Found while spending a pleasant hope or so at the gardens. What an asset to the city. TFTC.
Nice walk in the Garden, and motivated kids thank to the cache! Very nice idea! TFTC
Quick wee find, at a stop for a meander before we hit the road back to Wellington with hayzz
A lovely walk around the gardens. I should have trusted by gut and gone with it... instead Geeves90 beat me to it.
Truly hidden in plain site! Anyone not looking for it would not suspected it, only a true geocacher would see it.
Day 16: Around TaranakiTodays journey took us around the Taranaki Region, where we headed as far south as Cape Egmont before heading up to Pukeiti, and back to New Plymouth for two more parks: Tpare and Pukekura Parks. After that, we searched for the best views of the Maunga from Te Wera Wera Bridge and walked the Coastal Walkway back to the Port. Another truly productive day, and thanks for all the caches around the Taranaki Region. (End of the cut and paste bit)Heres the specific log for this cache: Fun little cache found while wandering the grounds to complete the AL here. The cache was a clever one, but that isnt going to fool me after seeing these quite a few times in recent weeks. But, great engineering nonetheless, so TFTC and for bringing me to the Gardens. TFTC!
Was saying it was up on the grass above near a tree but saw a previous log and found quickly
Found it during our trip at New Plymouth! Beautiful gardens with fantastic weather. Thanks for hiding.
Heading up to New Plymouth with BFG for a weekend out of Wellington.
21 January 2023 17:13 Number 12271 for me. TFTC smoking gun for placing this cache for us to find.
What a beautiful location! Sadly a bit of a mobile reception blackspot (BFG had no signal on 2degrees, I had a skerrick with spark, but my phone ran out of charge just after findi this inethat point.) Very clever hide at a great spot.

Infoferret found the delightful & tricksy hide while I was fighting the combination of a linear adventure lab and no reception.
A nice quick find. A good start to the day, with us totally soaked! Fav Point for the hide. Thanks for placing your cache.
Ms_KR and I are off on our annual pilgrimage to Auckland to visit family. A drive from New Plymouth to Levin today, with rain all of the way, some of it torrential. We ananaged a few caches in the less wet times.
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. .

I wonder which meaning of Tūpare was intended? Matthews and Chapman-Taylor must have both been strong characters. Such a beautiful spot even in the rain and on slippery paths. Not at all drippy at GZ. Thanks smoking gun.
Stopped here on a whim while we were dawdling our way back from Auckland to Palmerston North. This is one of my new favourite places. This cache was just the icing on the cake Thanks so much for this clever hide. Hidden in plain sight is my fav
Here to do the lab cache so this was a real bonus. I was just loading the cache page when hk came along and immediately found it. Thank you for bringing us to such a beautiful area. Thanks for placing this cache and thank you for the smiley
Dnf was hope it would be our 11th find but no it's not btw the navigation jumps from place to place for anyone interested in finding it . I will return for this one eventually
most exellent geocache long walk down for this one but what a walk back up,cache in exellent condition.
Cool find, swing by the garden to have lunch. Thought there might be a cache! My 4th find
On a family picnic to Tupare Gardens. A stunning riverside venue. Neat cache. Tftc.
Lovely day for our first visit here. Lots of people enjoying the sunshine but with great co-ords and a check of the difficulty we soon had an idea that paid off. A FP from us, especially given the high muggle location didnt feel observed.
First time Geocachers here! Just wondering, is it still there? If so we will try again
Spotted it straight away but second guessed myself due to the gps coordinates not being entirely accurate. This is a stunning garden which we would have never found without this cache, thanks for bringing us here!
We have replaced the temporary cache with a permanent one. Hope it stays there.
Yes the cache has disappeared. So we have put in a temporary one until we get a better one. Cheers Kev & Clare
Wow. Its been many decades since we've been here so it was a pleasure to return. Made our way to GZ & really had no idea. Looked everywhere to no avail. Then changed locations slightly & hey presto. Nice one. Great camo. TFTC
What a delightful place! We visited here with our daughter and three grandchildren. We had lunch at the top garden, then walked down the path and explored the lower levels. The house and gardener's cottage are both exquisite! We then had afternoon tea by the river in the sunshine.Thoroughly enjoyed our visit! The cache was duly found and the log signed. Thanks for bringing us here and thanks for the cache!
Luckily was nearby when I detoured to find this cache. Was not sure at first, but then it moved, and I was smiling
Log was signed, a lovely spot for a cache

Yeah after a DNF 4 years ago and a hint from the CO, I finally decided to give it another try, despite the rainy day, I managed to find it pretty quickly and got back into the car just as another shower appeared, a favourite point from me, tftc smoking gun
#12,401. A delightful visit to Tupare in the New Plymouth District, Taranaki. A popular place, and fortunately GZ itself was relatively quiet at the time of our visit. Found after a bit of searching around. Great hide. The cache was wet inside, but the waterproof log paper was doing its job well. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log.
Interesting history and write-up. Favorite point added.
Thanks for the placement, and for bringing us to this site, and …

We didn't do this one when we were doing the lab cache and we would of walked past it
Great hide many thanks

I spotted there were a heap more Adventure Lab caches in New Plymouth so decided it would be nice to take SmallestGun9 for a walk to grab one and any near by caches. I picked this area and its one cache for the afternoon.
We found this cache roughly half way through the Adventure Lab Cache and after a fair amount of back and forth we found the clever cache.
T F T C smoking gun.

Visiting the gardens so decided to dip TB. Log saturated. I added some waterproof paper.
Our second visit to try and find. Successful this time thanks to others photos. Very cool hide. Tftc
A fun cache which we ignored when we sighted it initially, but found on a second pass. A favourite from us. An interesting location to visit, although quite a long walk down then back up again. TFTC
Found it while in Taranaki for Waitangi long weekend. Beautiful location! Nice hide. Well done. TFTC
Had to come here during our trip to Taranaki because we live next to Richard Matthews- Russell and Mary’s youngest son. A great neighbour and his current house is just as cool- full of beautiful antiques and also with a stunning garden.
Saw the cache as soon as I rounded the corner. A great spot. TFTC

I always love coming here. It feels very English. There's a surprise around every corner. My GPS initially steered me wrong but, when I took a step back, something looked out if place and, when tested, it was the cache. Favourite point for the camouflage and the location. TFTC and FP.
great garden with amazing big trees and lovely plantings of hostas. tftc spotted once I stepped back into the clearing
A lovely time spent here on the first day of a new decade. Wandered around and took some nice family photos. Have encountered a couple of similar hides like this before so didn’t take long to have log in hand. Happy New Year and TFTC
Found today as a family. Lots of cool hidden areas to explore here. Really enjoyed our time here. TFTC
