Yay! Such fun to find with the trolls. Unfortunately didn’t have a pencil. Thanks!
Miss 16 is currently completing her motorcycle handling skills test here in Wainui, so leaves a wee while for me, GeoHubby (GNARwhal) and Miss 10 (UnicornLex) to grab some caches around the area.
A short walk to this one on boggy ground. After locating the cache we found it soaked as previous loggers have mentioned. We replaced as found but also left a sistema container with a fresh log. If CO does not approve of this please let me know and I can remove it again. Hopefully this cache can last a few more years.

Phooey! Missed it first time with the spider webs, but got there eventually. As noted previously... logbook is saturated. Nice walk along the stream. Coming here in Summer would be lovely. TFTC
A typical sunny Wellington Saturday where I began the day knowing I would do some Geocaching but not quite sure on where the days adventures would take me. Then, as sometimes happens, a new cache was published down past here in what is fast becoming as regular spot for me, and somewhere I am really enjoying visiting. So, that answered my question, and off I went.
Once I had finished with the caches down the end there, and as I made my way back up the valley, I decided to clean up a few of the other caches in the Homedale area, and this was one of them.
A nice wee hide here, found exactly where and as expected. Sadly there has been a bit of water inside the cache and the log book is not in great shape.
Thanks to Grassmouse for placing and maintaining this cache.
I enjoy each and every cache I find, and it is only with CO's like this placing them out in the world that this wonderful game continues.

we were on a walk and I thought it would be a fun idea to see if there were any geocaches and there where. We found the geocaching tucked in the side of the bridge
After a few head knocks and an almost lost phone I found it!! Must have been wet though, the log was a bit soggy
Yay we finally found this cache! No muggles around today and we fended off the trolls. Thank you from Team Fawkes!
We have looked for this two times and are unable to locate the cache. Not sure if someone put it close to the water and it's washed away?
Found by my 6yo daughter (who also found some impressive wildlife nearby!). Our 3rd cache. Thank you!
Found it with my nephews I was minding them for the day. Older nephew found it after I almost fell in the creek.
Have been looking for this for a couple of months! My son and brother came down and found it first go so I had to come out and try again. Great find thank you!
A quiet wander here on a Sunday morning. I parked near 'an unusual sport' and did the triangle loop before the drizzle started. Nice to go down a track I'd never been along by the stream, a bit of track work here and it could be a very lovely walk! Of course at GZ the cache was in the last of four places I looked ha. Log could use a new plastic bag and inside a bit damp but still very signable. Nice to tick off this one close to home, thanks for the detour
Fast find thanks. (Logged in the book as Cuthbertson Clan, new to this and had just put our family name. Using Blackbeard in future) Cheers.
Nice walk, got distracted eating blackberries along the creek banks on the way. TFTC
I'd researched how to get to this cache before even leaving home so I parked just before the turning area, walked down to the motel and straight on to the riverside path. It was kind of a pleasant walk on a nice day but I was shocked at the amount of rubbish (mostly plastic bags) to be seen hanging from just about every tree along the way. What an eyesore and probably a minor environmental hazzard. Meanwhile at GZ the cache was a quick find in the second place I looked. TFTC.
Had football this afternoon in Wainuiomata at Prouse Park (right next to where I used to live), and grabbed this cache on my way back home to Wellington. *TFTC Grassmouse #206*
Nice night time cache.. followed the north route on pretty much full moon.. tftc
Headed over this way to grab this cache as part of an internet challenge (there's not many D2.0/T1.0 caches around). Parked in Gibbs Crescent and headed down the short walkway. A muggle was approaching from my left but she had a faster stride so she was out of sight by the time I got to GZ. Upon arrival the cache was found in short order and the new log book was a nice welcome (although I see Footsiefat suffered the usual new year malady - I doubted it had been over a year since this was last found ). Replaced and headed back to my car. I think I must have had my timing right as there were multitudes of muggles that suddenly appeared. TFTC
When we lived in Wainiomata, we used to bring our little dog for a walk in this park a couple of times a week, and she always went for a swim in the river. So walking to this cache brought back pleasant memories. The cache was a quick find - the hint helped of course. Thanks for placing a cache here.
#2387. Had the chance today to spend a couple of hours out at Wainuiomata picking up a few solved puzzles and other targeted caches. The weather cooperated so headed down south to find this cache. After a DNF on a puzzle final I needed another one to make up the numbers for today. This was nearby so headed to the park and it was a nice quick find. The logbook was dry. Signed and returned the cache as found. Thanks for hiding it here.
The Sunday of Queen's Birthday weekend dawned cool and clear. My daughter and I decided to try and set a new personal record for our number of finds in a day. Our record prior to today was 9 finds on 30 January 2016. Not a large number compared to some we've seen, but still a worthy goal for us on a Sunday morning. We decided to go over to Wainuiomata. We took the dog and set out!
This was our seventh find for the day. Couldn't see the cache, but did see the pen poking out. Our dog really enjoyed walking along the track beside the stream.
Thank you

Not the best area to do when muggle dog walkers are out and about. Fortunately they were going further away and more interested in their dogs than Selesi & my sneaky endevours. TFTC
A lovely walk in the park to enjoy the autumn colours. Met a couple of muggles with pooches going the other way Quick find with UlmusLynx TFTC
After doing the unusual sport multi nearby we walked down to grab this cache too. It took a bit of hunting in the wrong places! But soon got there correctly! Found on our drive down to visit Kevin Andersons oldest geocache in New Zealand! Thanks for hiding.
What a nice little hidden away park. It might be worth a visit in a couple of years when the recently planted fruit trees bear fruit. The cache was found without trouble tucked away safely in its hidey hole. TFTC
Cache is down for maintenance, hopefully the troll will be back patrolling his kingdom soon
#1564 Found this one after a short stroll from the Rotary Gate on a lovely afternoon. Had the park to myself while I searched and really enjoyed visiting this spot. TFTC- a nice secure hide.
Nice spot - sitting a bit exposed so covered well. with the lack of rain the area looking a bit dry. Tftc
A pleasant wander down the side of the stream. A quick find at GZ. There was water inside the cache container but the log was still usable. TFTC
Kjwx and I initially tried to reach GZ using what looked like the most direct 'drive by' route, but upon arrival we realized another approach. The track we chose was very pretty and quite deserted. Kjwx made the find while I observed from above. TFTC
Ended up here last time I visited Wainui, so it seemed fitting to return tonight with JardisLikeTardis. Back then the geo-dog was a geo-pup and there were several hides in the area.
Easy find just on dusk but the container was wet and the logbook a little damp so we tried them out as best as possible before returning to its hide.

Woohoo our 100th find TFTC

While staying in Wellington I like to make the most of the caching opportunities that present themselves and this morning was no exception.
Soon found closest entry to the park and was concerned about woof muggles hearing me but not a peep was heard either heading to or returning from the cache
thanks for the placement

Nice easy find, the kids loved the clue and were pleased they could solve it. Also like the way it was hidden. Cheers

Last find of the afternoon. Parked just before the motel and walked down the road, through the white gate and along the path by the river. A quick find where I expected it to be TFTC.
First cache of the day and swappable so that made my son happy. Added 3 more goodies to top it up.
Found on my second visit. Much quicker walk from north end. Found with I'macache.
