Found it! Came up this way for the day to meet Mum at the end of her final section of the Heysen Trail. Quick find here. TFTC!
Well camouflaged cache, awesome spot! Found with PSGV1 as we stretch our legs on our way back to Adelaide. TFTC
Inside or outside? That was the question. And guess what? We chose the wrong one. But made good our mistake and found it in a fairly obvious place although not visible from the road. TFTC.
On our travels we found ourselves in hawker and took the opportunity to grab a few caches this was a nice quick find but then found ourselves wandering around for some time, thanks for placing g this cache
Once upon a misty morning, a group of geocaching enthusiasts embarked on a peculiar adventure to uncover hidden treasures amidst the crumbling tombstones of an ancient cemetery. Armed with GPS devices and a sense of curiosity as vast as the sprawling graveyard itself, they set out to unravel the mysteries that lay dormant among the forgotten graves. The leader of the expedition, known affectionately as Captain Cache, sported a hat adorned with trinkets collected from previous geocaching conquests. His trusty sidekick, GeoGuru, boasted a vast knowledge of navigation and a knack for deciphering cryptic clues. Together, they formed an unstoppable duo ready to tackle any challenge thrown their way.As they ventured deeper into the cemetery, the atmosphere grew increasingly eerie. Wisps of fog danced among the tombstones like spectral phantoms, casting long shadows over the moss-covered graves. But the geocachers pressed on, undeterred by the spine-tingling sensation that crept up their spines.Their first clue led them to a weathered mausoleum, its stone faade worn by centuries of neglect. With trembling hands, they pried open the door and entered the dimly lit chamber within. Cobwebs adorned the corners like delicate lace, and the scent of dust hung heavy in the air.Hidden amidst the cobwebbed corners, they discovered a small chest adorned with ornate carvings. Inside, nestled among ancient relics and forgotten trinkets, lay the coveted geocachea tiny container brimming with treasures waiting to be uncovered. But their adventure had only just begun. With each clue they unearthed, the geocachers delved deeper into the cemetery's secrets, uncovering tales of love, loss, and the passage of time etched into the weathered tombstones. At last, as the sun dipped below the horizon and cast long shadows over the cemetery, they unearthed the final cachea tiny vial containing a message from geocachers of the past, congratulating them on their perseverance and inviting them to continue their quest for adventure. With hearts full of excitement and minds ablaze with curiosity, the geocachers bid farewell to the ancient cemetery, knowing that they had left their mark on its timeless landscapeand that the spirits of those who rested there would forever whisper tales of their daring escapade among the graves.Come visit SA's longest running annual event -GCAK1D5- keep the weekend free - 7th - 10th June 2024 Can't wait!!2396
#5278 Decided to leave our campsite at Horseshoe for the day and explore the wider area and head north to see the spectacular scenery that is the Flinders Ranges, one of our favourite areas.A fascinating site we enjoyed exploring. Resting in a harsh environment with a speccy backdrop. TFTC pkhearn.
Travelling with richlink from Perth to Darwin up along the west coast and home again through the centre and the Nullarbor, picking up caches along the way. We headed off on a round trip from Hawker to Parachilna Gorge. The scenery was absolutely stunning, we also enjoyed the old railway line all the history along the way. Thanks for the cache pkhearn.
Travelling with iluvtrekking up the WA coast to Darwin, down the Centre and now in the Flinders Ranges. We haven’t been further than Hawker on previous trips and are in awe of the stunning scenery. Thanks for the hide.
What a gorgeous setting. Wonder why the separate ones up the other end? Does anyone know the name of this cemetery? Took TB. Thanks
We are heading home from our two weeks exploring the Outback. Thanks for bringing us here, would have not even noticed this place otherwise.
Geo-Eyes helped me today. Cache is hidden where I would have hidden it. I had a double thrill with this cache, 1. the find itself and 2. It's a cache listed as Regular that really is a Regular size instead of a Small size. All good at GZ. Cache is in excellent condition. SL TN L a 2 cent coin. Two TB visited.
With geodog Tonka on a perfect caching weather day
Out doing my 2 favourite things Driving and caching

Wonderful outlook and chance for a wander. Great idea having a pencil sharpener with the log.
Having a great stay at this beautiful station. Nice to add a cache to the trip. TFTH
Our final day of our epic Flinders trip with Mattycat and Perfect Di, collected this one as we started our homeward leg, so many lonely resting places dotted through here, checked out some of the years on the gravestones and of course found your cache

Heading to Melrose after staying at Merna Mora for a few nights. Got a few caches along the way, a few cool little spots. TFTC
Catching up on some logging of found caches after being in no internet reception terrain for some days. This adventure was with ilook4geo and all logs found were signed to mark our visit before all was put back as it had been found. Thanks go to pkhearn for placing this cache.
Working on the backlog of caches found with goingplaces2. Not a lot of caches found as we head away from populated areas. Thanks to each CO for adding to the caching game. Cache found, log signed, job done!
Found with Mosaikmum and Agelessone while on our holiday trip through Queensland, central Australia, Flinders Ranges and Broken Hill Picked up TB GEOPUP TFTC
Great views. What’s the story with the ‘loner’ separate from the others, I wonder? Saw six birds of prey here including Wedge-Tailed Eagles. TFTC.
Wandering around State for a couple of weeks and caching along the way we stopped here for lunch. T.F.T.C
So much history to stop and notice in this region- mostly about everyday people and misplaced optimism on what would succeed in this remote location. Thanks for the hide.
Took Mogni for a trip to the Flinders Rangers for the long weekend with extra day either side. The target for the trip was to clear some of the " used to be a church " micro series on the way up and on the back as well, complete a couple of station tracks plus hike to Blinman Pools. We where not expecting a couple of 34 degree days then a 30 km wind dust storm followed by rain over night and then the wilpenda pound walls covered in fog for the next 1/2 a day. It did change our plans a little and the order we did things. All containers we found damaged, broken, cracked were replaced and were possible ( if not soaked ) original log books were kept. Any log books found full were replaced or if room had extra scrolls added in to the cache.
A long weekend away with sir_spectre in the Flinders Ranges. We had each been here before and strangely had few double ups so some revisiting was in order to try to get our maps similar. The weather threw everything at us but we just made our plans suit the conditions. Lots of 4WD and walks included.

A quick find on the way to Innaminka. What a sad and forlorn place to end up. Many thanks for the cache.
Found during a circuit while we toured the Flinders Ranges, Marree, Roxby Downs, Woomera and Port Augusta for the week, mostly touring the backroads and visiting many scenic and interesting locations. Thanks for the cache pkhearn!
Nomads travelling in their caravan around Australia. We have been on the road since July 2011 and discovered caching in August 2013. We travel with a bunch of travel bugs belonging to our sons and grand children. Where ever possible, we will maintain your cache as we travel.
After our overnight pie stop in Farina, it was back on the Barndioota Road towards Quorn.
We worked at Parachilna a few years ago (pre caching) and travelled this road a lot, but there is still lots to see, thanks to caching. Never spotted this cemetery before. Thanks for the hide and the opportunity to stop here pkhearn.

After completing another section of the HEYSEN TRAIL, a 4WD was an easier option to get around. With Malco! onboard many caches were found. Thanks
An amazing little hidden gem.
Full of untold history.
To see the old tabacco tin, the nuts n bolts, the old railway fittings, to the old railway lock.
The very interesting, old, pioneering cemetery with rich contrasting colours of the mountain ranges in the background.
To the old holding yards with hand drilled holes for holding cattle and sheep from days gone by.
To the workers and the pioneers of the district we certainly honour your efforts and determination to succeed in such harsh environments.
Thanks for sharing this interesting historical spot, a time to reflect.
We found your cache tucked away nicely and with signing duties done and we replaced the cache as found.

I've driven past this cache a number of times and didn't notice the nearby cemetery. Stopped in today and was surprised to find this lonely, unnamed resting spot. TFTC.

What is the history of this site, there must have been a settlement near by? Any clues fellow catchers??
The Big Western Australia trip in 2018. Day 42. After a quiet night in William Creek I continued South via Marree and Lyndhurst to just North of Hawker for a very cold night.
I enjoyed the walk in the gathering gloom to this one. It is always moody in a graveyard in the evening. I found the cache ok, and then went a few more kays down the road and stopped for the night.
Thanks.

Had a look around the headstones before getting the smiley. What a tough place to have lived back then.
Today we are travelling from Hawker to Leigh Creek and the clouds look like they are lifting so hopefully we will drive out of the rain today picking up a cache of two along the way in this scenic area.
We arrived here and were surprised at the variety of different head stones and also of the dates of the deaths, we thought that they may have been older than this but there is a lot of open area so perhaps there are unmarked graves that we don't know about, none the less it was still an interesting visit.
We must be suffering a little bit from cache blindness as we missed the cache on our first search around gz but when we cam back it was one of those "doh" moments when we spotted the obvious hide and not long after we were adding our name to the log.
Thank pkhearn for the cache.

On our way to Alice Springs for the Event over Easter using the back roads from Canberra. Apologies for my generic log but this is the first opportunity to log caches as we have been on the Oodnadatta Track.
Tricked myself with this one. Once I took notice of Monty , aka my GPSr, it was a quick find and after signing duties were completed the cache was returned to its hidey hole. TFTC SL
