What a magical spot for a final rest. Nestled nicely on top of a hill with an amazing view, what more could you need. Cache signed and returned as found.
Quick find here today cache is all goodOn a week long trip to Melbourne for work and to watch the AFL prelim at the MCG, I decided to drive over and make a bit if a caching trip out of it as well. Stopping to find the odd cache here and there along the way. Thanks for the cache
The third of four days cachign with Robmc. We had our planned caches, but often changed plans at the drop of a hat if something looked cool. Started off in Horsham, travelled north towards Birchip then west towards Kerang and then south to stop off at Pyramid Hill.Where will we bury the dead?On the hill I reckon is a good idea given how easily everything else floods.
Day three with Day on our LGA collection trip around Western Victoria.Today we started at Horsham, and traveled northeast and finished in Pyramid Hill. The weather was drier but still overcast all day.So is it called SheepHills because the hills are about as tall as a sheep?A nice old cemetery in I suspect a flood prone area. Thanks, Robmc.
What an amazing and remote cemetery. Driving here l was wondering if anything was out here then perched on a little hill in the middle of nowhere is this quaint and peaceful place. Had a quiet tour amongst the graves and even though its fun to find the oldest grave it also saddens me to find the young ones that life had been cut way too short. Thanks for bringing us here.
Taking kids out for a history lesson around sheep hills. Lots of talking about life and being thankful. Thanks for the hide. Kids had fun finding it.
I lived in Beulah from 1972 through to the end of 1976. I attended the local primary school from Prep to the end of Grade 1, and my father was the Methodist minister there. I was in Beulah today for the funeral of a longtime family friend and one of my honorary aunts.
After the funeral, it was back into the car and the long trip home, with several geocaches to be found on that trip to break it up.
Seeing some of the places I remember from my early childhood was lovely.
Thank you, tigersden for this traditional cache. A favourite point from us for the location.

We did a wee bit of maintenance here today by replacing the clipless sistema with an identical new one and a plastic bag for the currently dry log.
All good to go again.
We had a good poke around here.
There were quite a few large German families buried here with a legacy of local roads names.
TFTC and bringing us here.

Love cemetery caches and small town cemeteries hold some interesting tragic tales. Loved looking at all the headstones…. The cache was wet as. Tftc
Good find wouldn't have come here otherwise very nice place to RIP- with riotgirlckb
YAY - found Sheep Hills Cemetery today. Love coming to these old cemeteries and looking around the history of their District. Glad I found the container today, the local ant population were beginning to move in. It had a quick tidy up and put back in its hidey hole. The lid is no longer holding tight and may need some extra attention. Thanks tigersden for setting up this cache.
PS: The Troll Dolls [TN6TR0] were with me on my great caching adventures today.

I was on a road trip with sushilord heading to Bendigo for a few days and finding caches far and wide. We weren't after numbers just out of the way places and caches with lots of favourite points. We had an enjoyable and fun time, but I was stuffed by the time we got home.
Love visiting old cemeteries out in the middle of nowhere, but we didn't stay too long here as we had other places to be.
Thanks for the cache tigersden.

JJ52 and myself had a fun and productive three days traveling to visit Bendigo and finding some caches along the way. Any excuse to stretch the car's legs.
Normally I take a few minutes to look around cemeteries but this was quick stop because we were miles from where we wanted to be.
Thanks for the cache tigersden.

Found this morning as I was taking a drive around the Donald, Minyip and Sheep Hill region finding a few geocaches. An easy find. Cache OK. TFTC.
Another cache from 2010 and this was a Tigersden awesome cache with a view and a history, thanks again Tigersden, a favourite for this one.

Find No. 3627. Found at 1.03pm
Today was Easter Sunday so we decided to spend it by going for a drive up to Sheep Hills via Minyip, grabbing the caches around the area that we haven't yet got. A total of seven we had to find plus one stage of an Adventure Lab at the Sheep Hills Silo Art. And of course Geodog Penny came with us the outing.
After visiting the Sheep Hills Silo Art and doing the caches there, we then headed for home along a back track to grab the final three caches in the area we had to get.
What an old Cemetery. Making our way to and from the cache we were reading most of the headstones, only to discover that the majority of people in this Cemetery were born and died in the 1800's - so long ago.
One of the headstones that caught our eye was one for Rees and Mary Jenkins whose beloved daughters Susan Catherine died 22nd July 1889 aged 27yrs and 10mths and also Margaret who died 6th December 1889 aged 38 years. The verse on the headstone read:- We saw them fading day by day
And gently pass away
We nursed them with the tenderest care
But could not make then stay.
Wouldn't it be great to know the history of these people and what they died from??
Time to leave and make our way to the next find.

Cemetery caches are always heart wrenching, telling of the hardships in these remote towns and so many little ones gone too soon

Found on the way home from our 5 day getaway to Wyperfeld NP - a wonderful break from work with spectacular locations, fun sand driving, good caches and great geo-friends.
We located the cemetery easily but probably didn't drive the easiest way in. Being dry weather today it was no problem. However, some of the roads around this area looked infrequently used and would account for some previous logs about slippery and boggy tracks in wet weather. There is one well maintained gravel road out here though so if its wet, its just a matter of avoiding the rough roads and finding the good one.
Once at the cemetery, it struck us fairly quickly just how many died quite young here. We know that most rural cemeteries tell stories of hardship and early deaths, as those pioneering families would really have done it tough. However this cemetery seemed to have a much higher percentage of children and young adults, particularly between 1890 and 1905. Walking around, we both swore we could hear children playing - eerie!
Cache was found with no dramas and in good condition. Thank you tigersden for the cache and for bringing us here to this very interesting place.

When we first visited here back in 2016, it was wet, the grass was long and it was windy. The road in was incredibly slippery and the other team with us was a little concerned about staying on the road. This visit wasn't wet, there was no grass although there was a howling gale. The road was great. No wonder we remembered where this cache was hidden. Maybe more surprisingly, it was basically in the same place. Thanks for the cache and bringing us to this lonely cemetery.
Found with my youngest (LukeSistema) as we meandered our way from home (Ballarat) to Lake Albacutya for a weekend of geocaching fun. I love the amazing history you find on the way. Great views up here! Thanks for the cache.
Day #5 of the Birthday Bush Bonanza! I packed up camp early so that I could go and play with satellites while the others took their time. I had a number of excellent St Arnaud cache trails still to finish off so I planned to do as many as I could until I got the call that we were moving on. Lucky I have some favourites up my sleeve as I suspect I will need them. There is also none of the forecast rain with blue skies as far as the eye can see!
Visiting Sheep Hills to see the next silo art, I stopped by the cemetery to grab this cache since I needed to fulfill and LGA challenge. Although the GPS was pointing elsewhere I trusted my geo instincts and had the cache in hand.
Thanks tigersden for the cache and for contributing to the game.

Out and about with Shumba7 on the Silo Art trail. The road from the school was a bit tacky today after recent storms. TFTC
TFTC. Found on a cool day with Algae heading up north. Weird that there is a graveyard in the middle of a farm.
Mr Morris has a few weeks off but with border restrictions we thought we'd do a slow lap of Victoria while we had some good weather. With the van in tow we didn't try and stop as we travelled.
We headed for Brim and spent 3 nights there at the lovely community camp and collected some caches in a couple of loops from there.
Another interesting location in the middle of nowhere although the nearby silo art certainly brings people to the area.

A beautiful and calm spot to wander. Reading the headstones tells the story of life in a different era. So many young children, lost so early.

Logging cache after doing a 3000km silo and water tower art trail lots of fun
*Traveling from Ararat to Mildura for a few days*
An early start today as my plan was to grab some adventure labs and a few scattered caches along the way to catch up with caching family and friends for a few nights away and to clean up the Paddle Steamer Geo Art Trail.
A short stroll, a short search, found the cache, stamped the log and returned... Another place I would never have visited if not for caching. A lovely old cemetery. Thanks for bringing me here.
Thanks for the cache and the series tigersden. Appreciate your efforts.

I had tried for this once before, however it was wet and the Triton started sinking and sliding. T5 road! Came back years later now and got to visit this peaceful spot on an easy 2wd road today. A FP from me.
Found with tassie expat while exploring this nice area. Very unusual place for a graveyard, so far away from anything. Lots of old graves though. Thanks for placing it.
frmen1 and I love an old cemetery. This one seems to be in the middle of nowhere, prompting me to consider that there may have been plans for a township somewhere nearby. TFTC
TFTC. We were camped at Rupanyup and decided that with the wind and showers it would be a god day to leave the Motorhome parked up and use the car to go and explore a bit further afield. We were doing the Silo Art Adventure Lab so we headed toward Sheep Hill and Brim. A great few hours 10 caches found and 1 DNF at Sheep Hill Silo. we love old cemeteries but with the showers today we could not leisurely wander around.
A very interesting cemetery to wander around sitting up here proudly on the slight hill.
The old toilet was worth a look at also.
Thanks tigersden for the placement.

Our first break for freedom since isolation began. Such a lovely day to be out driving around the district with the kiddos. Beautiful start to the long weekend and looks like many others had the same idea. Roads are packed today!! I wonder if there's an option to stick a couple of sheep in here to nibble down the clover!! Haha, was mid-way up my calf in some places!! TFTC
When I was last in this area, the decorating of huge silos had not become fashionable, so along with visiting these now famous of the beaten track painted silos, I was also hoping to find a respectable number of geocaches With that second activity I stopped here and soon made my mark in the log. Old cemeteries always hold some interest but this one could do with a little more mowing TFTC tigersden
First time to a country cemetery, very interesting!! TFTC needs a new container, doesn’t clip shut anymore. With TRESTONE01

When we travel, our route is planned largely by our passion for caching and the number of green/orange icons on the map which hopefully will become smiley tokens when we reach our destination. This neat little guy is one of the caches we found today as we travelled from The Bellarine to Ouyen.
No sign of Hooked on Fish (TB6QTTG)
Thanks 'tigersden' for adding this cache to the gameboard.

This was a lonely spot today. Found the cache and then spent some time wandering around the cemetery looking at the headstones, sad that so many children died so young back then. TFTC
Suscoe's second day of caching in Horsham and the countryside around this region.
Another brilliant Winter's day.
Sunshine all day with a breeze from the north. The car said 17 was the top temp but it felt warmer at times.
Quiet locations for the caches that we visited and lots of fun as we wandered the back roads of this region.
Thanks to tigersden for this hide, what a lovely cemetery way out here on a rise.
The oxalis was growing well.

So many died so young back in the 1800s. I love old cemeteries and the history in them. Thanks for bringing us here.
We love doing caches in old cemetery's. The road in was a bit sandy and soft dirt as the farmer had ploughed up the road and we nearly didn't come this far down the road. But glad we did as this place is very interesting. Nice quick easy find on the cache. TFTC. SL. Had a nice walk around looking at all the old graves. Some very interesting ones. Thanks for putting a cache out this way and making us come to find it. Cheers.
Found It.....Found this one while on our 20th wedding anniversary holiday to see the Painted Silos. After pulling up and a quiet stroll through the Cemetery looking at all of the headstones and wondering what it was like in the early years and how tough they were we arrived at GZ and a quick search soon uncovered the cache and with the log signed we continued our journey northward. Thanks tigersden for the cache
Grabbed this one as hevwalker, Bron and I were caching our way back to South Australia after spending the Australia Day long week-end at St. Arnaud
It was a different season we were approaching this cache no mud & slippery roads this time

clare007, Bron & I stopped at a few caches while heading home from St Arnaud to SA...
Hmmm! there were more than a few...we got home 1am...
Last time Clare & I tried to get anywhere near this cache, the road was so wet, muddy & slippery...
Today was a different story...dry & dusty...reached the cemetery without an issue...
Another old cemetery with many young people buried here...hard times in history...
The cache was found quickly...

I always love walking around cemeteries to find a cache, nice placement. Our group found this cache after we left my breakfast event in Donald.
Please note: generally we stamped the log as "Fabulous Randoms", however some logs we have written our caching names.
What a great 'long' weekend travelling to St Arnaud from Adelaide for the wonderful annual festivities. I cached with many awesome cachers including Feathertop, micaparamedic, Locus Cache, Muzza, Sharkie Fan, BushFire and of course TheDame. I also socialised with many others.....gosh I love Victoria!
Thanks so much for the cache tigersden! [^]

today i started in horsham to do the silo art trail and quite a few caches along the way. when i was in the area last time, turning silos into art pieces had just started. it was an amazing drive and i enjoyed every single stop along the way. it's always interesting to learn something about the early (second) settlers of an area. there must have been a lot of germans around back then, going by the headstones. TFTC!
Found while on the road during the Victorian Silo Art Trail. Thanks for the cache tigersden!
Found on a three day caching wander with AussieM&M!!!! We centred our searches in the Ararat area but ventured further afield when some of our planned caches were either disabled or on very slushy dirt roads. Very cold and plenty of rain ….. although we seemed to dodge the worse of it!!! Lovely old cemetery!!!!!! A favourite!!
While we almost got bogged trying to get to this cache, it was still worth it. CP found another likely road for me to drive down, and soon we were heading to the hill.
What a lovely cemetery and a simply stunning historic place to visit.
