One more for Karine. Thanks for sharing-- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- --French version below-- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- --Short late log but more complete now that we are back home. Our vacation will take us to the other side of the world to the land of the Maoris. After many, many hours of flying, a passage through China on the way there and through the United States of America on the way back, we will finally arrive in Christchurch which will be the starting point of our journey. We will enjoy the beaches of the Pacific Ocean and we will go back towards the North Island via State Highway 1. To combine business with pleasure, we will take regular breaks and small detours according to the caches that seem the most accessible to us.With a little more than 3500 km in 20 days, we will have discovered many facets of this island which is soothing. We will have to come back because there are so many places that we have not done . In broad strokes, the path will go from Christchurch to the Kaikoura Peninsula then towards Picton for the crossing to Wellington.New island, new road, and by State Highway 2 we go towards Hastings and Napier. We will leave the seaside for several days to go to Tongariro and Taupo. We will continue north towards Rotorua and Hamilton (without forgetting a detour via Hobbiton ) A detour to the Coromandel Peninsula and finally the almost north of the island with Whangarei and Waitangi to learn the history of this country. There will only be a few days left to spend towards Auckland and its suburbs before taking the plane back to the grayness of our European autumn. The majority of the boxes will be found, we have abandoned those where our English was lacking and where we could not understand the clue. Thanks to all the owners who brightened up our path, who took us to incredible places (that's also geocaching)In short, we had a great vacation, saw beautiful places that simply ask us to come back. We learned a lot about the history of this country and its traditions, it's a great motivation for our destinations.-- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- --Petit log en retard mais un peu plus complet maintenant que nous sommes rentrs la maison. Working our way homeNice quick find hereStill nice and dry also got a Ad Lab here too
Up this way with ABCDF4 for a few daysSo to the CO for making our time away enjoyable
Thanks for the cache. I love the sea. Today was windy, so I could watch windsurfing there. I walked 8 km on the beaches and through the city to Devonport and then went by a boat to Downtown.
Nice spot, easy find once we decided to read the hint great way to start the Milford Takapuna walkway
I thought the cache was missing at first, because there was a big empty space in the hiding spot. But no, the cache is still there.Nice location. Thanks.
#984Stuck my hand in the bush only to get it coated in snail slime...wasn't expecting that sort of shell at the beach! Reached in a bit more carefully the second time and managed to find the cache.
Great cache in a very accessible spot, thank you! The logbook is full and needs replacing FYI
Out for a holiday stroll with himself and geodog. Quick find here on a blustery morning. TFTC
It's a long weekend so I came down to Auckland from the Far North for a few days geocaching. Friday I cached in Albany picking up lots of new TWS caches. Yesterday I headed down to Huntly collecting mostly AdLabs. Living where I do getting some higher numbers is a bit tricky so it was good to achieve that. Today I was after an ftf for my dot day calendar and wanted to finish off this area. It was market day in Takapuna so I ended up getting one of the last parks in Alison Ave. I had done most of this walk back in January with Yvettetb but we'd started at the other end. I hadn't looked at the tides but I was pleased to see it was nice and low today. A quick find between muggles. Thanks for another of your caches in this area
Luckily all muggles were far away and I could make a find undisturbed. Lovely spot!! TFTC!!
As indicated, it is a really busy spot, particularly at lunch time when I arrived there. Fortunately there was a bit of distraction in front of me while a paddle boarder unloaded - apparently with an unhelpful relative- her board and paddle. Nobody looked at a lone geocacher perched at GZ apparently making a phone call..Thanks G2.
Beautiful, first cache find in New Zealand by me and glory glory to Georgia. We signed it K $ and GG2GA.
Not busy today, so the search was quick and easy. RQ with the find on this one. SL TNLN TFTC!
Found it! Geo-sense was helpful! Last day of caching in NZ. Traveling home to WA, USA tomorrow! TFTC!
Quick find and luckily close to where I'd parked because I didn't have a pen. Took the cache to sign then quickly returned. TFTC.
I recon this cache is better to do in the evening because of all the beach goers, campers and people taking boats in and our of the water. Thanks G_2 for the cache. TFTC
First visit to NZ since before covid. Great to see family and friends but also to grab some caches at the same time. Great spot overlooking the rock pools: thanks for placing.
I had a lovely walk. Nice cool breezes and overcast.. git this one but missed others.
The adjacent holiday park is where I'm laying my head tonight to rest before entering Auckland city continuing southward on the Te Araroa trail tomorrow. This cache sits almost exactly at 581km walked so far.A nice easy find despite the many muggles thanks to a very generous hint. Much obliged G_2 I've seen your name on quite a few caches along this stretch, thanks for your effort in planting and maintaining your caches for the enjoyment of intrepid cache hunters such as myself. Cheers!-- This log is trackable ! ---- Feel free to discover ---- Please mention, in which cache you've seen this code: ---- 3TABQX --
