We went we saw we enjoyed the view but alas no luck. Maybe gone maybe needs to be looked atwhile visiting from vic
Having spoken to someone who had placed a TB in this cache, you may need to do maintenance on it as from photos exchanged etc looks like cache may have been buried under fallen rocks and undergrowth etc. No disrespect intended, just saying.
Hiya, no disrespect, might just be us being hopeless but 7 pairs of eyes and couldnt find cache. Have exchanged photos with others and looks like it may have been buried under fallen rocks and undergrowth.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Found the location. Sadly can not locate the cache. I see the previous 2 visitors could not find it either. Beautiful spot to visit!
Visited this one as we were nearby today after finding it last year. Sadly it was not where we found it previously and I didn't have a replacement.
Had to work a bit for this one - several possibilities. ..... and there it was, carefully concealed. TNLN, thanks for bringing me here!

Rode out here yesterday but a photographer was taking photos of a very pregnant muggle so we didn't bother looking. Returned first thing this morning and an official for some adventure race was set up on the corner looking right at GZ! Mr Beetle distracted her with a snake skin he found while I dealt with the cache. Then we continued our ride to the next fort where we saw some fishermuggles reeling in a decent sized couta.
Stopped on the way back to check out the quarantine museum. An interesting time had here so a favourite point for bringing us out here.
Thanks.

Lovely break from our trip from Cairns home to Mackay. Nice walk up the hill (of course we went the long way, doh! Lol)
Such a shame you didnt find this one SKIpair, we've done a few today that you've found and it's definitely there!! We took the TB to move along. TFTC SL

Parked right at the end of the park and took the short-ish walk to GZ. Managed to take the best route and soon myself at the bunker thingy. Took a minute or so to find the cache, but again, all was good and the cache was soon in hand...and the log signed.
Sat in the shade for a few minutes before finally setting off back to the car. Enjoying not having to rush anywhere on this trip/holiday.
Thanks again ICP.....cool views from GZ.

We have arrived in Townsville today for a week, set up in the caravan park
In the afternoon we spent the afternoon caching around Rowes Bay, wonderful scenery along the beach front. Many families enjoying the many pic-nic areas.
Great views seen from GZ. Favourite point given

Quick find. The last 2 visits I had to keep on going past due to muggles having wedding photos at this magical spot. Thanks for the hide
Found today, full log later. Dropped a TB that wants to get back to the Victorian Surfcoast by November
[font=Tahoma]Went for a leisurely 5 km stroll along the parts of the Shelly Beach and Under the Radar trails this afternoon. On my return, I stopped in to grab this cache. Nice views from the GZ out towards Magnetic Island.
Took nothing and left nothing. Log signed. Cache and log found to be in good condition.
Finding this cache has now given me a total find count of 1486.

Nice stroll to find this one on a typically beautiful North Queensland Sunday afternoon. Quick easy find. TFTC
Our first trip to the Pallarenda area and it was an interesting drive and wander up the hill. For the second time today the cache was in the first place we looked! Nice container, thanks I.C.P. Signed and replaced before heading back via the beach, where we could see a caching location on the tip of Magentic - hmm ... holidays coming up....

So, I decided to go for a drive this weekend.
Headed out from Mackay on Saturday and headed for Clermont.
Not enough so went to Charters Towers and stayed the night.
Done a few caches in Charters and then headed for Townsville.
Stayed the night and headed home on Monday.
Glad it was a long weekend.

All the "up" was hard work on the hill in this heat but definitely worth the view in the end. Have dropped in Polly the Parrot TB to enjoy the bird's eye view. Tftc insane.cache.posse
Didn't have a writing stick, so will have to visit again and bring some swaps for the little ones.
My plan early this morning was to take a walk from Pallarenda out "under the radar" and collect a few caches on the way.
A short walk from the carpark and I soon found myself here. Coordinates were excellent, as was the container camo though a small rock had been placed in front of the container.
This is a great spot - just a pity about the graffitti. Well worth the visit.
Thanks for the cache, ICP.

#6229 With only a precious couple of days in Townsville to go exploring with a few caches on the side, we were opting for some sightseeing type caches. We commenced our walk whilst there still only a few people out and about which made for an enjoyable stroll. We arrived at GZ and The GeoPrincess was quite intrigued with the structure albeit disappointed with the graffiti covering it. Instead she set about the task of locating the cache container and soon had the well concealed cache in hand. We were surprised that there has been somewhat of a hiatus since this cache's last find. It needs more visitors . Our thanks to insane.cache.posse for luring us out here, it was a terrific walk. Cheers [^]
Unfortunately I had to DNF on this one, simply because of the billions of mozzies that were all after my blood. I was waving and slapping with my hat like a mad man but it was a losing battle. Nice location anyway.
It took me some time to find it, especially because I was suffering a massive Mossie attack. Nice view anyhow....
Two travelbugs were waiting or a lift, so I gave them the opportunity for a long journey.

Out exploring the local area with kezzzzz, and I thought I'd have a look to see what caches were around.
This one came up as being only 110 m away, so needless to say, I thought I'd better go and have a look!
Loved the cammo on this one. I'll have to keep it in mind for my next hide.

This seemed like the perfect spot to drop off a TB we brought up with us from NSW, his goal is to visit popular fishing spots on the coast, and there were plenty of fishing muggles passing by whilst we discreetly tried to search for this one. Lisa Simpson TB was also sighted, still safely in this cache. Great cammo, TFTC
Found this one with geoson whilst Mrs H & geodaughter stayed in the cool airconditioned car. We noticed a lot of adult males making their way to the nearby nude beach this afternoon, one of which wearing nothing but budgie-smugglers seemed very interested in us! Yuk!
Thanks,

dazzpete's caching streak continues with another Townsville cache. We headed out to Pallarenda directly from work to find plenty of muggles in location. There were done up teens getting their photo taken in what look like their School Formal get ups. There were plenty of MTB muggles huffing and puffing up the hill as well as we joined them on our way to GZ.
Fortunately geoD spotted something that was just that little bit out of the place and a quick find was had. A short pause to enjoy the view and we were back on our way home.

We have our GPSrs loaded with caches for this Townsville trip and other than the puzzles, haven't really done much in the way of research of the caches we are going to. As a result, we just had the traditional cache symbol here as we set off to find the cache. We crossed the bridge and saw one track seeming to go flat around the hill and another heading up the hill. We were about to go on the flat track but thought we had better check on the cache page first. The first thing we saw was the cache name so that answered that question (although our 'flat' track ended up being the short cut to GZ anyway).
Luckily a nice quick find at GZ so we could enjoy the views.

Back in Townsville for a couple of days, before we start our journey west.
Picking up a few that we missed or couldn't find on our first visit.
Very well camouflaged container, if you weren't looking for it you wouldn't find it.
Thanks for the hunt today, insane.cache.posse.

It's great when you are showing visitors around , gives you the chance to entertain their 6year old and you can tick some geocaches off the list . Once we had replaced the cache we obviously had to check out the other bunkers further up the hill, as maybe there was some more hidden treasure there .

Our early morning walk today took us up this hill. Great views and clever cam. Cheers.
As I had no idea what was down this way, I simply kept driving. I was happy to see that I could drive right in to a close parking area for this cache. A short walk up the hill later and I was at ground zero. Then I spent about 10 minutes looking for the cache. Eventually I found the right spot, but still didn't "see" it for what it was. Nice camo, something else I think I am going to take back home with me!!!
After I signed the log and replaced the cache two muggles came around the corner from the beach so I timed it just right

After striking lucky on the cache near the car park I thought I should go for this cache. Told the geo ferals where it was roughly and let them run ahead. By time me the wife and the small geo feral arrived at CZ my bigger two geoferals were just replacing the cache and had completed the signing duties.

This was our 3rd cache in our caching run today - and we found it at around 11:52.
(So this is our 4769th total find.)
Thoroughly enjoyed our stroll to the cache today.
We noted that the cache is (supposed to be) in plain sight and that we shouldn't have to move anything, so went looking on that basis. Then we had to read the hint. Finally we had to move something to retrieve the cache. We then placed it back exactly as we found it.
Took: Nothing

Sidney the Koala Travel Tag (TB3Y992) hasn't been mentioned since 10 Mar 12 when BNRJKastner placed it in this cache, and needs to be marked as missing by the Cache Owner.
WanderingAus wandered by on day 98 of our annual Climatic Refugee trip, making our way from Darwin towards Perth via Townsville, after stopping for a few days in Mount Isa.
After a sumptuous 'Two For One Tuesday' (two lunches for the price of one) at the Casino I left the WanderingMrs to satisfy her pokies itch and went off on a Waymarking run, with a tiny bit of geocaching thrown in for flavour.
I took a run out to the Town Common and the Rowes Bay Golf Club, and then continued on to the end of the road to visit the Waymark WMF3W2 Cape Pallarenda Gun Emplacements - Townsville by bucketeer. On the way there I noticed this cache on the gpsr, so I slowed my climb up the hill and made a fairly quick and easy GAFF 0 find.
My Groundspeak find No 2840, LCC, TNLNSL, dropped my WanderingAus Happy New Year 2008 Gold GC, my WanderingAus GeoMobile TB and a few other travellers in for a visit before grabbing them back again.

Sadly for my one remaining lung, bucketeer chose the third Gun Emplacement for the Waymark, so after a brief break to do a bit of writing I continued on up the hill.

TFTC insane.cache.posse. Found while out on a walk with my neighbour, so introduced her to the fine art of geocaching. I think I may have converted another muggle into a keen cacher. Congratulations on the cammoflauge of the container, looks awesome just like the veiw from GZ. SL TN Left a Bob Todd Motors key chain from my old home town. Glad to be in Townsville now though as I had pretty much found all the caches in Port.
# 206 As we come down from Bower Bird Blue, we noticed a couple of kids hiding behind a fig tree. Thats a bit strange. As we walked out to the road, the police did a slow cruise past, so the monkeys went back to the car while Champs pointed out where to cut off the now fleeing fugitives.
Once in the park, the cache was an easy walk up the hill, and the cache was identified quickly, but we had to wait for a few muggles to clear off before the cache was retrieved and signed.
