Logs

20-May-14
Left the Cleveland Ohio area on Friday May 16th with gmarkusic, Winslpr, MissLattitude, FiveGreyhounds, The Bird House, and LightHouseSeekers. We headed to GeoWoodstock XII (GC4BGXM) in St Charles Missouri. Geowoodstock XII is scheduled for Saturday May 24th. We plan to be at the Pre-Geowoodstock Meet-N-Greet (GC4Z7JC) Friday May 23rd.

We decided to take the scenic route to GeoWoodstock XII thru 13 States and Canada this year. We will be caching our way thru Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin, Iowa, Minnesota, Ontairo, Manatobia, Saskatchewan, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wyoming, Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska, and lastly, Missouri. We are in search of the oldest caches in each of those states. During our big adventure we will be known as the “Westward Ho’s”.

All cache types we found that had a physical log were signed with the group name “Westward Ho’s” to save time and space. If the cache required an email with answers, those answers will be sent to the cache owner by one member of the group for the entire group.

Thanks so much for taking the time to place this cache for us to find along the way. Your cache added to the fun and good times that we had as we travelled this great country of ours.

Hope to see you at GeoWoodstock!

Day 5 of 10
A group of cachers headed out from Cleveland, Ohio headed for GeoWoodStock. In our group was MissLatitude, FiveGreyHounds, Geo-Sarge, Winslpr, The Bird House, LightHouseSeekers and Myself.

Instead of taking the direct route we decided to make a journey of it. 10 days, 13 states and 2 Canadian Providence.

We saw many fantastic sights and found some really great caches! We signed the log as Westward Ho's or WHO to save space.
As we were making our way though the state we all just had to stop here and visit this popular city!!

Thanks for placing this cache for me to find!

We had searched for those once before but did not find it. Today Tuxie II found it shortly after we started looking.

After looking a long time for this one last summer, we decided to take a look again. After poking around the bushes for a while, I decided to do something a little different and was surprised to find the cache in an unexpected place. I was glad to find it but am wondering if it is where it belongs. Thanks for the cache.. Had never noticed this statue before.

This is one I'd found a few years ago before I started logging my finds. Feels good to officially cross it off the list. TFTC.

Showing my brother-in-law and his dad what geocaching was all about. Two problems here - 1) It was pitch black night with fog 2) We didn't have a real flashlight. Lil Smith and I had hunted this before and knew it was tough, under the aforementioned conditions it would be almost impossible. Couldn't get the newbies to give it up though. Hunted for a half hour or 45 minutes but we really never had a chance. I'd bet they'll be back sometime during the day though. So will we. Thanks for the hunt.

We found this on Sunday the 29th while on vacation. But I am just getting around to logging it on the 1st of Oct. I see someone didn't find it today. We looked a long time before my spouse found it and we put it back just as we found it. Everything in good shape. Just need to look closely.
