Nice quick find while waiting for Sabato to open. Signed one of the two log papers. Great cache
After getting rid of a nearby blue face first thing this morning it's time to try the same here.Last I had read about the shot tower was that it had been damaged by cyclone Gabrielle. Last night reading the latest logs I learnt that the tower was not restored. A great shame. At least I've been lucky to view it during my previous two unsuccessful cache hunting trips. Today it was an almost instant find. I have no idea why I didn't spot it during my last visits. Hopefully the powers to be will ensure that the information signs will be retained and maintained for future people to view. Thanks for highlighting this now gone structure.
A pity the tower is no longer here. Thanks for bringing me here, I learnt something new today TFTCFind#172
Thanks for the hide. Unfortunately the log is very full and needs replacing. Sorry I didn't have the appropriate materials to do it for you.
No tower in sight, but a nice place nevertheless. The driveway is fairly busy so not easy to search. Logbook full. TFTC!
Today, taking the last impressions of Auckland, I walked with Schatoh68 through stunning places and wonderful streets. This cache was on our path. Thanks!
Pity we can no longer see the tower, but at least we can find a cache! Tftc and bringing us here.
One of my geochums challenged me to a streak - of the caching variety - and this was todays cache. Id saved it for an emergency caching moment as its on the way to find some lunch. TFTC

This took us longer than it should have, but we got there eventually! Sadly the tower is no more, but thankfully the info board is still here to remind us of times gone by. TFTC! P.S. Highly recommend Wok N Noodle across the road if you're in need of a caching snack.
Went out for dinner with bapboy1996 across the road and he told me this cache was here before he told me what the restaurant was. After a very nice dinner we popped across the road and, after some muggle avoidance, had the cache in hand. Tftc
Our last day in Auckland, our trip through New Zealand is over. Today we had some time to look for a few geocaches.Luckily we found a nice spot to take something home. Many thanks to CO for laying this cache. With warm geocach greetings from the Netherlands
After a horrible night in a hostel we tried to travel in Auckland.... bought a card for public transport and went to visit a volcano. After our descending we found that box but! where is the tower? I was really looking forward it.Thanks for the cache and greetings from the Czech Republic.
Happy new year 2024! Found the cach on my North Island trip during my 6 months volunteering in NZ. Tftc!
Day 12: Waitakere and the Western LineTodays journey took us to Titirangi and Arataki in the morning to look at some Kauri trees and to explore the region. After that, it was a quick sojourn to Bethells Beach / Te Henga and then I took the train from Swanson to Kingsland to pick up some long overdue puzzles and multis that I have been meaning to get. Finally, it was on to the city for dinner - a truly busy day today, and thanks for all the caches and puzzles that I found! (End of the cut and paste bit)Heres the specific log for this cache:Another cache I have been meaning to get for a while but never got around to finding. I really like the shot tower in Melbourne which is preserved in a shopping centre, but its a shame this one has gone for good. The area around the GZ was hopping with the patrons having a jolly time at their local establishment. There was a man lounging around nearby when I did this one, but after eliminating one possible spot, it was the only other one that held the cache. TFTC!
Interesting reading about the shot tower. Took a little bit to find but got there in the end. TFTC.
Our first day in NZ with a great walk to Mount Eden.T4TC!Greetings from Germany.M3_DD_D3 aka Maiksmaennelmaker
Nice hide in plain sight. The tower was demolished after the Auckland floods in 2023 but the information sign is still there.
Well placed cache great interesting spot not too hard to find with the well provided coordinates But nicely hidden from muggles tooTFTC
Find #580My first cache here in Auckland wandering round the city trying to beat the jetlag. Took a little while to locate this one but got here in the end. Signed as LBB to save space. Cache is in good condition
Took a little while to find. I don't think the tower is there anymore unfortunately. TFTC
Nice and quick find with help from someone photo. Wouldn't have used it but it was starting to pour down
Found with @Rickimitsu

I did not see the tower (very strange, how can I miss a whole tower), but at least I quickly found the cache (yepp, nice spoiler photo in previous log helped).
Thanks for the interesting infom Tftc.

Finally found this one after multiple times forgot my pen so will come back next week and sign
Almost gave up, took a little longer than expected, but it was right in front of us (or below us…)
I was in the area checking up upon my virtual on Mnt Eden. As petrol is never cheap, I decided to pick up a few caches in town before heading home, there is this 100 caches I have to get for April, a challenge put out by HQ, bit silly really but there you go, naturally a souvenir is part of the deal and so numbers are important this month.
Parked within 10m of GZ in my van, this road is unrecognisable to me, so many road works have gone on here, and it's been a few years since being down this street, but also being Easter Sunday, no workers can be seen, but still busy with cars in general.
I tried a few spots I thought would be cool for hiding a cache, none of them proved successful until I tried the last spot that was remotely possible and there you have it, rather I had it. The magnetic key holder is holding up well, unfortunately the same can't be said for the paper, so seeing as my van was 'right there' I replaced the paper after signing in off course.
Bad news though, the building for which we want to see has gone, my photo is joined together with the photo last taken by the C.O, so a before and after photo if you like, thanks for bringing me here ishoot as such, actually my van brought me here, but that's neither here or there.

Grabbed this cache easily while having a stroll after having a wonderful lunch at a nearby restaurant.
Ah, so this is the tower that had been in the press a few weeks ago! Took a couple of minutes longer than it should have but all good
yesterday Australia, today New Zealand ...
... and then such a nice greeting. TFTC

I was reading through some geocaches to see which ones I want to do. This one made me think of my grandmother who grew up near the Shot Tower in Baltimore, Maryland USA.

A quick find with SJT_NZ as we are staying nearby, replaced log as other log a little tired. Thanks ishoot, SJT_NZ spend a few enjoyable evening here as it was a favourite eatery of mine when living in Auckland, and handy to a favourite shop and of course the interesting history of the tower and associated company.
An evening wander and quick find with Tregearp as we are staying nearby, thanks ishoot for the hide. Tregearp and I had spent a few evenings here in the past.
I'm glad I didn't give up!! Only started geocaching today so am not super clued in on how things can be camouflaged! Gave it one last check and found. Needs new paper, all of it is full and waterlogged!!
Was next door for dinner so why the hell not! Wasn't a super quick find but found it, I did.
Tftc. Road closure made this a circuitous route from nearby cache. And I was thankful that I recognised the camo. A resident muggles drove past and gave me a strange look so I signed and hightailed it out of there. Needs more paper this one has been well worn.
Found it. Good description (nice to know what you’re looking for). Needs a paper top up
I've walked past this area weekly for a long time now and never knew I was walking past a cache this whole time. Easy find for me. TFTC
