I spotted this one yesterday when I drove past and said to myself I'll stop here tomorrow. Tomorrow is today and with spot on co-ords I made a quick find and left my name on the fresh log. Thanks Sidewaze.
Good to go. Someone made a sign for the cache. Isn't that sweet of them ?
It would be rude of me not to add a photo of it to the webpage.

We climbed the mountain, crossed the river and got the cache!!! Log damp but just signaled. TFTC
I looked very perplexed as I spied GZ from the road and wondered what do do. Fortunately, I remembered RG1972's photo which took me to the right entry spot. Once I forded the massive river, I climbed the mountain to GZ. I was worried that it would take some searching, but the cache was covered with some suspicious camo. The log paper is very tender. I didn't do it any favors when I signed the log. The CO may want to replace. TFTC

Second find of the day & RNZ had to go bush for this one. He loves a good fossick in the bush! Motueka is my childhood town, so lots of cool memories to share with RNZ along our travels today
Today we thought we would head over to Motueka to visit the market & then up the Motueka Valley to Ngatimoti for some geo adventures. My grandparents lived just across the Peninsula Bridge so I love this area The we drove through to Upper Moutere via Risedale Road & stopped at the Upper Moutere pub to refuel The Polenta chippies are yummy!!!!!

Second find of the day, and already I am regretting the decision to go geocaching in jandals.
A bit wet through the grass here, and this took a while to track down. Eventually spotted it as I just about stood on it. The rock here was not as obvious as I hoped it would be, but the covering camo caught my eye.
TFTC Sidewaze. Log a bit damp too, but otherwise ok.

We made our way through the very long wet grass to the cache location, and found it lying in the open, and looking as if it had done for some time. The log was fragile, but usable. We replaced it in a nearby hole and covered it. TFTC
On way home but wanted to stretch the legs. Found on second sweep through the area.
Second attempt here, lthough the first attempt was in the rain - climbing up wet gras did not seem likre a good ides. This time I have Taybeedragon to help out. Climbed up to the top via the fenceline but the GPS suggested it is closer to the road so climbed back down. I should have given up there a better search, just in case. From the road it is step and the grass is loose, so did not climb up to the sl=mall shelf where we thought the cache might be. So in other words, no luck today.
Given that I am leaving Blenheim soon, I am putting in a concerted effort to cache out the South Island. 40 caches this weekend, only a few thousand more to go. A couple more weeks should do it! As usual I have Zara, Toby and Taybeedragon along for the ride. We were supposed to be going to Murchison, but there is some horrible weather that way, so we came here. Much better!!

I disabled my caches during Level 4 lockdown to encourage everyone to do the right thing. Now we’re moving to Level 3 I’m going to leave the decision to search for a cache or not to each individual. Remember you still need to stay in your bubble and a bit of hand sanitiser before and after handling a cache would be appropriate. Keep yourself and others safe.

I'd looked for this one previously but there had been a lot of rain so had an idea where I thought it would be but it was a little too slippery, today out for a walk with SJT_NZ, no one about and within seconds he had cache in hand. All safe and sound, thanks Sidewaze for the smilie.
Tregearp and I planned a trip up Rocky River Road and picked out a couple of additional caches to add to the trip - and these was one of those.
The coordinates are excellent - following the GPSr I got down to less than a couple of metres, looked down - and there it. A tad damp but the log is still okay. We dried the container and bag and replaced as found, but a bit better concealed.
Thanks for another Sidewaze cache.

Fun find for the kids climbing the bank. Container fairly wet.. log still able to be signed. TFTC
Headed along and parked on the wide piece of grass. Checked roadside and across the way before reading logs and heading up. Soon had the cache in hand, as well as muddy fingers and a first blood-letting of the day. All good and replaced as found. T F T C Sidewaze.
A Saturday at our disposal and Autumn marching rapidly towards the cold of Winter meant I weighed up my weekend intentions, especially as I was to be working all day (and night) on Sunday. Although I've already traversed the Motueka river highway twice in the last 3 weeks, I decided that a repeat of my recent caching run would be in order, with mrs capperz along for a ride too. The leaf coulour, air clarity and general scenery was awesome, yet again, and we had a great day out of over 400kms travelled (local??). Double figure cache finds and a few TBs swapped out to bring back over the hill. We headed out to Motueka viaTapawera and back via Whangamoas.

Wasnt sure of the access to the cache. However like others was located soon after climbing over the log. TFTC

The GPS was pointing to the different spots, but just reading through the logs helped us find it and sign it. Thank you for the cache
I looked all over after figuring out the safest route but looking turned up nothing. 2 for 4 on the day...
Driving towards Motueka and seeing the snow on the Western Ranges is just the most magnificent sight, we are so lucky to be surrounded by such beauty. However in saying that I am definitely a summer girl at heart.
As I arrived at GZ I initially headed along the roadside and I could see where others had searched before me. It just did not feel right so I retraced my steps back to where there was a potenial access point to where I thought I needed to be. Looking at the water I thought to myself that this might be an easier find in summer or when it has not rained the night before. Still, I felt sure this bit of water was not going to stop me searching - over I went and up the bank, a fallen tree was not going to stop me either so over I went and next minute I was signing the log.
I was pleased to retreat to the warmth of my car heater and on my way.
Thanks for placing this cache which will now be a nice yellow smilie colour on my map.

I was on a mission today to find a cache in the North Island and South Island in one day. Having already located a cache in Auckland this morning, I stopped here as it had a easy place to pull over and we were nearing our accomdation. Took a few minutes for the GPS to settle and I was confident I was in the right spot before I started my search. Didn't take to long before I spotted the cache from a small distance. Thanks for the hide, my mission complete.
The hint was a bit of a red herring which had me looking by the roadside - but changed approach and there it was peering down on me tftc
After a couple of longer days at work I decided to head out for a caching drive and while there were closer caches to find I decided to save those for tactical reasons!
So after a pleasant drive to Mot I got down to business.
After some initial uncertainty about best route to access the GZ, I opted for route one and was aided in my search by looking up and seeing the container peeking out - all safe and sound, but enjoying the view.
It's certain a nice winter scene around the valley from here.
Thanks

Many months ago we attempted to get the caches along this stretch of road, unfortunately due to muggles we had to miss quite a few of them. Today we are tidying up those green boxes and turning them into smilies.
Thought my gps was off but then I saw it sitting, uncovered. I hid it a little better with a branch thing but don't think it will stick. Tftc
Today I started from 1957 finds and chasing down 2000. This cache was find 1976. Thanks to Sidewaze for the cache
Off on a days caching with MuzzaL53 helping him get to 2000 - well someone had to help him!! MuzzaL was determined to find this. And the view was spectacular!! TFTC
Found quickly this time as cache was lying out in the open. Following hint, I returned to where maybe it should have been, although quite easy to see if you are standing on front of it... TFTC !
No luck for me this time, will try again next time I'm near. Thanks for the view though
Sadly our GPS seemed to be all over the place with us and we could not locate this GZ. We will try again one day.
Well we only manged a total of 5 today as we got rained on while biking and soaked to the bone, we did love exploring the area and chatted with a lovely farmer on who owned the massive house we had seen. hopefully will do a lot more tomorrow as it stopped raining once we got back to the camp site. Thanks for taking the time to place the cache, added our paracord keychain swag to the ones we were able to.
Once I thought about where a T2 cache could be, it practically waved at me! TFTC.
Wow, how did I miss this last time. A quick find today.
A hot day for some caching.
Thanks for the hide.

Today it was time for leaving Motueka and drive towards Murchison and further on to Westport. On the way we made some stops and found some caches .
Nice view from the GZ. Thanks for the cache.

Must have been quite a view when vegetation was smaller, not much to be seen by us short folk! Found with Mumander.
Had all eyes looking for this. Scrabbled around looking, looking.....until the eagle eyes of the Mr spotted it. TFTC.

This was one of the most epic weeks ever, and definitely my most epic caching week ever.
Me and mum headed up on a holiday north to Nelson and very wider surrounds. In total during the trip, we found almost 500 caches! (470 odd I think, but final results are yet to be in! ) We covered about 3000 odd km I think too. Crazy! And had our absolute best caching day ever too at 160 found. Spend 9 days travelling, caching, and having the best time ever!!
So sorry about not so epic logs, as otherwise this would probably take me the rest of my life to log, especially with two big events to organise coming up! Eeek!!
Almost every single log we signed as 'Team Polak' to avoid needing to write out both usernames taking up space on logsheet - as well as precious caching time!! Haha.
Consec caching day # 704

For the sake of sanity we set off with sonia26642 for a crazy geocaching trip, aiming to cache until we drop. The main destination was Nelson and the ‘surrounding’ area, but then we ended up covering a few miles in three northernmost regions, plus a few in Canterbury. We were signing/stamping the log as 'Team Polak' or ‘TP’ for the two of us on this trip to save logbook space. We found a lot of different caches, city ones, road side, park side, up a hill and on an island, and we enjoyed every single one of them. It was good to be a professional thingfinder for a few days!
We had great fun and are grateful to all CO’s who placed caches for us to find, and help restore our sanity before returning to our other non-geocaching lives!!
Come and join us the next New Zealand geocaching MEGA event!! Register your interest now at www.nzmega2015.com to receive newsletter updates and be the first to know. It will be a great event, come and be a part of it!!

#7975. First find in the valley proper. A bit of a clambour was required. TFTC.
StreetWalker quickly found the cache while I was looking in all the wrong places . Appreciated the good off road parking here and admired the views before setting off again. We had picked a lovely day for a drive down this road. TFTC.
On the way from Mot to Lake Rotoroa grabbing a few caches on the way. Nice easy find. Love the view. Thanks for making me stop and take time to see it.

Came here when we first arrived in Mot but it was so wet we did not pursue. The weather has been dry for a few days now so this was the time to return. A quick find then back on the road. TFTC.
#948 - There is a short stop on our way to Westport - just for this cache. A jump over the 'river' and than a quick grab. TFTC.
Nice day to give the m/bike a run and do a few caches ,lovely day up the valley, Thanx4tc

A quick find on the way to the Kahurangi National Park to do some tramping. Signed log, TFTC
New log book. Everything nice and dry now. Met the resident chooks. They look very happy.
I've been on a three week tour of New Zealand. We were a group of 20 Danes, where I was the only geocacher, but many were interested to hear about what it was.
We arrived in Motueka late afternoon yesterday and all day today was on our own. I chose to lace up my hiking boots and take a walk after the four cache I had chosen the area.
Today's second cache was found after some search.
Thanks to the cache owner for the cache.

Found after a short search. The log is damp and could do with some tlc. TFTC Sidewaze
I let Hazedarus retrieve this one but I was happy to sign the log anyway. Some very healthy and well fed chooks pecking their way round GZ too. TFTC.
Plenty of parking and only a good looking chicken family in residence. When I realised where the cache was it was only a matter of getting at it. TFTC
