16 June 2024 08:08 TFTC edvern for placing this cache, number 14474 for me. Collected the information a while back, only just got around to signing this one off
#14,826. I decided to have a weekend away as it was my birthday in the past week and I wanted to have some fun geocaching up in the Manawatu. Stayed overnight nearby and headed here early on Sunday morning. I had a very pleasant virtual drive around the suburbs gathering the answers from the comfort of home. The wonders of modern technology. Today it was time to come to GZ and find the cache. It didn't take too long to locate the hint object and soon after the cache. Signed the log and replaced the cache as found. Thanks edvern for hiding it here.
Found Spoiler:I realised 'streetview' would get me all the answers so i worked it out at home lol
In Palmerston North having arrived this afternoon - having settled in we popped out to grab few caches required for a local challenge.Once parked we took a stroll and gathered the numbers from the various locations and plotted final GZ Found after a short search - Log signed and all replaced TFTCTim and Viv - ddm
This was my nearest unfound geocache to today's event. Despite the rain I came, did the walk to gather the numbers, got the checksum to add up and found the final. All a bit yet so dried the cache and log. TFTC
Checked this multi today after reading the last two logs. The playground equipment has been modernised, making the question here confusing. Have edited and updated this question. All should be quite cleaar now and this multi is now ready for more visitors!
Towards the end of a social event at Chateau Etherlord, The Seagnoid, Itchyfeet2020, and I decided to come out to work out this multi while there was still daylight. It didn't take us long to do the rounds of the waypoints, although the question at the playground was quite ambiguous. Then a short walk to the final, where a bit of lateral thinking was required to find the cache. All good inside the container. Tftc!
Road tripped up to Palmie for a couple of events and at the second one a couple of us decided to sneak out as matagouri could feel this cache calling him and The Seagnoid was keen to undertake maintenance close by. It was just before dusk when matagouri, The Seagnoid and I pulled up to tackle this one. Most points were straightforward after a bit of walking up and down in this lovely neighbour hood, but one question was a little confusing - so used checksum to deduce that one. TFTC - cache all well here.
I'm not sure how long I have been working this one out, a number of years off and on. No longer though. I can finally put this one to bed. Thanks for organizing this multi.
All was going smooth until the tyre swings question. There are no tyre swings just normal swings. Maybe they have been swapped out or is just a trick question. Eventually had the cache in hand
I wrote in the log and concealed it carefully back as found, TFTCSL, Thanks edvern for this Multi-Cache cache!

Day out caching with "Infoferret", "barefootguru" and "bruzie" (Logged as CIBB). Gathered the required information in the rain and then made our way to GZ. Parked close by cache was closer to eye height than waist height. Thanks for the find in the rain.
CrystalFairy, Infoferret, barefootguru and myself headed up from Wellington on a thoroughly wet day for caching in the Manawatū. All caches signed as "Team CIBB" (or variations depending on who had previously found them).
We were able to collect most of the clues from the shelter of the car and worked out the final coordinates. Headed on over there and elements were braved to make the find. All good here, and TFTC

Walked the complete multi today to check it out. Thanks to Denomynator's observation WP2 has been updated (same location) as the previous sign is geting very faded. Ready for visitors!
I had half an hour to kill before meeting a friend so wandered around Savage Cres for this cache. I know the area well, having cycled past it to school and uni for many years! It was lovely to take a closer look at it.
There was one hiccup with the numbers. There is now a new sign at WP2 with different numbers - you need to look closely at the faded sign which is still there.
Easy find at the final. TFTC!

Enjoyed the history and pleasant stroll collecting the information. Had to check twice at one of the waypoints. Headed off the GZ and all was well. Signed the log. Thanks edvern.
After reading the wrong sign and some help from the owner I finally had this in my hot little hand today. Thanks forbthe help, and i have done ask as you asked.
Lovely night for a stroll after tea around the heritage housing area and getting cache location answers. Cache all dry, signed and replaced as found. TFTC
Checking this one out and found that the cache container at the final had gone. Some over zealous tree trimming has occurred! Container is replaced and the waypoints checked and updated with some improvements made to the hints. All good to go now.
Trying to increase our multi numbers and this was a great one to complete. No problems with the info and off to the final which was indeed surprising. TFTC
I've managed to contrive to spend so much time in and around Palmerston North over the last couple of months that I am managing to get around to tackling all those caches that I have been looking for a while but hadn't managed to have a go at before.
So this weekend, I had been staying with friends in order to attend the nearby Social Butterfly event yesterday, and today I decided that I really wanted to target some Multi-caches as I tend to mainly concentrate on Trads and Puzzles, but definitely want to get more Multis in order to qualify for some of the Well Rounded Cacher challenges available.
This one would end up being my last effort for the day, so wanted to end on a high. Parking up right next to the Waypoint for "c" and "d", I soon had most of the required info gathered. Just a couple of little walks to get the rest, and then use the checksum to work out exactly what the correct answer is to "f" (as I wasn't sure whether the big one counted or not) and then it was another brief stroll to get to the location of the final.
Being a Sunday morning, there were few people around to disturb me whilst I dealt to the appropriate caching administration, after which I was able to replace everything as it was found and then back to the car to head off home.
Thank you for the History lesson, and for bringing me to a place I haven't been to before.

I had a day of in Palmerston and used this time to have a little walk and grab some Caches.
I also tried this little multi. All the tasks were really easy only at F I didn't know wether the big round swing counts or not. But finally it was an easy find!
Thanks for hiding!

Checked this one out. All is well. The vegetation at the final GZ has matured a lot since placement so a hint has been added.
Had a good look, didn't find anything. Found a padlock but it was rusted over and had no writing. Can the owner please check the cashe
I had this one on my list for a while as had solved a long time ago, it didn't take to long to find, kaleb had a lady pop up with a very strong knock to the fence and a very growly face towards him even though he had only said he could find it, then she saw me and I said this is an intresting bug just what we have been looking for, she quickly popped her head back down, so nice quick find after all. Thanks for the placement.
Out with DDT-T42-24T at the esplanade doing the multi's.
Slight detour for this one, but first find of the day.

What an interesting area quite nicely hidden away yet central to many activities in the area. Thank you for the Multi and the cache.
Quick drive around to work out coords and a quick locate at the final. Now I'm late for my movie date. TFTC
What a neat little street with lovely little houses. Interesting bit of history as well. I made a daft mistake which still gave me the correct sum total but the final was a bit far away for sensibility. However I checked and rechecked my adding and yes it was 101. So off I drove, to get halfway to where my GPS said it was, to have a light-bulb moment about one recorded number as being wrong. Counted it out on my fingers and dah. So down that one and up another one (that could be one of two numbers) and still got the 101. I then had a nearby sensible GPS location for the final. So back I drove and yes, bingo. Not bad coverage from muggles in a muggle area. Felt quite chuffed solving and collecting this one. TFTC
Nice to walk round my old neighborhood. Quick find at another fun location. Thanks for the cache!
Waypoint item E has been removed! But I'm sure a quick look at Google Earth would resolve it.
#769 Put the bike in the car, parked up in the Esplanade and went for a ride around Savage Crescent with an eye on this one, and another by Segnoid. Had previously tried to do this one via Google earth but glad I got out on the ground as it was a pleasant ride around. Had a postie tell me to avoid a particular numbered house because its a tinny house but there you go. Interesting to see all the different nationalities of people living in this community. Particularly loved the alleyways to the internal park which provided a retreat to work out the next coordinates. Oh and had to pass by the final four times, waiting for a particular van and occupants that were set up with umbrellas etc for the day to leave. Got there eventually. Thanks for a great cache edvern. Gets a fav from me.
The kids & I collected the necessary numbers by car a couple of days ago as it was drizzling & Master 13mths was asleep. Stopped by today to tick this off. Enjoyed looking around Savage Cres & the history. TFTC
We had friends visiting us for the evening, but trying to keep up our streak (today is day 74!) we dragged them out in the rain and in the dark to help us find this one. We got all the co-ordinates ok and only struggled with jumpy GPS for the last waypoint, but we got there in the end!
We headed to the final cache location with our head torches and on, and it wasn't long before I spotted it! Thanks for the walk around!

Been working on this one a little while - thanks to Mr Google! and finally got time to do it in the flesh! with phone threatening to die and all we found this one!!! thanks so much - must give it a favourite as it made our 100 find - and on New Years Eve too!
Nice easy find once I got all the info from the waypoints although I didn't really want to stick my hand in the location of the cache as it had been raining as was pretty mucky. TFTC edvern
A nice quiet afternoon to do a local multi cache..enjoyed working out the various stages, and then on to the final..thanks edvern, well done!
It's good to do a local multi. Quickly found the answers to the questions then onto the final. An interesting area. TFTC
Thanks for the multi and nice to chat with you at the event this morning (no hints were given!) So I was pleased to find your cache this afternoon after a wander round Savage Crescent… hopefully I will soon have enough data to solve the Seagnoids Savage Cres puzzle too!
Cache was dry and well hidden - only had to try two likely GZ's to find it
See you out and about or at the next event!

Finally with some time and in the area I decided to go for a wander around for this multi-cache.
Thanks for the cache
Thanks for the cache
It was fun finding the numbers with my Mummy! I also played at the playground. TFTC
Thank you very much Edvern for this very nice multi-cache! Now I have completed the 7 souvenirs of August. My son and I enjoyed walking around in this tucked-away area and collecting the numbers to get the final coordinates. It took us a little while to find the chache, but we were fortunate that there were no cars around. TFTC
Nearly two years have passed since I found the ADV version of this cache in Miramar. I am unsure why it has taken me so long to attempt this one as I have visited Palmerston North many times since.
However, it worked out well as this was the ideal sort of multi to keep me on track to find eight different types of cache in one day.
I had no problems tracking down the coordinates thanks to unambiguous questions and a checksum. At the final, I didn't spot the cache immediately but, after seeing no other likely hiding spots, a more thorough search produced the treasure.
One thing I noticed while walking around the waypoints was the variety of houses. I had not expected that.
Thanks, edvern, for a very interesting cache.

Found eventually - got the coordinates but found muggles at the site so came back at end of the day to log it. Tftc
Couldn't find it back in November but after confirming with the CO I got it easily today.
Thanks for the multi.
Thanks for the multi.
Another cache I tried to search for unsuccessfully in the dark but found easy today tftc!
This was the last cache on my mission today but after getting the numbers and then having a good search at the GZ I couldn't find it. I'm confident I was in the right place and kept the search area wide but nothing, well I found some shoes and some plastic lids but no cache.
Didn't take us long to collect all the information from the various waypoints and soon had the coordinates of the final location. However this was several weeks ago as for some reason we made a right hash of looking for the cache, despite a number of visits to the GZ . Given that everyone else seemed to find the cache easily enough we ended up checking with the CO if we had got the correct information, even though the checksum matched. With an additional hint from the CO we finally located the cache in the obvious spot. TFTC edvern.
I easily found the info required for the final and yes it did surprise me where the final was - in fact I was a little sceptical that I had the right co ords but I was confident of my answers and the checksum added up so I thought I'd go and 'check it out.'
I followed the gps to GZ and I was pleasantly surprised to find the cache...and quickly too...yay As I was signing the log a car drove out of the nearby driveway and I was like 'ut oh, what do I do now' but luckily the nearby trees gave me the necessary cover to hide from the muggle car....wheeww!

TFTC!!
I'd planned this caching day much earlier in the week so was disappointed to wake up to rain this morning. Went out anyway and it turned out to be quite a good day as there were very few muggles around and the rain was only very light for most of the day.
To be honest I'd completed most of the questions at home but did a quick drive by to confirm a couple of answers. This lead me to a nice little spot for the final and a quick find. TFTC

A nice walk around the block. Also a good hiding spot.

Had to do this multi as I am staying with my brother who owns one of the stately homes in this area. Although he is not allowed to change the exterior of the front of his house, he has had extensive renovations done making it a very comfortable home. Not long ago I completed Stately Homes #1 in Wellington so it was good to carry on with the theme. TFTC.
The first for the day and a really crisp morning to be wandering around looking for the required info.
Quick find once we'd figured it all out.

Enjoyed doing this one. got all the information and used the sum check to double check one answer I wasn't too sure about. Then off to GZ for a nice quick find. TFTC
A great wee activity for an overcast afternoon. Our 3 yr old enjoyed this one with a playground stop in the middle.
Completed this cache on foot today. Was well prepared so I didn't need to linger near peoples houses. GPS took me directly to a quick find at the final location.
I tried the Welly version last year but it was missing.
We have an area just like this at home, I guess most NZ cities do.

To tell the truth, I didn't go to the waypoints. Used Google maps, maths skills and common sense Went straight for the final hide. Thanks!
Was a bit worried we had the wrong coordinates, but they were correct.. Thankfully TFTC
A really interesting bit of history! We got muggled by the man at WP#5 minus 2. He came out eating a sausage in a bun and asked why we had paused at his letterbox, looked at "that thing", moved on to the neighbour's box and written something down? We did our best to explain geocaching... he was proud to tell us the history of the area, with one of every state house design built here. They get bus tours going around the crescent, and it's an historic precinct. They aren't allowed to put up new fences in front of the houses although existing fences can stay.
Found on a Boxing Day outing with EtherDad, Mum, and Great-Nana.I could hear people having fun at one of my favourite venues and wanted to join them!
Found on a family outing with Mrs Etherlord, Toddler Etherlord and Great-Nana Etherlord.
I thought it was a little strange that the final GZ wasn't within the subdivision that we had just been exploring, but that's all good. T4TC

I wonder if the lady living near one of the WP's was getting suspicious of a white van stalking out her neighbourhood.... After a bit of figure swapping we came up with a solution, nice final spot.

#2591. An interesting area and road layout. Made hard work of finding the final; Troodles eventually spotted it. TFTC.
We have failed to find the Wellington version of this subject, so it was good to track down this cache.
BTW, the cache is a micro - we were searching for a small, so didn't search the hiding place well enough on the first pass.

We arrived and collected the information as we slowly drove around the streets, trying not to look like crooks checking out the neighbourhood.
The area does remind a little of some of the older suburbs of Adelaide.
Found with MrMeccano on a pleasant caching day around Palmerston North.

Replaced cache with hopefully a more watertight small screw top container. The original logbook has been dried out and returned.

Noted that the cache and its contents are very wet - will do owner maintenance asap.
Got a confession to make. Been to the Wine and Food Festival with Edvern and Done & Dusted, sampled plenty of regional wines and very nice they were too. To Edvern's horror we drove around the waypoints to collect this information, and then to within 3 metres of the final. However all that said, a very interesting collection of State houses from that era, and an enjoyable cache. TFTC
Set out to do this cache with Mr and Mrs Sfortyoner armed with torches since it was getting dark. Surprisingly no one accosted us rather suspicious characters flashing torches at letter boxes. Found the final cache without too much trouble. It was a bit damp inside though. Thanks for giving us an interesting stroll before dinner edvern.
Interesting area to look around. Found with Spudpn and Gumpy Boy. Co-ords were bang on. TFTC
Quickly found after doing the research online a few months ago. TFTC. Contents a bit damp.
