Logs
Well. Isn't this odd?
Five and a half years after it's supposed final find, here I am logging Bush block as actually having found it.
A year or so back, another user posted in their log on my cache in the reserve about having found a different cache in the Colley St Reserve a few years back.
I was curious and so searched for local archived caches through Project GC and, sure enough, it once existed.
Nothing really happened from then until a few days ago, having just come back from America, I had a look around the archived map and drew my attention back to this cache for no particular reason. Only then did I realise what had happened.
A DNF trend had set in, the CO had presumed the cache was missing and therefore archived the cache BUT a few days later it was found with the cache still at gz.
This posed a simple question to me:
Can an archived cache last five and a half years unfound and presumably lost?
I was out for a walk today, something nice that I hadn't done for quite some time given my absence from the country, doing some maintenance on the local caches and just enjoying Pearcedale as a whole.
Seeing as though I was planning on swinging by the Colley St cache to drop some trackables, I found no harm in testing the waters for Bush block to still exist.
I arrived at gz without any high hopes of finding anything, and only 20 seconds later did I spot the cache!
It was tucked away underneath the side of the boardwalk and just out of view. I can't believe I haven't stumbled across it given the number of times I've been through here!
How exactly it has survived this long is beyond me, but everything looks to be in good condition.
The container's all good, logbook isn't damaged and contents look ok.
Only three people are recorded to have found this cache since it's archival, those being a group of muggles in 2017 who thankfully put it back as they found it!
Signed my name and replaced as found.
I just find it insane how it's still here and I've found it, but the searing Aussie summer heat and the Triple J Hottest 100 Countdown blaring from the neighbouring house's speakers (currently at #72 with Nothing But Thieves's Like A Version cover of What Can I Do If The Fire Goes Out?) is a definite reminder that this is no dream!
For a great adventure, cache and, above all, story, this archived cache gets a fave point!
Thanks to cathylmorgan for initially placing this cache all the way back in 2010 in what truly is a beautiful hidden spot of Pearcedale and not clearing it out in 2013!

Leaving Phillip Island behind and accompanied by very wet and windy weather, we headed towards Frankston in preparation for a special family birthday celebration.
Our final cache for the trip. Despite the extent of water and mud nearby the cache was all fine and dry.
TNLN . . SL . . Thanks for the hunt cathylmorgan.

Had a good look around, couldn't find it. Another great location tho, thanks for bringing me here Cathy.
Took a friend for a first cache find! Not sure if he's a geocache yet! Good cache, TFTC took a couple of minutes to find!
Walked past it a few times, but eventually found it! TFTC! Very pretty area.
This one took a little longer than expected. Had a wander along the boardwalk, it's a very nice bush block out the back of a now very busy Pearcedale. I remember back when all of this was bush and paddock, so it's strange to see it developed!
Anyway, the cache was a few metres from where my GPS said GZ should be, but after a few minutes of searching, I spotted it out of the corner of my eye. Signed log, replaced carefully.
Thanks for the cache!

Thanks for the cache!
Was a bit concerned that we couldn't find this one, it being so big and using the hint... All well, better luck next time!
Another gem of a park. I didn't take long to find this cache because one of the clips on the container had come undone and its colour really stood out. Thanks for bringing me here. SL TNLN
I took the scenic root and parked in the other streets the other side of the block. Nice little area to live near. TFTC.
This was a rather nice area here and boardwalk. It was the last cache of the day, on the way home via the cattery. We dropped off a geocoin to continue it's travels. Thanks for the cache.
Quick find in a great little spot. Cache was visible, so more covering was added. Thanks for the cache.
The Bush Block is looking a little overgrown with blackberry bushes, making it more like a bushy block. Was a quick walk in, but the cache was well hidden considering the surroundings.
This was, cache # 22 of 33 finds for the day on another big night out with my good mates Trailrunning and Blacklegend, we picked Danozz up in the city later on our run. A nice walk to GZ where the cache was soon found by Blacklegend. My thanks to cathylmorgan for the cache.
Couldn't spot the entrance very well at night, so we got a park and walked along until we could spot it. We all looked back and forth for a while until Black made the find.
Tonight was another legendary night caching run with The Demolition Crew and The Rebel Alliance teaming up to grab some caches north, east and south of Melbourne. The run started in the early afternoon with the new northern and eastern caches being picked up before we headed towards the city in peak hour traffic to pick up Danozz in Richmond. He was keen to come and join in the fun.
At this point we moved through slow moving traffic to St Kilda and down to Found it 5 v2 (another hour wasted there!) before moving south through Cranbourne, Tyabb and on to Balnarring. The night was filled with a great many laughs as Blacklegend was in fine form.
The highlight of the night was the 5,000th find being racked up by Blacklegend on the Balnarring Headache Maker. Top effort Adam! As the witching hour approached we decided to forgo some of the planned caches and head straight back to Elwood to align the tides with our caching presence so that we could pick up a cache four hundred metres down a stormwater drain.
Many thanks to all the CO’s who have put the time into placing the caches we collected tonight, and a special mention to those CO’s who made the effort to replace some missing caches at my request a few weeks back.
We had a nice little bush walk to this one, where Adam made his second find of this one. thanks.

Took me a few minutes searching to find this one! Awesome park for a cache I never even knew about SL TNLN TFTC!!
Managed to find, sign and replace the cache just before a couple of walkers came strolling along. There looks like a bit of work has been happening in the park. TNLN. Thanks for the hide.

A lovely area to explore - this is great town planning at work as the bush land is readily accessible and there is even a boardwalk.
Thanks for bringing us here!
Thanks for bringing us here!
What a lovely peaceful place. Thanks for bringing this nature living cacher here
First find of a nice afternoon caching in the area. Found very quickly. Took spy watch, left tambourine. Nice to find a bit of bush in a town like this.

First of two caches found without the GPSr (Google Maps is your friend!!). Lovely little piece of nature. It didn't take too long to have the cache in hand. There were no muggles about at 4:50pm. TFTC
This was our very first find and so my gg hunter was over the moon to find it. We swapped pens much to gg hunters delight, favourite colour. Thanks Cathyl
It appears the locals are using the park entrance as their cuttings dump. Negotiated the obstacle and found the cache. Took Riko the Travel Bug.
The Hunters headed down to Western Port this afternoon. Stopped to nab this GC on the way. What an interesting reserve, aptly described by the title of the cache. Not too difficult to find, and a great spot for a picnic nearby. Left a key fob. TFTC cathylmorgan.
With a day to myself while the Geokid was at Grandma’s for the weekend, I decided to do a spot of Geocaching. This was my second find for the day, still fairly early in the morning, so there was little to no muggle activity. Took me a few minutes to find this one, I walked past it a couple of times before finally spotting it. SL, TNLN, TFTC!
what a delight. TFTC left elephant (not a real one) TN SL warning sign on gate initially freaked me out
What an awesome area for a walk - didn't know this was here. SL TNLN TFTC cathylmorgan
Lovely little spot - quick pick up on the way to work. Glad no-one was around as I probably looked pretty strange in my suit bending over and grabbing the cache. It's in good shape! TFTC
Wouldnt mind living in one of the houses nearby, would b like a hidden backyard! Dogs had fun, thanks for bringing me here =)
Found on the way home from a fishing trip.
Took some finding but found it we did.

My boy ( shredd108) and I were up early this morning for a spot of star gazing. A rare opportunity to catch a glimpse of a comet, visible to the naked eye - we set up shop at Koo-wee-rup Tower. On the way back home we decided to hit a few local caches.
Nice quick stroll thru the reserve..... mmm has potential for a NC. Nice hide, found after a brief search - slightly exposed thou due to the elements BUT soon fixed that.
Thx cathylmorgan

I got up today ready for a big day fo caching. I was picked up nice and early buy my caching mate sedgwickdave for a caching run down on the Mornington Peninsula with the main goal of attending the Mrs Walenators Birthday event at Crib Point.
I had previously visited this one but came up empty handed. This time with the help fo a second set of eyes, we made the find relatively easily.
Thanks to cathylmorgan for the hide. TNLN.

Team up with good mate ahomburg for a cache run down the Mornington Peninsula (Hastings area) to attend Mrs Walenators Birthday event at Crib Point.
This was find #1 of the 30 finds today, on a perfect day for caching.
A nice spot and as it was morning there was no one about so a quick find.

I set out on a bit of a mission today to gather a few travel bugs from caches I'd not yet visited. Well, this was cache number three and the third with no travel bug present. As it turned out, when I called at a cache not far from this one I found the TB that is logged as being in this cache.
As for the cache, a nice easy find in a very pleasant little reserve.

#780 6th of 12 in an arvos caching down south. We made hard work of finding the right spot to enter here (tried a couple of dead ends first!). Went for a pleasant stroll and found the cache ok. Don't recall seeing the TB in it but now knowing what it looks like it's possible we mistook it for a swap toy thingy. TNLN Thanks cathylmorgan.
What a cool park. Have lived in the general area for 20+ years and never knew this was here.

On a nice, quite and sunny weekday, I didn't anticipate any trouble from muggles in spots like this - and this proved to be the case with this one. It took me a minute or two to narrow down the search and spy the container but I soon had it in hand and was making my entry.

Thanks again cathylmorgan - Pearcedale seems like a lovely spot (I assume you live nearby).

Found while on a caching run with Jyetara. Parked in the side street and wandered towards GZ, the only other person around was a man with a dog, once he was out of sight it was a quick find.

There was massive muggle activity near the entrance today. I got to enjoy a nice walk through the reserve and came out another entrance and looped back around to the car to avoid it. Thanks for showing me this lovely little piece of bushland and for the cache.
We found this cache today at 10:35am as the 2nd of 29 on our Hastings and Area Caching Day. Two caches down and two pretty little parks. Thanks from D & H B-A.
Very wet here today, but the cache itself seems to be waterproof. Unlike my trousers...

An easy find with the aid of Firefly38's iphone torch. It was getting late and we had lost the sun. I wonder what the residents of he overlooking houses sometimes must think.
Not as easy a find as the other caters in the logs but we got there on the end. Good size cache in a nice piece of bush land. TFTC. KeMS
One of 20 on a night run to Hastings in Melbourne to drop off my oldest daughters boyfriend to pick up a new car. The things you do for your kids. He did pay the fuel money for the trip, so it was free caching.... Happy days.
Had to be quite with the parking at close to midnight in the quiet street, but once in the reserve, quickly made my way to GZ and made the find. TFTC.

I often find these types of caches difficult to find. The cache could be anywhere along a long line. But today, the GPS pointed me at one particular spot, and there was the cache. Thanks for showing me this new area, and for the cache.
TFTC; took out some newbies to show them what it was all about. Found with Sally, Lynne, and Khris; now they have the caching bug. Great little spot, took tbs.
