Still travelling from Perth to Shark Bay we of course decide to stop at the Pinnacles Desert. What amazing spot !!! Never see that before of course and so incredible !!! I favorite of course.
Enjoyed our trip to the Pinnacles and answered the questions for this earthcache. Thnx a lot!
Today, we visit the Pinnacles again (including the Discovery Center). It was rainy and cold, but great. Yesterday, we enjoyed the sunset here.Answers sent via Geocache messenger.#289
Thanks to a great visit here. I did not know anything about this place so it comes as a pleasant surprise. Thanks AusTrackers for the Earthcache here.
#5918 This was a bucket list destination before leaving our home in NE Vic for our 2 month WA adventure and this area did not disappoint. What a spectacular scene. Can imagine it would be even better to visit at sunrise or sunset. Answers sent. TFTC AusTrackers, an enjoyable EC which helped us understand the geology and surprising conjecture surrounding how the Pinnacles have been formed, a fave from us.
What a magnificent place to visit! We are so glad we made the trip here from Perth on our little Aussie holiday from New Zealand. TFTC
We were mesmerised by the Pinnacles. Highlight of our trip to WA. Could have spent days here.
This was amazing!! I could spend all day here! We came back to watch the sunset. It did not disappoint!! This is one of my new fav places! I think it is second only to Carnarvon Gorge in QLD as far as most amazing place so have been in Australia. Of course everyone is different and others would strongly disagree, but this is my humble opinion! Great to get a smiley souvenir from the day! Sorry for the late post, we have been on holiday and signal has not always been great so I am filling in all of the earth caches now!
Veni. Vidi. Vici. Scripsi. Staying in Jurien Bay for a couple of nights as we slowly head to Perth and decided that today we would head to the Pinnacles for a look. Was absolutely stunned by what we saw. It is truly an amazing location.Went to the visitors centre first but missed the details needed there. Went to the listed coordinates and got the required info, then had to double back to the visitor centre to get the information there. Finally, headed off for the amazing drive around the area. Lots of photos, none of which will ever do justice to the area. Sent the answers.Fave for the earthcache Gratias pro earthcache AusTrackers
On our Australian trip . After started for some days in Darwin we are on the road to Perth now .On the Road after Katherine we have seen Edith Falls, Kunnurra and Bungles Bungle. Finally we cross the Pentecost-river to enter the Gibb RiverRoad . A lot to see like Emma Falls, El Questro, Mitchel Falls, Manning Gorge, Galvans Gorge, Bell Gorge, Tunnel Creek and Windjana Gorge .Now return on the sealed road again . Further over Derby, Broome, Port Hedland, Karratha, a sidekick to Karijini NP, Exmouth, Coral Bay, Carnarvan, Geraldton, Ellendale Pool, Lake Indoon, Cervantes and the rest down the coast to Perth .Today there was no wind anymore and also no rain, so we headed for the pinnacles. Impressive .TFTC# 17'427
Found this as we firstly drove around then walked to the discovery center before going up the nearby path to overlook the site . This was a follow on from a morning tour of the southern section of the park so a very pinnacle day all round. Answers sent TFTC
TFTC! Wow just amazing being here to see these. Really enjoyed the whole experience this afternoon.
A caching trip from Canberra, ACT to Cape York, Qld and then around the gulf to East Arnhem Land, NT then over the top of WA and down to Perth.Interesting detours to Thursday Island, Mabuiag Island, Mornington Island, Doomadgee, Hells Gate, Nhulunbuy, Wadeye, Litchfield National Park, Wyndham, the Gibb River Road, Monkey Mia, Meekatharra, Wiluna, Laverton, Warburton, Kargoorlie, Westonia, Goomalling, Kalannie, Jurien Bay & The Pinnacles.TFTC. This place is amazing. Some guy decided to take his huge camper van around the drive. He is now stuck.
Wow! I was blown away by the sheer size of the area, full of Pinnacles. They are an impressive sight to see, so many of the scattered over the sand dunes, it's a worthwhile visit and I'm so pleased I've had the opportunity to see it. Thanks for highlighting!
We sent answers but have had no reply. Logging tonight as we leave Perth to head home to Aotearoa. Came up here for the day yesterday for a look, what an impressive place! Thanks for the Earth cache.
TFTC #211 ?? (ORIGINAL DATE: 7/1/24 ANSWERS SENT, NO RESPONSE IN 3 DAYS)~~~~~~~~~~~Today visiting The Pinnacles (did the two caches) and the area around! On a vacation in the Perth area all the way from Hawaii! Australia has been so cool!Learning about the formation of the Pinnacles is very interesting ??. TFTC!
We 'rocked' up to the Pinnacles early, too early for anyone to be on the entry, but as we have a yearly NP pass we drove on in. The driving track was closed due to rain.. I'm surprised there even is a driving track in such a unique geological area. We had planned to walk so it was a bonus to not have to watch out for cars. The Pinnacles are fascinating.. so many over such a huge area... and a desert so close to the ocean...? What an amazing place! TFTEC AusTrackers. Answers have been sent.
Found 12:29Three months of travelling in Western Australia with Muggle friends from the East coast; stopover in Singapore on the outward and return flights. Caches and labs where they are on the way and can be done without too much effort. You may forgive me for using the same standard phrase everywhere, but there's not much more to it than that. Many thanks to all the owners for making our hobby possible. If there is anything wrong with the cache, more detailed information follows.
We completed the cache in January, but we forgot to log it. We'll do that here. TFTC

We've been keen to come visit The Pinnacles ever since we came to W.A. When we arrived, we unhitched the caravan in the carpark as recommended and headed into the park to exclaim at this amazing scenery. We're so glad we came to see this place!

A fantastic spot. Answers collected and sent.
Heading south and another beautiful place.
Thanks
Brad and Janet are on another epic journey. This time it involves many of Len Beadell’s 6500km of roads including the Anne Beadell, the Connie Sur, the Heather, the Neale, the Gun Barrel Highway, the Gary, the Talawana Track, the Gary Junction Rd and more.
And of course a 2 day visit to Maralinga which Len also located, surveyed and largely built as he had with Woomera and Emu. An amazing man.
If you don’t know of him he wrote some wonderful books. Laconic with a dry sense of wit, they are an excellent read. They are also available as audiobooks as is a recording of his brilliant after dinner talk one evening in Shepparton. Worth a listen.
And now the Moon Tours trip is over we are heading back to Adelaide via whichever way takes our fancy after a few days rest and repair in Karratha. Almost certainly down the WA Coast before heading to Hyden and the land of the Salmon Gums.

Totally fascinating! Love exploring these sites - WA Parks have done a sensational job making this amazing place accessible. It’s a real plus to be here at Nambung in this extraordinary place. Have travelled WEST from home base 3500 km away and that includes altitude as well so enjoying the landscape and habitat changes of this BIG country. TFTC - a FAVE for location!
One of our many stop off points whilst exploring the west coast by camper van. On our way back to Perth now and our adventure is nearly over. It’s been a great trip! Thanks for setting this cache. Answers sent.

On the way back after an awesome trip to the North Cape, we decided to make a stop into Nambung for a visit. This is our second time there and we enjoyed it as much as the first time. The landscape is totally unusual with these forest of standing pillars and contrasted colors. The hole family have great time, especially the geodaughter who was too little the first time to appreciate it. Definitely a must visit place to visit while touring around Perth.

Having spent the morning off the coast on Buller Island conducting Australian Sea Lion surveys and sampling, we decided to stop at the Pinnacles for a bit of sightseeing - it was also a good place to stop and get changed out our wet and stinky survey clothes and have lunch. We enjoyed the short walk in the heat, the coolness of the visitor centre and the natural history displays, and then took the drive through the stone formations, enjoying the comfort of air conditioning while admiring the vista. At the same time I introduced my fellow scientist to the joys of earth caches, having introduced them to geocaching only the day before! Thanks for the cache AusTrackers
