I hate to be the one to call it but with three dnf's and plenty of warning about the condition of the stump and no contact from the cache owner I think this one needs to be archived. It's a great spot worthy of a cache so hopefully the owner can get up there and place another.
I suspect this one is long gone. I has a good dig in the remnants of the stump and nothing could be found.
The Stump is no longer there - is has disintegrated and was in largish chunks all around the spot where it was. Looked under all chunks but it is not there.
If it is meant to be in the remnants of the old tree stump then sorry but it ain't there.
AYE me hearties. We founds your little chest and plundered it of the one eyed cap'n.
Found by Mary & David at 1350. More great cache notes. Wish more cache owners would do the same. Surprisingly, the park was deserted when we arrived. A great place for kids to run around and kick the heaps of fallen leaves. We were glad that the temperature had risen to double figures after a cold start to the day further north. Interesting to read that the acorn that was planted 100 years ago originally came from Windsor Castle. Dropped off " Lime Candy's Black Cap’n One Eye Trackable Tag". Our thanks to murrayp88.
Found on our way back from nufrat's farewell event, Datruk stayed in the car, as he had found it before.
I wandered in from the carpark, and due to the lovely Autumn weather we were having today (rain and clouds) there was absolutely no one around, making it nice and easy to find this cache!!
Still in the place it has been put since the maintenance log!!

10:16:14 Pulled up and there another car in the area but they were having Lunch over to one side. Headed towards GZ and cache was quickly located under the remains of the hide. It is not often I stop or go over to a plaque and read it., but in this case I did. Well what a surprise the very large oak tree was planted here on the 12/4/1913. Almost 100 days to the day WoW almost to the day.

The stump in which the cache should be hidden has been broken away. The cache is now laying on the ground beside the stump with a piece of the old stump over the top of it. It will only take someone cleaning up the park to pick up the piece of the stump and the cache will be exposed. I suggest that you need to find a new location within the park for the cache.

We were off cruising in our MX-5 today; destination Marysville for lunch. I had checked out this cache on Geocaching.com before leaving and had planned to stop off and pick up the TB...but the prospect of an open road ahead to roar up the Black Spur got the better of me. Gee, it was fun while it lasted...I caught up to someone about half way up going very slowly...boring . No one had gone the other way so there was nothing for it but to turn around and roar back to get this cache .
We had the park to ourselves so we had a stroll around and wandered up to GZ. The cache was easy enough to find but is now at a big risk of being muggled due to it's natural hiding place being broken. I signed the log, collected the TB and hid the cache as best I could.
Thanks Murrayp88 for putting this cache here. I have driven past here countless times over the years but I don't think I have ever stopped here before.

Stopped in the Fernshaw reserve whislt crossing the spur this afternoon - why do so many motorist drive too slowly on a mountain road and don't move out of the way of quicker cars!!! The reserve was deserted so was able to take the short walk where the cache was found quickly. Thanks to murrayp88 for putting the cache here, the walk around this area is lovely.
A nice quick drive-by, but a good reason to stop and see the old town site.

Final cache for the day, just a leg-stretch stop on the way down the mountain to home. 36th find for the day. My phone had no coverage and then ran out of battery so I had to dig out the old GPS for this one, then found it easily. TNLN. Thanks for the cache.
Finally got this one, after many days spent up this neck of the woods. Nice hide and good history I never knew. TFTC. TNLN
Found while travelling through the area on vacation from Canada.
Wow, I love where caching takes you. What a beautiful park.... Loved the history lesson!

I love local history and found this location fascinating. Pity the grass is so long, but we did find GZ and the little treasure hidden within. I give it a favorite point just for bringing me here.
wow what a cute area. was not expecting to find this when we pulled in. we quite enjoyed just looking around. cache was a nice easy find although i was half expecting a snake to jump out at me. tftc

Today was the last day I could go caching with my partner in caching SedgwickDave before he was to leave for a holiday, so we wanted to go somewhere where we could find lots of caches. It was decided to head to the Marysville area via Healsville and a few caches there too. It was a fantastic sunny spring day and really the ideal day to go caching.
We arrived in the car park which was all but deserted. One car was parked but no occupant. What an interesting park with such history. A nice quick find today once my GPSr settled.
Thanks to murrayp88 for the cache and for bringing us here. TNLN

Today was another epic today with some good numbers in a region I've been meaning to visit for some time. Was with best mate and caching wingman ahomburg once more with the plan to do the Lady Talbot series as well as other caches in the surrounding region. The weather today was ideal for a big run with a temperature of about 23 and sunny. A good all round day with different types of caches (3 type rule achieved) and some high and low terrain ratings completed. Fascinating to see how much the region was hit by the fires in Feb 2009 and today it coming back which is great to see.
Stop by this one on the way to Marysville. Interesting history of the area and a nice quick find too. GZ today was about 5m but the location was obvious. Thanks for bringing me here, left blue gem stone. TFTC murrayp88

Fun to find in the dark - too bloody wet for the girlfriend in ugg boots...Last cache for the night, heading back to camp for a beer
MMelb was staying up at Eildon with friends for the weekend and as we had to pick him up late this arvo we decided we would slowly wind our way up there caching on the way so we set off at about 10.45am.
JMelb doesnt enjoy driving along these windy roads so was very glad of a stop here! It was very squelchy on the approach to GZ! TNLNSL Checked out the tree that was planted nearly 12 years after the visit of Queen Mary lol!!

This was a beautiful, historical spot, with an easy cache to find. The mountain ash stood very tall in the twilight and some of the older trees looked like they were out of an enchanted forest. B1 found this cache and we left Julia, as we thought this would be a great place for a Jamboree. Thanks murrayp88 for alerting us to our history.
I got word from Dr Jim that he was panning an 4x4 assault out east.. so plans were made to take the day off work and join the fun.. C@H woosed out when the weather got nasty.. So it was down to the two of us to fly the flag and spread the good caching word.. Mostly the bad weather saw us coming and ran the other way.. Although nothing could scare the snow away, however despite the cold conditions I wouldn't have traded it for the world.. go as far as saying best caching experience ever.. The trust steed (4x4 hire truck) did us well and mostly stayed on the road.. Thanks to all the various cache owners for your part in our fun day, and of course to the Captain of the fair ship, Dr Jim.. Sorry for the proforma copy/paste log.. TFTC Dipped various bugs and TB's to mark the occasion.. Find #2487
Second cache of thirty today - found on the way to Marysville.
Shame the town was closed, if it wasn't for the roar of log trucks it would be a fine abode.

Stopped by here while on the way to today's bushwalk in the Cathedral Ranges. It was very wet underfoot on the way to GZ but a nice easy find at 09:35 nevertheless .
Just as I was arriving back at the car, bienvenu rolled up for our 84th meeting of another team in the field, followed not long after by Alsume to take possie number 85 .
TNLNSL. Thanks murrayp88.
PS: I didn't notice the Happy Birthday!!! TB in the cache but having now read the description of what it is (a laminated card), maybe it actually was there after all.

On the way to the Cathedral Ranges State Park for an AWG bushwalk - with a bit of time to spare, I pulled in here only to see two familiar faces, Eudes and Bienvenu. Eudes had already made the find but walked back with us as we made a quick find at 9:40am. Ground was a bit soggy underfoot today.

22/01/12 6:22 PM Find #749 I'm gonna have to come back here as its such a nice spot worthy of a longer visit rather than the quick drive by on the way home to Melbourne. An interesting history with little left to show for it but then again I may discover this next time. Amazing to see how big an Oak Tree can grow in 99 years. Thanks for bringing me here and for the cache.
Stopped off for a lunch break in this grove of magnificent old trees then off for an easy find. TFTC. TNLN.

Couldn't find.
Stars should be higher, taking into account that some people don't have access to GPS in this area, or hint should have a little extra something seeing as there are sooo many stumps around!
Not very pleased.

Our first find on our Marysville getaway. We'd just spent a few hours at the Sanctuary (delightfully quiet on this wet Grand Final day - It pays to NOT be a football fan sometimes ) and pulled over here for a quick find. Despite some muggles interested in stuff nearby I interested myself in the object near GZ and then nicked over for a quick find...
Have to chuckle at the previous DNF - Can't exactly blame the cache owner for smartphone caching reception issues! That's a new one.
Dropped off a TB (knowing it'll be safe from smartphone cachers )

We found this cache today at 6:30pm as the final of 35 on our Marysville Caching Tour IV in company of Alansee and Lochb. Well and truly dark now but with torches in hand, we squelched our way to GZ for the find. With 35 caches to our name today, this our 7th biggest haul in a day and the 2nd lowest number of caches in a day that we were yet to find. (Still never picked up exactly 25 in a day).
