Looked around at GL but all we could find was something a dog had left behind.
Be aware...the house in description has now been demolished to make room for apartments.
Went to GZ and may have found cache on ground so I put near post. May need maintenance
Heading back off the motorway trail and called in for this one whilst passing. Cache has been compromised so added a slip of paper and left better than found. Have messaged the CO.
Although I try not to enslave myself to calendar projects and stats I do like a tidy piece of stat-art and so have decided that, when I can, I will get my single digit days up to ten or more. Today is my last of those until Christmas Day so decided to head out after dinner for a few tasters, including finishing fmz's Adventure lab series. A good calm evening to be out before suspected rain tomorrow.

A must visit when in the area, convenient a cache is placed right here. Thanks for the excuse to visit
As I approached I was reading the cache description and looked up to see two people taking photos of the house!!
I found the cache and signed it quickly.
All good here!

Easy dubs for the boys thought this was fake now my sore legs are finally worth it
Was walking along the motorway path and thought this is a quick detour to get another cache. When I read the description, I HAD to get this one, if only to take a photo of the house.

This one was really cool, I was Initially worried that I might have to go onto someone's property but I was relieved when I eventually found it, I thought the hiding spot was really cool, Thanks.
With part of Team BOP - (Mr) Davidson clan, McJandals, and NZFlossy... All logs were signed RoT - Rotorua or Tauranga. We have been planning this mini raid of Auckland for a short time. We have discovered that we need a small push to kick onto our next milestone. Hopefully, this weekend's haul of caches will bring us a little closer...
We decided to focus much of our attention on Te Atatu this weekend. The sheer number of caches, the walkability factor, and the rumor of some high quality caches sounded appealing... We also agreed to stay together on the trail rather than split up - This proved to be a good idea considering the reputation and hiding prowess of the COs in this area. Four pairs of eyes didn't miss much...
Once dinner was out of the way, our night caching plans kicked in. We wanted to make a dent in the North Western Cycleway caches, and the best way to approach it was to park and walk. We also had a few hides to conquer along the way... The favourite points on this one would indicate a good hide, and we could see the possible intent here. However, this one wasn't sitting right, and has probably lost its effectiveness over time. It may need refreshing... Thanks ishoot and TFTC.

In Auckland for a weekend of caching with Squirrel nutcase McJandals and Nzflossy. Signed Team RoT.

On a road trip with part of Team BOP which includes myself, NZ Flossy, Squirrel Nutcase and Davidson Clan. To save room we have signed ROT and I am logging using the Cachly app template so please excuse generic logging along the way. It’s just my way of keeping track, but I do genuinely thank each and every one of you cache owners for taking the time and energy to place these caches. Many Thanks for bringing us here. Cheers
On an Auckland adventure with three other BOP cachers. An early start with lots of fun and a night in the big smoke. I don’t venture up here very often but we were on a mission. Thanks to the COs for some great caches Signed as Team ROTTFTC
As a Westie and previous finder I have added a tube with log paper in the thing on the pole...as a temporary measure.
Will be good to keep it going!
Walked past here with nette 1234 recently; but she couldn't sign as they were filming and wouldn't let us cross the road!

Found the cache lying on the ground (it was labelled, so we knew it was the cache. Have taken a picture and tried to put it back in a sensible place, but had no log to leave. Will give an FP for construction and ideas, but this cache might need some attention.
Found on the ground with no log. Have messaged CO with photo! Shame that it needs repair, would've been a clever hide. Tftc
Being a Bogan myself this was a highlight of my day to see Bogan Villa. Awesome location. Unfortunately the cache is in need of repairs. Just lying out on ground. Sent you a pic of our find. Still give you a fav as you made this Bogans day to find this place. Tftc
Out collecting some more of the caches along the cycleway this afternoon and headed back this way to pick up some of the other caches too.As we arrived at gz a car pulled up and decided to just sit there so we pretended to wait for the bus.She drove off and the cache was soon found and signed.
My first geocache was really exciting to find. I thought it was really clever and creative how the cache was hidden. I will definitely keep finding geocaches when I'm out and about. Some advice would to look by the power pole and don't be afraid to look.
Happy eve of the New Year! Today I thought I would take the opportunity to fill in a couple of day dots in my ‘finds by hidden date’ grid. That is how I came to specifically target this cache. I am also currently trying to maintain a current geo-streak which is turning out to be quite the challenge! So after parking as close as I could I made my way to GZ on foot. Once at GZ I took a moment to admire the house before quickly finding the cache. The log book has been signed and the cache is nicely back in its spot all ready for the next hunter. So thank you ishoot for taking the time to set up this cache. I really appreciate your efforts in doing so. A favourite point from me!
We found the container completely dislodged and lying on the ground so have replaced it as best we can but it will need some work to properly reattach it to the pole.
Nice to see a kiwi icon up close. TFTC.

We found an item that looked like it may have been the cache container, without a lid and with no log in sight. We made an assumption that this was the correct container, have added a log and plastic bag and balanced it in one of the clips on the pole. The cache will need checking by the CO. If the CO is not happy with what we have done, please contact us and we will remove the log.
Been meaning to do this for a while now and just never got to it. Even during the height of the war just around the corner just never made it here. Out West for a surprise weeding anniversary so went for it. The replacement log is nice and dry.

CO needs to do a check as it seems likely that it is out of position. Fun hide even if I've never seen the show.
With the Hidden Creatures Souvenirs ending soon, and not much of a tally to my name so far one big push was going to be needed to get over the line. Cats&Dragons was is a similar boat, so after a quick scout of the maps Te Atutu, and the nearby motorway cycleway looked like just the ticket to get us both the numbers we needed.
A early start of 3am (this is getting more and more regular) from hamilton saw us starting the hunt just before 5am. The weather wasn't playing along at first as we had drizzle for the first hour or so, but it cleared up once the sun came up and stayed away right up to the point we headed for home. It turned out to be a very successful day with more than enough found to uncover all the Hidden Creatures.
We found a great varity of caches over the day, with some really great hides as well as one or two that were too good for us, or muggles had got them. I'll mention a few here and there that were extra memorable as I get to them, but unfortunetly I only have time for a cut and paste log for most. However a huge thanks to the CO's as the quality of caches were very high.

Off on a caching mission today with DaffyNZ to collect enough numbers to complete the Hidden Creatures souvenir challenge. Left Whangarei just after 7:30 am with the bikes strapped on the back and made good time, so were unloading at Pt Chev well before 10. The weather was looking great, so we loaded up and headed off along the cycling paths, which were actually a lot busier than anticipated. But I can really see why - they are fantastic and a great asset to the city. By the end of the day we had 56 finds under the belt, the souvenir challenge completed and only half a dozen DNFs along the way.
A bit of a detour off the cycle track now, just as a bit of a shower came blowing across. The remains of the cache were soon found by DNZ, but the log was missing, so I added a new one from my supplies. Another bad case here of being in a hurry and only reading the hint and not the whole description and of course I missed out noticing the importance of the house at GZ...!! TFTC

Out on a Saturday morning for the Auckland Geocaching Meetup bike trip. No sign of this one, though there was evidence of Chorus having recently added fibre here, so it is possible that they have tidied this one up.
Dear Cache Owners,
I am a German guy who stays in New Zealand for eight months.
My English is not perfect, so please don't wonder if my log entries sound a bit strange. Thanks!

After Surfing on Muriwai Beach I made a Little walk in this area to find some traditionals.
This one was easy!
Thanks for hiding!

Found it during bike journey in the area of Northwestern Cycleway. Lovely Sunday trip. Managed 28.6km on my bicycle. Found several caches along the way and nearby. This one here was one of them ...TFTC
Not that easy today with all cned off, workers up ladderes so I went down the road to pick some others up and when I came back I saw a gap, donned Hiviz and hardhat and joined the workers packing up, made the grab , signed the log and then tookl off down the tproad after a truck tah was backing down the road away from me with a rope trailing from the cab, I pulled the trucvk over and opened the drivers door to show him the rope that was connected to him was in danger of being dragged around the whell, could have been real nasty! Phew.
cache all ok, thanks.
cache all ok, thanks.
Had to come back to this one due to muggles. Quick find, managed to get top off. TFTC.
I have been out west for two weeks on a work trip. Stopped here in the evening on the way to airport and saw what appeared to be the cache. Ones like this elsewhere normally come off with a bit of wriggling but I think this one needs a TOOT to extract the log. Unfortunately no such tool was in my kit today so will have to wait for another visit. Interesting story. Certainly looked like westies in residence next door. Surprised no one has been here since January.
What an OUTRAGEOUS find!!!
Absolutely loved the show and got super excited when it binged on the app
After a lengthy day at my sons touch tournament at Moire park and a dip in the pool in Henderson, I thought we could check this cache off our list.
I was a little uneasy with this sneaky cache because of where its placed but a bit of outrageous engenuity with a craft knife case as my tool of choice we were able to get in sign the log and take a few cheecky photos before heading home.
The cache is in great condition and my boys loved it as well.
Thanks for the hunt and the cache

Mum use to watch outrageous fortune when I was young, only started getting into it as a teen and now with Westside out, I love the shows, always wanted to visit the house knowing it was somewhere west and today, thanks to you, I now have photos at it! What a tricky cache too! Had to use a washer to unscrew as I didn't have a proper TOTT, thank you (:
In the hood up to no good so popped in here to see the West house and grab one more cache before heading home. A woman stopped at the bus stop just as I got to work on the extraction so rather than look very dodgy I introduced her to geocaching. She seemed mildly interested but I don't think we've got a new recruit. All in good condition. Thanks for the Westy cache!
The rain was now coming down quite hard which meant that this was going to be the last one for the day. Have never watched the programme but had heard about it. Soon had the cache in hand, log signed and we were off.
Thanks for the cache.
Thanks for the cache.
Was out with Keylev & NZTravellers for a day of caching, so out West we headed.
I had tried to do this one last year, but felt uneasy doing it by myself. But today with horrible weather and a few others I felt a lot easier doing it.
Arrived at GZ to find the cache container open with no log sheet....so back to the car I go and got a replacement log sheet and plastic bag and Mr NZT put the cache container back together.
Glad to have this one off my list.
Thanks for placing the cache here and for bringing me out this way.

Cool to stumble across this house! Took us a while on this very busy road but eventually got there with fingernails. Log is soaked and full so unfortunately couldn't sign.
We (well the adults of the household) LOVE Outrageous Fortune and now Westside which is screening now. I thought I would surprise MrM by not telling him we were coming here. As we entered area to look for other caches first he said "I think the Outrageous Fortune house is around here somewhere." He was very excited to see the West house was the location of a cache. A surprisingly busy road here, the adults pretended to be waiting for the bus while the kids did the exploring and gave us the log to sign. Of course this needs a fav point! TFTC
Lis is going west: a clever hide. I saw the program on TV years ago but I must say I didn't watch it. Nice to have something that won a few awards here. I'll add this to my 36* challenge finds. This was the last of your caches for us today. Thanks for the effort you've put into the caches making and maintaining them
Initiated a friend. ..great sneak spot. you need a screwdriver or coin to access!
I never really watched the show so couldn't pick it out of a line-up but still nice to come and see a piece of New Zealand television history. Soon worked out GZ hide, but took a bit longer and a tool to get into it. Fave point for me, TFTC.
Working in the local area and heading home.
As it was such a loverly night decided to do a few caches around here.
Lucky I had ally tools in the car and was therefore able to make a quick and easy retrevial of the log book.
Signed and returned.

I was joining up with a team to go on a hike in the Pararaha Valley. But that was on Saturday, and this was my travel day to get to Piha for the night. That means only one thing: Find as many caches on the way.
I have never seen the TV show, but I have seen this type of hide, so one out of two is not bad. TFTC.

4.05pm - 2nd cache for Mr Gap today, found with my grand daughter. Took a few minutes to locate this well camoed cache. SLTFTC
Quick find today. I know this location very well, thanks for bringing me back here. TFTC
We had the outrageous fortune of being in the area for a very special milestone cache and needed to pick up a couple more first. Little did we know that the nearby caches were also very cool. Loved this one, well done. Gets a FP from us
Yup noticed the cover and popped it off. Sorry hope that's not giving too much away. Cool find.

I really liked this paragraph form the description
Mrs Muggle said she remembered the first day the cache went live. "It sort of reminded me of E.T. when all the space people arrived at the house. I opened up my blinds in the morning and there were cachers everywhere. You're in a bit of a goldfish bowl."
Other than that, I guess the story is even more funny if you are a local and really know "Go West"
Thanks for the cache!
