A great cache location. Walked further along and viewed the site of the old power house. River in flood today, so excellent flow. Added a new log book to the cache. Sharpened pencil & removed old useless pen. Noted that there is no rubbish / glass near cache.
Sad to report no sign of TB Bobbi.... hopefully someone has recently picked it up and moved it on. Cache is quite full. This site is recommended for it's historical location, and for the great views nearby. Thanks tgsnoopy for this great placement!
Was disappointed to hear this cache was raided later in the day - few people around in the morning, but it's location next to the toilets made it difficult to be discreet. I hope someone finds another spot for a cache nearby - it's such a remarkable site!

Visited this cache location late this evening. Unfortunately I found a broken container and no contents! Hopefully this is not related to the recent TV articles and is just a coincidence.
I've decided to archive this cache as it was an early cache placed in a manner that could be found without a GPS. As I do not live in the immediate vicinity of this cache and I have recently heard from another cacher keen to maintain the location I will archive this to maintain it's history and allow the new cacher to establish his own cache in the vicinity.
Thanks to all that visited the falls and found the cache.

I will be visiting this location on my next trip to Rotorua. I'll be taking appropriate action when I evaluate the cache and the area it is located in. I may possibly be over that way tomorrow.

Xmuggle, EJ & Boss on the trail with me...
TNLNSL.
NOTE: Needs a new logbook (full), ziplock bag (leaky) & pen (not working as damp?). Cache may need to be moved as broken glass, used cans & extensive adolescent muggle sign abound. It is only a matter of time before the cache is found, methinks. Glass & other rubbish was migrated to rubbish bin! Is this where the car-breaker-into-ers hang out waiting for prey? Is carnal knowledge sought here? This and other questions of time and space remain un-answered...

Massive muggle evasion required for this one. Not hard to find, but may be a bit too public for its own good! Nice day out.
Our first of many caches. Guided by friends to location (5 yr old little girl). Loads of fun with the family. TNLNSN.
This is our first cache find in new zealand. Left Enfield Explorers TB at the start of its journey back to the UK.

Visited this with 'stink bum' and his family. Had an easy find and a nice walk down the stream.
Log book is 100% full and in need of a new one.

About 10.30 am. Found the cache and then spent an enjoyable time walking through the bush. Entertained by the various groups using the water. Log Book full. TNLN
Nice easy find with my son Jak. Cool walk and view of waterfall. Log book is full. Thanks
Cool walk we went all the way up to the Trout Pool, also watched two rafts go over the falls. Very hard to get to the cache as there was car load after car load of muggles. Log book damp & almost full. 1 in 1 out
Great spot, enjoyed the walk before as too many muggles about when we arrived.

We were almost too busy watching the rafters come over the falls and being solicited by the camera guy to book our own raft trip to look for the cache. Took skater, left monkeyfist. Yet another beautiful spot that is just off the path enough to be missed if we weren't caching.
From some earlier logs, it looks like the Lonely Texan 34 travel bug is missing from the cache, so I figure I'll mark it missing so it won't keep showing up on the cache page....
Called by to collect a TB (McFacer) to add to the new hotel in Rotorua. Also took $2 for morning tea.

Hi,
I found your cache today. It was a bit drizzly but wonderfully powerful! (The falls that is) We found the secret steps down to the lower observation point and took a little video there. I also snapped a few up top. the cache was well camod and hidden although I didnt notice any TBs in there today.
TN L-TB McFacer and Sig Disc.

Stopped to look for this one after a feed in Rotorua. My partner found it with not much trouble at all. Unfortunately we couldnt have a look at the falls as we planned to stop off to find the cache at Lake Okataina and were pressed for time.

I wish I had visited here during the day, but not enough days in this trip unfortunately. Arrived not long after 6pm on the way back to Rotorua, and it was getting pretty dark. We could still see the white water at the falls below, but definitely needed the torch and hint to find the cache. The night visit was worthwhile though - the walk to the viewing platform overlooking the falls had lots of glow worms on them. Most cool and worthy. No exchange made. Cheers Gav [595]
4.00pm. Found without too much effort once GZ free of tourist muggles. Then enjoyed watching the white water rafting.

We also timed our visit to see some rafters doing their stuff - like inverting their raft on the big drop. All the occupants (and the cache) were found safely.
easy find,,, just had to watch out for muggles using the loo,,,
loved the view of the falls from the bottom of the steps,, with the water lapping at our feet,, we felt we were in the falls,, brilliant spot,, definately worth the walk down the track to the caves were luck enough to time it right to see rafters going down the river,, brilliant walk..

Doing a job in the area so thought I'd dash in and find this. No problem. Had a look at the Falls afterwards and watched some overseas tourists come down the falls in big rubber rafts...what a buzz..would like to spend some more time in this area...kayak heaven
Quick dash in to find this (easy using hints) and then
walk to view the falls (which you can hear beckoning
you to come and visit) but didn't stay too long. Cheers.

Followed our noses and used the 'latest' clues to find the cache
Actually, there didn't appear to be too much of a problem with the cache site today.
We were unaware that this historic site existed and found the details of it fascinating. Great spot!
Took: 2 small bouncy balls
Left: flashinf Amican flag pin
Picked up: Molasses the Tortoise. He's on his way back to the States for another quick 8500 miles. Go Tortoise!!

This wouldn't have been so difficult if there wasn't a pile of POOP by the cache... hmm, tough to go digging around when there are feces in the area. We dropped off the Molasses the Tortise TB and picked up the Nemo one. We also lefty a yellow magnet that was one of our wedding favors as we're currently on our honeymoon. We'll wait for the Nemo bug to be fixed and then log that we grabbed it.
A straight forward cache. I left the TB Nemo however I have recorded the incorrect tracking number and cannot therefore "drop" it off. I will try and resolve the problem.
Found it without a problem despite some pretty awful weather. Dropped off TB and will upload pictures when I return to amore permanent location.
13:30 This location was a little bit ...unusual - jumping 'round a toilet house. But anyway: we had to try twice. After searching for about 20 minutes we gave up and had lunch. Then we tried once more and in the end it was very easy: much closer to path than we thought for the first time. Good wheelchair access!

Thanks for leading me to a very scenic and interesting little park. Cache is in good shape, if somewhat full. Took alien candle, left kayaker TB, MarvinM magnet and Canadian keychain.
Relatively easy to spot once looking in the right place.
Used the GPS on map screen to walk straight up to cache.

Staying at nearby hotel so decided to find this one. Found without the clue as coordinates were spot on. Unfortunately there were a number of broken bottles in the area, (we removed the ones we could see) but be careful there could be more.

Excellent Fine day and Gabby found this one without the clue.-fridge magnet + expanding lizard.
Was staying in Rotorua, so took another crack at this one (the first attempt, I only had the coords and spent a fun time trying not to look like I was lurking around the toilets). Was armed with the clue this time and went straight to it. TNLNSL. Cache is very full, so may need small trade items. Falls were very impressive after the rain.

As time was limited, decripted the clue and found it easily.

Damn. I must have been looking in the wrong place or it was hid really well. Searched around the base of the obvious candidate and several others, but gave up after my wife grew impatient and tourists arrived (about 15 minutes). Nice spot and great ferns in the area.
Saw that Little Black Bear had not moved in a while, so came by to pick him up. Also brought Rick-A-Mortis with me as he had not logged this one yet.
been here before but not as a member cool place, and a neat spot to bring the family. thanks to tga wookie again.

OK we(a bunch of JAFFAs) travelled from Tauranga so my wife could relive a rafting exploit down the Kaituna. We timed it right as five raft loads of screaming adventure seekers plunged over the falls.
The cache was an easy find once we got a short break in the flow of passing tourists.

A very nice locale-- yet another place we wouldn't have found if it weren't for caching. We are visiting from Toronto, Canada and this is our 5th NZ cache. We met a man going fishing who said, Are you doing that GPS thing? There was a girl here last week trying to find it.
We were just in time to see some kayakers and rafters come over the falls. We took nothing, left a nickel. Thanks for the cache!

Last time I stopped here to look for this the car park and surrounds were full of tourists, so left it till later in the day this time. Easy find. Took whistle and left an alien.
Time to head north and check off a few more caches.. This was the first of the day and although we had both lived in Rotorua for years (some of us longer than others of us)neither of us had been here! Found the cache by looking around. Had a spot of lunch here and noted all the broken window glass in the car park.. This would be one of the worst Theft ex Car spots in NZ and a couple of local 'hoodies' hung around looking for an opportunity so we cut a track..Took nothing and left only a log entry this time...
found cache no worries, took clock and left

After the last log for this one I decided to have a look for myself and yes it's still there intact and in the same place it was left.....I had a wee hankering for some chocky so I swapped a pen for the oversized mars bar.....cheers.
Couldn't find this cache, even with help of clue. The relatively public nature of the site suggests possible plunder. Nevertheless, enjoyed the area and the short hike to the falls. Thanks for placing the cache. Yulbehappy, from Minnesota, USA
Found this one pretty easily. I could hear the water gushing nearby, but didn't have time to have a look around. i have marked this place on my Map and will visit next time i'm down this way.
Plenty of people around when i hoisted this one, so a fair amount of stealth was required
enjoyed it though

When we finally did find it, it was in such an obvious place. We took the keyring, and left a alien keyring in its place.
This one found no worries, actually visible if looking hard enough!! Took nothing and left Chuddy and Chupa Chups. Very pretty falls, were there in time to see some rafters coming down them. Crazy people!!
We re-visited this one keen to get on with unfinished business, still had quite alot of trouble finding it,(don't ask me why).
When we finally found it, it was so obvious!
Its a bit unnerving in such a busy area, hanging around in the bush by the toilets, you instantly feel like you're up to no good.[:o]
We took nothing and left a Maxi Mars bar.

After a wee wander around with gps in hand, I threw the gps into my pack, and came to the opinion that I would be better to work from the clues and instructions given.
After a short hunt, I located the cache at a base of a tree. I took the chocky bar as I had the munchies and left a note to log my visit.
If you have the time, go for a wee wander around the place as it is well worth the effort.

We had a really good look but were having trouble with the waypoint. Real busy spot this time of the year so we were getting a few funny looks racing around with a yellow GPS and a map. After a hour we had to admit defeat and head off after the next for the day.
