Checked on this one today, all is good. The container is fine just slightly damp and has now been dried out.You will need to bring your own scribble stick to be able to sign the log.Have left a Travel Bug, 'The Camper Crusade', to continue its journey.
Its always a pleasure when you find a cache in the vicinity of your campground. Coordinates were easily achieved, and the walk was a pleasant stroll in the early evening. No damage to the container other than a little moisture inside. All is good - logbook is still able to be signed. Many thanks Fredd01 for providing this game piece for our enjoyment. And thanks for sharing the highlights of your region .
Will be in East Gippsland next week. I'll check on this one and see how it's holding up.
Found 4:30 pmNice walk from camp site to GZ on what is so far a perfect weather long weekend. The back was sore on starting this one (L4/5 playing up again) but after 700m the disc was back in place and so I was cruising once more. I think howbI sit is causing this issue. Nice locationTFTC Fredd01
Date: 29 September 2023 Time: 4:33 pmFind #14215Camping nearby with SedgwickDave before parkrun and a couple of caching events at Lakes entrance tomorrow, once setup, we decided on a bit of a walk before heading to town for dinner.Massive thanks go to Fredd01 for placing this one.
Last day in Lakes today and decided to get a couple of caches a bit further out to finish. Got to the picnic area to find someone camping in the rain but got the clues and set off in light rain and wind along the tramway with nobody about. Short walk and a fairly quick find. The cache is slightly wet but log book ok. Sign and return off home today but thanks for all the caches.
Set up camp then started on the coordinates. Off for a pleasant walk and the cache was soon in hand.

Great little Multi learned a lot of history about the area great picnic spot left geocoin
Set up camp at log Crossing picnic area before working out the coordinates and strolling down the picturesque track on a nice afternoon avoiding mozzies no problem finding the cache
Fairly easy with no people on the track even though quite a few were camped at the ground. Cache was uncovered but still in its hiding spot.
All this effort to transport a bit of rock. Isn't muggledom insane.

Found this cache after a very beautiful (but long) walk. The walk to the cache is exactly as advertised along a graded track but I am covid unfit. This is my first more substantial walk since lockdown finished so it took me much longer and multiple rests along the way. I really must learn to take the insect repellent with me! Insects love me and especially when I am wearing a red t-shirt.
This was a very pleasant walk along a very lovely bush track. It is so nice to be out and about after the lockdown. The coordinates are good and the cache was found easily. I was highly relieved that there was a pencil in the cache itself as despite leaving the car with both a pen and pencil, I had neither on arriving at the cache itself. Signed the log and replaced it back without issue. Luckily the pen and pencil were found on the return trip at one of my rest stops - so no geolitter was left here.
I am trying to complete multis this month for the Multi Month Challenge.
Thanks for placing and maintaining the cache greynomads and Freddo1.

I was working and staying nearby and decided to go for a bike ride for some exercise. Thought this cache would be safe to look for as it hasn't been found for some time.
After getting the final coords I rode to GZ and soon had the cache in hand.
First cache for some weeks now as I have been staying at home, apart from working.

We called in here last week and grabbed the required info to find GZ, so today we turned off here on the way back to Paynesville.
After checking where to start on my phone, we were soon on our way. A pleasant walk both ways here and although we could hear Lyrebirds in the bush, none were seen.
A quick find of the cache was made at GZ and we returned to our car without incident.
Thanks Fredd01 for the cache placement here.

We had decided to spend the night in the Log Crossing Campsite ️ at the starting waypoint for this Multi- cache, and so as soon as we had chosen our spot we headed to the notice board to find the information required. With the numbers soon gathered we updated our GPS with the corrected co-ordinates and then walked on towards Ground Zero where the cache was quickly located. We signed the log book and then replaced as found. Thanks so much for the cache and for having taken us on a very enjoyable earlier evening walk. Greetings from Zimbabwe
YAY - found the cache this afternoon before the rain started. I was actually amazed at how dry the forest currently is throughout Colquhoun. Mississippi Creek was bone dry . My fingers are crossed for the bush having a nice drink tonight (as I write this log, it's raining in Lakes ). OOOHHH and the many campers out at the Log Cross picnic ground will probably have wet camping gear. I was amazed at how many camps had been set up ! It was an interesting juggle trying not to look to obvious as I was reading the information board at the picnic area. Anyway, I gathered the information I needed and made the calculations required. The GPS was set and off along the Tramway Walk I wandered. YAY - I was the only one out exploring - this made for a very pleasant adventure. Especially considering how many people were camping just nearby. After a short wander, the GPS indicated that I was very close to GZ. I spied quite an obvious hidey hole and, sure enough, there it was - the cache container nestled in its spot. I signed the log and wandered back along the track enjoying the peacefulness of the area. Thanks Greynomads for taking the time to set up this cache. I thoroughly enjoyed my wander through Colquhoun this afternoon. AND - there were even more campers set up when I got back to Log Crossing to the car. It was like Burke Street at peak hour
PS: The Troll Dolls (TN6TR0) joined me on my caching adventure this afternoon.

I sought out some geocaches while on a six-day trip with others from Pedal Power in Canberra to East Gippsland to ride the East Gippsland Railtrail. I found 32 caches plus I collected two travel bugs to share the journey. The weather was fine and mild, the scenery delightful and the company pleasant, making for a great trip.
This cache was a straightforward find. I soon found the sign with the required information, made the calculations and mounted my blue steed to ride to the GZ where the cache was lying in the open, apparently disturbed by an animal making its home. I put the cache back where I thought it belonged. Thank you greynomads for installing and maintaining this cache.

It's my 2nd cache-versary today and being down from Brisbane to visit my parents, I took Dad for a caching adventure along the Mississippi Creek Tramway Walk
This was our first cache for the day and where Mum dropped us off. She and Miss12 were off mini golfing, lunching and shopping in Lakes and were going to pick us up at the Culquhoun Quarry in a couple of hours. It didn't take us long to find the numbers we needed and after a pleasant walk we soon had the cache in hand. All is good at GZ and thanks for placing the cache in a lovely spot

Headed out here for the nearby Earthcache for International Earthcache Day, and didn't intend to do this multi, but decided to stop when we saw some walking muggles here. It seems this cache has not been found for about 11 months, but it was exactly where it should be. Container in good condition. Log slightly damp but fine to write on. Now that I know dogs are allowed here (on leashes) I will be coming back with the geodog and geokid. Such a beautiful forest! TFTC
Day three of a challenge trip to East Gippsland with BettyBoo3747.
Rode the Mississippi Creek Tramway on the deadly treadlies, out to the Quarry and back.
Seemed to have left a few empty caches behind I think, will find out for sure soon enough.
Parked at the picnic grounds and walked over to the sign and collected our information. Unloaded the bikes, and we were on our way!
I know it says uphill to the quarry, but it was fairly flat both directions, and a lovely day for a ride.
Thanks for showing us this track.
Thanks, Robmc.

# 9781. Day 2 for Robmc and me at Lakes Entrance. This time we headed out to the GLDT for a short ride to the Quarry and back alongside the Mississippi Creek (rather stagnant at the moment)! Wildlife spotting statistics for the day was 1 male lyrebird, 1 leech, a zillion mosquitos and later in the day 1 wallaby, 1 sea eagle and 3 echidnas.
We drove out here to the picnic area and gathered our information to give us some new coordinates. Hopped on the bikes and started to enjoy our ride along this lovely track. A great gradient for bike riders, nice and easy.
The cache had been well hidden but it took a lady look to find it today. Now we continue northwards.
Thanks greynomads

Scouter 101 and I set off for a couple of early morning caches with this and the quarry earthcache being our main targets.
After performing the required calculations we set off in seeming the wrong direction and made our way to GZ reading the information boards along the way.
Once at GZ things weren't looking too promising; a good poke around our indicated GZ failed to make anything resembling a cache appear. Somewhat frustrated I dug deeper to reveal the very well hidden cache at last, this is one the muggles are never going to stumble across.
We very much enjoyed our walk and the campers at the start of the walk had risen by the time we returned from our walk.
Another one of those place I be oblivious too without caching.

We used to picnic here in the 1970s and 80s with our three sons. When caravanning on the North Arm we would look for places to visit when the weather was unsuitable for boating, fishing or walking. This was a favourite location on such days. It is considerably different today but still very pleasant except for evidence from those who visit and obviously do not love the place as we do. We had a picnic lunch here again today - returned after visiting the nearby EarthCache. T:nil L:a trademark ladybug (eraser) Thanks greynomads for this excellent cache - the type we really appreciate.
Loved this walk today. Luckily the wind died down for awhile allowing SQAU to head out into the bush xx
A nice walk in the bush. Found with megs_q

Any cache that includes a nice walk in the bush will usually get a favourite from me. This one was no exception and fairly remote with good directions made this a good find. Thanks nomads. Appreciated

What a beautiful morning for a walk this was. The sun was shining, the birds were singing and a little morning moisture was still dripping from the trees. Nothing else to spoil the day, until...we heard a shout from behind and a cyclist came racing up and passed us at great speed. Gave us both a fright! Found with taurus1955. Thanks for the cache and the history of the Mississippi Creek Tramway.
Even after wandering around the car park, then realising that I wasn't even close to the location, I still didn't find this cache.
I spent 2 hours in the area - totally enjoyed the exploration of the history in this location, but wasn't able to locate the cache.
I am a very new geo-cacher and am still trying to learn how to use my GPS.

On a lovely late sunny afternoon we arrived at WP1. A number of people were setting up camp for the evening as it was a busy boxing day holiday. We grabbed the geodog and headed off for the short stroll to pick up this cache. We enjoyed the local historical information along the way. [^] [^] TFTC greynomads
New cache container placed a short walk from original GZ. Hopefully, no leeches here. A new log book, assortment of swaps and a Pathtag added to cache.

Checked today and couldn't find it. It's either had a bad case of 'cache creep' or maybe has washed away. Will replace in the next few days.
Still newbies..... great walk ..... unfortunatley didn't find the cache ..... Managed to pick up some leeches tho!!!!
7th find of the day, and 3301st total find at 14:12
A nice stroll to finish the cache run. The clues were easily gathered and off we set.
At GZ the mozzies were out for blood, and each of us picked up at least three leeches whilst searching underneath. The one that got Ian crawled right up his shorts and attached itself to his right cheek.
After replacing the continer and setting off back to the car, Ian discovered yet another leech just starting to get settled after it had jumped from the collar of his shirt.
Wow what an itchy adventure
Took: Nothing
Left: Screwdriver
Thanks greynomads for the cache

A great intro to the Discovery Trail, and a pleasant walk on a boiling hot day. Lots of birds egging me on to GZ. Can just imagine the little trams in action coing around the bends. Nearby campsite is small but worth considering for budget camping. Thanks greynomads for another interesting historical area in Gippsland.
Found with Geo gemzy and Geo Holzy and the inlaws nice walk along track and a nice bit of history. Thanks Greynomads for the cache.
What a beautiful forest environment here. Some campers and bikers around, but they are all behaving themselves. Nice walk and find.
Had a lovely walk on a sunny Sunday and found it easily. Took a ladybird and left a carabiner.

Found today, #167 for us and the first on our caching circle tour today.
Back in Lakes again for another Surf Lifesaving state titles and needing a bit of a break after traipsing up and down the beach for two days, we decided to have a quiet day today before putting the boat into the water. Caching was the go, so off we went.
A bit of a technical glitch had us heading up the wrong road for a while, but we were soon back on track. We pulled up at the designated camping area and juc_jr#2 and I made the short walk to the other parking area (!), where the clues were quickly gathered. We were soon on our way to the cache, enjoying the fresh smell of the bush after the heavy rain last night.
Arriving at GZ, we had a short search and after rendering a few spiders homeless, the cache was in hand. We signed the log and grabbed the 4WD TB.
Thanks for the cache greynomads and this part of Gippsland certainly has some interesting history, which makes for some great caches like this one. The trails that the old tramways and railways make are a real asset to the area too.

I had managed to find my way across the entire breadth of the Colquhoun Regional Park from the north to reach this cache
A bit of guesswork and intuition takes a cacher a long way
Arriving at GZ I was amazed at the quality of this bushland picnic area.
So neat, so tidy and so free of vandalism [:o]
There's hope yet !!
The stroll along the tramway trail was very relaxing on a sunny morning.
I took me time and saw a bit of bird life along the way
Tick the Rufous Fantail off my list
The info boards along the way provided more distraction and I did note a lot of large lumps of granite sitting at the side of the trail
At GZ the cache was a tricky little find.
After searching all four corners and bits in between, I cursed when I finally spotted the obvious when clambering back onto the trail covered in spiderwebs
