Old bridge has been replaced. Could not find cache at site. May need to be replaced now bridge is finished?

What an interesting piece of history, thanks for telling us the story. You can't just name a bridge that and then leave people hanging. A fair bit of water was going over the weir today, and people were out enjoying their easter fishing. Thanks for bringing us here and for the cache.
It said there was a trackable here, but there was none inside the container. Took us a little bit of searching but some previous messages got us on the right track. Thanks
[:(!] On arrival at me geosons (Revoluti Solutio) house the previous day to spend part of the weekend with his geowife and three geograndchildren, after going to church and some lunch at Atkinson Park we headed for home via Murrabit and grabbed a few caches along the way and this was one of them, parked the geocar as close as possible to GZ and walked in from there, on arrival at GZ the cache was in hand in a matter of minutes.

Chunk grew up here, so there were many memories to share. Spent the morning fishing, and Chunk caught the mother of all carp - a massive fish we nicknamed Big Bertha. (did not put it back of course). Initially saw it just sitting in the shallows by the bank, before it saw us and swam away. But one minute later, it couldn't resist the worms. Broke the tackle but only upon landing it. After that, there was another much smaller (normal sized) carp that got away, and lots of shrimp having a bit of a free feed. Cache in good condition. TFTC.
After a quick inspection of the fishy ladder, I wandered across the rickety bridge to GZ
Damn cache took a bit of finding though
But I know how invisible cache hides can be in this sort of scenery,
so I persisted
Oh there you are you little scoundrel
Well this little cache has been through the wars [:o]
The lid was more holes than plastic.
So the cache container I found has gone to the big recycling bin in the sky
And replaced by a new,
polyethylene container that used to contain fruit [:o]
But now contains a logbook, some swaps and a lot of memories [^]

Heading to Cohuna for the Cohuna Matata event, stopped to make this find to continue my cache a day run. Many thanks The Morris for placing this cache and for giving me a reason and opportunity to visit this area.
Visited here with BPJTHillas whilst at Cohuna event. We've been here before so to prevent P from crawling out on the concrete on the wrong side of the bridge, we very quickly helped them to narrow down the search for them! I think the heat was starting to do funny things to our heads!
Thanks again The Morris

Nice one. Have worked nearby but didn't know about Tragedy Bridge, so thanks. Weir is a nice spot too. Took carabiner left horse.
Nice little weir....never been out to check it out before. Looks like a good fishing spot. Took nothing, left a TB. TFTC
checked out the weir on the way to the cache found and logged fairly easily tftc
Would love to know more about the irrigation system here, but miles to cover and all that. Thanks for the break and the cache.
Worth stopping at the weir itself to read the information boards.
Mr Boobook used to camp here in the 50s when in scouts.

Not the best place to take a caravan had to cross bridge to turn around but we survived and found the cache. Left smurf took red car. TFTC
3760th total find at around 13:09
Met the hoons again, spewing up tons of dust as they totally disregard the cost of rubber.
The weir looks good with water flowing over it, but we didn't notice the fish ladder.
(Do fish need a "working at heights" certificate to climb ladders?)
Thanks The Morris for the cache

Woohoo...another find for team Bmac&cindy, what a great day! Lovely spot!! TFTC.
Cache was not well hidden so we tucked it further under the bush. Paint coming off after so long in the sun. TFTC!
What a lovely location! I visited the Kerang Weir while riding out of Kerang on the way to Barham. The ride along Gail Lane (that 's the name on Google Earth) was made tricky by the ruts, sand and narrow tyres on my bike.
Thanks for the cache The Morris.
Thanks for the cache The Morris.
Took a bit of searching as coords appeared a bit out today. Cache in hand, SL. Examined fish ladder. TFTC
Gave a friend some light relief from VCE study to introduce her to geocaching here. Close to home but took some finding.
Found by the wonderful wife while I was checking out the river .... Mozzies very friendly T magnet L wristband ...... Very nice spot, great to see some water flowing
Suscoe found this cache on a chilly morning.
River running a bit high.
The fish ladder is remarkable.
Took hamster TB.
Thanks to The Morris for bringing us to this interesting spot.

Great engineering history, spot (few muggles) and effort. Well done. Dropped off TB Hamster. TFTC
I liked reading about the history of this area as it added to the sombre and grey atmosphere that surrounded this place this morning. Overnight rain had turned the track to mush and I tiptoed acros the bridge to avoid the worst of it. I half expected to see bears plucking salmon off the nearby fish ladder but none were seen.
Thanks
Thanks
This is the 923rd find for WazzaAndWenches
Day one of our holiday to Victor Harbor. Today we managed to get as far as Mildura. Weather was very windy and often wet - not a great day for getting out looking for caches.
After having looked for this cache some months back and eventually working out that it was underwater it was good to be able to finally tick it off the list.
Water was flowing well after the overnight rain but the cache was high and dry. Not quite the same comment for the sticky mud on the nearby track - raised my height by a few mm between getting out of the car and getting back in.
Thanks for replacing the cache The Morris.

It nearly was a Tragedy Bridge - we couldn't find the cache!
I have to stop listening to the owner about where they think the cache might be!
Interesting fish ladder at the weir.
Thanks, Robmc.

after the recent floods to our town we went out to find the replacement cache easy find
A nice quiet spot for a cache. Great to meet and chat with Team Ladava (who were not pesky muggles after all!). TFTC.
Found by Team Ladava around 2.30pm
We headed up from Sunbury to visit the relatives for Easter but they were working today so we started the return journey a little earlier than usual and decided to do a few caches we normally consider too far off the highway to detour to in the usual rush home late on Sunday night on a normal weekend.
We really enjoy this style of cache. A drive in the country, some very informative cache notes and taken to an area we would not normally visit. What more could you want?. Oh, a TB which is something of a rarity these days and meeting another team as we enjoyed a chat with 2raskals who pulled up just as we were logging the cache and picking up the TB
Took TB
Left trinket
Our thanks to The Morris for the cache and bringing us to this location.

Can recommend these containers - this one has been submerged for 5 months and Romax reports it is as dry as a bone.. Tnx to Romax for relocating it.
Following the recent visit by 'romax', thought I would wander out for a morning's walk to the Weir and go find the cache after an earlier unsuccesful visit. The updated co-ordinates are spot on, though the cache remains well hidden. You can still see evidence of the floods along the way. At the Weir there is a fine beauty to the place that offers good photographic opportunities, especially with all the bird life. The Fish ladder is especially interesting. I'd recommend you walk in from Kerang proper (leave the car at the railway station), pass the Dead Center of Kerang (quite some life stories on the devoted headstones), cross the Tragedy Bridge (an old wooden one that spans Pyramid Creek) and just enjoy the landscape. Good spot for a picnic too. Thank you to 'The Morris' for another enjoyable caching experience and to 'romax' for finding the cache again. Took TB.

Called in today to check on the submersible and sure enough it was still under 400mm of water, but as testament to the security of its placement niche and the integrity of these Super Lock clip top containers, the contents were as dry as when we first found it some eight months ago!
Water marks on the adjacent tree indicate the container had been under 2m+ water at the flood peak!
Seeing it was in such good condition, and as a temporary measure, we relocated it nearby at S35 42.235 E143 55.093 until Robyn & team decide on a more permanent future for this resilient container, which surely holds the prize for being the geocaching flood survivor of this year!

Went for a ramble to the Weir just to see the state of play with this one. Appears still under water, very muddy, though lots of fish in the Weir. Prodded about with the plod stick but alas no unearthly taps. Will need a further period of dry weather to see if this one has survived, though I reckon there might be a chance, hopefully!
The cache remains well under water and there is more coming over the next couple of days. Debating whether to archive or raise the terrain rating to 5 stars - "need scuba equipment."
By the look of Wazza's photo the cache is under a LOT of water. Will be in Kerang in 2 weeks so will check it then.
Initially the GPS had me rummaging around in the undergrowth for quite a while. The only thing I found was a pair of jocks
A new angle had me balancing along the edge of the water and trying to avoid slipping into the mire. With the GPS trying to send me 21m into the water and time slipping by I wandered back to the car to log a DNF.
The attached photo shows high water and a fish ladder that is very close to fully submerged.
Thanks The Morris.

Rocky Glen Grommets were on their way to Phillip Island for the Aussie MotoGP - we got washed out the night before (we WERE tenting it!) and the ground and weather conditions were just horrific - we attempted to retrieve the cache but it was just TOO muddy, too wet to source in the blinding rain...........next time!
XC on business in nearby Cohuna from Auckland NZ.. Had some time to fetch a few on the way back to Melbourne airport.. Drove the rental here and parked nearby... Walked down to GZ dodging huge puddles after recent rains.. Managed to retrieve cache ok...
All good... Dropped in Coin I picked up in WA...

We took the opportunity to look in on your cache while we were on our way to Swan Hill to visit a friend who is recovering from major surgery.
With last nights heavy rainfall there was plenty of water passing over the weir and we decided not to test our vehicles 4wd capabilities by not using the vehicle turnaround and parking area provided below the access road!
We loved the decorative motiff on the large well stocked and camouflaged container
We left our mark in the log and thank you The Morris for placing this hide and the FTF pathtag.
Cheers,
from Romax.
