Sadly the cache has gone and due to changes in the area will not be replaced.

We have had this puzzle solve for ages, so dropped by today for a look. I must admit, we were’nt feeling confident with so many DNF’s as well as being an Ozcrawf hide Razz.
Once at GZ, we found that there had been quite a bit of recent pruning of the area. We rummaged around for a good half hour, but didn’t find anything that resembled a cache Sad
After being unsighted for two and a half years and the new pruning at GZ, i think this cache could do with a check!
Thanks anyway Ozcrawf Smile

DNF for me again ..

04-Aug-17
I solved this puzzle in Adelaide prior to my trip to WA. However, after a fairly extensive search today (too embarrassing to say how long - I don't give up easily!), I finally had to give up.

I have re-read the cache page this evening, saw the 1-star terrain rating, and suddenly realised that I may have been making it a bit harder for myself than I needed to. I may return! Either way, thanks Ozcrawf for the puzzle.

31-Aug-16
I got so close to this one but muggles decided to throw in a line so looks like another time Sad

My cousin lives a stones throw SE of here so thought while visiting her I would have a go. Maybe I should have tried earlier when it was raining but I had to go out for lunch with cousin & Uncle Smile

17-Apr-16
And a DNF for us too. From the content of the puzzle we were pretty sure we knew what we were looking for, but maybe we were wrong. Thanks for the interesting puzzle Ozcrawf.

05-Dec-15
We attempted a second mission here - this time with an extra set of eyes. However, we were unable to locate this cache. Looking forward to finding out that it is actually still in place.

26-Nov-15
I was delighted to solve this one! And very proud of myself as my research took me to the state library! So, with the coords in hand, I made my way to GZ after work. I knew it might not be an easy hunt considering all the DNFs. Unfortunately, it was not easy at all which is a little frustrating. All that effort in solving the puzzle should be rewarded with a find. As this is quite far off my usual commute, I'll have to come back one weekend with the car and family in tow.

18-May-15
Out for a lunch time caching run with dannee44 so we headed up here to grab a couple.
This is my third hunt here and with an inside scoop on what I was looking for, I thought I might be in with a chance.
And I was hoping a second set of eyes would help but no joy.
Think I'll put this on watch and wait for a finder, or the CO to confirm its there.

18-May-15
After a couple of DNF's on this cache I decided to stop by and check on it. My heart sank on arrival as it looked like some vegetation maintenance had taken place near GZ. At first i wasn't able to check on the cache as there was a muggle on their phone nearby so I bided my time and they must have hit their uncomfortable stranger nearby threshold as they soon walked off to continue their conversation. I then commenced my search for the cache. I must admit it took some time but I eventually found the cache safe and sound, although judging by the degraded state of its hiding spot there's a high possibility it could be accidentally removed. So yes the cache is there, just tricky to find even when you know where it is!

19-Feb-15
After another 30 minutes the two of us searching from jetty to junction and both sides of path no cache was found , this is attempt 5 or 6!!

31-Jan-15
This log will be very similar to richlink's. We contacted the CO who very kindly gave us the help we needed. We returned to the scene today and found an area we had not searched thoroughly ( 3 more bottles as evidence) and were very pleased to find it in a not so hard spot. TFTC and puzzle. Now for the next one.

24-Jan-15
Looks like we are joining the ranks of those who need more than one visit to find this. We searched diligently for an hour and I even have a blister on my hand from poking around with a stick. Picked up 2 bags of old bottles etc hidden in the undergrowth, but found no cache. Once again, enjoyed solving the puzzle with its twist, but found the final too difficult.

01-Dec-14
After contacting the CO about our gz, we were encouraged to do a more thorough check of the area we had been concentrating on. Although this cache wasn't on our planned schedule for today, we decided to make a detour on way home south as we wouldn't otherwise have the opportunity for a search till the New Year. The geo-schnauze4rs enjoyed the walk to gz - plenty to sniff along the way. We searched the same area today as for our previous visit but today after moving a bit of vegetation it was there smiling right back at us - how does that happen? Thanks Ozcrawf

28-Nov-14
On the way to work, i decided to detour and get my morning caching fix. And the longer days mean it's actually light Smile

Have had this solved for a while so after finding a nearby puzzle, I continued on to here. Maybe I shouldn't. 30 minutes later and start time approaching, I gave up. Sad

Maybe the CO could be feeling generous with a hint Red Face

Ozcrawf I had to DNF your cache Flora of the Perth Region on 28/11/2014 6:38 am. I searched but didn't find the cache

16-Nov-14
Had the puzzle solved for a while now but first opportunity to check out gz. Encouraged by the CO's recent note we hoped to make a find but it was not to be. Checked area within 6 mts either side of our gz
but no luck. Thanks Ozcrawf

12-Oct-14
I was in the area to do a new earth cache and stopped by to check on the cache. Some pruning has been done at GZ making the cache much easier to access. All good.

a nice find this morning.puzzle solved last night. TFTC

This place has completely changed since I first visited. Amazing to see the growth of the vegetation. We had to put up with a few muggles but when they left we spent a bit more time at GZ. And so it was that we had another failed attempt at this cache.

05-Apr-14
Yet another DNF here. At least I got some good pictures of the sunset...

19-Feb-14
I needed help to solve the puzzle and I also needed help and 3 visits to locate the cache. In the hours it's taken me to locate this cache you have found 50 of my caches. And still there's a nutty tail! Such is the uniqueness of this game. I have always loved this stretch of river and since MDV moved north last year I am blessed to visit it even more often. This morning I rode from Tonkin Highway along the river through to work in Claremont; despite my general preference for road riding, Perth certainly has some lovely paths for more leisurely cycling. Pleased to see this cache get a 2014 find; hopefully some others will persevere to enjoy similar success. Also, I hope someone continues to showcase the southern side of the river with some more hides. Thanks for the cache Ozcrawf; it's still in great condition and there's plenty of spaces left on the log.

At last!!! Big Grin
After waiting ages for the road works to finish, and then after 3 fruitless attempts, the lost has been found!! Have enjoyed the stroll along this section of the river though, so it certainly was no penance to keep retracing my steps.
Amazingly too, found that my visit today coincided with Everlasting's - her signature was in the log before mine - who was with me on my previous DNF visit - I must have just missed her.
A most interesting puzzle, solved ages ago, and so happy to finally put a smiley face to the cache. Thanks for both the puzzle and the cache Ozcrawf.

So pleased to have CO with me.... so simple hide spot - feel fool myself but so happy to signed the log... after many visits.... no more headaches!!!.... Many thanks Ozcrawf to meet me... The weather was so lovely for a walk... Signed the log at 11 am. Again thanks Ozcrawf.

29-Jun-13
Come back and still no luck - waste my time... so give up sorry...

Maybe need refresh new camo??

02-Jun-13
Went there with Urch and Varuna. we couldn't see any container... ((Only Found it Smile 10 - Didn't find it Sad 14... now extra three more Sad make it 17...)) Thanks...

02-Jun-13
It's there... somewhere... but the question is "Where??"
An uninterrupted search with 3 pairs of eyes produced just a coil of fishing line! [B)] [xx(]

01-Jun-13
Stopped by to check on the cache. Cache is there and in good condition, although harder to find than it originally was!

26-May-13
Had a go at finding this puzzle yesterday with no luck, and came back again today, but foiled as a fishermuggle had taken root at GZ. Will try again on a week day some time to avoid them (3 caches foiled today due to that pesky species!) but would love to get confirmation that it is still there before coming again.

16-Apr-13
Yet another DNF on this cache , making it 3DNFs out of 4 Ozcrawf's caches that I looked for today

03-Dec-12
GZ has certainly changed quite a bit since the cache was originally hidden. Stopped by today to check on the cache and it is still there, just a bit harder to find than it originally was.

03-Dec-12
got the ok from the checker but after a 30minute search I still came away Smileyless

19-Sep-12
Another Ozcrawf disaster....your caches are really too difficult for simple thinkers like me! First big mistake was riding towards GZ only to get within 199m of cache with the river between me and it. So, a major detour to the Windan Bridge and back around the correct side of the river. A 1 hr search ensued...2 phone calls to prior finders. "Yes" you are at the correct location. "Yes" you are looking for a ...... ... . "Yes" it is hidden at that elevation. Well, the poor flora at my GZ got a thorough examination and further disection for an hour. Yes, correct, an hour. No sign of the wretched ...... ... for me. Hopefully better success for other caches. Thanks for the puzzle.

05-Aug-12
I went and did a brief check on the cache this afternoon and all was as it should be.

02-Aug-12
Drag FelixII to come with us to the GZ, three of us search - no luck so DNF for me. Thanks OzCrawf.

02-Aug-12
Gone I suspect.

28-Apr-12
Loved the puzzle but had a nudge to get me going on this one. When the puzzle was solved it was placed on the hit list for when I was going to be in Perth next. Hell or high water wasn't going to keep me from having a look for it so it was a bit disappointing when we came 27/04 and had to leave with a DNF.

After finding FOTPR2 the day before I was determined to find this one and admit I did have an idea on how it was going to be presented given the hint. This was the second stop for the day and three sets of eyes got to work. The find was made by Mr Felix. Knew we brought him along for a reason.

Loved how the whole thing was put together from start to finish.

TFTC and puzzle

Fast forward 24hours and MCFonz and Mr&Mrs Felix are at this cache again. Not happy with the DNF from yesterday.

Armed with some info from previous finders... hmmm bit confused as we got 2 different sets of info..

Anyway fighting off the mozzies again we searched high and low wandered further and further afield and kept returning to GZ.

In despair with still another a DNF looming, Mrs Felix emailed the CO! And what happens, yep every time, quitters luck Mr Felix the super star had the cache in hand! Oh yeah! Yip Yippee! Big GrinBig Grin
Boy are we pleased to get this smilie.

TFTC Ozcrawf (No need to reply to that email now Wink) Big Grin

PS, I forgot to mention that I actually solved this cache all on my own! No Coaches required, hmmm not the same for number 2.

Oh dear, what a bad start to what was supposed to be an epic puzzle finding caching day!

Out with MCFONZ and The Machman targeting recently solved puzzles some by singular members of the group and some as a brains trust!

Alas no amount of brainstorming or trust could reveal this one! Damn. Gee what do they feed those mozzies. They were big enough to pick us up and send us away without the cache anyways! Damn must have 40bites, 1 for every lost minute at GZ......

23 on the list for today, but after spending so long here we didn't even get halfway before the alarm clock rang out time to head home!

We will be back. Take MCFONZ a bit longer I reckon to get back from Albany but.....

27-Apr-12
Out on a "Puzzle Cache" run with McFonz and Felix II.

We had a list of Puzzle Solutions due the varying degrees of hard work from the different team members, so today was about picking up the Caches.

We were positive our GZ was spot on for this one, and we had a pre conceived idea of what we were looking for, due to the C/O previous hides, however despite a couple of searches and three pairs of eyes we uncovered nothing.

On reflection I am pretty sure now that we were infact searching for something completely different, of the wrong size and at the wrong height..... serves me right for making assumptions !!!

Anyway, we will have to return and search another time.

Thanks for the puzzle, and I'm sure the cache will be great when I find it !!!

10-Oct-11
With a few DNF's being logged for this cache I went for a quick walk this morning to check on its well being. The cache was where it should be and in good condition, although with almost a year since last being found it had blended into its environment quite well.

09-Oct-11
Came along for a fruitless look with my brother. We searched high and low and decided to leave when some muggles came along and settled at the nearby structure.

09-Oct-11
Yet another unsuccessful attempt to find this cache!

01-Dec-10
Came by for a look see, after solving a few months ago. Actually I did stop by a while ago, but it was at night, I was by myself and I thought best not to stick around. I'm pretty sure I know what to look for, but didn't see anything of that description. Also since I've been here last, it seems a few trees have been cut down and the branches strewn around here. I'll be back!

# 1151

This one was quite hard for me as I am not too familiar with all the flora here. Needed some hints (thx). Then finding the container was also not so easy, needed a hint as well.
But today, on my third visit I finally found the little one.
TFTC and the nice puzzle.
Cheers from Germany.

A replacement cache is in place. Camo not as good as the original but should suffice. Happy hunting.

11-Sep-10
The cache has gone walkies. I'll try and get a replacement up tomorrow. Sorry for any inconvenience.

21-Jul-10
Worked this one out after a long process. Went out for a look at the GZ after confirming on geochecker. I had a pretty good idea of what I would be looking for. After about 40 minutes I was starting to doubt my logic but a quick 'phone a friend' confirmed I was spot on with the cammo. Another 20 minutes of detailed searching and I finally had the cache in hand. You are a devious and develish man Ozcrawf! SL TFTC I reckon it deserves at least another whole notch on the difficulty scale though.

24-Jun-10
At last - we found it. Not sure how we missed it previously as it was exactly as we had anticipated. Very nice puzzle Ozcrawf. TFTH

20-Jun-10
This has got to be the best container Ive seen so far...no wonder I could not find it on Two previous visits..after the CO gave me a very generous hint I found fairly quickly...no muggles about this time...another very clever and masterfully put together puzzle Ozcrawf.

30-May-10
The puzzle had me scratching my head for a while. I had some ideas on the key, but didn't know what method to use. After solving the first step, I wasn't sure about the next step, but with a bit of lateral thinking I got the answer. This is a nice area that I have been to before. Came out this afternoon to have a go at the cache, unfortunately time was not on my side as the sun was setting fast. It seems a very popular area with muggles.

Anyway, after searching for a while and keeping an eye on the muggles I found the cache! Woohoo!!! I was so happy Big Grin Then, while signing the log I was sprung by one of the muggles - "can't you find it?". He said "there was a guy here yesterday with a GPS searching for ages, and I don't think he found it". Chatted with him for a while and showed him the cache and told him what it's all about. Turns out he works with GPS's every day doing Transport Logistics, and he was quite interested.

Thanks for the puzzle and the excellently camoed cache! Great job Smile

29-May-10
solved puzzle with a nudge from a friend...heaps of muggles about so could only peform a half hearted search....will return...another great puzzle... would've thought I would have recognised it a bit soonerRed Face

29-May-10
Another DNF for us.

23-May-10
Solved the puzzle fairly quickly and today went down to find the cache, however it eluded us. We will have another go soon.

19-May-10
Catching up on the logs I missed when first found Red Face

19-May-10
*FTF* at 7:10pm Found on the way home from work.

Puzzle solved and tested OK with the coordinate checker.
I had some trouble locating the cache, blame that on me as I was intent on looking on the other side of the track. It was a lovely night to be out. I nearly overlooked the cache container.

Thanks for the cache and the hunt.

19-May-10
Unfortunately I left it until after my meal to completely solve this puzzle and saw that I was the third to do so. This was about the time it was being first found by hhheddy so I guess I was lucky to be second with Gwiber.

Thanks for the cache.
