I cannot see any information that suggests to me that steps have been taken to resolve the issue/s associated with this placement - one or more of the following applies:
- Cache Owner unable to maintain cache
- No response from the cache owner.
- No cache to find or log to sign.
- It has been more than 28 days since the last owner note.
- Cache has been abandoned by cache owner/cache in disrepair
As a result I am archiving this cache to keep from continually showing up in search lists and to also prevent it from blocking other cache placements.
If you wish to repair/replace/make available the cache sometime in the next 28 days, just contact a reviewer (by email and include GC number in cache name) and, assuming it still meets the current guidelines, the reviewer will be happy to unarchive it.
If there are components or remnants of the cache and you haven't already done so, please return to the GZ and collect the cache (or remnants). We don't want to litter our environment with Geotrash.

Wasted my time coming here without looking at old logs. Needs checking or archiving?
We came, we searched, we did not conquer. We add our names to all the DNFs lately. The most recent find is a furphy as it is for a find back in 2013. Annoying, as it looks like a bona fide recent find.
We looked and looked to no avail - after the string of DNFs I think it might have gone to caching heaven...
Tried to find on our Saturday morning caching adventure. No luck today, hope it hasn't been muggled
I am a keen geocacher from NZ hoping to claim a few smileys while I am visiting Melbourne. Thoroughly enjoyed this area, what a great place to put a cache. All good, plenty of room on the log.
Met up with a local who had never heard of Geocaching but is now very keen to give it a go. Unfortunately I didn't realise that this was a Premium only cache, so he will have a bit of trouble finding it if he just joins. TFTC

My first find in nearly 2 months. Guess that's why it took me do long to find it.

Very unique communities have grown up around the old stockyards. My favorite part of this cache was reading the info board. I love the poem about dogs.

Ah nanos. In the quickly fading light I finally got my fingers on this. Log is full. Tftc
Out looking for a container to hide a key in as part of my hubby's birthday treasure hunt - and this teeny tiny nano sure didn't fit the bill!! I usually find these sort easier to find by feel, but this time it was eyes that did the trick! Then had to go back to the car to find a pen to sign the teeny tiny log! No room for extraneous writing implements in this one! Good hide! TFTC
Young Miss Wicm is becoming an expert at these ones!
Arrived in town this morning; this is our first cache outside our home lands. TFTC!

Nearly gave up on this fellow. Checked few metres away and there it was...right next to a classroom window. Hope it doesn't get muggled! Tftc
We did enjoy the challenge of finding this cleverly hidden cache! Required much patience and stealth due to the muggle actvity in the area but it certanly was rewarding when it was found and rehidden!
TFTC RodHelena and bringing us to this new area that was interesting indeed.

I would not have believed this was here, and wouldn't have visited this cool place has it not been for the cache. Tftc
Nice school nearby I am wondering about the function of the Tower with the clock! Tftc
I had decided to have another bash at clearing out caches from my 10km from home circle. My last go at clearing out these caches was way back in July last year. Heading homewards now, there were just a few cache to pick up along the way and this was one of them. Parking nearby was a bit of a challenge, and so was the hunt. I always find it's good to change your prospective on a hunt, but today I picked the wrong direction first. Eventually I picked the other one and the cache was soon signed. I picked this cache up at 2:31pm.
Thanks for the cache RodHelena.

I like that the old buildings have been retained here. It is always interesting to see a glimpse of the past.
I was glad of the hint on this hide, otherwise I am not sure I would have located it.
Thanks for the cache.

I had pretty much given up. Then read the hint again and thought I'd give it one more try. And there - eventually - it was. Thanks RodHelena.
Found on one of my Friday adventures, though it took me a little time. Nobody was around so I did a few moves that would make gymnasts envious, twisting and contorting myself into all kinds of gaps in order to see better, until I extracted the tiny little thing. Not a bad spot, and a nice history lesson to go with it. Cheers again RodHelena!
A short detour to find a few caches on my way to the airport this morning. Got here while it was still quite dark so took a little longer to find than it should have. Had to shine my torch about before I spotted the little thing. And interesting area though. TFTC, Biggles.
Its been a while since I've found a nano - the log sure is tiny. I'm pleased it was a quick find in this historic little spot. Thanks RodHelena.

Thanks for bringing us to this historic site. Loved the way its been left and works in well with the new townhouses. needed the clue. TFTC.
Found whilst on a walk in the area, this was easy to find once I read the clue. Unfortunately the log book is full at the moment. This area is beautiful and I loved reading the information board about the history.
Totally surprised to find this area in the middle of Kensington. Lovely spot that will be remembered and a very sneaky cache.

Strange having stock yards in the middle of town! Great place even in the dark, had fun getting log out! No muggles about tonight. Thanks
A tricky one, it helped to get a new "perspective" in spotting this one. TFTC
What wonderful History is here. Great to look about. Spent much longer than I should have, looking for this one. Fabulous, thanks RodHelena
Nice quick find as an excuse to get our of the traffic for my daily cache. Tftc
Interesting area to visit. Thanks for showcasing somewhere I would never have usually discovered.
#588 - we begun our hunt in the dark and finished even darker - as we lay our hands on the hide all the power in the streets went out! Very eerie indeed! Great hide, awesome to see this part of Melbourne - we always marvel at the brilliant places caching takes us that we wouldn't see otherwise, and this is a perfect example! TFTC RodHelena
Went out hunting with Littlemerpip after a few unsuccessful hunts by myself. Two sets of eyes are a lot better than one and Littlemerpip found this one very quickly. I had been looking in all the wrong places! Signed log. My only comment about this one is that there are plenty of places that a bigger cache could have been hidden around here but great place and a good cache.
Thanks for the cache RodHelena

Out today with kmace trying to find some her "nemesis" caches where she had attempted in the past with no luck and this was another one that I hadn't found either. Parked nearby and walked to GZ where the search started and of course I came up with the cache after about 10 seconds of looking (kmace had spent ages looking previously!), sometimes you just get lucky with looking in the right spot! Thanks to RodHelena for the cache and showing me this nice area.
Some people hate nanos but they are a fact of urban caching, and I would never stopped at the stockyards otherwise. Worth a visit.
First cache for the year. Tried for another nearby which I suspect is muggled. Found this with the help of the hint. I love this area and regularly do street orienteering around here. TFTC.
This little bugger eluded me on boxing day, so I came again on new years day to try again.
2nd time lucky.
Thanks for the hide in this hidden away spot. Cheers.

Out for a really hot afternoon of caching with our good caching buddies the Earthbounds and this one was on our radar. After a previous attempt at this one sucess was to be had in no time with a quick log and on to the next one. TFTC.
Out caching after work on the way to orienteering in the west.
Truely an amazing place. Little sucker was elusive but mine in the end. Sat in the shade and signed the log.

What an absolutely lovely estate, with areas that still preserve the old stockyards that occupied the area.
I was looking for what seemed ages for this one. I must have crossed over the cacahe a few times before finding it. The GPS wasnt getting a fix too well and had me looking on the other fence about 4 metters away which watsed most of my time.
The place was deserted, however I could hear some music and BBQ coming from a nearby house, so was worried that I might be sprung.

Found this around midday today. Didn't pose too may problems finding. Did my best effort to leave my name on log, but these just seem impervious to ones best efforts, so if the CO ever checks, they will see a smudge....
The original designers/builders of these yards I would guess would never have expected for there to be some community vege plots in them.... It is an interesting spot to visit.
Cheers Gordo

This was my second visit - the first one dates back a coupe of years. A quick PAF gave me a better idea this time, and the cache was in hand quickly. TFTC
This cache was a bad start to my caching day that turned out very successfully. I prefer not to look for nanos - though I will at least look for them! This one eluded me today though it was a very interesting area to come and learn about the history. I will be back again.

After spending a lot of time in the Bayside area recently, Burge and I decided it was time to head back around Melbourne's West to pick up some of the newer caches in the area (and some of the older ones we haven't had a chance to get to!). We were targeting traditionals and this was find number 3 for the evening on a night that produced nearly as many DNF's as it did finds!
After 5 DNF's in a row, we were desperate to find this cache. Thankfully the search area was very quiet at this time of night and we were able to have a good look without interruption. After about 10 minutes, Burge had located the clever hiding spot and we quickly signed the log before being on our way.
Thanks for the cache, RodHelena!

Thank you for bringing us to this part of Melbourne history. Didn't even know this was here. Tftc tnln sl
What a great area! I enjoyed the lunchtime walk around here. Always driven past here and never stopped. Just had to be really quiet near the community hall as I searched. Thanks for bringing me here! Cheers!
I hate nanos. But I was passing by so I looked anyway. I spent about 15 minutes looking up, down and all around. Showers passed over and I went for shelter then came back and looked again. Loved the location but I hate nanos. Found an awesome spot within 10 feet of GZ where you could hide a cache much bigger than a nano. Did I mention I hate nano's? Thanks for bringing me here anyway.
I checked it out.
It's still there, was moved a tad so I put it back in it's original spot.

Not a good morning for me apparently... Had a decent look, but did not find. Had to leave for work in the end. Could have dropped on the ground perhaps, or I may have just been looking in the wrong spot.
Lovely location though. Pleased to have been brought here. Thanks RodHelena!

Was in Melbourne visiting family and out on the pushies with almost muggle sister and her other half.
This one was closest to coffee shop where we ended up and was found by muggle brother-in-law.
Considering more recent logs, hope I replaced it correctly and that it's still there.
Thanks for the cache RodHelena

Had a quick look here. Loved the old structures but the muggles put me off so I decided to explore and head to another cache. Love the local area!
grabbed with Paco. really beautiful area which was nice as this cache had us searching for a while tftc
With ProBleMatiKal. Tricky little nano, had us searching for about 5 minutes. Pretty area and great to see the old stable remain to some extent. TFTC.
Great night of caching.in a historical area of Melbourne tftc

In Melbourne today, to help with a house move.
I did a bit of caching in Kensington area with Driftwood Sound before heading home.
It’s a good hide in an interesting historic area which has been preserved considering all the housing around it. Thanks for showing us this great spot.

Sixth and last for the day, on my way back north to get home in time for a roast dinner.
As with many micros, it took longer to get the log back into its container after signing than it did to find the cache.
Another cheeky hide in a wonderfully historic location that was well worth the stop.

06/05 10:45 In town for the Melbourne International Coffee Expo we thought it would be a good chance to find some caches beforehand. This is one of these caches that have brought us to a place that we would have never visited. On approach the was a Wow moment when we rounded the corner to find this historic site.
A great place to explore.
An easy find here today

So what to do in melbourne on a Friday night?? Grab a friend and go caching. RosePT83 who is new to caching joined me for these next few caches. This was a great cache in a wonderful area full of history. Found easily however RosePT83 did ask if it would be haunted??? I hope not as it was very dark now but I could only think of what a ghostly cow would do, possibly not rattle chains. TFTC
2nd of 13 with happy chappies today.
a very interesting place. i have past many times. but have never really stopped.
very quiet around G.Z.
a quick find.

I'd had an attempt at this one quite some time back, unsuccessfully due to cache-blindness and a fairly steady flow-through of muggles. This time I returned with ilovedrwho's cache-eyes, which on this trip proved to be much more insightful than mine!
We weren't quite sure what the hint related to exactly so we took one object each and searched around, with ilovedrwho coming up trumps in the matter of a few seconds. She certainly is good at this!
Great little area here - The bbqs and picnic space make it quite a funky space for a gathering. Kind of looking forward with the family and we can 'corral' the kids in the appropriate pens while the grown-ups enjoy a bbq!

What a transformation this area has undergone since the saleyards closed! Nowadays the cattle would probably not be allowed to move over such uneven surfaces. Lovely spot in the middle of interesting housing.

Found the bugger. Finally found it. Having the torch helped a lot. I've overlooked this several times during the day
Found with !Go! at night. A cute little kitty cat followed us with his collar bell ringing & very happy to be patted & play with us. A muggle was sitting in the park area talking on his mobile & the cat kept running around playing (as it was the bewitching hour - just after sunset) another cat joined in the with the fun so then I was distracted by the 2 cute cats playing around us & the muggle on the phone, but then found the cache by filming with my iPhone. It was quite funny as the muggle on the phone was oblivious to us using our torches looking around, the cat seemed more interested in what we were doing. Thanks for the cache RodHelena & for sharing some fantastic history.
Got to my friend vinnie s place a little early today, so went for a stroll to get some caches local to him! The area around my place is running dry this was nice and straight forward. Tftc!
Made a start on the ones in this area today. Will be back to get some more. Thank you..
Hi I'm Helena's sister & she & her hubby are getting me started so I just want to log that I found this one & it's my first one!!!

Well , this little fellow actually has taken quite a while to find. I spent a good 1/2 hour looking for this one.
I was tempted to give up a few times.
The iPhone had me a good 10 metres out from gz. I spent a considerable amount of time looking on the other side of the path.
Resorting to the hint helped.
Thanks for bringing me here.
My father use to drove cattle and sheep from these yards, all the way up to Finley in NSW back in the 40's.
So it added a bit value to me as well

Interesting neighbourhood, thanks for showing. Had to look around a bit for the cache but eventually. Surprisingly no muggles around or perhaps this is not their natural habitat. Tftc.
Tough little find, only found it as I happened touch it. Cheers RodHelena, and happy Australia Day!
