TFTC nice find quick drive by out and about with geo wife LynSteNet on a Friday afternoon collecting smileys for the map
TFTCOut with geo hubby Animal62 on this sunny Friday, hoping to add a few more smiley faces to our maps.
#24548. As Troodles was finding the cache, a local character called Jim came over and started chatting to us. We tried explaining geocaching to him but I'm not sure he understood. I'm pretty sure he said he'd been a scout here back in the day (which would have been many years ago). TFTC.
Today StreetWalkerNZ and I are driving from Moonta Bay to Point Turton. The Sea Horse geoart is on the radar for today plus a few other solved puzzles/multis.After a good coffee at a local coffee, we were ready to explore Maitland before going back to the Sea Horse geoart. We stopped by this cache first. At first we were distracted by something that wasn't the cache, but after consulting the GPSr, noticed we were in the wrong place and the cache was found quickly after that. No longer padlocked. We then talked to a man who came over to see what we were up to. We explained geocaching to him, and that this cache was created by/for the scouts. He said that the scouts no longer meet here. TFTC.
A great day of adventuring with Aussie Sparkie. Thanks to all the cache owners for their great work hiding and maintaining these caches for us to enjoy!
Off on our little adventure to YP. Found all caches today. Found with Erine14! Thanks for the Cache!
Traveling from Port Turton to Edithburgh for another week on the Yorke, this time the east coast. Meandering my way via a few towns collecting a few caches. Arrived at the showgrounds as the rain fell. Got wet running to the shelter of the den and found the cache nice and dry. Thanks Ciril and the scout group for maintaining this cache.
Thanks for placing this cache, Im glad it is still is here, although it looks like it lost its lock a while ago.Now time to taste the goods of the bakery.
This tuesday the three Confused Puzzlers met at the Rat's nest then headed west for a day of caching on the Yorke Peninsula with a list of caches to find. By the time we returned to the Nest the list was completed and two more besides. This was one of the ones I wanted.Another quick find for me only and scored a shiny as a bonus Thanks to Maitland Scouts (Maintenance by Ciril) for adding to the playing field with this cache.Cache #14884 for me.*This log composed and published using GSAK (Geocaching Swiss Army Knife).*
I was lucky to be invited out today for a day of shenannigans and hunting by joojoo57 and Richmond Lad. The goal was the Seahorse Geoart just out from Maitland SA and a few others nearby. The AdLabs in town got done as well as the Bonus. this was a wonderful change from the job and house hunting of the last couple of weeks. We were realising that the days count would be at 95 so I said we simply HAD to get to 100!All the geocaches were found in good condition and other than a few little scratches there were no injuries in our merry team. Signed the book as JKR for the day to conserve space for future and replaced as found. Thanks you to the Owners and travellers who maintain them. Happy Hunting!
Out today caching around Maitland SA with joojoo57 and KezzBear. SWe completed the SeaHorse GeoArt and a number of other caches. In all we found 100 caches. Thanks to the CO's. Log books signed with name of JKR and caches placed back where found.
Our day was spent over at Maitland completing the Seahorse geoart as well as the AL and various caches around the town. I appreciate the time and effort all the COs have put into the placement and maintenance of the caches found. Was with Richmond Lad and KezBear and signed as JKR.
Another nice find with woolwood9 today. Thanks for putting this cache out for us to visit. SL tm/ww NZSoon located. No lock.
Over to attend the Great Leap Forward Mega Event with tmann421.Have done a few km collecting caches and have enjoyed the tour aroundThanks to all the cache owners for their efforts in placing and maintaining these for us to findSigned log tm/ww NZ

After over seven weeks on the road, I'm back home and finally catching up on all my logging.Caching in South Australia was fantastic, so many good hides to find, and we found ourselves zigzagging all over the place doing lots of geoart but of course ran out of time to get everything done on our to-do list. The majority of caches we found were in great condition and well maintained, which is a credit to all the CO's who placed them, so thank you.Our logs were mostly signed as 5 for QLD to save room on the log sheets, and no doubt, we'll be back again in the near future.
An early morning start after our overnight stay. I am traveling with my friends, hatzofff, RoddyC, Snickersallan and grannysmith1947. We are signing all logs as "5 for QLD" to save space. All caches were found, signed and replaced as foundAfter some early caches and an event we headed off to some special geoart and an overnight stay before heading back to Adelaide for the start of the Mega. Today has been one of the hottest and windiest we have had so far. [:(!] Here's hoping Adelaide will be a bit cooler tomorrow.
TFTC smile 18849 Out and about on a lovely day Having a great time finding a few caches heading to Adelaide for a few weeks then on our way to Canberra . Signing as 5 for QLD - Hatzofff Snickersallan RoddyC Imbunda. What a great team we made and lots of laughter and fun. Lots of caches to get today, and it was hot and windy at the geo art Thank you Ciril for placing this cache for our enjoyment [:X]
A Leap Year Mega draws us to Adelaide. Today's our intrepid group has our second day in South AustraliaWe are using the Acronym 6 for QLD to sign the log sheets. Most of the caches this day were nice quick finds. And so happily I say that the logs were signed and caches replaced as found on this day, 27th February 2024. TFTC, Ciril.
Our journey into Adelaide is slowly coming to an end. Zigzagging across the country and picking up different LGAs as we journeyed.Caching with and signing as 6 for QLD including RoddyC hatzofff Imbunda snickersallan Patrol14 grannysmith1947TFTCache Maitland Scouts (Maintenance by Ciril)
TFTC Ciril your cache Maitland Scouts that we found today. We are parked up in the local Showgrounds/Caravan Park for a few nights. This cache was a short walk away. Loved the hi tech locking mechanism. Opened, signed log and replaced as found. Find Count: 17838
Stopped because the amount of fav points this cache has. Quick find. I was here with a previous finder and it is currently easier to solve/find than before years ago when they found it.
Out with the JAMS crew for a weekend down the York's. The JAMS members along this weekend were JJ52, Allister w, Mogni and Sir_spectre. We came to finish off the last of the finish line for all of us and then goto a CITO event i was hosting near Kalpara. JJ52 and Allister W were target some certain cache types for the hard sounvier online bage. After Finishing the fishing line geoart we cached along the coast to Edithburgh and still only got to Edithburgh for dinner. Saturday was a cooler day for power trailing and only 1 snake was sighted, sunday started off cold but soon turned in to nice caching weather. We stopped for lunch in Stansbury on the way home.

Here we are, the 3 Stooges (weredunn4, WayneAPN and myself) hit the beautiful Yorkes Peninsula again.
This time we are targeting the Sea Horse series of caches and is often the case with us, no doubt there will be a few other bonus caches along the way.
A typical day out for us now, going hard for caches but truckloads of trash-talk, banter and laughs
All caches located & stamped, and most importantly, maintenance performed where needed.

Another 3 Stooges (Cheezel1961, WayneAPN, weredunn4) road trip to Yorkes to target the SeaHorse letterbox series, and a few more along the way, plus bakeries raided, carbs consumed, and the usual plethora of tomfoolery that comes with road trips.
Cache found and log stamped. TFTC!

TFTC found whilst staying at the Showgrounds. We had to get this one because we met in Ventures over 40 years ago
Thanks Ciril for placing this cache and for the ongoing maintenance. Find #8416 on 25/4/2023 at 4:04 pm.
A day trip north to collect some smilies. Some caching therapy after a solid month of designing puzzles and placing caches. I can’t pass the opportunity of good weather and a mid week public holiday. Respect to the fallen.
Caches were in good condition unless stated otherwise. I signed the log myself with my stamp or with pen and returned as found. Maintenance was performed if required to make sure caches were in good condition for the next finder. Thanks for the fun.

Catching up on logs. Apologies for the late log.
Found while in the area with CPwanderer, SpidermonkeysMum, GoodLook and TheDame after completing the seahorse series.
A trip to the Yorke Peninsula with CPwanderer where we met up with SpidermonkeysMum, GoodLook and TheDame to complete the Seahorse geoart. We also completed some Adventure Labs, attended a couple of events and made several other finds during our stay.
Logs were signed with our own caching names, initials or "FR" (standing for "Fabulous Randoms" - a made up group name to save space in the logs).

Geocaching is always most enjoyable with friends!
I was delighted to be invited to join in on a geocaching trip on the Yorke Peninsula. We found a number of caches and attended several events including a CITO, and yours was one of them.
Please know that we wrote the initials "FR" to save space in most of the logs as a group name (fabulous randoms) to cover myself, GoodLook, CPwanderer, Gizmo's Gang and SpidermonkeysMum. Otherwise our caching names or initials were used.
Thanks so much for adding to the fun!

It is a pity that the padlock is missing, but it is still a great cache to find with friends today.

A last minute decision to attend some events on the Yorke Peninsula ended up becoming a really lovely, very action packed, 2 very long days and 1 night adventure.
My alarm woke me up at 4am Sunday morning. I'd collected TheDame just before 6am, and we were off to Maitland to meet up with CPwanderer, Gizmo's Gang and SpidermonkeysMum by 8am to attack a Sea Horse, have lunch at the Port Victoria pub, and pick up some random caches prior to a dinner event..... and then it was another early start to find adventure labs, physical caches, an event and CITO - woo hoo!!!
Logs were signed with our own caching names or "FR" (standing for "Fabulous Randoms" - a made up group name to save space in the logs).
---------------------------
Will we see you at the Mega in Adelaide on 29 February 2024?
Check out GCA1DNA to log your will attend and to find out more.

Nice cache though and all good otherwise.

We went on the hunt again today while travelling south again with ilook4geo. Some interesting caches were found and we enjoyed stopping at each one to break the trip. Thanks for placing this cache go to Maitland Scouts and for giving us a reason to make a stop here, but it would be more secure if the lock was replaced.
Out for some more caching along with goingplaces2. It was a good day with plenty of finds but the weather was quite variable. This cache was located, the log was signed and all was replaced as found. Job done! TFTC.
Found this with CherryRose on our way home to the Adelaide Hills. Great cache. Pity the padlock is missing. TFTC TNLNSL
Today we stopped in town and wandered into the Showgrounds as it was show day. As we checked out each area Mr80 spied this. Quickly recorded our name in the log. A simple find without a gps!, TFTC
Today, the weather was forecast to be dismal with thunderstorms and a rain drenching! Consequently, gridge98 and I retreated to the more dry vicinity of Upper Yorke Peninsula. Other than a few drizzles, we had good weather. We visited Paskeville, Kadina, Moonta, Balgowan, Point Pearce, Maitland, and Arthurton, with highlights of the mining relics, 4WD-ing along the west coast beach, and finally dinner and heading around Maitland. A long day out and about, arriving home just after midnight.
I had prepared/researched this puzzle prior to our visit, but in the end, there isn't any padlock protecting this geocache? Hence, this cache has become more of a traditional cache. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks Maitland Scouts for the cache placement, and to Ciril for its ongoing maintenance.

After dinner in town we made our way to this one, not a field puzzle any more as the lock had gone and is more of a TRAD
Today With the weather more promising on the yorke peninsula than in Adelaide, Davidwazza and I decided to head over and clean out as much as we could as well as doing quite a bit of beach 4wdriving.
In total 87 finds within 1 DNF for the day.

Nomads travelling in their caravan around Australia. We have been on the road since July 2011 and discovered caching in August 2013. We travel with a bunch of travel bugs belonging to our sons and grand children.
Today, we are camped in the showgrounds, and notice that Maintland is one big square, so we decided to find all the caches within that square, acting as tourist as we went.
Came armed with the required information, but found no puzzle here. Easy find, easy open. Signed and returned as found. Thanks Maitland Scouts ad Ciril

Ive been wanting to find this one got years and finally today the opportunity presented. Some years ago now, i was a scout leader for a troop closer in to Adelaide. Good times. I liked the placement of your cache- must be hard to find stealthily on a monday night! Didnt need the code in the end. Tftc!
We did our homework on this cache a couple of nights ago knowing we would be passing through Maitland this morning. The cache was indeed quickly located once at Ground Zero and the log book soon retrieved and signed. Thanks so much for the very nice cache and greetings from Zimbabwe
Owl was in the area for a history weekend and it could have become a song - on the second day of Yorke, geocaching gave to me... 26 lovely finds, 1 DNF, 6 needed multis, 2 unknowns, 1 bull ant bite, numerous scratches and a hole in the owlmobile! She came prepared with the combination for this one, but didn't need it.
Nice find here whilst passing through Maitland on our way home from the YP. Shame the lock puzzle element has gone but nice find all the same TFTC
We left Esperance 3 days ago for the Yorke Peninsula after 4 months spent mainly enjoying the warm weather up north. It’s been a bit of a let down since we reached Perth and the weather cooled right down. The sun is thinking about coming out today, and we’re cheering it on. Tomorrow we aim to start on our adventure trying to pick up as many caches as we can before heading back home to Victoria in the last week of September.
We have just set up camp at the back of the Showgrounds in Maitland and intend to base ourselves here for a few days as we start on the power trails in the area.
But this afternoon we were out and about around town collecting a few caches here. This was the last one for the day. Don’t we like to end it with a nice straightforward puzzle!

Found as part of My Annual leave SA adventure, I had a great time touring the Yorke Peninsula and other areas of the state. After Spending the Night camped at Maitland, I was rested up for a big day of 320 cache finds as I concentrated on the Gone Fisin trail. No lock on the cache anymore/ An easy find. Thanks Ciril (F=846 H=64) for the cache.
A Rat and a snake went caching on the Yorkes.
A quickish find for us today.

Another day on the Yorke with the Rat seeking more smilies in this part of our state. The weather was a tad cool and a sprinkle of H2O failed to dampen our spirits.
With the requirement of the code already known by the Adder (an ex Postal worker) this was going to be a easy find and sign. Pity though that the puzzle part of the cache had been removed and the code not needed.
I guess the cache itself will not go far in a hurry the way it had been secured LOL
Log signed and returned.

The lock is missing! Bummer.
Found with FUF009.
We headed out of St Arnaud, VIC early this morning and drove practically non stop to Minlaton with either totally random stops for caches or specifically selected caches.
It felt like a very quick drive despite it actually being about 8 hours all up.
Such a nice change of scenery and nice for both of us to have free range caching rather than the limited range St Arnaud has left for FUF009 and difficult Melbourne caching for me.
All caches found were in good form unless mentioned at the start of my log.
Apologies for the generic log but I just can't do individual logs after the mass of caches that were found. I'm so tired they all have merged into one big cluster.
Thanks to all the COs for their hides. Tftc

We had fun with caching few weeks here in Australia ( South Australia and Northern Territory ). Lots of geocaches and many sort of them too. We saw awesome places, weather was good all the time and people were friendly and polite. Caches were pretty similar like in our home country. Of course there were some exeptions. Nice and huge country!
