Thanks so much for the cache. I agree that its a great spot for one. Cache in good nick. Pen dead so I left a new one and took a small marble. The Lost City is beautiful - I had a lovely time wandering around by myself as the only person here. Felt like I was in an Indiana Jones movie. Amazing sounds and not too many flies.4WD track to get here was not challenging - but do agree with the parks advice about being in a full-size 4WD with good clearance. A small one would make it in good conditions but if wet or otherwise degraded by conditions it might be a struggle.Cheeers!
After spending a lot of time searching around point zero we couldn't find this cache.Team Mavos Albert and Maria
No lost cache here. We found the bison tube in pretty much the first place we looked. Thanks for the super accurate coords.Freddo and e.gregory1 were heading up the middle of Australia following Stuart's well trodden route. We were travelling in air conditoned comfort and style. No stale food. No camels to carry water. We were leaving the cold winter for the northern season.Today was the day to find this cache. Today is the seventh day of Augustus Caesar's Month in the wonderful year of twenty twenty four. We found your cache container and added some inky stuff to the paper sheet or note pad you have supplied for a log book or scroll. The cache container and log book or scroll were in good condition. It was so hot. No wind today. With the log signed and the cache replaced it was time to leave. Onwards to the next cache. Woot, that is not to far.I would like to show my respect and acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the Land, and their continuing connection to it. I wish to pay my respects to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures; and to Elders past, present and emerging.I will apologize right now, because everything from here on is here solely for the purpose of padding the word count and winning that one hundred word diamond badge again. Somebody moved the goal posts. So many caches to find. So many caches to log. We find them, sign them and replace them. This particular geocache was found using one of the following GPS enabled devices, Garmin GPSr, Montana 680t, Oregon 650 or Dakota 20 and an Apple iPhone 11 using the marvelous Cachly app. Waypoints and paperless geocaching were downloaded via GSAK 9. Log prepared, checked and submitted using GSAK publish logs macro.Warning, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to exercise, meeting new people and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Beware: you may have fun. Apologies for the generic part of the cache log. I found this cache on a trip from Adelaide to the top end with Freddo for a few weeks. It was a hot afternoon to be wandering around here, but the cache was soon found in good condition. Thanks dbanksy for the cache and a favourite point for the great location.
Awesome place for a cache. Now a micro bison not a small. We found your cache today 26 July 2024 11:44am , while enjoying another day in our beautiful countryside. TFTC dbanksyFavourite point awarded.
No longer a snack container - think small!!Took a while to find as well covered and up high. Great cache for a 100th find
Ocw the Bebes as we visit the area. A tricky little find but got there in the end. Tftc
OCW PelDroedGwin Exploring the National Park today. Enjoyed the drive in here and loved hopping around the formations.,Needle in a haystack stuff but we made the find. Tftc
Not the cache size we expected, didnt bring a pen. Great spot. Thanks for the hide.
Searched arround, there was also a couple of ex geocachers there so they helped with the search.
No luck for us all.

After visiting Florence and Buley, we drove to the Lost City. They say ‘high clearance’ 4WD needed, we did it in our rental Prado, but our Forester would have eaten it up, it is pretty tame.
I wonder what we found today? Replacement or throw down?
Great spot though…
Thanks for hiding.

We’re staying in Litchfield/Batchelor for a few days, and with lots of time we’re touring the area by finding all the caches around! We’ve had a great time finding all the caches around and visiting all the great spots!
This one was quite a long search, but I climbed around and through a bit and soon the cache appeared… Hasn’t been signed for a bit, maybe there are 2 containers here?
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache dbanksy

Not having a four-wheel-drive, we decided to do the hard yards and walked into GZ. We found an old walking Trail, which brought the total distance of the return walk to about 12 km.
Despite the heat, it was worth all the steps. Did not want to miss seeing the lost city.
After pondering the answers for the earth cache nearby, we made a walk to GZ where we found the hide safe and sound.
Now hidden back under the rocks again.
Thanks
Domsky

Cache in good condition. Needs Maintenance log can be removed. Container is intact, has log book in plastic bag, pencil, and a few swaps.
A 2 month/11,000km road trip up north to Darwin, where it’s a lot warmer than here, Mrs Boomajarril & I packed up the caravan, geo-dogs, and left the 9°C cold weather behind. Found with Team Betsy today after a lovely look at the sandstone pillars on the 4WD track.
Was tricky to find, GPS co-ords spot on, so to those that can't find it, keep looking. It is there at GZ. It's just covered and concealed nicely by some sandstone.

Came back this time after reading some logs and with more time to spare. SJG66 made the find in what was actually a rather obvious spot we had missed. TFTC.
We returned and perseverance paid off
Cache was found, it is in good condition and rehide as found for the next finder.

We searched for sometime but were unable to locate the cache. So many hiding spots and so much leaf litter.
Today our tour - which began in Perth, WA , and led us thru Western, Northern and Southern Australia back to Perth, was simply driving around in the Litchfield NP.
On the way we came to some interesting locations. Here we searched, found and logged this Tradi-Cache.
Weather was good in the morning and it should even get better during the day.
Thanks to 'dbanksy' for showing us this location, for the fun we had with 'lost city' and for the smiley. The search here and today didn't take too much time, fortunately.
Greetings from Germany and we hope to see you soon in the forest, prairie, desert or outback .

What an interesting area. Great to be exploring with friends. Thanks for replacing DBO
Enjoying a few days in Litchfield ... have had this Lost City destination on my list for many years and finally got to visit today and it was well worth the wait. It was muggle central at times with many visitors exploring the great outdoors and enjoying the beautiful dry season weather ... found cache and have replaced for CO Thanks dbanksy Happy to have this cache ticked off my list at last
found it TFTC. Well we had heard that these ones were not as good as the Borroloola ones, they wete wrong. These are fantastic they look older than the others
Hi, I'm the owner of this cache. And I need HELP, I'm currently living in QLD, and can't get to the cache to replace it. It's a small sistema container if someone was able to replace it when they log a find if possible....PLEASE..
Have had this on my list for years! Heading to Litchfield next weekend and happy to replace cache for you if no one has before we visit DBOz
A lovely drive and well worth getting off the beaten track.
Almost missed by the Geowife and son, as they walked past it before looking back

This cache was found today and brings our overall cache find tally to 9796. We found this as part of our 2018 Round Australia trip.
Our nice year old stumbled upon this one after I'd been searching for 15 minutes. We discovered a very wet cache that I drained out but it needs some love.
Thanks dbanksy for the cache.

Hi there dbanksy - another full day in Litchfield NP, and began with a 4wd trek to the Lost City. The cache and log are in good condition (though the track was pretty corrugated) - SL. This is our find #5018 - thanks to dbanksy for this cache.
My app didn't download the info properly and coordinates were not enough this time. So many hiding spots!! Awesome spot though. Thanks for the Hide
Drove to the Lost City on our trip to Litchfield. Nice to see this track open. Of course we had to attempt this cache. This took quite some time to find gave up and then went back for another look and bear saw what could be the cache directed me as I was very close and yes the cache was there. Excited to have found his one. Enjoyed walking around the lost city too.
Yeah!!!!!!!
Tough one when you've just got your brothers mobile phone to rely on.brilliant to finally get our hands on it,

Found it fairly easily, could do with a new clip lock bag for note book If anyone is prepared before they get there. Swapped a rubber and signature token for a reef knot ring. Coming from a scouting background it was a have to have.
Introduced a couple of friends to Geocaching hoping to convert.

Pa agreed to drive me out through Litchfield NP today, to revisit some of the areas we first visited together 23 years ago, and of course to find as many caches as possible as we continue our meandering across northern Australia after attending the Red Centre Experience over Easter.
This was #5 find for the day. I think that we were the first in this morning so it was pretty easy to grab the cache and run after adding my name to the log. Thanks for placing this cache for us to enjoy dbanksy. TNLN

What a magical place! Great to put a cache here. Thanks for that! Got there in a flash with our tough 4wd rental.

We are driving a 4WD camper of Apollo and when we got it, we got a paper with a few restricted roads and this was one of them.
As we have no clue why (canning stock route is another one which I can understand) so we were intrigued...
After getting information, we risked it.
Although some places are narrow, no idea what the fuzz is about. We have done worse roads...
Cache was luckily quickly found on this intriguing place.

A bit cheeky as road is still closed but 'have bike will travel' Not Lost. Quick find in Lost City. TFTC
Quite fast find, not to hard GPS was pretty good. Interesting location, we climbed one of the towers, nice view.
We went for a walk around the Lost City (in the 34 deg heat) before stopping to get this one on the way back. Lovely place.
Found during our first ever geocaching trip to the Territory. We love this NP and this was a great little stop

What a fabulous place to visit. Quite surreal. I can imagine that it'd be quite creepy if you were here on a full-moon night. We enjoyed walking in and around this fabulous natural "city". A favourite point from us for the location. TFTC
We have been locking for almost one hour but couldn't find it. But a very nice place here and worth a visit. TFTC The Shredder and Skyryser

A little bit of a tough find. So many places to hide but we got there in the end. Took along a friend KatherineTH who wasn't a premium member and hadn't even been to the lost city before.
It took a while to locate the box. The GPS signal went crazy and every rock was a potential hiding place but I didn't want to leave without this cache even if it meant to stay the night. Lost city became some kind of obsession because it's such a beautiful place (regarding the photos) and I knew it's not allowed to go there with a rental car/camper van.
After watching videos of the track, reading reports we decided it's not that difficult and we'd give it a try. In the end I don't know why it's a forbidden track, it was really easy, a bit narrow at some places but we made it without a problem with a Hilux campervan! I don't know what the fuzz is all about but I'm glad we did it!

Out and about from Wangi camp grounds and visited many new and interesting places. We picked this one up on the way.

This took a few minutes because the GPS signal was a bit erratic, but otherwise a quick easy find in a beautiful area. TFTC.
Nice quick find visiting this amazing national park with the geowife. Have been here in the wet season and is much better as there are no tourists.
Long look with no luck. Too old to be climbing over rocks for too long. Need a new set of knees.
Found within 5 minutes of parking geovehicle. One spotted it from one side and the other retrieved it (under instruction) from the other side by feel without being able to see it. Now that's teamwork. TFTC.
This is not a T4 !!!!
After 1,5h of climbing and seeking I wanted to give up.
But Pukali dont wanted to give up but at the end he found it.
This is a really nice spot had a lot of fun

After much hunting in the heat we unfortunately couldn't locate this one. A lesson to one of our boys to wear sturdy shoes after breaking his thong halfway up the rocks.
On our way south we took a little detour. At first we were a little bt afraid to drive down here as many car rentals exclude this road. But it is not that bad. And the landscape here is terrific-when you go to Litchfield you have to visit lost city. A Highlight! Greetings from Germany!
Wow, love this area. We walked around for ages checking it out.
Finally found the cache...it was on the other side of the rock.

Day out in Litchfield, found some, DNF some. Had a ball anyway...
What a fantastic area, unfortunately, DNF, despite climbing over and around GZ. I left the area covered in soot from recent fires.
thanks Dbanksy for bringingus here.
Wombat the Anthus laptop Geocoin visited, as did Runciple's Grasshopper, a Slovak Geocoin 2012, doc marten, a moose, a mammoth who wants to see sheep and a P&O Cruise souvi.

We went for a drive through Litchfield National Park, and did some caches while we were there.
As we were running short of time, we left 4 behind, but I'm sure we'll be back another time to get them.
Even though the geo-cruiser rattled and bounced over the rough road, we enjoyed the drive to the cache.
Searched for a while, but came up with the goods. Had a look around and took photos.
Thanks for showing us this area, dbanksy.

Enjoyed the drive out there and exploring among the city buildings. Luckily it didn't take to long to find this. Mr TiedyeSmileys sat on his perch on one of the upper level rocks keeping an eye out for muggles while Mrs TiedyeSmileys back at ground level grabbed and signed the cache.

The first cache of the day and already quite a search. Took me a while, with all the possibilities and the bad GPS reception. And in the end it was so easy... Unfortunately while exploring the rock formations I sprained my ankle, which meant the end of my Litchfield trip TFTC!
On July 4th We did our walk around the Lost City , had our picnic and then remembered the Cache. So while Mrs. Coggs packed up the picnic Coggs and the Drouinrooboy ventured back into the Lost City to find the Cache.

This was supposed to be my first cache chase of the day
But the fires and park rangers put paid to my drive in to the lost city.
The gate was locked
Last night at Buley camp I had noticed a few things on the map and on the cache notes.
There was a track showing up, which turns out to be the olde wagon trail mentioned in the cache notes
So with a rough and bumpy drive out of the question, I headed instead for option two.
Parking the geomobile at Blyth Homestead.
Now the homestead itself is worthy of a geocache and I spent half an hour just soaking up the “Family Album” and display of artifacts that are here
National Parks has beaten us to it though and installed a visitors book [^]
There was mention of the wagon trail to Stapleton Station in the album which made me more interested in finding it and following it to the lost city
And so this cache chase became more than just a bumpy, dusty ride in a 4WD to see some rocks.
It became an historical reenactment [:o]
My GPS map showed the course the wagon trail took, which made life easier
I headed off via the tin mine and up the hill to intercept the track.
Sure enough, right where my map showed it to be, I found the track.
It used to be drivable in a 4WD, but was closed off many, many years ago !!
I am not sure exactly when !!
The track was not the easy walk I was expecting and is just a memory on the landscape [:o]
The area had recently been burnt which certainly helped.
With a GPS showing the way and a keen eye I could follow the telltale signs in the landscape and made rapid progress toward the city
Alas it couldn't last and soon I reached the top of a ridge.
Must have been tough to drag the wagons over that !!
Which explains why the history book in the homestead says that alternative routes were usually taken
A short distance on and I reached a creek crossing and some tangible evidence of the modern 4WD era.
A couple of rusting “Road Closed” signs [:o]
Now the going got a bit rougher through the long grass and washouts left by the olde road.
I wasn't giving up now.
And so through the long grass I stomped and stomped until the outposts of the lost city came into view.
And after one hour and 10 minutes I found meself on a signposted walking track around the city
I took time out for a fizzy cola before heading the last 80 metres to GZ.
Hey a nice easy find
But then Ian and Penny had told me some vital intel a few days ago about where to look
Cache found I took the loop trail to soak up the scenery before heading back the way I had come.
I wish I could give this cache 5 fave points
But only because of the way I ended up tackling it
For those interested the following waypoints may come in handy:

Lucky to get this one as the road in was closed behind us because of a fire lit by arsonists, according to the ranger. Anyway we found it after a quick lap around the lost city. Very interesting spot. TFTC.
Very clever hide. I guess we are lucky to have found it in this place. What a nice area this is the lost city. Amazing. Tftc.
Boy it was really hot today. And despite a 30 minute search we could not find it.
This was our 8th cache in our caching run today - and we found it at around 15:30.
(So this is our 4617th total find.)
We thought this would be a quick find, but the GPS led us around and around - fortunately in ever decreasing circles.
Took: Nothing
Left: Purple Ring
Thanks dbanksy for the hunt today.
