Thanks everyone for stopping by. The new playground did get this one, so will need to re-think it. Won't be back in Whanga for the next month due to other commitments so will let this go and maybe place a new one somewhere close by soon!
I noticed that this cache has been in need of owner attention for a period of time well in excess of the period of "a few weeks" as contemplated by the cache guidelines published on Geocaching.com. While I feel that Geocaching.com should hold the location for you and block other caches from entering the area around this cache for a reasonable amount of time, we can't do so forever. Please either repair/replace this cache, or archive it (using the archive listing link in the upper right) so that someone else can place a cache in the area, and geocachers can once again enjoy visiting this location.
If you plan on repairing this cache, please log a note to the cache (not email) within the next 30 days so I don't archive the listing for non-communication.

Not here. New playground means it was either destroyed during construction or kids got to it.
Looks like a tree was removed not too long ago. Couldn't find it. There a couple of spaces where it may have been. Is it still there?
That was so fun I looked around for ages and then I was thought really hard and found it great fun but I forgot to sign the book oh well was awesome
We returned today as we have had so much fun doing this and placed a new cache to carry on the fun hidden at original position at gl :0)
No luck for us today. Although didn't realise till we got there the swap of DNF's. Never mind, try again another day.
Searched for a fair while, before reading on here that it was possibly muggled.
Couldn't find it. With six DNFs in a row, it has probably been muggled. Can the CO please check in on it. Many thanks.
Had a good hunt for this one, but no luck. Checked recent logs and see I am not the only one to have no luck - maybe its been muggled??
Thought we gave this a good go but still couldn't locate the cache. Maybe another time??
This location is pretty significant for me. My Grandparents used to live pretty close to this spot and my Grandfather actually had a heart attack and died about 30-40m from where the cache is located, he had been out fishing with a friend. That may sound a little sad (and I guess it is) but once you see the spot few will disagree he picked a nice spot to leave this world. I dropped off a Geocoin I have been sitting on for a while, and I see in the logs it has already been collected and is on its way to Perth. Thanks for the cache and the memory's.
Despite the wind, the surf is a lot calmer than a few days ago. T4TC - M@, William & Riahna
Found (after reading the clue) on a cool and very windy morning. Nice spot with good views.

Visiting area when on holiday from Scotland. Great beach for walk first thing in morning and some great cache sites. Thanks for this one. Nice quick find and we are on a roll.
Quiet spot today with lovely beach so close - sat and pondered and soon had cache in hand TFTC
Found in quickly fading light after a lovely evening walk with the King Fambly to get the kids sleepy. Leigh, Elodie, Ethan and Sam. TFTC!
was pleased this was out of sight of a nearby building site on a sunny/wetish Monday. Took a minute or two to find but got there. TFTC

Found while staying at Whangamata before the event the following day at Waihi Beach,, quick find, tide was out, no trouble, no muggles anywhere along the beach TFTC
28/5/12 No luck for us today. Didn't hang about too long as it started to drizzle.
A quick find early morning before launching the kayak here for a paddle out to the islands.
MAny thanks

Easy find, took trackable and put in a few little things, lovely location.
First visit to Whangamata, what a lovely place, here for a few days and hope to find a few of the Caches. Came down to the beach at low tide early in the morning with hopes of getting out to the cache on the island but it wasn't low enough so decided to walk around the lovely estuary instead. nice spot to start at. TFTC
Great find by the kids. Traceable dropped. Good luck to " lucky the sheep II". Thx
For some reason, this took me longer to find than it should have. TNLNSL TFTC. Nice spot!
Rather rainy day by the beach. Came out for a walk in the drizzle with Master 5 while OH and Master 2 had a sleep back at the bach. Nice easy find. Hint helped.
TFTC; number 141 for us

Co-ords well off for me too, and the hint was too long for my GPS. Had to go back to the car and check the computer. Thanks to those other cachers who provided a more accurate fix.
Coordinates changed from:
S 37° 13.296 E 175° 52.931
Coordinates changed to:
S 37° 13.300 E 175° 52.935
Distance from original: 31.2 feet or 9.5 meters.
Finders seem to be finding other coordinates more useful than my ones (probably taken with a more accurate GPSr), so re-jigging them to reflect that. Cheers! Cache is still in the same place, thanks for visiting

Found it on our third visit, because of the stormy weather there were no muggles about so we were able to search more thoroughly to find the cache. The cache was empty apart from the logbook so we put in a NZ Lanyard. TFTC
