The cache appears to be in need of owner intervention. I'm temporarily disabling it, to give the owner an opportunity to check on the cache, and take whatever action is necessary. Cache not found in a rocky gully which has obviously seen flooding during heavy rains in 2012, and an owner who hasn't logged into this site for 12 months. I don't hold much hope for maintenance for this one.

23-Jun-12
As a previous finder I was certain I was standing exactly where I was when I logged it. Nothing anywhere to suggest that the cache is still there.

I wonder about the psychology....

We were out this way today for a bit of a 'clean up' of this corner, but didn't hold much hope for this one given the recent DNFs. Even with two previous finders searching with us, we had no success. A poor location for a cache, considering how this rocky gully would regularly run in heavy rain. I agree with Binliner that the cache is probably down the hill somewhere.

10-Jun-12
Not sure if it's still there. Had a fairly extensive search up, down and all around to no avail. Perhaps the recent rains have relocated it downstream? Still the exercise was good for me I suppose.

on our way while doing the All the River Runs series. This one was no where obvious to be seen. Triangulated cache location and searched a good 15 minutes. Then I gave up out of time. Not sure if it is gone or just hard to find. Certainly the hint was no use with lots of stones on a hillside. The purpose here should be to hike there but once there a quicker find would be nice. Hope it is still there though.

I walked up to this one from the BB below. I like the track round the back of the poo works. No smell today. The old phone in the creek was interesting. The cache itself was not too hard to find, but there is an old wet log and a newish damp one. Thanks.

log book wet and probably might get wet again. needs to be made waterproof or moved slightly to keep dry

Found after the two TE caches nearby and was good to catch a closer look at the treatment works, a great location but unfortunately container not water proof, found some spare bags left from a previous finder which we put IN the container, but really container needs to be put in a better location to avoid the water course its on.

Only one word to describe it - WET.
The log is so wet that unrolling it would destroy it.

Luckily there is an alternative dry log left by Mr_Roo so I signed that.

Nice spot though.

4633. (+366 +1) So after a bit of maths that appears to be my 5000th find. Not the cache I was aiming at, but as usual my Closeau tendencies came to the fore and I missed the cache I really wanted to mark this milestone with.

Not to take anything away from this cache but the other one is my oldest unfound cache in the ACT.

A quick find but eventually had to write on the log bag as the log itself resembles papier mache before you start to making something with it - wet as bro.

TFTC and the humbug.

Great day to go find some caches - so I did. But the log book was out and wet! Impossible to sign as it is sogged right through. TFTC

VERY wet log book. You can't write in it at all.

Day off today so thought lets go out get a few near home today. This was my first and rode the bike from home down the road to the track. Chained up the bike and walked to the cache right along the track. Couldnt get much better. Found quickly, took the top off and oh no water inside. Drained the water put in a double bagged couple pieces of paper and left the old log which couldnt be used right next to the cache. TFTC

Found it a few weeks ago, can't remember the exact date.

Couldn't sign the log either, the recent rains drenched it quite thoroughly. Nice walk though, even though it almost killed me getting back to the car. TFTC

A great morning walk with Rbirtles along the Molongalo River, and this was our first stop. Glad I let Rbirtles do the find on this one because he really struggled to get the lid off Smile. Nice area, TNLN, TFTC.

A nice long morning walk along the Rivers today with Nweberys. This was our stomping ground a few years ago so it is always nice to come back for a walk. Lid was extremely hard to get off so I felt like a bit of a neanderthal in my attempts but eventually we were able to get the cache openeded. Cache quite wet but we dried it out as best we could. TNLN and TFTC!

Our third cache for the day. Not where we expected it, but it was fun to get to. The perfect opportunity to stop for a snack too.

The lid was a touch hard to remove and the cache was quite wet inside. We tried to get as much water out as possible. Log only slightly damp.

Bashed our way across to this one from A Fore!mentioned Cache, ignoring all the paths and enjoying the sound of the wind whipping through the trees, fortunately blowing in the right direction!! A great place for a cache. Dropped in and took out Fore's Mathematical Approach. TFTC

Did this cache on my way to check on an area lower down at the junction of the rivers for a suitable spot for brining 76 of my Biology kids.

Was fun!

FOund this cache as a bonus on the way!!!

I probably took the middle way down and up, neither hard nor easy.
Found easily enough, on a very rainy afternoon, after a few looks in other places.
The area was rather slippery, so don't attempt this when it's wet unless you know what your doing.
The lid was tough to open, so I tapped it agianst some rocks to loosen it.

Took the hard way down the easy way up.

Lid on container was so hard to get off, nearly broke some nails!

Thanks for the cache and the wander down this splendid area.

I left SecretSquirrel-BJC in the car and headed off solo (he has already done this one). Enjoyed the walk to the lookout and then detoured off towards the cache. Getting there was easy, coming back required a bit more effort. 25 minutes all up. TFTC

Nice cache and great area. Thanks for the cache Osotogari.
Lately I've been on the countdown to my 100th cache,
this puts me on 87, so 13 to go.

Took: nothing.

Left: a storm troopers head.

A great walk through this area, and another nice hide.

Thanks for the cache Osotogari. My legs will be thanking you tomorrow!

Feels like a bit of time between caches for the puddle gang so it was great to get out with Puddle Kid and Puddle Teen for the walk to the cache. Puddle kid was fascinated with the various plant life and puddle teen was taking photos galore.

Thanks for the excuse to go for a walk!

Nice walk to here, haven't done this track for a while. Cached wasn't hard to find, stream no more than a trickle now.
Had the usual problem opening it, used the "bash the lid against a rock" method...worked fine. Thanks.

Well, that was a totally new adventure! Fantastic! I have obviously been to the lookout before, but had no idea that there was a walking track here! Love it! Mind you, it took me considerable time to find the cache! – Well, I have a good excuse! It was under a mini waterfall! After yesterday’s rain, the creek has some water in it, and whamo! But, due to VERY tight fitting lid, the contents were dry! I have replaced it where it was, but will be interesting to see after some heavy rain! Thanks Osotogari!

2488 - Catching up on some newer ACT caches...

I've never walked this far down before - quite nice really. The only problem is that the first big rains and this ones a gonna... needs to be moved slightly.

TNLN - TFTC !!

Cheers....

Great winters day for walk in the area. Hadn't been down this far before so was a good chance to have look around. Cache was found a few mintues looking, lid was a bit tight, however the suggested 'knock' did the trick. Log signed and cache replaced and then back up the track for the walk back.

A very fast brisk walk (to keep warm) to a nice little spot in the mist. No water today. Could be slippery when wet though.

Thanks Osotogari - it was a nice walk, nearly on good paths all the way - came via Shepherd's lookout - lovely views all around here looking down the Murrumbidgee.

Hmmm - I had some trouble getting the lid off and had to tap it gently off with a rock. I closed it up with my hand, then realized I hadn't put the pencil in. Oops - couldn't open the container up again - so left the pencil with the cache. I hope the next finder can open the container.

It sounds like the lid is sticking so feel free to bang it against a rock to open it. A little crack in the side of the lid would not hurt it. I will get out there next week to fix her up.

Cheers

Reperio at 1945. Joint FTF! I had just pulled in to the driveway when the notification came through, so pretty much turned around and headed back out. I was only here a couple of weeks ago enjoying the views from the lookout, but alas no view to be seen tonight. Arrived to find one car parked the start of the lookout track, and figured it had to be a cacher of sorts, so raced down to find out who it was, and it was none other than Black Bunny. Perfect...not only a beautiful night for a walk, but now I have some company as well. We made our way down the start of the trail but before long our geocaching brain kicked in and we made for a straight beeline to the cache. The ground underfoot was a lot easier than thought (with a few rocks aside) and before long we were at GZ and the cache was found after a short search.

Pretty much retraced our path back to the trail and to savour a nice little adventure completed.

Gratias Black Bunny for the company and Osotogari for an enjoyable cache.

Saw this one pop in while I was at the computer so a quick grab of the coat and tourch and off cache hunting. Arrived at the carpark and no other cars around so a nice quiet start to my walk to GZ. About a third of the way down the path, Marcus Vitruvius jogs down to join the hunt for the cache.

I am sure that we ignored the paths for most of the way down and back from the main path to the cache, but it was not too bad going under foot. We arrived at GZ and made a quick find on the cache and an empty log sheet, so an enjoyable joint *FTF* was had. Now just to scramble up the slope and back to the car. Thanks Marcus Vitruvius for the company on the hunt.
