Down here for the Dunedin Geo Toroa Event from the sunny Bay of Plenty,Tauranga and are with some of Team BoP. Great to get together with our fellow cachers. Signed Logs MDF. (McJandals,Davidson clan & NZ Flossy)I am logging using the Cachly App and using their template option which helps with my memory for logging. I genuinely thank every CO for their time and effort put into these caches. Much appreciated.
Down in Dunedin for the Mega this weekend with McJandals and NZFLOSSY. Signed the log sheet MDF Thanks for the cache.
Down in Dunedin for the Mega event. Travelling with Davidsonclan and McJandals. Really fun to be out and about with the team and catching up with other cachers friends from everywhere. Thanks to all the organisers and all the COs for some great caches. It is certainly a lovely area of New Zealand TFTC
With Gap (of Fap and Gap) Were here for Geo Toroa (Dunedin Mega). Between flight cancellations and re-routing, things could only get better, right? But wait, theres more! Somewhere on our caching escapades, I dropped my wallet (Tuesday) Its still at large, so if anyone finds itOne of us usually drives, the other is the retriever. That works for us. Weve either logged caches with our separate handles, or weve used FANGS to sign the logbook. Using the latter handle is more for mental health and well being. Its tiring having to write 15 + characters on each logbook Weve joined MDF - Our BoP Teammates. Our goal is to put a few more smilies onto our geomap to the north of Dunedin. This was one of the caches we visited and found successfully. Thanks erninz. TFTC.
Thank you for the cache Not sure who loves finding them more, the kids or the adults

On holiday in the area and must be nuts coming out in rain. Dressed in overtrousers and jackets off we went. Had some dry spells. Cache found all good thanks ernienz.
I'd been here a long time ago, early in my caching life, and hadn't managed to find it then. How on earth I managed to overlook it, I do not know! I can see why speed monitors might set up here. TFTC.
Quickly found here. Cache all good.
First find on my roadtrip to Wellington.
Thanks for the cache, erninz

Found with StreetWalkerNZ en route from Christchurch to Dunedin.
Decided to do a wee detour to Waikouaiti, so took the alternative road via this cache. SW hopped out of the car at GZ then I travelled on a wee bit further to a safer parking spot. Good overview indeed, and another older cache found. TFTC.

#20602. Quick find once I searched on the correct side of the road. Certainly is a good vantage point. TFTC.
Thanks for the cache, heading out a visit to my Dad but wanted to grab some older caches on my to Dunback. Quick find here after a quick detour off the main road.
Looked at the last log and thought I was in for a real search.... But found straight away... cheers for the smiley
Another day doing the caching rounds. Decided to stick a bit closer to where we are staying today and try to clean this area up.
Another nice quick find. tftc

Day 12 of my 2020 NZE (New Zealand Experience).
(My apologies for the delayed logging but I'm in catch-up mode)
Seeing as I can't be in America right now, I'm touring around the South Island instead. During my time here I am aiming to find as many of the TMGT caches as I can (preferably all 41) and also as many Virtuals, Earthcaches and Letterbox Hybrids as possible, plus any Trads or others that will fill a hole in my D/T grid, my Jasmer grid, or else the last 3 remaining Hidden Dates on that grid.
Today's plan was to drive from Timaru down to Dunedin, following the coast but with plenty of side trips to get caches targeted as per above. I have been so lucky to have dry conditions my whole trip so far, with the sun really putting in an effort to convince me it wasn't winter! I didn't mind the chilly starts knowing that the rest of the day was going to be great caching conditions.
Parking up on the side of the road, I was able to walk over to GZ to conduct my search. There was no-one taking any notice of me here so I had no real problems finding the cache, and there were no issues with either it or the log so once signed everything was replaced back exactly as found and I was on my way again.
Thanks for placing this Cache.

GPS led me to the other side of the road but after a quick minute I knew it was going to be the other end.
Cache in good condition.
======== NZ Mega 2020 ========
NZ Mega 2020 is definitely happening, but has been postponed until 2021. It will be held in Auckland over Labour Weekend, 22 to 25 October 2021. It's going to be a massive celebration of geocaching:
20+ years of geocaching worldwide.
20+ years since New Zealand had the very first geocache hidden outside of USA.
All the 20s and now 21 as well!
Talk to your geo-friends and start planning to be part of this event - you won't want to miss it!

A planned geocaching trip with specific targets in mind.
1: The final 2 caches to fill my D/T grid
2: The last 5 caches available (all in the South Island) to meet the NZ Jasmer challenge GC4R9Z6
3: Get as many caches as possible in a day (Solo)
I had no timetable and only a vague route (Christchurch - Dunedin- Invercargill). So after 20 days of sleeping in my tent/car I arrived home having traveled 4500km and visited some interesting places. Met some great people. I had found over 650 caches. That was a lot of park. Jump out out. Find cache sign and return. Then on to the next. All this done by myself. Also attended an event and had 2 FTF
Mission 1 and 2 were achieved and I had a best day of 153 caches. All this done by myself.
Day 13 Dunedin to Herbert Forest 25 caches. All targets have been met. All quiet on the road today so able take my time. Thank you for the placement

Yipee! Record time, 10 in a day and number 200. Interesting to read about the road and how Mr Plod uses it. Tftc
Quick find as the day starts to cool. Bit subduing to see a cross on the hill. Thanks for the cache. #3031
Quick stop while heading up the road to see family nearby. Lovely views nearby.
A quick find. I remember before the new road was there, am i showing my age now?
Heading south for a wee family holiday. Family caught a cheap early flight down to Dunedin this morning...and will spend the day exploring Dunedin attractions...whilst I drive down to meet them...and find a cache or two along the way!
Nice spot with views. Cheers.

Found with Granville86a on a lovely weekend for a caching trip to Palmerston. Thanks for your cache placement
Quickly spotted signed and on the road again. On a 11 day caching trip around the south island. Log signed as b+p. Find # 3709. Thanks for the cache ernienz
This road is certainly a lot quieter than it use to be. Great for those who live along it.
Nice quick P&G on the way to Christchurch. Nice view and I remember when this used to be the main highway. TFTC
Unable to find today despite a good search of the hint object/ likely places - ran out of time.
Great spot and a great day for some caching up the coast. It nice to get out in the sun today for a change and hoping it stays this nice for the day. TFTC
The last time we visited New Zealand in 1998, we missed the Milford Sound because of lack of time.
Now, as W is working in Sydney and C is visiting him, it was very close by.
So we decided to turn her visit into a small New Zealand vacation.
And off course this can't be done without a few geocaches.
A few turned into about 150 of them.
We started in Queenstown, but this time no bungy jumping anymore.
At the airport we switched the gsm-card to a NZ one, with internet access.
That way we would be able to check for recent logs and spoiler photos.
After we got our rental car we started the gps.
We're not used to driving on the left side of the road, but that was no problem with all the road signs.
During our last visit it was summer, now it was autumn.
The weather looked more like home, but we had our umbrella and raincoat with us, which we used a lot.
At the Milford Sound the rain was an advantage, as the rainfalls were huge.
On our way to the boulders we took the scenic road and there was time to look for some caches.
This was one of them.
Thanks for the cache.

#2173. I have just flown south today to attend a conference in Oamaru and so have a few hours before nightfall to pick up some caches en route. These are my southernmost caches so far. Will be back this weekend to pick up more around Dunedin. Saw on the GPS as I drove north that this one was close to the main highway but with somewhere to pull off the main road. Pulled up and the cache was a quick find in a place beloved of geocachers. All good here. Signed and replaced as found. Nice sunset and a rainbow to boot. Thanks for the cache.
The drizzle got harder so I decided to head back to the caravan and a change to drier clothes but this was on the way so just had to stop.
Cheers for the cache.
Cheers for the cache.
When this was still SH1 there was a long row of eucalyptus trees a bit closer to the top of the hill which demanded that the windows be rolled down to enjoy the smell on summer trips to Dunedin

I have overshot this one twice now so when there was no traffic in either direction I decided to make sure it didn't happen again. TFTC #7221
Found on our 25 day New Zealand South Island holiday.
Apologies for the late log but with little or no internet as we travelled and only super slow WiFi in van parks I decided to log all finds on my return home.
Snowed in in Dunedin and then the road cleared, heading North...

I had a TB that wanted to make it to Timaru so I dropped it off here for someone else to continue its journey. Nice easy find as there is a whole series of these hides where I live like 30 of them
A quick stop here on our way back to Oamaru - no prying farmers to be seen! TFTC
On the way back from Dunedin again a short stop for a cache.
Fast and easy found.
