We decided on a spur of the moment getaway for the weekend to test out the new car, and get some caches. What better place to combine both activities than St Arnoud?
The family were tucked up in bed, watching "Groundhog Day". Although it is a great movie, and one that is worth watching over and over again, I needed some extra steps to get my daily goal, so went for a stroll to get them, and look for a cache or two.
While walking around the strange streets late at night, I ventured here to make a find, what I found was a fence enclosing the area making GZ unreachable. Oh well, I've got my steps, I'll head back now.
Thanks anyway tigersden

This one appeared to be in an area that is fenced off while repairs are in progress. Will try again next visit. Thanks tigersden
Found during an early morning solo ride around a few of the caches in town. Had to avoid the attention of a few workers over at the mill and nearly gave up rode away. But then I approached GZ from a different direction and spotted a possible hiding spot and something out of place. I didn't think the co-ords were that far out but the structure could have mucked up my old GPS. A favourite point for a well hidden cache and the history lesson Many thanks tigersden
We found this cache today at 4:15pm as number 6 of 7 on our Cut Short Caching Run Renmark to Melbourne. Despite the co-ords being well out as mentioned in many a log, the find did not take too long to make as we widened the circle. Thanks from D, H, HA and A B-A.
Found at 10:24 AM GAFF5 in the company of Rebel Acts - at a distance of 15 metres.
A nice hide, but spoiled a bit as we had to go searching all over for about 10 minutes with the smell of fertiliser wafting in the air.
Thanks tigersden.

Found with pprass, I had been hearing about the quality of caches in the St Arnaud area so I arranged to meet up with pprass for a couple of days caching, We were not disappointed with the caches we found in the area. Found this one some 15m from the listed coordinates after expanding our search. Loved the old station. Thanks tigersden for the cache.
A quick and easy find as we cache our way to St Arnaud for the weekend. Thanks for bringing us here and thanks for the cache.
After setting off early from Geelong we hit town mid morning , grabbing a few caches before teaming up with McLookers . Had a good search without any success , so later in the day we brought reinforcements to aid in the recovery of this cache. Well what do you know ? McLookers found it nearly straight up.
Thanks Tigersden for the cache , might need to update coords...out by at least 12 metres!

Following an earlier log and widening our search yielded the cache. The cache was open but we managed to reassemble it when Mr Tritonz put his hand where I was not game to retrieve the base and put it all back together. No TB though. Thanks tigersden.
As we pulled up we noticed the Two Tassies that I had met yesterday so we all joined Cybergran v and Muggle hubby and in know time at all Muggle hubby had it in his hand which was good after seeing so many did not finds All dry so we signed and left for another adventure.
This cache took quite some time to find. We searched for about 20 minutes without success. Then two other caching teams arrived, with one of the teams having found the cache the previous evening - they too had spent a lot of time. The cache was then quickly located although our GPS units indicated that GZ was over 12m away from where the cache was found. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks tigersden for the cache.
Found the perfect hiding spot behind the brick but no cache there onwards for lunch TFTH
This one took us a while to find. On our hands and knees we checked out spots and then after some time a previous finder used her torch and woo hoo a cache was in hand
Day 3 of 3 - Found whilst on a road trip with CPwanderer and Locus Cache from Adelaide to Wedderburn, Victoria. The aim of the trip was to attend "A Day Out in Wedderburn 2016" all day caching event (TICK [^] ) and then enjoy the Evening Meal event (TICK [^] ).
During this weekend we found some fun and creative caches and caught up with our Victorian geofriends once again.
The funny one-liner comments flowed all weekend and my belly hurt from all of the laughter!! [:o)] [^].
Unfortunately we had a minor car accident Friday night whilst traveling to Wedderburn [B)] - lost control of the vehicle (fortunately we were traveling very slowly) and we got bogged on a wet and slippery Victorian country dirt road [xx(] ...ummmm.....at the time we may have been heading toward a possible gold which we missed , however we did eventually get out of the mud after a long wait and exchanging a fair bit of cash [:(!].
I LOVE geocaching [:X], but I HATE mud [:(!]!! LOL
Thanks for the cache

Even with a previous finder this took us a while! Found with locuscache and Goodlook on a weekend in Victoria. The main aim of the trip was to attend the Old Blokes events in Wedderburn and to grab as many of the caches in the area. We also found quite a few on the way there and the way home and had some “interesting” experiences 4WD ing on some back tracks!
Our second visit and after a heads up we widened the search and made the find.
We believe co-ords are off by about 15 metres. We checked GZ as S 36° 37.290 E 143° 15.525 ( not 535 ). Verified via google earth.

A matter of third time lucky for these novices (I didn't bother logging our 2nd DNF). Geo dad, daughter and son went back again not to be beaten this time, and they weren't. Geo daughter found fairly quickly. TFTC.
I was in St Arnaud for the weekend visiting friends. I found this cache while looking around the town. Tftc
Very new to geo caching so still working it all out. Read the reviews which got us thinking, but to no avail. You will hear from us again, we will be back. Thanks.
Cleverly hidden cache and very fun to find. My GPS was a bit off but had no problem finding it with the help of my Geodog. I forgot my pen so I couldn't write in the log book.

Can owner check to see if it's still here?? Think we found the spot but no cache. Thanks for bringing us here anyway!!
DNF 3 of us searched for nearly half an hour. Cache was nowhere near where co-ords sent us, and we were using GPS and phone. Gave up.

Finally catching up on some logs... We had a massive and awesome weekend with great events. Thanks to all of the St Arnaud geocachers for the fantastic collection of caches here.
A great weekend was had finding caches with becca85, neisha07 & GemmaSistema. TFTC!
A great weekend was had finding caches with becca85, neisha07 & GemmaSistema. TFTC!
After the Dinner local event, I headed out with becca85, GemmaSistema & boo09 to rack up some more smilies in town - we were almost at 50 for the day. Lots of fun had with some fantastic caches around town. We will be back sometime to finish off some more. TFTC! (Apologies for generic logs)
We did read the previous logs before searching for this one and wondered if we would find it. We were here about 4.30pm and it had been a long day, so our eyes might have painted on by this stage. We see that Gemma found it in the dark after PAF and after we were there, so maybe we did not widen our search far enough! Another to look for on our next visit. Thanks for the look at the nice old railway station Tigersden.
GemmaSistema & I realised tonight that we were very close to 50 finds for the day (not bad with 4x crazy 4-7yr old kids!) so we mustered up the strength after the dinner event to grab a few more by torchlight.
We searched here for quite a while before resorting to PAF for a hint. As a result, we moved our search quite a few metres further than our previous search areas and then finally spotted something. I believe this was #49 of our huge day. TFTC tigersden

In St Arnaud with the two geokids (4 & 6) for a huge weekend of adventuring. After dinner we teamed up with becca85, boo09 and neisha07 to tackle some caches to get 50 in a day. It is hard caching in the dark but we managed it! Coords were a fair way off here so we ended up PAF to make the find. A car came past asking a question which I didn't hear (we were out with torches) but I just yelled that we are all good thanks and he drove on. Becca85 thinks it was a question as it if we lost our dog! Lol. So anyway cache was soon signed and we were off to find one more cache! Many thanks
Staying a few days in St Arnoud this morning we woke to 'sunshine' yay. Straight away we offloaded the bikes and headed out to visit the town caches.
So much history in this region, just lovely. Just love railway stations. Shame this one isn't as it was in it's heyday.
Thanks for your cache to feed our GeoAddiction.

Day seventy one of the WA road trip with BettyBoo3747.
We have the Original Road series that we had solved ages ago, but missed out on the event up here, so having a spare day we did a few around St Arnaud.
After lunch in town, we randomly selected caches to fill in what was left of the afternoon, at least we assumed it was afternoon - we hadn't seen the sun all day!
As others have said the cache was about 8 meters out, but really it could only be in one direction.
Nice hide, and an interesting station.
BTW, how long has that sign saying the state government will fix the station up been there - it is looking quite old!
Thanks, Robmc.

# 8445. Only one day to spare caching here in St Arnaud unfortunately. A grey but calm and dry day meant we had a great time touring the roads, tracks and by-ways. Had a very nice late lunch at the old Shire Offices and continued on for more caching until dark. Do hope to return as there is so much to see here.
After lunch we continue on, starting with some "When the Saints.....Series" and a few more. Thankfully we had read quite a few logs so knew not to start searching at the GZ coordinates. The hide still had us baffled but finally I spotted something slightly amiss. Ah yes, there it is. A sneaky hide. Possibly more so because the tell-tale signs are better hidden now.
Thanks tigersden

I agree with the previous cacher, the cache was some 8 meters from GZ . Glad I bought the other half along as she spotted the well hidden cache . Tfth

Sadly, it was time to say goodbye to Wedderburn and thanks for a fantastic weekend... It's was a great weekend of fun and fellowship!... Headed off en route to Warrnambool, had an enjoyable drive around many beautiful area's...
It was great to stop every now and then to stretch the ol' legs and grab a cache... A bit of a stroll, a bit of a search, made the find, stamped the log and returned...
My sincerest thanks to tigersden for the effort gone into this cache... I have seen many beautiful area's that I would not of seen or experience if not for your hide..

Looks like the refurbishment has stopped. Oh well, thanks for bringing us here anyway.
A nice quick find while in St Arnaud for the Event .Signed and replaced. TFTC.
We approached this cache under the cover of darkness, perhaps daytime may have been better. We searched here and there before spotting the clever hide. We found the cache approx. 8 meters from the listed co-ords. SL TFTC
Beautiful old station. Spent quite a while searching since gps not accurate here. Emthegem found the cool cache and find was in hand. Tftc.
Found with emthegem and TeamLauren. Spent a while searching here before extending our search area. Thanks for the cache.
Was out caching with a friend from St Arnaud, rusty0316. This was one of 9 that we found during a couple of hours this afternoon.
Found it ... eventually.

Been here on a previous occasion and had a DNF. Came back today and widened our search zone, located the hide and signed the log! TFTC
A nice hide thanks for the cache tigersden! Found in the company of Chook n Chunk and Kinkell1
I found this on my second attempt when I walked right up to it. It was good to find one of the older caches in the town dating back over 4 years now.
Thanks tigersden

At last found today, we have been here before, today we were determined to get this one crossed off and after an initial look we widened our search and yes there it was just patiently waiting for us to finally find it Thanks for the hide Tigersden
Found while in St. Arnaud for the event with The 2 Wanderers. I love old stations and this one is no exception. Briefly met some other cachers here, but we were all anxious to get on our way to find other caches! A favourite from me for a great hide. TFTC
Found today with Wozzle68 and Kinkell1. We had tried this one a few months ago but were way off. But today, with extra sets of eyes, we were finally able to turn this one into a smiley. Hope this lovely old station reopens one day. Thanks tigersden.
This one really had us going round in circles, from one side of the fence to the other and back again, I found the spot it was hidden but overlooked the obvious. Muggle Hubby is much more observant than I and eventually located it. Thanks for the treasure hunt
FINALLY!! I am absolutely amazed it has taken this many goes at finding. My partner and I have actually looked in that spot and didn't find it. Persistence pays. Left eternal calendar.TFTC Tigersden
3rd attempt, can't believe I missed this, easier than expected. Structures obscured GZ, used iPad and Garmin to confirm GZ, used other clues narrow the location, found clues which we hadn't noticed before.
Watch out for broken glass, spider webs and muggles (teen rebel hangout), strings attached.

Search for about 30mins, 2 people no find. Read other comments, and were disheartened. Found plenty of hiding spots, nothing to match either cache description.
