Logs
TFTC no3 for today making the trip interesting I nearly gave up being a shortie but last try did the trick
#8188Day 1 of our Northern/Western NSW Roadtrip.Newcastle -> Dubbo via 2 missing LGAs.A rainy start has eventuated to be a reasonable day, not too hot nor cold, perfect for caching. Some long drives but a lot of caches too! end of copy paste Quick find here, all in pristine condition too! TNLN SLThanks for placing and maintaining this cache Burton's
#8188Day 1 of our back of Bourke road tripWere chasing LGAs from Coonamble to Kyogle this week, in the Dubbo region today finding whatever we can in warm conditions.Quite a fast find! We were concerned about this cache, it being only one of two in this remote LGA, so were happy to sign the log. Is there more than one cache at GZ now? - noting the recent replacement and the mismatch of electronic and paper logs now? Thanks for the cache!
It was late in the afternoon when we went to look for this cache. Thankfully the area was totally free of muggles, making for an uninterrupted search. After a short hunt, the new replacement cache was located. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks Burton's for the cache.
This cache was replaced recently by Golden Wattle. The cache is monitored closely by a family member.
Spending this unofficial 4 day weekend as a caching road trip through central NSW picking up a few unloved LGAs. We really enjoyed taking in the sights and feel of the country lifestyle. Thanks for contributing to our lovely weekend. We were almost ready to give up on this one when we found it on the ground. Placed it back in a corner.TFTC
TFTC smile 18409 ?? Out and about on a lovely day ?? having a great time finding a few caches heading to Adelaide for a few weeks then on our way to Canberra . Signing as 5 for QLD - Hatzofff Snickersallan RoddyC Imbunda. What a great team we made and lots of laughter and funThank you Burton's for placing this cache for our enjoyment ??????
An early morning start after our overnight stay. I am traveling with my friends, hatzofff, RoddyC, Snickersallan and grannysmith1947. We are signing all logs as "5 for QLD: to save space. All caches were found, signed and replaced as foundIt is very warm weather, but we are having fun finding different caches.
We are one our way to Adelaide for the leap Year Mega. After an early start from our overnight accommodation, we set off to find the caches on our target list. All caches were found and signed as "5 for QLD" for our traveling group of hatzofff (myself), RoddyC, Imbunda, Snickersallan and grannysmith1947.Our third day on the road and we are in Central NSW.
A Leap Year Mega draws us to Adelaide. Today's our intrepid group has our second full day of caching. We are using the Acronym 5 for QLD to sign the log sheets. Most of the caches this day were nice quick finds. And so happily I say that the logs were signed and caches replaced as found on this day, 22nd February 2024. TFTC, Burton's.
Heading to SA for the Mega event with geo friends and zigzagging our way around the countryside to grab a few LGA's and some targeted caches for a challenge or two. Staying at some lovely country towns and enjoying the local history in each place we ventured. To save space on log sheets, we used our team name of 5 for QLD.Most caches found were in good condition and a credit to the owners who have been maintaining them.Thank you for placing this cache for our benefit and enjoyment.
We had a long look and then phoned a friend. Their excellent notes confirmed this is likely to be missing. We checked on the ground nearby but still no luck.
Despite a thorough search, no luck here today. Spoke with a previous finder who had great hide notes and a photo. Sadly I think this looks like its missing.
Quick find while checking out the art work here on route to Lightening Ridge .TFTC
Another nice find for Grub62 after a short search. The old shelter is a bit dilapidated but it was built to last. Thanks for placing this cache and TFTC.
I found this cache first while bunadoorian was still looking elsewhere. After we had retrieved it and signed it we had a visit by a lovely local lady and her dog. We had a nice a chat. Once she had left I just had to replace the cache as found. TFTC and for bringing us here Burton's. I have loved the corrugated iron Galahs all around town.
On our way to Bathurst for the great race. Grabbing a few along the way. Caching with my partner Semik who came up with the good on this one. Log was totally full so we have replaced it with a new one. All good otherwise. Thanks for the cacheBurton's3 October 2023
Caching with Oddiewan with the Cache Crusader in tow. Were picking up caches in new-to-us LGAs in outback QLD and NSW on a two-week holiday. Stopped to look at the Ghost Bullock sculpture and saw the Emu paintings and murals and decided to complete the AL as well as this cache. Were only passing through, but what a strong art presence here!! Its delightful! Thanks for the fun, Burton's
I can't believe I found this in the first place I looked!!! I NEVER find nanos that quickly as a rule. I really enjoy my time in town - great street art, great cafe and a lovely river walk. TFTC
We had fun finding this one and I asked The_Evil_Muggle to do the reaching. His extra height is so useful! The log is full. I stamped over others to leave my mark. Unfortunately I didn’t have replacement papers to add to the cache.
Travelling with Geoturtle37, Papi4506 and the Drovers, our aim is to attend QOGM and then head for the northern tip of this great country. This was a really nice location. After completing the interesting ad lab, we came here to make this find with no difficulties. Thanks for placing the cache for us to find.
It didn't take to long to make this find in a lovely location. Thanks for placing the cache for us to find.
Heading to Longreach for the last QOGM with Team Crackers, Geoturtle37 and Papi4506.We stopped along the way to pick up a few caches and signed the log as PDGC.(Papi Drovers Geoturtle Crackers)Thanks to all the Co's for making this trip, more enjoyable. Signed and replaced as found.
We are heading up to Longreach for the last QOGM with The Drover, Geoturtle37 and Papi4506 naturally stopping to grab any caches that come on the map aiming to get as many LGA's as we can.
This was an LGA that all four teams wanted to cross off the list so this was to be our next stop.
We started out doing the lab cache learning more about the towns art and once that was finished we headed over to this one.
There was a guy plyaing a wood instrument off in the distance but he was far more interested in what he was doing rather than what we were doing and happily with this many eyes looking the cache turned into a relatively quick find.
After adding our acronym to the log we returned everything as it was.
We were wishing that it was a couple of hours later as this would have been an ideal place to have dinner.
To save room in the log we signed PDGC (Papi Drove Geoturtle Crackers)
Many thanks Burton's for the cache.

After adventuring too far our tall nimble friend finally found it, good find if you want to wreck your brain
We were going to give this one a miss as we drove through heading north but then could not resist a photo opportunity at the bullock team on the side of the highway. Having already stopped we decided to detour into town to check out the main street and after a quick check on the phone realised that we closer than we realised to the cache - a quick visit was in order. TFTC.

Departing Melbourne the other day and travelling north for the winter, well, for the northern warmth actually (hopefully ), passing through as many small towns as I can grabbing the odd cache here and there as I travel. Leaving Tullibigeal this morning and travelling through Condobilin, the Geographic Center of NSW, Tottenham, Nevertire, Warren, Gulargambone and finishing up in Coonamble, I'll be heading off in the morning, north again .
A nice quick but very sneaky find today, I just hppened to poke my finger in the correct spot

I wanted to get this county, so needed this cache , lucky Mr Minion is tall. Thanks for the cache tnln replaced as found sl
Thought we'd take a drive to Gular to find it's only cache . . . And we couldn't find it. Looked everywhere that matched the hint then started on the ground. Found the bottom laying under a seat, the log in four pieces on the grass and the lid further over on the cement. We left a small roll of paper as a replacement log and replaced the cache in the hide we thought had potential at the start. TFTC Burton's.
TFTC Burton’s. Excellent placement! Log full. Had to overwrite an old faded log. Jimmytherat with Noelle04
Thanks Burton’s, found with Jimmytherat on our NSW Silo At road trip. Day 6. Nice spot for a hide in this interesting little town.
A trip to Perth checking out some of the awesome places along the way in ACT, NSW, Qld and NT. Grabbing some old caches and missing LGAs. TFTC.

1600kms drive from Brisbane to canberra - with an overnight roadside camp halfway. Picked up a few new counties this trip, including this one a little off the track for me. What a lovely little town.
Thanks Burton's for entertaining me at this location.

Nice easy find, but I think my fat fingers are you to start avoiding micros after the struggle I just had to get the log back into the cache
Found easily. All is good here. What a wonderful park and playground! The post office here has some wonderful gift items too. Worth a look

Tftc Burton's, we have made a massive detour to look for your cache and make a find in this LGA, and to do the lab here.
The cache was easily located.
A mobile farrier was at work in the park.
Thanks for maintaining this one

This cache sees me complete my NSW LGA challenge. It took a few minutes to find, and I would have looked for hours if need be. Fave point for finishing a challenge that has taken 8 years.
Quick find and use of basic tool with tassie expat while passing through. Accurate coords and in good condition. Thanks for placing it.
A quick find with frmen1. The park was empty thankfully. Needed a TOTT to get cache out...there's a few around if needed. TFTC
We were here in Gulargambone 3 years ago and loved it so back again now as a geocacher, we are from Melbourne and travelling through to QLD, this is the first cache we have found in NSW. We are staying here overnight at the Caravan park.
TFT tricky little find.
TFT tricky little find.
4th time is a charm.
I pass through here quite often and every time I do, I come for a look, but muggles or floods have kept my record at DNF.
But mid week, middle of the day and no floods... Today was my day.
On the way home from the Townsville Mega and a graduation ceremony, the GPS Maze and us needed a break, so we pulled up and while Mrs Juc arranged food, I took way longer than I should have hunting, before finding the little devil in the obvious place I'd checked at least 3 times before
Finally got this one off my dnf list. Thanks for the fun. All good with the cache.

Day 2 of our trek to the Townsville Mega and back with fitzy_1965 and two of my geo-kids Death_killer & my_name_jeff_1.
Today we headed on north up as far as Lightning Ridge. We definitely took the tourist route: visiting Dubbo, Dunedoo, Gilgandra and Gulargambone along the way. The rain was intermittent throughout the day which helped us decide to choose another cabin instead of the tent again. We also picked up a large chip in the windscreen, but a piece of weatherproof tape did the trick in stopping further cracking.
All caches were found quickly and easily unless otherwise mentioned.

27,392. Found with minniek during our Grand Townsville Trek up to CacheQLD's Townsville Mega Event over Easter.
Day 2 of our Townsville Trek, and our first full day on the road. After spending the night at Wellington, we headed up to Dubbo, a side trip to Dunedoo, then on to Gilgandra, Gulargambone and finally Lightning Ridge. For this cache - with this being the only cache in the entire County it was a must do. Thankfully it was a pretty quick find in a place where it obviously lasts which is great. Signed the log, replaced the cache as found, then continued along to the next cache on our list.
Thanks Burton's !! Fav Point !

Love all the corrugated galahs (and real ones) as we drove into town.
This cache could’ve taken ages to find but glad it didn’t. It was in the first place we looked.
Log was full so we replaced it. All good to go again now.
