The Adelaide Leap Day Mega and Canberra Geobash gave us a great excuse for a road trip. This trip has shown us so many new and interesting places as weve chased LGAs, oldies, challenges, interesting D/T combinations, rarer cache types and favourites.Meeting up with friends old and new along the way, we sometimes cached together and sometimes alone but always had a great time.Today we joined the mega Brindabella 4wd tour and explored this fabulous part of the country. A most enjoyable way to spend the day. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for us and adding to our enjoyment.
Another great hide. Loving exploring these tracks. Found with lorigus74 while in town for the GeoBash. TFTC growingupisoptional
A clever one here. Visiting Canberra for the Mighty Mega. A wonderful event! Many thanks growingupisoptional for providing this game piece for our enjoyment.
A short stop , Found on the Geobash 4WD tour, out for a geocaching tour with a convoy of 7 carsFound as convoy 1
Tagging along on the organised Brindabella Tour as part of the Capital Geobash Mega. Thanks to our team leaders who lead us to some wonderful places throughout the day. We had a mixture of finds and everyone had a go at finding one. The forestry tracks were dusty but that didnt seem to put a damper on the fun we all had. Thanks to all for organising. Log book signed as convoy 2.
Out on an incredible adventure with the Aussie cachers from around the region. I had an amazing time driving around, caching, and hitting all the bumps on the road. We ended up seeing a helicopter up close and personal, while it grabbed some water to put out the nearby fire... and to think our legs after a T5 cache was the only thing on fire. Thank you for hiding and maintaining this cache - it contributed to an incredible day out there in the park!
Here with a bunch of cachers as part of the Mega. Its a beautiful day to be out 4x4 caching! Fun to meet new cachers and see some pretty countryside. Really excited to be exploring a new part of Australia for me. Signed under the group name of Convoy 1. Thanks for the cache!
A nice oldie. Great location and cache is in good condition. Found as part of the geobash tour. Signed as convoy 1. TFTC.
TFTC found whilst on the mega 4wd tour with Crack n Lee Lee & Tiz13. Signed as Convoy 1. Cool hide, a definite favourite ????
Caching our way around Canberra taking in the sights with 2beez and attending Mega. Today we are on a 4wd tour organised as part of the Mega weekend. On board we we have 2beez and Tiz13. Thanks growingupisoptional for creating for us all to enjoy. Signed as Convoy 1. I'm out on the Brindabella 4WD Tour, another great tour on during the [Capital GeoBash](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC9PNFB_capital-geobash). This was another of the great caches we found in between great views and exciting driving. Thanks for arranging this excursion.Signed as Convoy #2Thanks for find #5945TNLN
Perhaps we weren't meant to go on this planned 4wd tour. Our previous attempt to join the testing of this tour was thwarted, today half the team was taken out with migraine, and a rock to sidewall shredded a tyre on Brindabella road. So you could say this was quite the adventure for FFLL No 1 and "Evie", the new geomobile. It was a great day out collecting the caches in the list, and the views were worth the trek. The added bonus of the helicopter was unexpected. Thanks ALL7 and mtrax for the company, and the organisers for keeping us all safe.
Out and about in Canberra with the view to collect Multies, challenges and suburban cachesIn the Brindabellas for our 4WD adventureCaching with and signing as the group 'Crew2' and having a great day.TFTCache growingupisoptional
FFLL text me early morning and asked me come with her for 4WD becasue FFLLx2 not well so I come with her for fun drive 4WD..i would like say THANK YOU Lynette.... She is very good drive ... Not me... LOLFound on the Geobash 4WD tour with Convoy#1.. thank you ...
We came to Canberra for the Geobash Event and couldn't resist booking some of the great tours on offer. Today, one of the team took the "suss vulture's wings" on the 4WD tour in convoy 2. We were treated to lots of dust, some rough tracks and great views. Of course we had to find some caches along the way, which were signed as convoy 2.Thanks to growingupisoptional for providing and maintaining this caches.

Teamed up with Crack'n'LeeLee and 2beez for todays 4WD tour organised as part of the Canberra Mega. We had an awesome day out grabbing a few caches as we went (Tiz13 hold on tight in the back)..we were part of Convoy 1 ...Car 7 . Charlie was our call sign and we had the task of bringing up the rear...so I dubbed us to be Charlie's angles while Bosley the driver aka Crack mysteriously developed a NZ accent...Bro .....
Today is Brindabella 4WD Day.Oh, we are backin the ACT, are we?Log signed and cache replaced as found on March 29, 2024. TFTC, growingupisoptional
We were in the My Corre area on an organised 4x4 tour as part of the fun and adventure for the Capital Geobash Mega.Happily our tour guide did not take us near the puddle of death, no vehicle in our convoy would be anywhere near capable of attempting it so we stayed 7.7k away and satisfied ourselves with locating a geocache instead. Once at GZ with this many eyes looking the cache was located quickly and the log signed as convoy 2 to save room. Many thanks for showing us this fantastic area and keeping us away from the puddle of death, and our tour guide for the great fun day.
Well its finally time for the Canberra Geobash Mega. After a big day yesterday of travelling and of course caching ( i didnt now it took over 12hrs to get to Canberra from Melbourne ) it is now my first full day here.I teamed up with Roaming Howie, OzHockeyChick and Kristysadventures and we became team Pork for the day.We all piled into the GeoRanger for a fun day out and the 2 big kids had the back seat and we were off on the 4WD trip around the hills.Crossing the boarder again and it would have been good to see the puddle of death but Im not that silly to attempt it.Plenty of scenery and frantic views on this trip.Signed in ad convoy 2.Thanks growingupisoptional TFTC.
Canberra Geobash Road Trip 2024. Day Four: 4x4 Tour with RoamingHowie, posums & Kristysadventures. Logs signed as "PORK" or "Convoy 2".I spotted the sneaky cache as we all discussed the NSW/ACT border. Thanks for bringing us here by placing this cache, growingupisoptional ??~????????~
Well Team PORK (Posums, OzHockeyChick, RoamingHowie and I) were in for a treat along this four wheel geo driving tour as part of Convoy 2. It was a little underwhelming to cross the state and territory border without a big sign or monument but at least it was marked by a geocache! The views throughout however have been rather pretty.
Enjoying a great time on our Mega 4WD tour, and we signed all logs as a team, Convoy 1.It was a beautiful scenic day out with like-minded friends and acquaintances and a big thanks to Greg for sharing your vehicle with patrol14 and myself.Thank you, growingupisoptional, for another good hide ??
Today was great but maybe not quite as exciting as your adventures. We were surprised to find that we were back in NSW. Log found, signed, returned and we were on our way. Thanks for placing this cache.
I didn't realise that we had ventured into NSW. Our drive today didn't replicate yours although it sounds like it would have been fun to do. Thanks for placing this cache for all to enjoy.
Day #4 Geobashing It was 4WD tour day. Somehow I ended up with a band of misfits in the car which included OzHockeyChick, posums and Kristysadventures. Whether they all return back to Mega HQ is another story! All caches were signed as PORK or Convoy #2.As we crossed back from NSW into Canberra we nabbed this one late in the arvo.A big thanks goes to growingupisoptional for taking the time to add 7.7ks from the "Puddle of Death" to the geocaching map for us all to find and enjoy.----------------------------------------------------------Looking for caches to find when visiting Victoria? Why not check out the geocaching lists available on the [Geocaching Victoria Website](https://geocachingvictoria.com.au/information/great-caching-lists/). Haha what a cache name. Great to pick this up driving past. Thanks for getting me out and about growingupisoptional
Find#5553Nice hiding place What a awesome day to be out in the Brindabellas Thanks for the cache
Out for a day of 4wdriving with some great peeps checking out the trail for the Geobash 4wd adventure. Such beautiful country to be exploring, and always great to get the Triton out on the trails. Heres to an enjoyable day out with onieferret, Minniek, GLISS! Isopeda, loci612, Darksidedan, Iamcoust, Flinstones, Domsky, Ozkeg, Toy Hunters, pantspeople, farmers5, Mrs Ozkeg, Jusosara, Tealby (and Im sure Ive forgotten someone). Signed today as 4WDTour. Thanks to everyone who made this day possible. Thanks for the cache.
The Puddle of Death is no more, but we were still able to easily find this cache on our 4WD adventure tour. TFTC!
Out with the Geobash 4WD trial tour. Instead of clogging up the logbook with Loci612, Darksidedan, IamCoust, Flintstones, Domsky, OzKeg, isopeda, MinnieK, Nibletricecake, Toy Hunter, Onieferret, PantsPeople, Farmers5, Mrs OzKeg, Jusosara and Tealby - signing as 4WDTour. There was quite a bit of traffic on these trail. Our cars were getting quite dusty by now. TFTC
I love the Youtube video in the description! Must of been a bugger when it happened but you can only laugh about it now! Many thanks for placing this geocache in memory of the "Puddle of Death". We found it without issues today, a good little classic hide! I will certainly be back to this area with more time to attempt the new multi-cache nearby! Thanks GUP---Joined an almost 6 hour expedition today, starting / ending at Uriarra with a convoy of four 4 Wheel Drives & 17 geocachers! Huge thanks especially too Farmers 5, jusojara, nibletricecakes and OZ KEG for making today happen! Without your organisation & 4WD's it wouldn't have been possible! Signed as many logs as I could with Loci612, but was part of the "4WD Tour" which was also signed!
I was out this way with the 4WDT testing the trip for the geobash next year. I would not normally get the chance to do something like this and I am glad i put my hand up to go.The log was signed 4WDT instead of writing a huge number of names including Nibletricecakes, MinnieK, isopeda, Flintstones, Toy Hunter, and a number of other cachers. Thanks for the adventure
Made the late decision to go on the 4WD sample tour organised by jusojara and The Farmers 5 ahead of the upcoming Canberra Mega.So glad that I did because it was a great day out. Great day, great company, great tour! All caches that we aimed for were found and signed as 4WDT.
Found with and signed as 4WD Team (4WDT) convoy which was a trial run before the Capital Geobash, a big thanks to jusojara for leading such an awesome tour around the Brindabellas! Quick find at GZ thanks to the hint, a well constructed hide! TFTC growingupisoptional!
With the 4WD Team. The puddle of death was not pleasant when we visited the site 7.7km away from GZ, although I dont know if our crack squad of 4WD enthusiasts would have been troubled by it we will never know. All good here. Thanks for the story and placement --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------In the spirit of reconciliation we would like to acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of country on which we geocache throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community. We (the pants people) pay our respects to their Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.
Found and signed dsd or darksidedan or AB or Adventure Boys or 4 Wheel Drive Tour to save space in the logbook. Thanks for the cache and the Adventure.
We travelled today in a four-wheel-drive team of four cars, exploring this area.Found together and signed as 4WDT. So many spectacular views along the way. Thanks growingupisoptional for this one. Domsky
#3175 On our way homeward bound now, we were still lucky enough to collect a few more along the way. Geo senses were right on when we reached this one and the cache was quickly located.
Even limping along on a deflated air suspension couldn't prevent us from making an attempt on this one.

Today, I teamed up with AngelG27 for a mini mission in the geounit meandering around in the forest off Blue Range Rd. A great day out with beautiful scenery!
Made our way down to this one and it was a reasonably quick find of the well hidden cache for us here.
Thanks for the hide, growingupisoptional!

Cache 6232 on 13 Jun 2020.
Time for a mission! After a week of staring at my computer. It was time to get out and find some caches. SpecimenX had the same idea so we meet at 0800 for a fun filled day or driving and cache hunting. 15 caches found all up - more than I was aiming for. We drove Brindabella and Blue Range roads mostly. It was great to get some dirt, although we were happy to hit bitumen at the end - some of the roads were quite bumpy. A fun day out with lots of laughs!
Tenth cache of the morning and a quick find at the border! Cache and log holding up okay, although the log was looking a bit worse for wear.
Thanks growingupisoptional for the cache and the fun!

On our way to 'Peaceful Parapet' & 'Panoramic Parapet' we picked up 3 road caches as we passed by this morning. The dirt road is in excellent condition thanks to a recent upgrade in preparation for bushfires last summer. Plenty of cyclists , runners , hikers and rock climbers out and about today.
Quick and easy find then walked into NSW and out again - cheap thrills, and now the real hike begins off to the twin 'parapet' caches. TFTC growingupisoptional.

This morning I focused my caching on the south western part of the area north of Brindabella Rd and south of the border. I explored the back roads through the forest picking off many of the caches on the way. A fun drive up Pabral Road and then along Two Sticks road to this cache. Quickly found. TFTC.

Out with Delta Response Team, Aquilus1 and AddictedGamer for some caching. Almost didn’t even need to leave the car. DRT could almost reach it from his window, but not quite. TFTC!!!
Long story, but hadn't planned to be here. Some locals deciding to padlock gate access to public roads. Any way, here I am. TNLNSL TFTC
Was out in the area with dty73, DRT and AddictedGamer following along the tracks exploring and finding caches along the way. Given I was in the passage seat and this was 2m when parked that pretty decent! Of course I'm also glad this was where we turned around, away from the 'puddle of death'!!! Thanks for the cache.
Headed out with Aquilus1, dty73 and, AddictedGamer to test out my new car.
Nice quick easy find, I was actually here he other day and didn't realize the number of caches I had gone past

Bit of back logging - Last one up this road for us today, our little Betsy car did well to get up here and the views were fantastic today. Wonder if my parents would let me borrow the 4WD and take it through the puddle of death, ummmm, probably not ! Cache found and we were done. TFTC
Found with JohnnyBoyACT and two muggles on a Canberra Bushwalking Club trip. We started walking from the Blue Range Road to the east. I had several maps of the area with me however each map had roads marked in different places and there were roads marked that no longer existed. After finding a suitable track we ambled (not drove) to the caches. I remember those unremittingly steep tracks from previous walks in the area. TFTC.

A fun day out with Noikmeister. The aim was to find a few caches that had not been visited for quite a while. I ended up with 16 years worth of Unloved Caches, saw some spectacular views and had a great day of laughs, tough bushbashing, Parapets, roadside caches and Weirs in weird spots.
This was the fourth cache of the day. After a tough trek to the Parapet pair, this was a nice find on the road. I was surprised it had not been found in 875 days, but was happy to get the Unloved Days. A quick find and then a reverse in the vehicle all the way back to the intersection. TFTC growingupisoptional

10th out of 11 for the day as we were en route for a FTF at 6 sticks. Quick stop and we continued on our merry way.
We were out in Sol's Patrol and I don't think he would have been keen to replicate the puddle of death adventure! That said we could enjoy it vicariously in a small way by finding this cache! Great video and I am glad the car survived to do it all again.
Thanks to GUIO for this cache. I remember him telling me the story some time ago and I did check out the youtube video. So after this I took off and took on the puddle of death.....and won! Mind you the tide was substantially lower today. TFTC!
Just a few hundred metres from here is an amazing spot, make a great cache but its on the NSW side.
It's an underground mine tunnel that you can walk into quite a way. Took us ages to find it, if you do your homework and check the internet you can find it too- the clue is the fern tree at the entrance to the horizontal shaft, look for the spoil from the mine adit- its another good clue. You need to wade through freezing water at the mines entrance and of course take a torch or 2 and good luck (it seems safe enough)

Nice youtube clip! Brought back bad memories of drowning the Patrol a few months back. Luckily got away with it but definitely gonna invest in a snorkel soon! Then I'll been able to do THIS!

Our final tunaround spot for the day (although turning around was a bit of a challenge). A quick find in the only feasible spot. TFTC
Pulled this one from its surrounds pretty swiftly on a days caching through the area with McPhan and Mrs Winglen.

5250. [green]Pretty embarrassing when Mrs Winglen points out that the spot we were passing is where Poor Cousin is. Ooops, um I was reading the map, quick look over there - a shiny distraction. Zsazsa7 made the find and we were stunned by how cool (temperature wise) the container was. It was actually chilly even though the day was very warm.

Found with Bruce's Run. BR hoped out of the car and had in in his hand in less than a minute! Great hide, well thought out, thanks.
Loved the video that went with this cache. Now that is 4WD at its best. Thanks again GUIO.
I suppose this is the NSW border although the GPS map had a little further on. The road started getting slightly rougher in the last km but nothing too bad at all. TFTC!
3527 + 109 = 3636. A run up through the mountains with Sol...
Continuing on a fun run on some fun roads we made this find - no puddle of death for us (although there was that one interesting moment...) - Thanks GUIO !!

Took a while to drive around to this one. Came across a puddle that we thought was going to be interesting, but managed to get through it. The white car certainly isn't any more though.
Thanks for the fun GUIO.
Thanks for the fun GUIO.
Upon arriving here I had a pretty good idea where the cache might be but left it for my muggle mate's kid to have a look. His sister spotted the initial camo and then let the kid grab the cache, he was very impressed with the cache container as he had obviously not seen one before. Thanks GUIO.
After our long cacheing trip up Brindabella road and dinner we were still thirsty for another cache. Perhaps a quick drive up two sticks. Parked and coudl see the likley hidy hole from a distance. Some scrambling by the geokid and we were good.
(8:31 PM) Well we got to the intersection of Two Sticks and Blue Range roads. I thought were going to head back to Brindabella Road via Two Sticks and attempt a FTF on the cache that had just been listed. JmanJezza took a turn up Blue Range and stopped. Looks like quite a few cache along here so off we went. Stopped by the sign and the suggestion by Mrs JmanJezza was correct and we soon had the goods.
Reperio at 0830. The last of the caches along Blue Range Road, and it was great the 2WD made it up here with no problems. Wasn't expecting such a nifty little hide.
