Another successful day in AucklandThis one is a old cacheEnjoyed the walk along the trailThanks for the cache
Up in Auckland for a day with ABCDF4 and eyespyben. Enjoying this walk along the bush track. For such a big cache it took too long to find. Thankfully log was signed and cache was put back. Thank you for the placement.
Found it had no pen on us and the pens were rusty so we just took a photo what a nice walk beautiful scenery TFTC

With downsouthinv and Abbykitt on a whirlwind weekend for a conference. Time to find this one.
Took a while to find but eventually got it. Forgot to bring a pen and all the pens inside were rusted so couldnt log
Working my way through Auckland's oldest caches so had to nab this one from 2001! Very cool container, my first of that type! Thanks for maintaining this piece of geocaching history!!
Pretty sweet find, pretty rusty in the inside but its expected from a metal container.
Easy find, however the contents of the cache look as though a child has been playing with them in a sandpit. The whole lot could be cleaned out / replaced?TFTC!!
Great hike and a fun surprise that. First time in the area. Never would have found this place otherwise!
Overshot the geozone by a bit at first but after backtracking we easily found the cache.
As often happens, I had to get off the track to find the container and then a muggle came past. He accepted my story about it being a bait station. TFTC
Chuffed to get here today, been chasing missing months. I wasn't sure we had time while waiting to pick up a family member from the airport but we seemed to, so I sent the driver this way. Turned out we had a bit of a walk, but the parents are up for it - yah. Found the start of the walkway we needed and headed down. Just as I went to collect this great cache we were joined on the walkway, by a runner. Lovely bush and great cache container - we love these, thank you. A lovely area to bring us to.
Actually stumbled upon this years ago but never logged it once I finally started actually geocaching. So today I went down the track to find it - had to climb over a tree that had slipped onto the path, but managed to get there and found the cache relatively quickly. Tftc!
Day 1: We ( TeamARF, Gcoven and myself) arrived in the very early of this morning. Had the dramas with our rental car but eventually we got it all sorted and we drove off to our accommodation nearby for a few hours sleep before we start the real trip.
Today the plan is to just pick up a few things randomly around our accommodation. We have a gigantic list of old, interesting, highly favourited and a few Geo-arts to try and collect over the next 10 days. There is a good chance we got lazy with our logging and do some joint variation of our initials - TGJ, GJT or JGT.
Please excuse the generic log, just have extremely little data to try and survive on it for the 10 days. However, you can be assured that if we have found your cache it was special to us for some reason or in a special location - so thank you for contributing to our holiday.
I will edit logs when back in Brisbane to add more details to those that need more details and of course I will be adding favourite points as I go along.

After a longggggggg evening / early morning travel from Aussie it was great to see some daylight for caching in NZ. This was our first stop and what a memorable cache to collect for our first of this trip. Thanks to all for keeping this oldie active.
Our first day in the land of the long white cloud. TeamARF JACSTeam and myself heading on an adventure! Much fun had today . Great to grab a well cared for oldie . Thanks for the amazing array of caches
Nice easy find today! The cache is a little rusty & worse for wear but otherwise good to go again! A good find after two other DNFs today!
How cool to get this old one. Put a bison and new log inside to protect. Protect this cache. December 2001 caches are very rare.
Day 3 and everything is still wet wet wet. But the sun is coming out.
So exciting to be heading to NZ. Have not been to the NI so looking forward to exploring. Did not make it to the last Mega because of Covid so wonderful Kittykatch and I can get here now.
Thanks for getting me out and about -OGP-

New Zealand North Island - Day 3
Found with Joolay on a trip to NZ to find the GeoTour. I really enjoyed finding this cache, despite the walk down to the river and then back up again. So cool to find this oldie and popped a log sheet in a bison tube inside the ammo can as no log sheets found in the cache. Thanks for the cool cache -OGP-

I'm dogsitting in the area so took the doggies out for a walk here. Initially looked under the wrong place but found after giving up and walked a bit further lol. Cache is wet inside with a small puddle tho.
Zusammen mit meiner Tochter diesen schnen Oldie gesucht und gefunden. Vielen Dank fr den Erhalt und herzliche Gre vom Rumtreiber aus Braunschweig, Deutschland.
Walking along this nice path thinking it'd be a nice place for a cache, opened the app and sure enough I was standing right on top of one
A new square for my Jasmer! Nice area with lots of new planting Quick find, thanks Johnny Cache NZ & -OGP-!
Joint find with barefootguru on our Auckland/Hauraki/Coromandel adventure. TFTC!
Beautiful afternoon walk. And why not? Let’s go cache hunt!
Thanks for the cache. It needs a bit of maintenance.

A little rusty and hard to open, but compared to the last one an easy find. FP for placing this cache on this great walkway. Tftc
Wow this is the second amo can that we have ever found, I definitely want to find more of these caches. A favourite point given because of its wonderful hide.

Team BOP is back on the road this time heading to Auckland with our sights set on some Labs, puzzle solves and the NZ Mega 2020… I mean 2022
Our current incarnation includes Davidson Clan, McJandals and myself and we’ve signed the cache logs as ‘Team BOP’ to save time and log space. We’ve thoroughly enjoyed the journey as most caches have been found quickly & without fuss thanks to accurate coords and a straight forward placements.
I appreciate there’s a stigma attached to cut’n’paste logs like these so I’ll try to provide cache specific notes retrospectively when I get home. We do genuinely respect the work put into these caches, particularly some of the puzzles, but with a numbers mission like this - the hides start to blur together unfortunately. So Cheers COs, TFTC and most importantly - thanks for bringing us here

FINALLY we get to attend the MEGA. Attending as part of Team BoP. We have a load of solved puzzles and whilst we are concentrating on those, won’t pass up on trads either. This is day two of our great weekend.
Great to be able to get such an oldie.
I am logging using the Cachly app template so please excuse generic logging along the way. It’s just my way of keeping track, but I do genuinely thank each and every one of you cache owners for taking the time and energy to place these caches. Many Thanks for bringing me here. Cheers.

First time I’ve found one of this type! TFTC! Log a little wet but otherwise all good
Once again, I find myself on a geocache inspired impromptu trip to another part of the country. Today I'm in Auckland (from Wellington) for the day. I came with one specific purpose, and once that was completed, I had several other specific caches I wanted to collect during my time here, and this was one of them.
A nice walk through the bush here, cache found without any trouble once I waited for a gap in the stream of runners, walkers, dogs, baby strollers, joggers...

2nd find of 2022. Went for a New Year's Day walk and grabbed this one on the way. Wasn't too tricky. Thanks!
A few friends were keen to get our fitness up for a big hike coming up. Did not expect to go caching today but I really should have known better since I was going with Keylev! We were getting these caches for me whether I wanted to or not, and you know what, I ain't complaining!

Time was running out on my trip out so after heading up Mount Wellington I headed straight here. A nice walk across the field in the sunshine and descended to path to GZ. Passed over the cache initially but a cautious peer showed the visible container and signed the RITR replacement log and removed the wet slop that was the previous logbook. Saw a lizard on the way back and read the info on the walkway signs. Good to get my second oldie of the day and straight back home now with no other finds planned.
And so, finally, we are allowed to go Geocaching again after just over 7 weeks lockdown when caching, and other non-essential activities were not recommended to be done to reduce the spread of covid, and reduce unnecessary movement through areas. Plenty of time on my hands to solve puzzles, not solve puzzles and read logs of previous finders of caches, and to message a few other cachers to discuss 'stuff.
Not a huge amount of caches found but managed my last 2 regional 'hidden months' (both from 2001) as well a Wherigo and a couple of solved puzzles and a final Ad Lab stage to complete that one. The weather was nice and warm and was good to be on the trails again and not cooped up getting up to meme mischief. Thanks to all COs.

Out for a walk today with a few other team SEAC members whom had found these caches on another vist.....Had just missed a massive down pour of rain, which we later discovered was the edge of a mini tornado that swept through Papatoetoe/Manukau....luckily missing us.....
With the rain clearing to reveal an awesome day for a tramp/walk and to clear up the caches along this trail.....
A little searching, then found and signed in....

Had found and logged this a while ago, but for some reason the log didn’t come through.
Took us a while to find, but eventually spotted the well-hidden hide.
Great container.

======== NZ Mega 2020 ========
NZ Mega 2020 is definitely happening, but has been postponed until 2021. It will be held in Auckland over Labour Weekend, 22 to 25 October 2021. It's going to be a massive celebration of geocaching:
• 20+ years of geocaching worldwide.
• 20+ years since New Zealand had the very first geocache hidden outside of USA.
• All the 20s and now 21 as well!
Talk to your geo-friends and start planning to be part of this event - you won't want to miss it!

After a one week trip to Chch to try for some Jasmer grid fillers, solved puzzles and challenges, i thought I might as well make the effort on our trip home to Northland to detour out east and try for this one which would also fill a Jasmer spot.
A nice quick find at GZ with no muggles around. Thx for keeping this oldie going. TFTC

We are on our summer holiday, we usually take a few weeks and travel around the South Island, but this year we are heading around the North Island. Heading up the West coast and back down the East coast. Finding only a select few caches along the way, we are mostly targeting some challenges we have qualified for, some large size caches, some that fill gaps in our date placed grid, a few D/T combinations, some with lots of favourite points, letterboxes and anything else that grabs our fancy.
I had a fall on day two of our holiday, while out geocaching which has resulted in a fractured bone in my leg and I am in a moon boot and with crutches and I was told to keep weight off my leg. So I am only limited use when it comes to our trip now. I tend to stay in the campervan and just hand out suggestions of when and where GK should search.
We were heading out of Auckland today but before we left I really really wanted this one with our names on the log as it fills a gap in our date placed grid. So no matter if it was pouring with rain gk was on a mission to find this one. I stayed in the van as there was no way I would have got down there with a broken leg, he was soon back with the good news that this was now on our found list.
Thanks for placing this cache and maintaining it, and thank you for the smiley.

I can’t believe this cache have made been here for 19 years!
So cool that it still exists, it must be one of the oldest in Auckland.
Anyway, was a quick find while walking this afternoon.

Easy as to find. A relief as we have had a couple of DNF today. Needed this date for my missing months. Up in the north here with Kiscardi.
Out on a walk with some of Team SEAC enjoying the weather and getting our fitness up for a planned Tongariro Crossing next year.
Nice to find such an old cache! Log not in great shape so have added some new log paper.
Thanks for the cache.

Some member of Team SEAC are in training for the Tongariro Crossing and were organising outings around hikes in order to prepare for the trip. This was one of those hikes, a 10km return walk from Point View Drive to Shelly Beach and back. Of course, you can't just do the walk and not grab a few caches that are on offer along the way.
Continuing along the walkway in the training hike mentioned above, we came across this cache. It's always nice to find a quintessential geocache container. Once again, we sent the young ones in to find the cache and it didn't take them long at all to do so. They had a little trouble gaining access to the log, so the adults offered help, by which time, one of the young ones had found a not so optimal way to open the container.
Anyway, the log was signed as Team SEAC in order to save log space and the cache replaced back where it had been found.

Out with some of TEAM SEAC doing some training walks in preperation for doing the Tongariro crossing. Once at GZ we all had a pretty good idea where to start looking. The younger members were quick to jump over and start the search. It didn't take long for it to be spotted. They enjoyed finding a cache container of this type. The log was replaced as the old one was not in good condition. The log was signed TEAM SEAC to save space and on we went with our walk. TFTC.
Visiting family in Auckland for the school holidays. Collecting some local caches. This was an amazing reserve that we hadn’t been to. Came in to fill one of my blank Jasmer months. Worried by the previous two DNF but no problems finding the cache. Signing the log however was not an option as it was soaked. Photo provided as evidence instead. A favourite for the caches age and this beautiful reserve. Thanks
spent 20 mins looking with jessiezoe and our friend. been raining so very wet and couldn’t find, maybe to much leaf coverage. did see some cool fungus though
Another cache for the Jasmer challenge. I was quite keen to try for this one.. Unfortunately as logged, the log is wet. It appears cache has been the ground, and I didn't have a new log book on me sorry. Otherwise the cache was quickly found. Cheers, #2172
Wow, such an old cache! Awesome to still have it around. Easily found. Nice size too. Log is quite damp, so I etched what I could into the paper. TFTV
For a T1.5 I expected it to be easier but absolutely loved the trail. Signed Nanook and me in purple ink which may smear on the very wet log. Glad this one is still around. TFTC.
This was my very first found geocache! Big thank you for the hint, we are still very much learner drivers. Sad to see the log note pad was wet though and falling apart. Still, a fun time looking for this one!
Thanks! This is an unfound month for me. It was a fun little coastal hide!
Found easily, but the log is soaked and unable to be written on. I appreciated this one as it fills a gap in my NZ JASMER grid (just 1 left now.) Thank you to all who have kept this going over the years.
Easy find with grandees. Lovely big cache but oh dear it’s very wet and log soaked. TFTC. Sort of signed wet log.
A very nice old cache but the logbook is wet - very wet.
Thanks for keeping this oldie alive.
