Once we found the gap in the box thorn we rock hopped along to GZ for a quick find. Some of the rocks were pretty slippery. Good work out TFTC
Found after a very enjoyable rock hop. Thanks for putting a cache here. Yes I agree, a good spot for fishing.
On holidays with frmen1. Tried to get close via land but had to back track and rock hop to gz. A bit of fun. An easy find once there. TFTC
TFTC. Cache and contents are in excellent condition. No orange tape but typical hide in the rocky environment.
The hint had me hopping around madly looking for something that I felt would be obvious. I frightened a few nesting penguins, found a dead one but no geo. In the end its sheer luck if you find it as there are so many hiding spots. I was on my one more look & Im done lap and what do you know. Bingo
Saw an echidna at GZ as we were approaching. This one was found pretty quickly despite the many options at GZ. A bit of rock hopping to get there but fairly straight forward after that. Had a good look for more nesting penguins but didnt see any here. TFTC
Tricky! I made the find after giving up, and then looked in a place that seemed unfair in light of the hint. Kids loved leaping among the rocks like mountain goats. Got a good workout racing back to the car park. TFTC.
Jetstar was having a sale…. in the middle of winter, for a destination further south than I already live. That sounds like a great idea!
So a plan for a 4 night whirlwind tour of the northern part of the state was hatched. I’ve seen lots of this beautiful state, but haven’t found a single cache. With plenty of challenges to tick off, and a long list of targeted caches, this week is the time to turn that around.
Todays adventure takes me west from Launceston to St Helens via Beaconsfield, Low Head, Bridport and Scottsdale.
I managed to make this one harder than needed. I explored a little too far one way and ended up having to push bash through thorns and prickles.
I eventually found the cache and opted for the easier route back to the car.
Thanks flange_1&tribe for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to enjoy.

Caching around Tasmania. TFTC.
Great track to the cache. So many penguin tracks through the bushes.

A bit of rock hopping while admiring the view and taking in the fresh air before locating the cache.

Bush Track and I had a joint day out caching in the area, it was enjoyable to spend the time together. We had 25 Finds, 1 DNF, and 1 we had to leave due to a Snake!
Took a little bit but soon had it in hand. Lots of Orange Rocks.
Thanks, Flange & Tribe for placing this cache and maintaining it for our enjoyment

YAY - my geobuddy did the hard yards to put his hands on this one today. 2nd find of day 2 of our Great Tassies 2023 Caching Adventure. TFHC
Great area for a bit of exploring. Morning was perfect. Cache in good condition. TFTH

In Tasmania for 2 weeks to attend the Oceania Orienteering Champs. Caching all around for DT combos and counties. Cache soon found. Enjoyed the boulder hoping to get here, and then to the end of the peninsula. TFTC

A nice easy find with aspitbiker and Famished fox. Parkour along the rocks was great fun and a man showed us some penguins. TFTC.
We found this by me and Firstfox doing parkour along the rocks we had so much fun we got to we’re we thought it was and found it nice easy cache . TFTC
We found this one by rock hopping along from the nearby cache which was like a bit of parkour and much fun. TFTC. Perfect coordinates for this cache.
Day 2 of our Tasmanian Odyssey… The plan is to attend Grumbligrot’s Celebration Event in Georgetown and target some oldies before and after… that and anything else that grabs my attention or I happen to step over, in the area…
The D/T combination was enough to lure me back out of the car…. I followed the trails down, passing the motion activated camera… and was doing well until I disturbed a pademelon who, rather than running away, ran at me veering off into a thicket at only the very last moment… I may have sworn.. loudly…
Arriving at GZ, or as close as I could get, I spent a good 30 minutes going back and forth without success…

Found with catnap777 and on our Geocaching holiday to Tassie doing what we love doing most. [:X]
The last time I was in Georgetown it was with my folks, CybergranV and her MuggleHubby. [^] We were on a bit of a mission then and couldn't fit any ROCK FISHING in. Here this time with my partner, cat' and I took the stroll to GZ and unbelievably found this old one in the very first place I looked.
We had been chased South a little early by the weather, catnap777 and I just set up camp down there for a little while longer which suited us just fine. We had a lot of geocaching business down Hobart way, and as far south as you can go. With our time on the Island running out, and with much of the water up north subsideing, it was time to head back that way via the East Coast and tsking a sharp left back to Devonport.

Every cache we visited in Tassie added to the joys of our holiday adventure finding caches in every county on the main Island during our 10 day visit. [^]

I have grouped this traditional cache generic log pertaining to each CO. I shall only deviate from the generic if there was an issue with the cache .
I would like to thank all of you for your time and effort in placing and maintaining your caches, and this generic log has nothing to do with disrespecting your time in placing them out there, as it has to do with time restraints due to the great number of caches my partner dalerious and I signed here.
EACH and every cache we visited was special, and we thank you so much. Most were chosen to qualify for Challenge caches both here and on the mainland .
There are too many of you to name individually so please accept that I acknowledge you all and I am truly grateful for your contribution and understanding .
We had this trip to Tasmania on our wish list very soon after we met. The meticulous planning began a few months ago when we finally set a date to sail to a place that I had been before, but never cached, and for dalerious, a place he cached, but never really got to see the real beauty of this place, and all it's glory. God's country about sums it up.
We started our adventure in the North West and traversed the entire Island in 10 days. We thought the weather was going to thwart our plans, but all it did was change the itinerary a tad.
Where back home was flooding, we had mostly sunshine here; apart from the North of your lovely state, and our thoughts were with those who were affected both here and at home.
Caches here took us to extraordinary places; one's we will never forget.
We also got to meet some cachers; we can't wait to meet the rest .

Was going to get this one yesterday but didn't get around to it. An easy find was made at the GZ. I couldn't get over the amount of penguin poo around the place. But thongs weren't the best choice of footwear for this cache.
Bit of a hike over rocks but an easy find.
Be careful of spikes on plant. Thorns very sharp

Found it. Took a bit of searching, and creative thinking. Hint not relevant anymore. Lovely view out to bass strait.
Hopping around here was magic today. Came to explore low head for the first time and am sure I’ll be back soon to swim and explore further. It was such a perfect day I had to restrain myself from jumping into the ocean straight away. 11km run this arvo and I’d cleared most of the caches. This was my favourite.
Gcoven was keen to track down this cache. I on the other hand had already been exposed to the spiky bramble and could have left it where it was. So Gcoven went through the bramble via a rabbit run that had a remote animal camera capturing what was about. Would like to see the footage of the tentative bramble entrance. Thanks to FLANGE_1&TRIBE for highlighting this interesting spot and the lighthouse.
Down in the Apple Isle with JACS and TeamARF for a week or so to hunt some caches and traipse about having adventures. With inclement weather fading away we utilised today to grab some along dirt roads . Managed to find a few of differing varieties! A fun day despite the rainy patches! Fab puzzles and wonderful countryside. Awesome caches all round! We are thoroughly enjoying this adventure and grabbing some very well maintained oldies awesome locations Tftc
Who doesn’t enjoy rock fishing especially when your fishing for a cache on the rocks. Grabbed this one while picking up Foghorn.
Found it after a quick search. Think perhaps the hint may not be relevant anymore.
Wonderful view at sunset. Left a diamond. TFTC

Nearly chickened out because of the thorns, but at the end of the day, what's a little bloodshed? T4T$
Off to find this one after completing the 2 nearby it took a while locate, the rocks were a bit slippery. Wazza9 located it, it was soon signed and replaced. Thanks to Flange_&tribe.
TFTC,
This is our COVID-19 2021 Tasmania adventure. ONLY because we are allowed and we were lucky enough to be able to book flights that fitted with other activities.
We have a couple of days around Launceston and today our target was caches around George Town. 7 finds and 2 DNF's.
I was very concerned given the T rating and headed towards GZ with caution. Lucky the weather was on our side.

Tftc! Took a bit of a scramble over rocks and through spiky bushes to find but all good adventures and fun for kids too, although probably not for very small children. The hint is no longer valid but the coords are good and didn’t take too long to find!
A bit of a scramble to get to GZ which added to the fun. The biggest challenge was finding a path through the prickly bushes (apparently a weed, but selected for the protection it gives the penguins) to get to the cache. Great spot. TFTC (no orange tape that we sighted)
Thanks for the cache FLANGE_1&TRIBE.
Spending the weekend in Low Head with RLD4963. After a slightly delayed start today (due to hot water issues at our accommodation) we headed out for a day of cacheing. RLD4963 had already logged this one on our previous visit to the area a couple of years ago, whilst I had been taking the GeoGSP for a walk. With the GeoGSP back in Hobart at his favourite doggy resort this weekend, I was keen to find those I hadn't had a chance to search for before.
This one was within walking distance of our accommodation, so I started out on foot with RLD4963 catching up with me later in the geomobile. I had to dodge some very prickly flora to get to GZ for this one, but once there, it was a nice quick find at GZ.

Our trend for taking the long way to caches finally paid off! No prickly bushes for us. A nice hop & skip along the rocks had us to GZ in no time, and despite the early hour of the morning I must have been in caching mode as a quick find was made (couldn’t see any orange tape).
I was surprised by the large amount of fairy penguin carcasses along the rocks. Hopeing that this may just have been due to natural causes & a sign of a healthy robust colony and not due to predators. One thing is for sure, they have not made their lives easy climbing up those rocks!
We were on a mission this trip to make 400 caches & complete the memory lane challenge. This cache marks 399, and the challenge completed! Tftc! A favourite from us.

We were enjoying a late afternoon explore of the lighthouse area. We got to within about 10m of this one but were reluctant to take on the spikey plants to get closer. Time also running short. Thanks anyway.
Last 3 caches for low head. After 3 nights. Great view of East beach. Mostly easy to access but there was some type of spikey bush growing onto the path. The cache was in great condition with a few swaps. TFTC!
After being woken early than I desired by the fog next door it was time to wander up to Low Head and explore some history and look for some caches. Weather was overcast but warm enough - I suspect we will get rain fairly soon. All caches were generally quickly found and was a very enjoyable stroll around this surprisingly beautiful area - all 7 found in about 90 minutes.
Next one on the list - wandered through the gate and down the slope (T4 is probably a bit generous but I will take it). Coordinates spot on and the cache was second spot I looked - was expecting a bit more trouble here so happy to sign the cache.

After doing the near by earth cache this was one of a number of caches we looked to do. We parked close and headed though the gate towards GZ. Missed most of the thorns and down onto the rocks were we spotted a Fairy Penguin. Off to GZ and despite no orange tag we saw a likely hide and made the find. We completed the signing duties and re hid. TFTC.
Second find of the day, still one frustrating me... Got to find on last day! Nice quick find, TNLNSL, TFTC!
On our wonderful trip around Tassie, we were on our way to Launceston and the camping spot had put a notice up today to say that it was closed as of today. That meant back to the original plans and back tracking to Bridport and George Town.
Two wonderful towns that we are glad the campsite had closed, otherwise it was going to be a day trip out to these wonderful places and we would have missed so much.
Exploring these two towns shows the magnificent local history, blown away with how well George Town has embraced the heritage.
Thanks for sharing this wonderful spot.
We found your cache nicely tucked away, signing duties done and dusted, we replaced the cache as found.
No sign of any orange ribbon, just luck that we found it.

Tassie Trip Day 212 - It was decided to do a few caches today on the GeoCycle and this was a great area to take that bike of the rack and put it back on the road to go for a short ride out to the end of the point and back collecting what was along the way.
After making my way threw the thorns along the trail to get to the GZ it was a search that initially yeilded nothing however after the hint was checked the location of the cache was not identified any easier but after just looking around the cache was found.
Thanks FLANGE_&TRIBE for showing us this great spot.

Today was spent pottering around the Tamar valley, visiting some interesting little places and grabbing a few targeted caches along the way. The weather was fantastic after quite a bit of rain overnight. I’m glad I wasn’t in the swag!
This morning I went up to Low Head for a look at the lighthouse and the pilot station. After completing the old traditional cache and the multi at the lighthouse, i wandered down to this one. The cache was found quickly and in good order. I left a TB to continue its travels.
Thanks FLANGE_1&TRIBE for the cache.
On our tour around Tassie we made here a quick stop.
After a while looking we can find the cache. A nice area but murder thorns.
Thank you and greetings from Germany send Moorhelmi

Day 17, our 4th day in the Tamar Valley region and the last day of our camping trip in Tasmania. Today we’re driving from Pipers River to Devonport, then back to the mainland on the Spirit.
We came out to Low Head to check out the Pilots Station.
Nearly gave up on this cache, and the hint is no longer relevant, but one last look was the charm.

Parked up the top and made my way down along the rocks! The terrain is not that hard and both worth a 4 but I’ll take it. Cache is all good
Today I made a late decision that I would head to g-town to collect some caches, a bit of a hit and miss here, I found some harder D/T combos but the easier ones seemed to be not there.
I am currently writing detailed logs because of a challenge provided by Project-GC. "The Author" Badge challenges geocachers to average one hundred words or more in each log. Given that I have found so many GC caches, I have to write many logs with well over 100 words for a long period of time to get my average to the target. Apologies to anyone who finds the logs tedious but it is the only way that I can strive to attain this challenge. After over 5000 plus caches (which includes all cache finds up and including yesterday), the average log length is just over 70 words. I am now entertaining the possibility that I might be able to achieve my task before the end of next year. It's surprising how much is has increase since doing this.

In Tassie with family doing a short trip around this lovely island. We saw some amazing scenery, wildlife and visited some beautiful places while touring around in our motorhome. I took the opportunity to stop and grab any caches when we could stop. We only had a few DNF's and made some good discoveries and clever hides during the trip. We had some fun and laughs along the way.
We didn't bring the fishing rods so only a spot of caching today and happy to leave it until next time. Made our way down and did a bit of rock hopping before make this neat hide. A great day for exploring the area. Visited a few travel bugs.
Thanks flange_1&tribe for placing the cache for us to find and doing the maintenance to keep it in play.
