A little day to ourselves in Whakatane found us the perfect opportunity to explore this neck of the woods! A great day trekking along the Nga Tapuwae o Toi track with some spectacular views, whilst picking up these caches at the same time. A fun Greek lesson at the same time!
A lot of muggles on this half of the track! Had to wait for them to pass before we could make the grab. Thanks for the hide!

[green] Home for Christmas. Well, sort of. Home is actually Palmerston North, the rest of the family are in Rotorua, and now I am in Opotiki with mum and the rest of the family who left for the beach a few days ago, staying at the Tirohanga Campground. I haven't swum in the ocean for years!! Got here Christmas Eve after caching most of the way up from Rotorua, with the exception of Kawerau to Whakatane. The wind slammed the car door shut on mum's hand, and so we had to get it checked out at Whakatane Hospital. No bones broken, luckily, but plenty of other crush injuries. Time will fix them easily enough.
Day after the day after Christmas. I borrow my sister's car to spend a day on the hikoi o Nga Tapuwae o Toi.
Thanks for the cache, and Merry Christmas from the Seagnoid!

During wonderful afternoon walk on the Kohi Point Walkway (as far as I got) , I was happy to find some cool boxes on both sides of the track
Thanks to Geckoh for this nice and challenging cache-series [^] - and cheers from Germany!

A trip from Rotorua to Whakatane (for a Greek Lesson) and then on to Tauranga. Another lovely day on the road and a few caches to boot. Thanks for placing them.
Just set off to walk as much of the path as we can and hopefully find a few caches on the way. This one all good.
Decided at this point it'll be a hard slog to get all the caches in the series, but the view is definitely worth it.. Thanks for the cache
Working back in Whakatane and daylight saving meant I could tackle at least some of this walk - what amazing views thanks for bringing me here. Quick and easy find. TFTC
Walking from Hillcrest to ohope this was in plain sight so hid it a bit better. Tftc
Went past this cache twice today after having to double back to the spot where I left my glasses (2 caches back) Oh well the exercise won't do me any harm.
Many thanks

Was in Whakatane for the long weekend with the family and mother in law. Decided to get up early and do the TGC walk while the rest of the house was still fast asleep. Did the required reading the night before and headed out as the sun started rising to commence the walk. Did not have too many troubles finding the caches I looked for. Only problem was I misjudged the length of the walk and the caches I was going to do on the way back I had to skip as need to be home by 10am. TFTC and for getting me out into the bush again! Really enjoyed the walk even though it did make me realise I am not as fit as I thought I was
Cache #3 of the day
Cache #2 of the Kohi point trail.

TFTC and bringing us on this walk today. We walked the track from the Whakatane end out to the point and back. Lovely day with stunning views.
2310 GAFF2 After a DNF it was nice to fit a clue into a Find. A lovely walk, and surprised at amount of bird calls (and not owls) at that hour, compared to Darwin last year this is THRIVING!

Zatz and I found this one just before sunset.
Went the day after to "White Island", that's why we were in Wakatane in the first place.

Fixspoun and I arrived today in Whakatane and went for a little walk. We found Alpha, Gamma and Delta, but had no chance with Beta...

Almost finished the series (in reverse) which was good timing as the rain had started and it wasn't going to be a passing shower! TFTC
Teamed up with Spiderhouse to try and knock off a few more Eastern Bay caches. The weather held long enough for us to launch our assault...
On a mission to find the TGC caches. Have done this one already, but a first time visit for Spiderhouse. Cache is all good.

Out for the day with Squirrel Nutcase for an assault on Geckoh territory. The Squirrel has found this one before, but still he stood back and watched us work.
Thanks Geckoh.
Thanks Geckoh.
No problem finding the tree but I reckon the cache has swapped sides. No dramas tho. By the way, thanks for the Munzees. TFTC

Kiwi69 and I decieded that this was our challenge, so made an early start for Whakatane from home. It's now 7.30 and we can already see that the day is going to be a warm one.
A very nice walk at this point with lots of talk and a bit of huffing and puffing
Nice hide and nice find, a few runners about, generally heading back down

Out & about caching in Whakatane with C&D with Toi's circuit our main objective for the day. Nice hides along this part of the path although it helps that we know our natives! TFTC
Another quick easy find, and we were muggled by a couple from Tauranga. For the next few caches, we would get ahead of them, and they would catch up on us at the next cache. They were fascinated. TFTC
Day 3 of the trip home to Christchurch, Whakatane to Te Araroa. Hmm need to brush up my hint trees! Got there. Thanks for the hide
Thankyou Geckoh for all those Caches we picked up of yours today, very good walk from "Westend to Hillcrest.TFTC
What a beautiful spring day for a walk along the Toi track! Spring is definitely here.
A weekend in Whakatane was the perfect time to tackle this series.
Thanks for placing the caches along this trail, with (in our opinion) very accurate coordinates and difficulty/terrain ratings.
A nice quick find. Thanks

Final cache for the day... too dark to carry on... damn it. This took a lot of searching. Don't think the cache is in its intended spot. As it was dark, signed log and returned to where I found it. TFTC.
By now we really should be better with our tree identification this time we WILL remember for next time .
Found after looking for previous rewarewa. If only I knew what it looked like 15 minutes ago! Next time!
.... and to the left!! He got rather wet and muddy as well as the cache!
We will return for more fun along the walkway on a sunny day!

Started on the TGC challenge tonight and visited the first 5 caches in the dark. Found this one quite quickly with the hint. SL TFTC
Completed the whole series. Enjoyed the walk and views of all the bays. The weather held up well too thankfully. No caches posed any real difficulty's. Thanks for bringing me here.
These caches are good educational material, now I know what a Rewarewa looks like! Quick find.

We were in Whakatane on a lovely sunny day & ideal weather for such a challenge. Once at GZ the cache was quickly found. Now onto the next cache in this challenge.
