more and more regular) from hamilton saw us starting the hunt just before 5am. The weather wasn't playing along at first as we had drizzle for the first hour or so, but it cleared up once the sun came up and stayed away right up to the point we headed for home. It turned out to be a very successful day with more than enough found to uncover all the Hidden Creatures.
We found a great varity of caches over the day, with some really great hides as well as one or two that were too good for us, or muggles had got them. I'll mention a few here and there that were extra memorable as I get to them, but unfortunetly I only have time for a cut and paste log for most. However a huge thanks to the CO's as the quality of caches were very high.

Luckily we found this (thanks to the hint) after a short search...cause we weren't too keen on hanging round GZ much longer, without the benefit of some strong mossie repellant! Nice camo, but needs a new top, as it's letting in moisture.

Tftc
Watch out for the attack of the mossie squad here! Quick find by Bertie Blowfish once we were on the right track. Then a hasty retreat! Zzz zzZz swat!
I hope they just did not dump everything into the ocean here! Team Gernita came up with the cache quite quickly
GPS took us directly to GZ nice quick find with Beconaze on our day out trying to clear the peninsular TFTC
This time of year, the difficulty is a bit higher. After signing the log, I had a bit of trouble getting out since the bank was so slippery. TFTC.
Our last geocache for today before we headed home. Took a wee while to find this one as I initially got captivated by a similar sounding hint item. Once I expanded my search circle a little bit I saw another matching item and so jumped over there to resume the search.
After a quick search I found the cache - rust has taken its toll on the lid but other than that everything is good as the log is nice contained in a good quality ziplock bag. Can't quite make out what the camo was supposed to be as time has taken its toll. Interesting spot, thanks for placing this cache here.

Out today making the most of the nice weather and trying to fill in Te Atatu Peninsula with all smileys. I had to wait out a few muggles cycling and walking past, but it still took awhile to narrow down the right location. Great camo for the cache container.
Was quite surprised that it was a gravel walkway but was happy as it allowed me to get to the cache easier with no chance of slipping today (: thanks for a quick find
Had been working in the area and now heading home and needed a cache of the day to continue our streak. Saw this was one that I hadn't found yet so make a detour.
Lucky to find a park at the end of the road to make a very short walk to GZ.
Spotted cache from along way away as it was placed with the geocache sticker face up. Signed log and returned with sticker facing down and added some natural nearby Camo.
Lid is missing from the mint tin however paper is dry.

#150 Out and about in Te Atatu. Geodad and Geokids trying to set a daily record. Third cache of the day, and time for one by the river. Rain was coming down with nobody to be seen. GPS lead to the right area and clues led us a little astray until I move further down the slippery slope. Joking about falling in the river, the cache came into view. Log signed and replaced, into a similar position but under some cover to keep it a little drier.

Yes... it was slippery to get to.... but therefore an advincha for my geo-companions.TFTC
Pretty wet and slippery today so good to be able to use magdajh ' sticks. Nice camo. TFTC
An interesting little spot. It was muddy so I enjoyed slipping down the slope. Kiwivet and I took one of Magdajh's Nordic sticks each to support our slide. Took the kind of semi-path down and ducked under branches to go to GZ. Pretty quick find once I got to the right spot. No lid though, so it looks like it might get soggy easily. Went back up the straight way to the path - far less slippery, though I did feel cool 'cos I got to use my upper body strength. Then tried to act like I'd dropped the stick into the water. But no, it was too long and Magdajh could see it behind my back! tftc
Second find of the day, didn't sign the logbook on this one (dropped my pen into the water).
Kiwiscot clan & friend spending the afternoon caching around the lovely Te Atatu Peninsula. Lucky with the weather. Warm and no rain. Just some wind to deal with. Quick find once we zeroed in on ground zone. TFTC
I actually found this on the 24th of Nov with my BF judgey214...finally got my own account Thank you for the cache....was a good one!
No geocaching for me this weekend as my mum is over for a visit. Oh dear, I just can't help myself ... I might not have gps, but I have phone with data and surely mum can manage to walk dogs with me a little bit fuurrrtther. Couldn't sign as cache as it's in need of urgent attention and maintanence. Thanks for bringing us here.
#730. Finding parking was a mission. Had to head back uphill and park some distance along the road. The public path was located despite various signs nearby suggesting its a private enclave. Soon spied some hint objects but the first one was a red herring. But the second had the jackpot. A nicely disguised cache but alas no lid was present and the log was mush. So put in a new logsheet inside a ziplock plastic bag. Interesting views of the Waitemata Harbour. No sign of what went into the landfill luckily. TFTC
Found in vicinity of where we expected but was somewhat in the open. Missing its lid so open to the weather
A bit off track making it a bit slippery in the rain but found it quickly without doing backward flips. This one seems to be lacking a bit of TLC.
Followed the geo trails to GZ, Found cache easily enough. Lid was Missing but with the bit of searching I found and replaced it.
It took a few minutes but I got there in the end. I'm glad it wasn't raining, that path looks like it could be quite slippery! The lid is loose and just sits on the tin so the log was a little damp, it could maybe do with a little TLC
First geocache find. Really good hiding spot!! Dog lost his ball in the water haha
Nice camo I saw it and keeped looking then back to double check nice gps a bit funny down there. Tftc
I love the camo, at first glance I thought it might have been a dead black bird! But no it was safe to touch.
Nice easy find, grew up in the area so remember when that whole beautiful walkway was a tip. Have put a piece of notebook paper in as a temporary log.:-0
Both GZ and the hide were a whole lot nicer than expected from reading the description. Pretty dry underfoot though really windy. We had walked over from the rowing club so didn't see the sign until we left and don't get the benefit of the pictures in the description when offline... NINO TFTC
GPS a bit off so used the clue. Nice and dry today! New log needed please, tftc.
