The Adelaide Leap Day Mega and Canberra Geobash gave us a great excuse for a road trip. This trip has shown us so many new and interesting places as weve chased LGAs, oldies, challenges, interesting D/T combinations, rarer cache types and favourites.Meeting up with friends old and new along the way, we sometimes cached together and sometimes alone but always had a great time.Today we joined the mega Brindabella 4wd tour and explored this fabulous part of the country. A most enjoyable way to spend the day. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for us and adding to our enjoyment.
Whilst out exploring The Blue Rigde Rd, thought best to get this cache named after the Rd. Found with lorigus74 while in town for the GeoBash. TFTC growingupisoptional
Visiting Canberra for the Mighty Mega. A wonderful event! Many thanks growingupisoptional for providing this game piece for our enjoyment.
Found on the Geobash 4WD tour, out for a geocaching tour with a convoy of 7 carssigned as convoy 1
Tagging along on the organised Brindabella Tour as part of the Capital Geobash Mega. Thanks to our team leaders who lead us to some wonderful places throughout the day. We had a mixture of finds and everyone had a go at finding one. The forestry tracks were dusty but that didnt seem to put a damper on the fun we all had. Thanks to all for organising. Log book signed as convoy 2.
Out on an incredible adventure with the Aussie cachers from around the region. I had an amazing time driving around, caching, and hitting all the bumps on the road. We ended up seeing a helicopter up close and personal, while it grabbed some water to put out the nearby fire... and to think our legs after a T5 cache was the only thing on fire. Thank you for hiding and maintaining this cache - it contributed to an incredible day out there in the park!
Here with a bunch of cachers as part of the Mega. Its a beautiful day to be out 4x4 caching! Fun to meet new cachers and see some pretty countryside. Really excited to be exploring a new part of Australia for me. Signed under the group name of Convoy 1. Thanks for the cache!
TFTC found whilst on the mega 4wd tour with Crack n Lee Lee & Tiz13. Signed as Convoy 1. Reasonably quick find ????
Caching our way around Canberra taking in the sights with 2beez and attending Mega. I'm out on the Brindabella 4WD Tour, another great tour on during the [Capital GeoBash](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC9PNFB_capital-geobash). This was another of the great caches we found in between great views and exciting driving. Thanks for arranging this excursion.Signed as Convoy #2Thanks for find #5947TNLN
Perhaps we weren't meant to go on this planned 4wd tour. Our previous attempt to join the testing of this tour was thwarted, today half the team was taken out with migraine, and a rock to sidewall shredded a tyre on Brindabella road. So you could say this was quite the adventure for FFLL No 1 and "Evie", the new geomobile. It was a great day out collecting the caches in the list, and the views were worth the trek. The added bonus of the helicopter was unexpected. Thanks ALL7 and mtrax for the company, and the organisers for keeping us all safe.
Out and about in Canberra with the view to collect Multies, challenges and suburban cachesIn the Brindabellas for our 4WD adventureCaching with and signing as the group 'Crew2' and having a great day.TFTCache growingupisoptional
FFLL text me early morning and asked me come with her for 4WD becasue FFLLx2 not well so I come with her for fun drive 4WD..i would like say THANK YOU Lynette.... She is very good drive ... Not me... LOLFound on the Geobash 4WD tour with Convoy#1.. thank you ...
We came to Canberra for the Geobash Event and couldn't resist booking some of the great tours on offer. Today, one of the team took the "suss vulture's wings" on the 4WD tour in convoy 2. We were treated to lots of dust, some rough tracks and great views. Of course we had to find some caches along the way, which were signed as convoy 2.Thanks to growingupisoptional for providing and maintaining this caches.

Teamed up with Crack'n'LeeLee and 2beez for todays 4WD tour organised as part of the Canberra Mega. We had an awesome day out grabbing a few caches as we went (Tiz13 hold on tight in the back)..we were part of Convoy 1 ...Car 7 . Charlie was our call sign and we had the task of bringing up the rear...so I dubbed us to be Charlie's angles while Bosley the driver aka Crack mysteriously developed a NZ accent...Bro .....
Today is Brindabella 4WD Day.All OK here.Log signed and cache replaced as found on March 29, 2024. TFTC, growingupisoptional
We were in Brindabella organised 4x4 tour as part of the fun and adventure for the Capital Geobash Mega.We had a fantastic day with no issues with group 2We had to park tight to make sure there was plenty of room for others using the trackWe headed off to GZ and once more the container was located before we got right to GZ. Not surprising with this many eyes looking though. The log book was signed as convoy 2 to save room we then headed back to enjoy the fantastic scenery on offer here. Many thanks for placing the cache here and for out tour leaders for the fun day.
Well its finally time for the Canberra Geobash Mega. After a big day yesterday of travelling and of course caching ( i didnt now it took over 12hrs to get to Canberra from Melbourne ) it is now my first full day here.I teamed up with Roaming Howie, OzHockeyChick and Kristysadventures and we became team Pork for the day.We all piled into the GeoRanger for a fun day out and the 2 big kids had the back seat and we were off on the 4WD trip around the hills.Continuing along Blue Range Road we had to find this one because of the name.Great scenery and fun tracks to travel and this one was soon spotted. Thanks growingupisoptional TFTC.
Canberra Geobash Road Trip 2024. Day Four: 4x4 Tour with RoamingHowie, posums & Kristysadventures. Logs signed as "PORK" or "Convoy 2".Wandrewlust headed over the edge, but a little too far. RH found the cache soon after - not quite so far down. Thanks for bringing us here by placing this cache, growingupisoptional ??~????????~
Team PORK @posums, [@OzHockeyChick](https://coord.info/PRCXQAE), [@RoamingHowie](https://coord.info/PR5FGT7) and I had been well looked after on this sunny Good Friday on the CONVOY 2 four wheel geo driving tour as part of the Canberra mega. Stunning views, a sneaky swim, some great caches and even a fire fighting helicopter! It was now time to teach our American lackey visitor [wandrewlust](https://www.geocaching.com/p/default.aspx?guid=ecdb31e2-007d-4dc4-96f1-496640af06c3&tab=profile#profilepanel) how to play this geocaching game ;PRoamingHowie was a gentlemen and let wandrewlust have a head start, but the Australian bush overcame our friendly lackey and RoamingHowie stepped in to show him how to find and sign a geocache. Good spirits and laugh abound as we bundled back into our cars and made our way down the mountain ridge towards the evening's event.thanks to the Canberra Mega team and the COs for a fantastic day out and sharing some beautiful locations.
Enjoying a great time on our Mega 4WD tour, and we signed all logs as a team, Convoy 1.It was a beautiful scenic day out with like-minded friends and acquaintances and a big thanks to Greg for sharing your vehicle with patrol14 and myself.Thank you, growingupisoptional, for this good hide ??
A bit of fun was had here between the two Andrews and yes, it was one of them that made the find. Thanks for placing the cache for us to find.
Day #4 Geobashing It was 4WD tour day. Somehow I ended up with a band of misfits in the car which included OzHockeyChick, posums and Kristysadventures. Whether they all return back to Mega HQ is another story! All caches were signed as PORK or Convoy #2.Wandrewlust and I headed down to locate this one just over the edge.A big thanks goes to growingupisoptional for taking the time to add Blue Range Road to the geocaching map for us all to find and enjoy.----------------------------------------------------------Looking for caches to find when visiting Victoria? Why not check out the geocaching lists available on the [Geocaching Victoria Website](https://geocachingvictoria.com.au/information/great-caching-lists/). Find#5555Nice hiding place What a awesome day to be out in the Brindabellas Thanks for the cache
Out for a day of 4wdriving with some great peeps checking out the trail for the Geobash 4wd adventure. Such beautiful country to be exploring, and always great to get the Triton out on the trails. Heres to an enjoyable day out with onieferret, Minniek, GLISS! Isopeda, loci612, Darksidedan, Iamcoust, Flinstones, Domsky, Ozkeg, Toy Hunters, pantspeople, farmers5, Mrs Ozkeg, Jusosara, Tealby (and Im sure Ive forgotten someone). Signed today as 4WDTour. Thanks to everyone who made this day possible. Thanks for the cache.
A tricky spot for 4 x 4WDs to stop given this cache was on the curve but we managed ok in the end. A quick retrieve by Toy Hunters who endeavoured to dry out the cache a bit. TFTC.
Out with the Geobash 4WD trial tour. The forrest looks a bit different here than further up. You can tell it's a bit more sheltered here and the trees are much taller. Instead of clogging up the logbook with Loci612, Darksidedan, IamCoust, Flintstones, Domsky, OzKeg, isopeda, MinnieK, Nibletricecake, Toy Hunter, Onieferret, PantsPeople, Farmers5, Mrs OzKeg, Jusosara and Tealby - signing as 4WDTour. Parked before the bend and wandered up to GZ. Had a look at the drainage system here, and made a quick find of the cache itself! Thanks GUP---Joined an almost 6 hour expedition today, starting / ending at Uriarra with a convoy of four 4 Wheel Drives & 17 geocachers! Huge thanks especially too Farmers 5, jusojara, nibletricecakes and OZ KEG for making today happen! Without your organisation & 4WD's it wouldn't have been possible! Signed as many logs as I could with Loci612, but was part of the "4WD Tour" which was also signed!
I was out this way with the 4WDT testing the trip for the geobash next year. I would not normally get the chance to do something like this and I am glad i put my hand up to go.The log was signed 4WDT instead of writing a huge number of names including Nibletricecakes, MinnieK, isopeda, Flintstones, Toy Hunter, and a number of other cachers. Thanks for the adventure
Found with and signed as 4WD Team (4WDT) convoy which was a trial run before the Capital Geobash, a big thanks to jusojara for leading such an awesome tour around the Brindabellas! Quick find at GZ. The cache had a tiny bit of water and the log was damp but it wasn't that bad to be honest. The log has been left out of the bag to dry until someone can come along and replace the log (and maybe the container). TNLNSL (lots of cool toy cars in here though). TFTC growingupisoptional!
Signed as pantspeople, with the 4WD Team. Log a little damp but still signable, so we did. I wasnt initially aware this hide was on the menu for todays jaunt, but always nice to collect another one. Cheers --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------In the spirit of reconciliation we would like to acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of country on which we geocache throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community. We (the pants people) pay our respects to their Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.
Found and signed dsd or darksidedan or AB or Adventure Boys or 4 Wheel Drive Tour to save space in the logbook. Thanks for the cache and the Adventure.
Made the late decision to go on the 4WD sample tour organised by jusojara and The Farmers 5 ahead of the upcoming Canberra Mega.So glad that I did because it was a great day out. Great day, great company, great tour! All caches that we aimed for were found and signed as 4WDT.
Towards the end of our adventure today, with a 4WD crew, we stopped for this one. We signed as our team name, on what was an amazing adventure today with so many spectacular views along the way. Thanks growingupisoptionalDomsky

Today, I teamed up with AngelG27 for a mini mission in the geounit meandering around in the forest off Blue Range Rd. A great day out with beautiful scenery!
Moving on with the drive through this beautiful area and after parking off the track nearby this was a quick find. The coloured bits and pieces in the recycled pipe are interesting!

Cache 6230 on 13 Jun 2020.
Time for a mission! After a week of staring at my computer. It was time to get out and find some caches. SpecimenX had the same idea so we meet at 0800 for a fun filled day or driving and cache hunting. 15 caches found all up - more than I was aiming for. We drove Brindabella and Blue Range roads mostly. It was great to get some dirt, although we were happy to hit bitumen at the end - some of the roads were quite bumpy. A fun day out with lots of laughs!
Eighth cache of the morning, glad there was a place to stop nearby. Cache found in the obvious spot!
Thanks growingupisoptional for the cache and the fun!

On our way to 'Peaceful Parapet' & 'Panoramic Parapet' we picked up 3 road caches as we passed by this morning. The dirt road is in excellent condition thanks to a recent upgrade in preparation for bushfires last summer. Plenty of cyclists , runners , hikers and rock climbers out and about today.
Quick and easy find with good views not far from GZ. Beautiful location. TFTC growingupisoptional.

A lovely morning of geocaching with the irrepressible IamCoust on a truly glorious spring day.
The main prize of the day lay ahead, but IaC very kindly made a couple of stops along the way for me to collect some roadside caches he had found on a previous visit. Easy finds all, with the benefit of some seriously excellent views. TFTC

This morning I focused my caching on the south western part of the area north of Brindabella Rd and south of the border. I explored the back roads through the forest picking off many of the caches on the way. A fun drive up Pabral Road, along Two Sticks road, then down Blue Range Rd to this cache. A quick find here. Pulled over and after waiting for the GPSr to settle it was a quick find. Miss Stormcatcher did the work and the log was soon signed for a smiley. First time for us this far along Blue Range Road and we look forward to coming back with hopefully a slightly more suited vehicle! TFTC GUIO
Found with JohnnyBoyACT and two muggles on a Canberra Bushwalking Club trip. We started walking from the Blue Range Road to the east. I had several maps of the area with me however each map had roads marked in different places and there were roads marked that no longer existed. After finding a suitable track we ambled (not drove) to the caches. I remember those unremittingly steep tracks from previous walks in the area. TFTC.

A fun day out with Noikmeister. The aim was to find a few caches that had not been visited for quite a while. I ended up with 16 years worth of Unloved Caches, saw some spectacular views and had a great day of laughs, tough bushbashing, Parapets, roadside caches and Weirs in weird spots.
The fifth cache of the day and another that had a lot of Unloved Days (1028). Noikmeister had found this several years ago, so it was my turn. I roamed around a bit looking for it. He jumped out and helped, not remembering where it had been located. Eventually we found in a likely spot. TFTC growingupisoptional

We hunted up the wrong side of the track for a few moments until the GPS/navigator combination got sorted out then we made a much simpler find at GZ.
1211. 4th of 11 today enjoying a trip with nature and the weather, sun, wind, rain and hail, around Blue Range Road. Had to wait for a shower of hail to clear before attacking this one. Found the hide and it was back down to the next. TFTC.
Somehow managed to miss this one on the way up but quickly rectified on the way back down on a beautiful autumn day. TFTC
An easy find in a nice location, found with McPhan and Zsazsa7 on a great summer day in the mountains. Thanks GUIO.
Thanks for the cache a pretty swift find. As mentioned, even when dry these things are bloody slippery, almost went AO.
Nice area to explore and of course nab a few caches.

Found on our way to Coree this afternoon and the muggles with me where amazed at the recycled cache camo. Pity we were up in the clouds (literally) and could not admire the view. Thanks GUIO.
I thought Norkmeister had stopped to take in the scenery (waterfall) bu tthere was a cache here too. Nice. Getting dark and we could see the lights of Canberra in the distance.
(8:42 PM) Yes some very interesting material in that drain pipe and an excellent waterfall flowing into it too. Lovely even in the dark. Cache found without difficulty.
Thanks GUIO.
Thanks GUIO.
Reperio at 0820. With dark clouds hovering overhead, this little patch of road quickly became quite dark with the added canopy of trees hanging over. Spotted a likely spot for the cache and was hoping it was there...which it was. Really enjoyed the drive up here, and was just hoping that it didn't rain in the next half hour.

I've been spending a bit of time exploring the local pine forest in the last couple of years and I have noticed a fair few of these type of constructions around on all the refurbed roads.
They must be cheap or something. But i do like the speckles. photo included.
