As there's been either no response from the cache owner, no cache to find or log to sign, or it's been a number of months since the last owner note. I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. Thought this would be a straight forward cache, but after a good search all over, we couldn't find it. Perhaps a confirm from CO that it is still there after so many DNFs.
We searched everywhere we could think of to try to find this one. I think it may have gone. Thanks anyway.
Found 3:41pm , find # 1317
Today Pam and I went to Ballarat because it was her brother's birthday and we were going to take him out to dinner in the evening.
During the day, she and her brother had some family business to attend to which gave me a few hours to get out and do some caching in the Ballarat area.
It didn't quite work out as productively as I had hoped as we got off to a late start and there were a couple of delays along the way but all in all, an enjoyable days caching resulted.
The most difficult thing about this hide was the water lying around on the way from where I parked. Until I tried to it open that is. That little container didn't give up without a struggle. Man, it was hard to open!
It was a bit damp inside but the log wasn't too bad, although it is getting pretty full.
I found a space to sign in the middle, out of sequence which is annoying, but i was able to sign it.
It really needs a new log book in the not too distant future.
Thanks TurtlesEdge

Geodogs (Dayna & Ducati) enjoyed a run in this lovely park. Thanks to TurtlesEdge for bringing us here.
A very different place today. The council has been through recently and trimmed back all the trees! Last time I got a DNF but today I found it. Glad it survived the clean up. TFTC
Found on our Ballarat Smackdown weekend with DazRascal, Blacklegend, Trailrunning and Quasar3671!
The kids had a ball as the big kids had a hunt for the cache which was located after a brief search.
We had loads of acorns in each and every pocket and all through the car. What a shame they dont taste any good!
Many thanks for bringing us here. TNLN SL. Cheers.

One of 184 cache finds during our "Ballarat Smackdown" weekend of caching on the 23rd to 25th. There were 13 of us including Blacklegend and three of his kids, Trailrunning, Haveanez and their two boys, Dazrascal and myself amd my two boys Tyler and Cooper. We'd spent a few weeks planning the trip, with every Ballarat Puzzle solved in the area, cache lists and road and route maps all ready to go. We stayed in the Miners Retreat Motel for the two nights and the accomodation and facilities were great. Our goal was simple - find as many caches as possible in the time we were here !
We found a great variety of caches and hides during the three days, which also involved a bit of walking and some 4WD fun as well in the state forests north of Ballarat. The weather was quite cold of the Friday and Saturday morning but eventually cleared to nice sunny weather Saturday arvo and Sunday. We all had a great time, especially the kids who did really well to keep up with the pace we were moving.
Our second day of caching and it was to be our biggest day and fullest day too. Into the afternoon caching now and the weather had cleared up nicely. Short walk to GZ and the cache was found. Kids had fun picking up the nuts and tossing them about too. Thanks for the hide.

One of 182 caches I personally found during our "Ballarat Smackdown" trip. The trip included teams Quasar3671, Trailrunning, Haveanez, Dazrascal and myself. Caches included around 30 mystery caches, a few earth caches, lots of trads and multis and both day and night caching. Some 4WD action was encountered as well, which was great. All puzzles within 60kms were solved.
I took three of my kids, Jasmine 7yo, James and Jemma 5yo twins, traveling from Tocumwal. The trip covered 3 days and two nights, staying in Ballarat. Quasar3671 took his two boys as did Haveanez. One of the best caching trips I have been on, and certainly lots and lots of finds, almost clearing out the main Ballarat area. Home base was the Miners Retreat motel, which was quite pleasant and quiet.
This was a find on our massive Saturday run, which included both day and night caches. Lunch was a picnic in the bush at one or our cache stops. A night caching run was undertaken after a rest and dinner.
Short walk in and cache found quickly. Kids had fun collecting acorns, of which I had to clean out of the car..... Why do kids love collecting acorns.??? You would think they were Chipmunks or something....

After a successful Friday evening to start off the “Ballarat Cache Smackdown” with 34 finds on the first day the Saturday was always going to be a day of superhuman effort. It started early with a run heading west and south, only to finish the day and night with a run to the Northwest and North. A great day was had by all because there was some good 4WDing and the weather held out for the day with only one notable shower. A total of 98 caches were collected today, and it shows you how quickly a cache can be located with so many searchers. This cache was one of them. Nice little spot near Victoria Park. Thanks for cache #80
Found on a Ballarat weekend with Haveanez, Trailrunning, Blacklegend and Quaser3671
Made very short work for the search on this one with so many eyes looking. All the kids wanted to collect ALL the acorns. There were pocket fills of them.

Easy find on our day of caching in Ballarat before we get on the boat back to Tassie. TFTC
Found at 4.20pm with Markndee and 2 Kathkins. Miss Kathkin 1 made the find here and was very pleased with herself. Contents wet - so more drying out was carried out of container and swaps. TN Left: turtle and added a new log sheet in zip lock bag. TFTC TurtlesEdge #1002
We found it along with Harrowang and our little Kathkins. How lovely this end of the park is nowadays, beautiful big oak trees and the lovely stand of pines dwarfing the pedestrians. It was quite a bear hunt for the girls with bridges, mud, tall grass, water to cross, low down branches, acorns and mosquitoes, quite a trek and a pleasure to find it without a lengthy search! SL Took: dinosaur Left: leopard. TFTC
Good spot. The whether was great after the thunderstorm. The log was wet and needed water proofing. Tftc
Loved this place we will go back an explore further next time. It was like a place were the fairy's go camping!! Kids loved it.. log was wet and full!!
A great spot for a cache. A quick find in the company of our geocaching grandchildren "The Seven Secrets" on a day trip to Ballarat while holidaying at our onsite van in Creswick Caravan Park. This cache needs maintenance as the log is quite wet also getting full.

No worries here although a passer by's dog took more than the usual interest in me. As to spooky; I'd say much of the parkland around here is unkempt and has great, as yet, unrealized potential.

8th find of the day, and 3070th total find at 2:13:00 PM.
A nice quick find. The hardest part of the hunt was deciding where to park. (There were ample parking spaces here today.)

Found it this today with Landau351 on our caching jaunt around the Ballarat area.
Followed the lumpy 4wd track through the trees to here. We emerged through the trees only to discover that we were trapped, by accident, in a "non 4wd friendly" part of the park ! Yikes. I sped down a cycle path to get out, only seen by a family of cyclists on the same path. Got onto the road, and hid the car down a side street. And walked back in for the cache. TFTC

08/10/2011 18:41 Off to Creswick/Ballarat for an awesome hard-core caching weekend with my good mate iamapom (Carl). So we are in this bush park and Carl decides its easier to drive down the '*road*'. Definitely 4WD only. We get closer and closer and eventually 'popped' out in the park area. We were very worried as we saw kids on bikes. Carl made a beeline to the road but had to dodge a arge drain. We then found crossing over the footpath. He drove quickly as possible along the winding path through the pine forest before finally finding a way back onto the road. We zipped around some streets as Carl was convinced the kids have called the police about these 'nutters' 4WDing through a park. I thought were going to simply leave but there was a cache to collect so we parked and walked back to GZ where we spent a few minutes hunting before reading the clue and finding the traditional style hide. I was very interested to see many mature oak trees in this area. Reminded me of home. Found with Phetlern during a day out caching. TFTC Greetings from New Zealand.

Found on a most enjoyable day's caching around Ballarat with June & Francis of "Hello Mrs" (NZ).
This cache completed our tour of Victoria Park today, a somewhat different atmosphere to when we visited the Scout Jamboree here many years ago.
TNLN . . SL . . Thanks for the hunt TurtlesEdge.

Last minute decision to go hunting while up in Ballarat, and it was worth the adventure. Peaceful little location just a couple of hundred metres from my old primary school. Took the eraser, left a bracelet. TFTC!
The last time I saw a bunny run that fast was at a bonny and his tail was on fire. Clear skies from TeamAstro.
How fast did that hare run when we scared him up near the cache. I reckon he was in NSW before we got back to the car.

This spot is probably not an area I'd like to be in after sunset. Had backup today in the form of tacklehead so braved spooky GZ, cache was in hand, logged and returned within moments. No spooks sighted nor heard, apart from tacklehead that is......... Thanks TurtlesEdge, nature can form some wonderful hiding spots.
This place looked familiar from a horror movie but I didn't let on cause I was trembling with fear waiting for the worst to happen ( Sulli1 to make the find )but I won the prize as we skidaddled out of there - tftc TurtlesEdge

Checked it out today and seems fine, the cache seals shut so I'm not sure how the water is getting in.
This was a quick find. There was alittle water in the container (which we removed) and the logbook was a little damp but still useable. The cache may need looking at before winter rains come. TFTC TurtlesEdge

Perhaps, the location of this cache could be described as being in a part of a Parkland that time forgot. A curious wander through this large and motley collection of paddocks, ovals, tracks, roads, ponds punctuated by a variety of native and foreign trees and grasses to get to this one. I was fortunate that on my ramble to be treated to the sight of hundreds of Common Brown Butterflies (Heteronympha merope) flitting about, which made for some excellent photos especially amongst the Rats Tail Fescue. Thanks to 'TurtlesEdge' for the cache in a location I expected that ordinarily I never would have cause to visit. TNLN.
