Well Ricky, I found your cash but that took Eternity at least 30 minutes to figure out where I needed to be.I was all over it but not in the country, I mean the correct area, thanks Rikki

Out caching with Everesthigh, Brewmaker, JG9172 and Jackscruff this morning. The weather got quite hot and humid, but we had a great day with lots of geochat and laughs.Oh my gosh did we make this cache harder than it needed to be, we went off track and bush bashed up. At one point I got bitten by an ant, it hurt so bad, and my ankle got all swollen and was still burning and swollen the next day, So I was very glad when Jackscruff yelled out found it and we could get back to the track. Thanks for the cache Rikki tnln replaced as found sl

Finally we made it down into the Pass. It's a lovely area of bushland. I don't recall seeing any weeds anywhere along the walk!I might be the shortest and consequently the slowest in our group, BEJJM but my caching instincts are definitely good. As we headed along the track there was plenty of discussion about where to go off to get to GZ. The other 4 decided at 30 to 40m from GZ that there was a way we should be following. Well my GPS was pointing in a different direction, so I followed it then sat down in the shade for a well earned drink. I considered the rocks above and where the GPS was pointing, just 8m, read a few logs and headed off on my own track towards GZ.I think they were all very surprised when I called out "Found It"!Everyone made their way to me while I signed the log, for the group.TFTC # 576

No problems here, when at right level. Came down track from Blaxland School track. Signed and replaced. Tftc

28-Sep-19
Well, this one was a little hairier than I expected, although, that was mostly because I chose the wrong level to leave the track. Once I figured out my mistake and actually left the track where I should have it was a much better.
Picked up TB.

Enjoyable walk to the cache. We walked down into Florebella Pass from behind the public school in Blaxland, followed the houses for a while and then steeply down to the trail. Great views and a good workout. Lovely and shady in the gully and after crossing the creek and a steep walk up on the otherside, once at gz we had the cache quickly in hand. Left a tb.

Thanks for bringing us here

#5,295

We continued along the track to this second cache. I was really enjoying this track, despite having to be really careful with my steps due to really slippery leaves (it rained earlier this morning).

Bikerbuddy got FTF on this cache years ago, and said he had a clear memory of where this cache was. But when we got to GZ, he said the whole area had changed, and that the cache was not where he remembered it being. We looked around the area he remembered for some time, then read some previous logs. Team Merlin mentioned ducking under a fallen tree, so we went back up the track slightly and spotted a fallen tree. I went up that way & spotted some tell tale camo.

We wondered if the CO had changed the hide position, as it was so different to bb's memory.

Thanks Smile

Today we planned a nice walk through Florabella Pass. After getting off the train at Warrimoo station we first walked a few hundred meters through the residential area before heading down into the bush.

After our earlier snake encounter I was not too happy to walk 20 meters off the trail through thick terrain. But the geocache was too tempting so I gave it a go!

After some searching we spotted the box. Great hide!

#1158 got a message did I want to go after some caches around Warrimoo haven't been there for a while so met up with teamMerlin and Splitty Miller JJCC at the end of Florabella Street. Our second stop was to look for this cache.

Searching for this cache we ducked under a large fallen tree luckily came up near the cache hide as spotted something almost natural but telltale signs for caching and soon had the container in hand. Signed the log and replaced as found. Both the cache and log are in good condition. Thanks for the cache Rikki

The following TBs visited for the distance - 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, & 2016 phlphotos NSW geocoins, phlphotos' Spindoc Bob Memorial Geocoin & Rainbow Spirit’s Caching Dilemma's Geocoin,Help for Heroes Geocoin, Heart Strings, Matsi's First Geocoin, Jasmer Geocoin & Kitac 2

With our target cache for this afternoon being the nearby Looking out the Backdoor, we meet up with JJCC and phlphotos and parked at the end Florabella Street. On our way out we extended our trip a little and stopped off and looked for this cache.

After crawling under a large fallen tree we popped up right near the cache hide and spotted some telltale signs and soon had the container in hand. After all signing the log we replaced as found. Both the cache and log are in good condition.

The following TBs came through for the mileage: Bob geoMinion, Dave geoMinion, Evil geoMinion, Jerry geoMinion, Larry geoMinion, Stuart geoMinion, teamMerlin's 7 Deadly Ducks Tag (Lust), The Hulk & Vanlith The Youngling.

Find #5 today. The geocaching gods were on my side this afternoon for sure. At first i was unsure about which level to attempt but judging by the amount of bushwhacking required I opted for the easier one and quickly found the cache from there. TFTC!

MrT was doing the Florabella Track walk on his own this morning. Entered from the Ross Street end, and headed to Florabella Forgotten Realm first. Following the track out and back on to the main track, he headed on to this one. Looking at the info, he thought it would be straight forward, but coming from this direction, the trail off the main track is not obvious. Looking around, he widened his search and finally found a vague trail that would be more obvious from the Warrimoo end. Located the cache and headed on. TFTC

After the find here I could here walkers coming along the track.i couldn't believe it,it was my old next door neighbor I lived next to for 18 years and haven't seen for about 20.
Neither of us live in the mountains anymore so to catch up all the way down here was really bizarre.
Great stop down here.

A return to Florabella Pass to redeem the previous dnf ... and looking back at the dnf log it does seem remarkable that the cache was not sighted. Accompanied with yttam who was but steps ahead, his cry that it was sitting in the open was a surprise. After the log was signed an effort was made to camo hide the cache - whether where the CO had first placed ìs problematic. TFTC Rikki ... tis a lovely local walk. Smile

An enjoyable run through Florabella pass with whitemushroom this morning.

Yesterday afternoon I decided to shoot 'the fungus' a Facebook message asking if he was up to anything today. He said he was work-free, so 10am at Nature's Balcony (had a maintenance check to do) was the meeting point, before we shot up the mountain to Warrimoo.

I'd already been down here (for the first third of the series anyway) with iker1995, where we made a quick find, but were strapped for time. We turned back on that occasion, this time I guided whitemushroom to the cache before we continued into the sunlight around the ridge.

We ticked down the meters, found one snake of the many that will be emerging after Winter. Looked brown, but I'd rather not know.

Cache was found within seconds, strangely lying in plain sight. We placed a guard rock in front of where we found it just in case, and moved on to the final challenge.

I just got my car back from repairs. What better way to celebrate than driving it to the bush and go for a walk!?
I have been eying off the caches along this track for a while. Today was the day to clear the area.
I made my way down into the valley, and read on my topo that the track followed the creek. WHY THEN DID IT GO ALL THE WAY UP THE OTHER SIDE?
After a good struggle I was near gz, and a good feature there to hide a cache. I found a dinosaur TB inside that wasn't logged.
Thanks for the cache.

Had a spare hour to find a cache this afternoon & take the geodog for a walk.

Its been a while since I was this far along the pass. I actually forgot how far up the track went before dipping back down into Glenbrook Creek.

A 45 minute return trip back to Warrimoo PS.

After this cache I have one more cache to complete all the caches in the pass.

Also thought this was a suitable cache to drop off the cockaroach TB.

Out caching with Dragonhaunt and SuperSuz. After completely missing the track and pushing through the undergrowth by the creek for the a while, we rediscovered the track and attempted to follow it up to this cache. Spent ages looking for it until Dragonhaunt left us for a while and we heard his cries of success. So many great hiding spots in this area, a hard but fun search.

27-Jul-13
We had already past the suggested crossing and track marker well before I read enough of the description to load them up as waypoints, so we continued plodding along the river. We may or may not have crossed where you suggested but it still wasn't too difficult a walk and eventually we stumbled upon another track marker about 20~40 metres from GZ. Hunting alongside SuperSuz and SwiftThistle we each took a different level while the GPS(es?) went crazy.

Lots of potential hiding spots, and I am glad that it was not the cobweb-filled crack in the rock I saw before finding the correct hidey hole.

Second DNF on the Pass ... not sure whether close, but scrambled up and along and around, till a decision made that on my own, 'tis no place for a Geoinjury in the wet leaf litter. For another day (with someone holding my hand) ... Enjoyed the walk in thoroughly, with the flora changing so much on this side of the creek. Retraced my steps back out, most happy with the Geowalk. TFTC Rikki.

Found @ 1350hrs. We've walked in Florabella many times, but never come up this path. It was a really different biotype to the valley below, cool to see the change in plant life so suddenly. Nice quick easy find; rocks, leaves, dirt, trees, plastic. Wait, what? The container was slightly poking out from it's hiding spot, but we replaced it so it can't be seen. Left Benzito's Compass Rose Micro GC, TNSL.
TFTC and the cool new track to explore Rikki. (We will follow this further some time in the future)

Left home early this morning in a hope to grab a couple of caches along this walk. Started behind Blaxland library with Bisygisy as he need to grab the nearby Devil Woman cache as well. We headed off by torch light and it was still dark when we got to the closest point of Devil Woman while still on the track. Not wanting to go searching in the dark, we decided to push on to the other caches along here. A lovely walk along this track and we eventually arrived at the junction of the turnback track to Florabella Forgotten Realm. Bisygisy waited here and had a drink while I ran ahead and found this cache. A quick grab and sign and I was running back down the track to catch up with Bisygisy. Would have liked a little more time to explore this spot, but seemed quite nice. TFTC.

My third trip down the Florabella Pass. Walked past Florabella Forest and continued across the creek. Kept on thinking I had to walk along the creek. Soon discovered that I should keep to the track and continue up the hill. Once near GZ about 20m a green snake scuttled across the track from up the hill at great speed I might add. It heightened my senses when exploring around GZ. Eventually found the cache after changing levels. TFTC.

Like RAGs before me, I sat next to the 'Florabella Forest' cache for a while, gazing across the little stream and wondering if I should ascend to the start of the trail -- or push on for another 475 metres to attempt to find 'Florabella Forest' by the same CO.

In the end, being lazy, I decided that I didn't want to descend all those steps again in the near future, and pushed on. Straightaway, I got into trouble. I missed the correct trail (cross the stream after the 'Forest' GZ and look for the giant black stump) and bush bashed for some 300 metres until I accidentally ran into the trail again about 150 metres from GZ.

The CO says that this cache adventure will take you to places that few locals ever see. Well, I went to places this afternoon that nobody except the wallabies ever see! Anyhow, it was a good bush experience.

Stay on the well-formed trail (easy to follow after you cross the creek) until you get really close to GZ. There's no need to bush bash more than 20 metres or even less. The hiding place is a good one -- not too easy but not too hard either. The cache container was in good shape and the contents were dry. Picked up the 'Norfolk County Council' TB to move along. LNSL.

Many thanks to Rikki for leading me down this trail into a very beautiful, very remote place. I feel very fortunate to have experienced it.

Came in from Baden Place as it looked the closest parking area and there was a small track heading in the correct direction. Hmmm, well the track only lasted about 30m then turned in the wrong direction so I thought a Sunday afternoon is a good time for some "up close and personal with nature time" and decided to bush bash it. Didn't estimate the direct distance very well and what I thought (250m) would put me near the bottom of the gully was way out. So after a steep climb down and out of the gully (thankfully not to the top of the ridge), I was finally just 10m above the GZ. Took about 20min rest to catch my breath before setting off for "looking out my back door" and noticed a lovely track only 30m from the GZ. I must have crossed it at some point, but I obviously didn't notice it as significent. Left a Canadian pin and a Frog. Took the Austrian MegaEvent GeoCoin "PINZGAU 2010" as I thought it was very appropiate that this coin was at the Megaevent in Austria exactly one year ago (28-30 May 2010). Thanks Rikki for an excellent Cache and a great bush-bash. (No leeches today). cache in good condition and dipped a couple of my coins to record the event.

Another great cache and a brilliant walk. I was so busy looking at the compass on the gps that I wasn't looking around. Brother Bruwstera and geonephews spotted the likely spot and were off retrieving the cache while I was still following the compass. Great fun. Thanks Rikki for the cache.

Another find with Wackydo!! I have to agree with "Josh Hoogs" on 2 of his points. "A beautiful walk in this area" and "May I suggest a third cache to the Florabella Pass??". How about a trifecta Rikki. This has been a great double so far. The walk is so beautiful that I could spend more time in here searching for caches. Hey, I have an idea! If I place a cache here, I could come and maintain it? Maybe? Anyway, it was another great hide from Rikki. TFTC TNLN.

11-Mar-11
As the first one with this Florabella series. A beautiful walk in this area. GPS signal was better than near the creek crossings and made narrowing down on GZ easier. Neat hide once again from Rikki. Although they were reasonably easy, the walk in is so rewarding. Again like he first one, beautiful track as always! Took Drummer guy? left 2 magnets. TFTC Rikki. May I suggest a third cache to the Florabella Pass??

Thanks for the cache. Another great spot in the Blue Mountains that locals don't travel to. Thanks.

After finding Florabella forest, we continued to find this cache after some scrambling and falling over. The tree cover and clouds didn't do wonders for the GPS signal but after some searching some likely spots we had cache in hand. Again - TFTC!

We were busted on this one by a group of geocachers behind us. We found the cache, quickly signed the log, and took off out of there before we gave too much away! Thanks for taking us down Florabella Pass - a part of the world w've never seen before.

25-Nov-10
Having just completed the other Florabella cache I headed off towards this one in the dead of night. I struggled for a short while to find the track across the creek but then the torch bounced off the illuminated track markers and I was on my way again.

The noise of the highway can still be heard down here and ocassionally an owl bellowed out its cry. I had to share the track with the hundreds of spiderwebs that had been built to catch the night prey, but other than that this stretch of the walk was no different to the trek down from the car.

At GZ I had a little trouble getting a fix on the exact location but eventually I was completing the logging details. Finding the track out again required me to use the track file mapped ontot he gps but I was soon on the right route and heading back to the car.

2 very enjoyable caches complete, all by the dead of night. Thanks

Continued on from Florabella Forest, and the creek crossing had me scratching my head for a while, just where was the right spot to cross?
Finally on my way in the right direction, and the cache was soon in hand after some huffing and puffing.
A really nice spot, and rarely visited going by the lightly used tracks. Thanks for adding these caches to the listings.

Did the walk around to this one and arrived to find this area disturbed as well, not as badly as the last one but again with pulled out rocks smashed on the ground and trodden fauna. Again the cache was fine last log being that of Team Altaire, not sure what's going on here it was a little disappointing to see in an otherwise beautiful spot, Glad I did the walk in just the same as I was rewaded with lyrebird song and many small birds flitting around on the forest floor....magic..... Thanks for bringing me here Rikki well done TNLNBig GrinBig Grin

After completing the "Forest" cache we continued on along the excellent track, across the creek and on to this one. It's a meander as easy as it is pleasant. Though the day was quite sunny it was also very cool and down here twixt the ridges quite shadeful. We sought in vain for a sunny spot to partake of luncheon and had to settle for a dappled spot on the track itself. The cache was a quick find in a reasonably obvious area to search. Nice spot. We made no swaps however picked up the very recently dropped off Mork the Frog TB.

An easy find and a nice walk. Dropped off a trackable into this one. Must do the rest of the walk sometime.

This was my 2nd cache find for today. This one took some searching trampling about in the bush which was like the other one nearby. It's a pity that this happens as reception is not real good in both GZs areas and requires a lot of trampling to seek out the caches. There are numerous paths already forming in both location as others search. Anyway I eventually found this cache at 13:00. TNLN

I was having one of those days, could not find the trail, started back toward Warrimoo, then thought how silly it was and turned back. Noticed the trail markers at the turn off, which I somehow missed the first time and got on the right track.
By the time I decided to check the GPSr I had walked well past the cache, so back again until I found GZ. Still well worth the effort, that's when I realized that Rikki had thoughtfully provided the waypoint in the description, you live and learn (in my case not!).
Took nothing, left Rumble Yowie TB, also Yowie and Olympic pin.
Thanks for the great location, I went on to Blaxland, what an amazing track, loved every minute of it I am so glad I changed my mind and went back.

I'm trying to catch up on past logs today. I've let 140 caches pass without logging them. So I can't say anything specific about your cache. I'm only 10 years old, and while I love caching, I sometimes like doing other things rather than logging my finds when I get home. Sorry. Thanks for putting your cache out for me to enjoy.

Found a little after the sister cache on this walk. Ran into another hiker with his dog just as we were leaving the track. After an enjoyable chat about the surrounding forest and the prospects of a trip to Nepal we parted ways to soon have cache in hand. Not particularly difficult find at all, but did walk a little high and had to leap back down to cache level. Had we more time I would have liked to walk the track in it's entirety, but that will have to wait for another day...

I tried to get the sister cache, Florabella Forest, before this one, but couldn't locate it. I was up on the rocks when some bushwalkers passed below me and then came back, looking for the creek crossing. I followed a few minutes later and walked the track until I was close to this one. This is a beautiful forest and, I have to admit, I've never been down here, despite living in Springwood. I managed to do Riblit's nearby cache a couple of months ago by coming along the 4WD track from Greens Road, so I bypassed this option. Thankfully this was a nice easy find. In fact, it was in the first place I looked, so if anyone comes down to do these two caches, they're at least guaranteed of finding one. Thanks Rikki for a pleasant walk on a Sunday morning.[^]
