True to our word, we're back in NZ and headed off to pick up the final of this excellent puzzle cache as soon as we had time to head in this direction. Mrs RW, the puzzle-doer of the team, had worked this out in April but we were back in the UK at the time. This month was our next visit to the family, who live on the North Shore. When the idea of lunch at one of our favourite hostelries came up today she leapt at the idea, as it's nearby. While the others finished off an excellent lunch, Mrs RW nipped out in the car. After 12,000 miles and six months a DNF was unthinkable, but at first the cache proved a bit elusive. She had got it into her head that it was a nano and there were just so many places it could be. Suppressing a sinking feeling, she walked off, checked the details and then came back to check that the GPSr still led to the same spot now that it had had time to settle. It did, but this time she decided to abandon preconceptions and just go with the old mantra "Now, where would I put it?". Of course, the cache was in hand very shortly afterwards. Happy days! Thank you for a terrific puzzle - of course, we are giving it a favourite point.

Another late night in front of the computer bringing the co-ordinates to life. Another mystery solved, thanks again for the hide.

Thanks for fixing up the images. I did not know there was so many airlines out in the universe. Thank goodness for google, broadband and patience with searches! Also asking the right question! Finding the numbers was the challenge, becoming co-ordinates was the easy bit (thank goodness there is an easy bit sometimes!).
Arrived at GZ, walked up to potential hiding place, when a large vehicle parked right next to me! Could not search or grab cache without being well and truely muggled. Walked back to car, and kept myself busy, whilst they finished filling in a invoice! Decided to wait for them to leave, which they did after 5-10 minutes, and then I made my grab. Thanks for the hide (very busy place) and bringing us here.

Thumbs up from Geochecker. Unfortunately we are 12,000 miles away. On the upside, we will be over in Spring and fully intend to go for the cache while heading for lunch in the area at one of our favourite spots.
Of the list of finders of this puzzle cache, I don't recall any of them asking for help with this puzzle.
Happy caching!
Happy caching!
Like many others I've solved the first part (determine which airlines are represented) and have tried many different things in order to derive a set of numbers. I've solved well over 200 puzzle caches, including many 4-5 star puzzle caches so I'm pretty familiar with "basic puzzle solving". This may not be as easy as intended.
Note to anyone working on this puzzle in order to complete the Master of Mystery puzzle cache - I generally don't reply to emails asking for help because I get too many emails as it is without having to answer the same question over and over again - "I've worked out the airlines, what do I do next?". What you do next is frankly easier than working out all the airlines and only requires application of some fairly basic puzzle solving techniques to work out. There is no guess work involved. Honestly, if you're struggling with it then chances are you're over-thinking it. Good luck!
This had been on my to-do lto solve for ages but just didn't get around to it till the beginning of the year. Now it is at the end of the year so it was about time I got it completely off any list.
Cheers for the puzzle and the cache.

Having spent a weekend burning up fuel in miles on the road to sign off puzzle caches and not having very much success, we still decided to take a detour to see if we could sign this one off. Was chuffed to have solved the puzzle a few weeks back, but even armed with the green tick of success wasn't sure what GZ had in common with the puzzle. Anyway we arrived at GZ to find 2 young bulls in residence in the parking area, having some playful batting at each other. We looked each other and decided they were too close to GZ for either one of us to be willing to get out of the car and make a dash to GZ. Some neighbours spied the bulls and the locals decided to round them up and herd them down the road. We decided to retreat to a nearby cache in the meantime to await the clearance of GZ. Called back 1/2 hour later and bulls cleared out and we could make attempt to find the cache. Soon had it in hand. Yay SL. TFTP & C.
I had done all the hard work with solving this one ages ago. After completing the Puppy Powertrail with stretch.kerr we made a quick stop to find this one. TFTP&C!
Solved yonks ago, and quickly found after a day on the puppy powertrail with mike-miss.
Out and about with the Future Finder this afternoon for a scenic drive and to chip away at my solved puzzle book. Having solved a similar version of this puzzle I knew exactly what to do. Still, this was significantly harder. I still don't know a couple of the airlines! Luckily, it was obvious what there numbers would be. Nice quick find at GZ. Cheers for the cache!
No problem with the tails, but then what? Put it away for a rainy day and eventually it became clear.
In the area today for lunch, so despite the weather a few drive by puzzle pick ups were the order of the day.

I was in the area today doing a few other caches at Riverhead, stopped by to pick this one up before heading home. Thanks for this ache.
Knew I would be in the area today for a few other caches so decided to add this one to the list. Must admit I did need a bit of a steer on this one but hey what are friends for then? There is a lot of construction going on nearby and GZ is looking a little like a dump site. No problems retrieving the cache though. TFTC

Started working on this as soon as it was published, bit of a worry as it's not something I normally do for puzzles! Got the easy ones quickly but needed a few more nights to get them all. A perfect touch down on GZ and the cache was in hand.

The hardest part was identifying the tails, knew some but others took a bit longer. Once we had done that it was very straight forward. Thanks for another great puzzle and a nicely hidden cache. Almost a fly-by
Thought the hard part of this puzzle would be identifying the tail fins - but no, found them easily enough. Then what?? Well . . . we are now very knowledgeable on the facts and figures associated with the above airlines! Finally we took another look at the puzzle late this evening, tried something else, and it all fell into place. Had a slight hiccup when geochecker gave our solution a red cross at first. Then we realised there was a maths sign error in the puzzle and got the big green tick,
Headed straight out, and made the find at 11.15pm.
FTF # 231 .
Thanks for a challenging puzzle and another FTF!
