Really disappointed to see this cache go.
It is a 2001 cache and from all indications, the hider is no longer active, but the geocaching community in SA had stepped in to replace the cache. The cache was a very good hide, and in the style of the original given the hint.
The location is brilliant.
I would have thought some leniency would have been given to such an old cache
Note, there is a comment about a throw down. This cache was not replaced by our group, but a local SA had gone out and hidden a cache in the style of the original with great camo a few weeks (i believe) before we came to South Australia
I think it is a very short sighted decision

Very disappointing after a local replaced this significant cache upon me questioning its existence.
Sad to see community caching is not appreciated in SA.

Hmmm, had this on my to do list while in the area, although it’s now been archived??

Hi.
Great cache container and great site to be brought to this site.
It was a bit of a drive but well worth the effort to get to this cache
Such an important site for australia and agree this is what geocaching was originally about.

Well this was a long way from anywhere but so worth the visit. What a wonderful location and clever cache hide too! Well done to Team Bluey for the original placement and for the fantastic community cachers that look after these precious ones. I'm so glad we made the detour!
Thanks everyone
Thanks everyone
It was great to drive all the way out here to this important cache, it's a great reminder of what caching used to about in the old day, bringing people to places you would never come to.
We all stood for a moment of reflection before we searched for the cache and wondered what stories lay before use.
Cache was soon found in an interesting hide thanks to all those maintaining this cache over the year's.
Thank you once again team bluey

I came out to do all my sad face ones but look another sad face. This one has me stumped and I really didn’t want to move to many of the branches. Look where I thought it was but nope. Oh well let’s hope I have better luck with the next one.
Today, with the Adelaide COVID-19 lockdown lifted, I decided to head north and target the *Australian Prime Ministers* (APM) Trail, and the *It's a Small World* 60 series. I swung by St Kilda initially, reminiscing about the playground and mangroves I once visited as a child, and then continued to snake my way north following the Prime Ministers, and visiting Mallala in doing so. It drizzled on/off for most of the day, and as the rain started to set in as the sun set, I decided to take that opportunity to head home.
This was a really cool location that I enjoyed visiting to read some of the history. However wow, I ended up spending 30 min here looking for this cache container, and it wasn't the nicest of searches. I found the object that matched the hint, and then looked in all sorts of directions, different elevations and spots, but still for a long time, nothing. I had a PAF to a previous finder who gave me a nudge, and still after more time, I eventually spotted the container, and the cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks Team Bluey for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

Headed North with LiB on this perfect caching day...Port Parham, Dublin, Mallala, Balaklava, Port Wakefield and many off the beaten track spots in between...we stayed out well into the early hours of the morning as the night was warm and well lit...

TFTC. SL. Very tricky find. The use of a guiding light allowed us to finally claim a find. To the families of these young Australians this will always be a special place. Very well kept area.
This arvo I headed out after work to try and find enough caches to get to 8000.
Mission accomplished.
What a fab afternoon it was, love country caching and today was perfect for it. Not too hot. Enjoyed the scenery and finding lots of regular sized caches. Even better didn’t encounter any snakes or other scary wildlife.
Unfortunately had to stay back at work for an hour so didn’t manage to get to all the caches on my list but that didn’t spoil the afternoon.
Now hoping my Pies can win this last quarter then this will have been a real good day.
This one took quite some time to locate, but got there in the end. Nice military cemetery. TFTC

I came here about a year ago but came away with nothing but a blue frowny. Back today with a few helpers but even they were no help, a PAF was used and they were able to help locate this one, tricky hide but not that tricky if you look at it from the right angle.
Out for a morning caching trip with some fellow Tasmanian cachers: SScahrlie, was great to catch up on there travels across the country so far and talk about what is yet to come. The agenda was to collect my multi and also take them to some of Adelaide best including Gawler fort knox. Too hot for us fellow Tasmanians as it kicked over to 34 max in temp, so the car was the place to be.
Only 5 finds for me today.
Thanks for the cache.

Well, what a weekend! The FFLL ladies and myself decided to head over to SA to tackle the newest installment of the Fishy Tales caches, the Gone Fishin' series. Having a long weekend presented to us, and a day extra, we had a big task at hand to get them all done, but we did! There were many tears of laughter, exhausted bodies each night, and plenty of caches found. We even managed to score ourselves a few Earthcaches, Virtuals and even Webcams along the way as well as me passing my 10,000 find
En route to the Magical Unicorn Series and picked up a couple in Mallala. This one took us quite a while to find, we were actually going to DNF, until we seen it was an oldie (2001) cache. Eventually FFLL#2 found the cache, it sure is hidden well!
Thanks for the cache hide Team Bluey and a very special thanks to the FFLL ladies for an awesome fun filled adventure away Looking forward to the next adventure.

With a long weekend coming up we decided to make it an extra-long weekend and hatched a plan with Rapidlywild to attack YP in SA again. It has been 4 years since we were last here so a few new caches/trails have come out since then. On our list was the Gone Fishn' trail as well as the 60 trail, Magical Unicorn and PSA as well as collecting random ones as well along the way.
Getting the "blurry eye" out of Canberra Friday morning we arrived in SA around 7.30am and the geo-mission began.
We found this special one on our way to the trails...TFTC Team Bluey

Getting towards the end of the day and this one was next on the list. Aussie M&M, Eskies5 and I searched and searched. With each of us stopping and taking in what was around us. Eventually Aussie Mark looked rather chuffed with himself as he came up with the hide. A perfect place for me to end my day, knowing many of my extended family were at the Australian War Memorial in Canberra commerating Great Uncle Joe who was an airserviceman pre WWII. TFTC and bringing us here Team Bluey
Day 4 of a dedicated geotrip from QLD to SA to tick off lots of boxes for Kestal and Mrs Esky...today we are slowly caching our way north to Moonta and back travelling in the company of Aussie M & M who are driving/navigating...Hidden dates are top priority and this one filled a spot for the Eskies. After our biggest day so far Aussie Mary pointed out that we were visiting "At the going down of the sun...." literally at the going down of the sun. This, in addition to a family event that occurred this weekend for one of our party, made for a very poignant visit. Had a little moment when we thought this would be a DNF but Aussie Mark came to the rescue and made the find. A fave point for the experience. Thanks for bringing us here, Team Bluey.
Such a peaceful resting place. Even training was so dangerous to our servicemen and women. TFTC
found with allister w on route to the unicorn series. All logs stamped mystery randoms for today. Always good to get a old cache and we detoured so this could happen.
Day three away with tmann421 on our geocaching trip
Enjoying these finds in an environment far different to what we are used to at home.
Thanks to the CO's for the effort put into these hides.

WOO HOO, gotta love finding REALLY old caches. This year I worked hard to filled my jasmer grid (thanks to travel overseas) so I really appreciate oldies. Certainly an interesting spot to visit, I had no idea it was here.
The tree has recently been trimmed to expose the post more....for a moment there I thought the cache may have gone, but nope, it is there and was fairly quick to find. I would say it was more the size of a small cache.
Stamped log as "Fabulous Randoms"
The weather was average but the day was enjoyable as there were caches to find
Thanks so much for the cache Team Bluey! [^]

Day 5 of our trip - travelling back from the Yorke Peninsula through to Adelaide. Our targets for the day included more T.O.Y. caches, a virtual, a letterbox trail, and a bit more geoart. Also a few caches with some interesting D/Ts for their type. Finished the night with some wherigos... A great day was had by all. Caches logged under the "SWAG-JJ" group monkier. TFTC!
Day 5 visiting Adelaide and surrounding suburbs with geo friends Waz and Vic, Ardom, Gcoven, JACS Team and joojoo57 from Queensland.
Enjoying venturing around the beautiful city and countryside finding as many caches as we can before heading back home.

Yet another puzzled puzzler's Tuesday caching expedition. Today's crew of brisal5, Mrs. SA Sewer Rats and Doctor Owl set sail north again to where we were caching DNF's recently. Whilst doing that two weeks ago we rectified three DNF'S but added another three to the list. Although we made a lot of finds I managed to add another four to my DNF list! No matter we had a lot of laughs and I added a few unloved caches to my list along the way. [:o)]
This took a little while to find due to Owl have her hand leaning on the hide! When she moved her hand she found it.
**Thanks Team Bluey for this cache. **

Owl was out on her usual Tuesday geocaching frolic with SA Sewer rats and Brisal5, this time with some northern exposure in mind. lots of dry weather roads were traversed, mainly because it was still dry, even though it was winter! This also meant some caches that normally get bypassed, like this one. Thoughtful place, though the cache was proving elusive until Owl realised she was actually leaning on it!
This one proved tricky but eventually I saw something unusual and it was the cache.
Oh so very young - 5 x 19 years, 2 x 21 years, 1 x 22 years, 1 x 23 years, 1 x 24 years, 1 x 27 years and 1 x 28 years. Lest We Forget!

Making my way out to the stretch of dirt road north of Port Wakefield, to collect a heap of Letterboxes, and on my way I opted to pick up a few older caches that I have been wanting to clean off the map.
This was my first stop for the day, and one that was a pleasant surprise. You can really tell which part of this cemetery is managed by the Federal Govt, versus the local authorities. A lovely memorial to those locals who made the ultimate sacrifice.
This is my 1st of 31 finds for the day, TFTC Team Bluey!

Pprime, Crew 153, and I were visiting South Australia with a primary target of getting some old-timey caches.
It's all props to Pprime for this one. We pulled up and headed straight to a likely area. I looked. Nothing. Crew had a go - still Nada. It took Prime a couple of looks before he brought it to light. Goodness. Where did that come from? Very glad the eagle-eyed Prime came up with the goods.
We signed the log and re-hid the cache as found. I noted when we got back in the car - if we had found in 8 minutes earlier, we would have had to have put a different date
A fantastic little place for a cache. Thanks for keeping it going so long, and TFTC Team Bluey

Pprime (P'), Fangsoki and I had planned a long weekend assault on South Australia caches. We were targeting old, rare, unique and interesting caches.
We were on day 3 which would take us from Adelaide to Whyalla and back in 18 hours for 17 finds
This cache was on our hit list because of its age.
Well the sun had certainly gone down for us. It was now 11:45 and this was the last one to find before hitting the sack for a couple of hours before we hit the road again.
There was only one likely spot to search and we all turns to shine light on it and peer and poke until Pprime managed to locate the cache.
TFTC Team Bluey
This was find 43 of 54 finds for the weekend.

Three Mad Queenslanders (Fangsoki, Crew153 and I) have arrived in Adelaide for a long weekend chasing old caches. This is day three and we have been North, now driving back this evening towards Adelaide. It's late - we ended up doing an 18 hour day today and by this point were well over the driving aspect, but after braving YADR (yet another dirt road) in the hire ASX we puleld up here and started the hunt. No real issues (after a short heart stopping moment) making the find - it's bigger than you think, and nicely hidden in the spot. It is there!
And right on the tick of midnight.
Thanks for placing this cache, Team Bluey. Found in good condition.

This cache was targeted on our trip because it is an older cache that was placed in a month needed for our Jasmer Challenge. I love finding older caches and this one was no exception .
I had been eyeing off an interstate trip for some time now and made plans to head to SA to power through the geoart trails over here . I roped in my geo buddy Krabiboy to join me and we set about solving [?] caches and highlighting Jasmer caches that aren't available over in WA. Our adventure took us from the CBD over to the Yorke Peninsula and then back across to the Murray Bridge area . We were relentless in chasing down the finds and picked up as many as we could in the week that we had available. Due to the park and grab nature of our visit, the log books which weren't able to accommodate the ink stamp we had made were signed with the initials 'jk'! Fave points will be awarded for those caches which are considered awesome
A massive thanks here to Team Bluey for placing this cache here and for tempting us to venture over to this area. Cheers!
jinta29 found your cache At the going down of the sun....... today. This is my find #6533 and find #11 today. I was able to get my name in the log book here and we replaced the cache as we found it. Thanks once again Team Bluey for placing this and bringing us to this part of the world!

Day Twenty nine of our holiday, BettyBoo3747 and I are still at Semaphore in Adelaide.
Today was filled with a trip to Mallala and Angaston for some family stuff for BB.
Just squeezed in a few on the way home.
We had visited the cemetery and checked out several related graves, but didn't grab the cache.
We returned later in the day and had a look at this section. Small towns always seemed to have lost so many men, it must have been devastating to a farming population.
Thanks, Robmc.

#12126. Day 29 of our SA holiday. Time for family stuff today. This entailed a trip to Mallala and Angaston and then back to Mallala to look at old family properties and the cemetery.
We had already been in the other section checking our relatives' headstones and now we are back again to find this cache. What a very neat section for fallen military personnel. A very old cache indeed. Good to see it is still in play.
Thanks Team Bluey

Mallala. We have set up camp at the recreation grounds.
Today we headed out to find the caches that were close to town.
A very old cache, good to see it still here.
The airman I chose was Seargant Rice lying either side of him are 2 of his mates, all who died on the same day.

A very old cache, good to see it still here.
The airman I chose was Seargant Rice lying either side of him are 2 of his mates, all who died on the same day.
Favourite point given

I was over in Adelaide for a couple of days work in the Elizabeth area...and after I had finished for the day, I went off in search of a cache or two...or six actually. Although Mallala was a bit a bit of a drive, I came out specifically to look for this cache...for two reasons:
1. It is a really old cache...placed in December 2001 and the nearest one to home from that month is about 370 kilometres away as the crow flies; and
2. This cache is just over 700 kilometres from home and that crosses off another "10 kilometre slice" for "The Well Travelled Cacher Challenge: Vic" cache.
So after a bit of a drive I arrived at the cemetery and set about looking for the cache. Once found I visited the graves to pay my respects. In many ways, the saddest was Sergeant Clough who died 6 months after the hostilities had ended.
Thanks Team Bluey for the cache...

Proved to be a bit of a 'Tuffy' for "Strange Man" and myself but it was eventually found after paying our respects (Lest We Forget). 15:12 on Feb. 27 2016. Tftc

A day solo cruising around the area, finding a few challenge caches and earthcaches, seeing a bit more of this lovely state. I needed this find as it's got an obscure 'hidden month', to my knowledge, currently unavailable in my native state Victoria. Thanks for the cache Team Bluey.

As we arrived at GZ we were greated by a freakish cloud formation. Meggs commented that it reminded her of the Rising Sun. (Pic attached) I then told her the name of the cache and we both felt the hair stand up on our necks.....After an easy find, we went in and paid our respects to the young men who gave the ultimate sacrifice so that we may live the lives that we do. Our son has just been accepted into the Navy, so it made this visit all the more poignant. TFTC
Thankyou for bringing us to this place. A place we never knew was here.. may the souls rest in peace. Found with Ados31. Needs some attention. New log book maybe.
[:) A quck find, such a loss at a young age, will we ever learn from history's pages.
Lest We Forget
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them

A very solemn place. I hope we never have to bury any more of our young people here.
A great spring day so we were decided to head out with hylys to make an assault on the Premiers of South Australia series. Finished a little earlier than we had anticipated so we stayed in the area and picked up a few more caches.
A great place. Spent some time here reading the tombstones - very touching.

Such a lovely day, we headed out with hylys and silverfoxed to find the series on S.A Premiers. We had some more time so decided to try a few more in the area. Thanks for bringing us here, a great place! TFTC
Muggle partner and I headed out for a day caching and it was his idea
Brodie came with us and by day's end, he was exhausted [|)]
We went as far north as Port Wakefield and then returned via dirt road after dirt road so that I could get some of those caches that no one else ever wants to stop for
By day's end, I had found 18 and had 2 DNFs
My last Mallalla cache was found very quickly! Oh how I love a large micro
Far too many of Australia's, and other countries', men and women have been lost due to human beings inability to live in harmony.
Thankfully, here, some have harmony to surround them as they, hopefully, rest in peace.

Relogging this under individual account, previously a member of Gaz'n'Kab account.
After a big day on the trails today, this one was next up on our list for today while on the way home back to the city. We spotted the cache quickly, and added our names to the logbook, rehid the cache, and headed back on the road back towards town [:)[ An obvious GZ, and a beautiful memorial to those who gave the ultimate sacrifice.
