Nice quick find. Given the CO is no longer active and the current container is not really suited for such a hide we replaced it with a waterproof log inside pill container inside another pil container.Another great Skindo cache bringing us to an area that would be easily overlooked otherwise.
It's December, and to help me achieve one of my Geocaching goals I need to log 300+ caches this month, which means an average of ten a day. I started off well, but had a glitch in the middle which has left me behind on my target. However, I left home a couple of days ago and cached my way up through the Wairarapa to Napier (here for a concert tonight). After two very successful days, I started today with only ten caches left to find to meet my goal. All good here --- Thanks to skindo for placing and maintaining this cache. I enjoy each and every cache I find, and it is only with Geocachers like this creating them and placing them out in the world that this wonderful game continues. [DGSc-Bulk] tagging to help me generate a list for GC30AD8 - DGSc Challenge
Nice spot and a good find. TFTC!!South Australia is the place be for GCA1DNA - MEGA - February 29th, 2024 in Adelaide! Hope to see you at The Great Leap Forward!
A lovely place to be on a sunny summers day. The kids loved searching for the cache. Thank you!
So many caches in the Wairarapa are not compatible with my caching sensibilities so while seeing was was around Featherston I was surprised to see this one in a reserve. A short drive followed by a short walk followed by a short search. A nice little pocket of a bush I wasn't aware of. An eclipse tin in this location is pretty underwhelming and rather out of character for this CO. Looking back at the logs I see it was missing and this is actually a throwdown and not a skindo original. Why do people do that? You can't claim a find on a cache you literally just put there - and who knows if that was the CO's intention?. And putting such a crappy container here rather sullies the CO's good name who otherwise gives us decent caches. Thanks for bringing me to a great location though.
Let’s go, I can’t see it. Oh wait let’s look again. Practice makes perfect, seek and you shell find. The key to this mighty monarch is discovery. What a beautiful totara
Travelling down to Wellington via Cape Palliser for the second week of school holidays. Stayed in Featherston last night. This morning headed out for a bike ride and some caching. Wonderful trees here. Cache all fine. Thanks again Skindo for a smiley.
Headed over the hill today for a long weekend in south Wairarapa. Found just a handful of caches including this one. Very nice reserve here. Had to search thoroughly, it was smaller than I was expecting. Impressive tree! #3990. TFTC.
Never noticed this little reserve before. Beautiful to see the the tōtara trees here. Quick find at GZ. Thanks for bringing me here. TFTC
On a road trip from Wellington we stopped off in Featherston. After lunch at the bakery in Featherston the rain had cleared so we thought we would head out to explore this bush. A short walk to gz where we found the mint tin in the obvious spot.
A short stroll to GZ and we soon had the cache in hand, signed, and placed back in its hiding spot. Thanks for placing a cache here.
Thanks stayed nearby so had to sign this log. With Kiscardi. We are travelling around the north island for two weeks collecting cache. What a wonderful thing to be able to do with my sister.
Thanks to all the CO’s for placing and maintaining cache so that we can find them.

On a road trip with NZ Bozzy , this is our last day in the North Island before heading south.
Main reason was to grab the North Island TMTG caches and some oldies. And also to celebrate a birthday with a 0
TFTC -We stopped in Featherston overnight so just had to pick one cache up before leaving.

FOUND IT but forgot my pen I can’t believe I didn’t find it the first time! TFTC.
Searched the biggest tree at GZ but couldn’t find. I live a 2 minute walk away so I’m determined to find this!
After a long period of lockdown and travel restrictions we are now able to travel between regions. I took this opportunity today to come back over the hill for a return visit to boost my find count for May so that I can finally sign off the now archived 250 finds in every month series. This was helped by completing the Masterton Adventure Lab for an easy ten finds (plus the bonus). In that regard I was successful, with only a couple of DNFs on a couple of archived caches worth recording.
The first physical find of the day - that's certainly a big tree! The cache was a quick find - thank you for replacing the container, InfoFerret. TFTC

Another nice patch of bush and respite from hot dry Wairarapa day. Infoferret had a spare container. Cheers skindo!
Hunted the best candidate for the hint object and a few others nearby but no sign of a cache.
A nice simple find once I waited for the muggles to pass on by. Luckily there was plenty of photo opportunites to keep me occupied while I waited. I didn't even know this reserve existed until today and will have to return another day to check it out properly. Cache in good order and I have dropped off a TB from Geo HQ. TFTC
Visiting nearby Greytown for a family reunion. Staying a couple of nights opposite this bush reserve at Fareham House. Morning walk exploring the gardens then a wander along the dry creek bed brought us over to this reserve. Enjoyed seeing the large mature native trees. Cache quickly located. All good. TFTC and bringing us to this location.
2 ways in to this one, not sure if i took the easy or hard way, have seen this sort of hint before but this time it really fits, tftc
Awesome reserve, thanks for bringing us here! Harvested some Kawakawa fruits while I was at it for making into pepper.
Day 1 - Rimutakas.
The Pylon Series is bagged but with the accident on SH2 the traffic is backed up so lets checkout Featherston.
Lovely bit of native bush to wander through. Quick snag and tag here. Cheers. Some amazing trees through here.
The Seagnoid, Zara and I are on another epic caching adventure for the next two weeks, starting with the Wellington Mega, then East Cape, Taraunga, Waihi, Rotorua and back to Wellington. Its been an awesome journey, over 2500 klms later, visiting many amazing places. Thanks to all COs

A nice little walk in the bush, while waiting for the traffic jam on the Remutaka Hill Road to clear. Parked at the culvert, but the main park is just a minute's extra walk.

Day 1 of my Mega trip (well, I suppose it is day 2 actually, as I arrived in Wellington last night after work). Two weeks of travel with Taybeedragon, from Blenheim to the 2018 mega event, then on to my mum's eightieth birthday in Rotorua via the East Cape and Tauranga and the hole in the ground that is Waihi, Dropped the dragon off in Wellington while I continued on to Motueka for more family time before at last arriving home. We may have only found 230 caches over that 3000 km, but I qualified for 4 badge upgrades, hit the 10,000 cache mark, and even have a missing month ticked off! Throughout most of the trip we targeted special caches - earth caches, virtuals, wherigos, etc, although there were a lot of traditionals too. On the cache maintenance side about eight caches were replaced, and many more logs were added to or replaced. Many thanks to everyone who made this an awesome trip!

I was driving up to Palmerston North and so I broke the journey up by finding caches. Nice reserve. TFTC.
#700. First cache of a short stay in the Wairarapa. GB Leader and I walked to GZ from our rented holiday cottage. Easy find, nice little bush reserve. But, oh dear, the cache has no lid. Before we leave Featherston, I will pop back with a new container. Seems to be a "nest" of mozzies guarding the hide. Tftc Skindo.
I moved my snail shell down from Masterton to Featherston this morning and after lunch I had to go out and get a few caches for my personal challenge.
A nice little bush walk.
Cheers for the cache.

Searched around location for a while with no luck then widened my search a bit, came across container but no lid and very wet log. Didn't have anything on me to fix. Put the remains of cache back where I think it should have come from but needs some maintenance. TFTC
Loved this wee Bush walk and stream....
Was visiting area with walking group.
While they were at a cafe I walked down here...poked round for a very long time at base of tree but no joy...
Hope it is here when I am here next.
Beautiful place to stop when on a road trip.

On a lovely sunny day, dipping our feet in the cool river was a welcome diversion! The cache was a bit damp too though. Still managed to get our squiggles on it.
Boy those totaras are impressive particularly the one nearest the entrance Great to know about them Container had lots of water in Emptied it out and amazingly the log was dry enough to sign even with a clutch type pencil TFTC
Mrs Sobad and her sister keep finding areas of Featherston we certainly never explored when we visited often years ago to see our Nana. This reserve was one of them. Auto routing took us to the Kereru Grove entrance and we walked in until we met the creek. Read the listing fully and backtracked and drove to the all season entrance. A short wander under the trees so it was cool but well worth seeing. No problem to find the cache but we did need to pour water out of it. Tried to leave it slightly higher but still covered.
Thanks.
Thanks.
Thanks for the cache. A great day to drive around the Wairarapa picking up a few caches.
#2503. I have been on leave all week which was a good option as I have been caching away during a long run of dot days. With stunning fine weather forecast, I decided to head over to the Wairarapa to pick up a bunch of caches to get my July numbers up. This is my first visit to this small reserve near Featherston. I was really surprised to find such magnificent grove of forest trees, including the huge totara. The cache was quickly found. Signed the dry logbook and replaced the cache as found. Thanks for showing me yet another hidden gem of the Wairarapa. A favourite awarded for this one.
After retrieving caches on the shoulders of SH2 and SH53 this was a welcome break from the heavy traffic. Peace, quiet and solitude made for a pleasant find. TFTC
Found it with Jubey 01. Had us scratching our heads for a moment or two but got it in the end. TFTC
#287 nice find ! Didn't really wanna put my hand there so made zz6000 do it lol. Tftc
No problem crossing the creek, it as barely there. Wow those are big trees! Searched around and around for the cache but the light was fading and it wasn't until I whipped out my cellphone light that I spotted the well covered container. TFTC
Easy find on a nice day thank you.

Found with Just-Lookin and tmann421 on a sunny day of caching in the Wairarapa. TFTC
Spent the weekend in the Wairararapa collecting caches and finishing on the Sunday with a hike up to Blue Range Hutt from Kiriwhakapapa. Great weather and a great weekend where I teamed up with tmann421 and Princess-Emily. Lots of fun and enjoyed the variety of caches in the area.
Nice quick find and a lovely reserve. Thanks for bringing me here.

#1236 Found during a 24 hour caching raid in the Wairarapa with Nic-jay- seeing how many we could find in 24 hours. After a couple of DNFs in our first handful of caches, we were extra grateful to find this one. What a beautiful spot! Bit on an added adventure crossing the stream too. TFTC.
Found while on a 24 hour caching adventure with Skaga through parts of the Waiarapa. After a couple of disheartening DNFs we were very pleased that this one was where it was meant to be. A bit of an extra with crossing the stream too - my boots did manage to get dry enough to wear again by about 6.30am the following day. TFTC
Went for a ride with Wbond1116 over the incline to Featherston today and got some caches but saved some for another trip
I parked in Titoki Grove and walked through Kereu Grove (that section is not a road as shown by Google maps) to GZ. What an amazingly beautiful area! The cicadas were incredibly loud. I really enjoyed the walk - a favourite point from me. TFTC.
Lovely walk in the bush. When we first went in we went the wrong way. After a bit of course correction we found the cache. Hidden exactly where it was supposed to be.
TFTC!

Had thought we would walk here from the nearby cache, and read in the description that the path through Titoki Grove would be suitable. It was a nice path, but ended up with us on the wrong side of a raging stream that none of us were willing to cross. Since geo-baby had decided it was nap time, we packed up and headed home. Will try again sometime when we head this way in the future.
A spot of Anzac Day caching. Nothing better. This en route to Martinborough. A piece of history and some insight to the past state of the land and flora in this region.
Cache find was straightforward (although we managed to get a tad messy after all the rain), cache in order; log signed, safely re-hidden, just as found.
TFTC found with team cacher Sweet p too
The Turtle strikes again!

Ha, going into the reserver from Underhill Rd had me wondering about GPS coverage, but no problems experienced today. My GPSr took me directly to the GZ. TFTC
Cache is still there ! Name of cache proved more useful that the GPS in terms of finding GZ. There has been some work done in the area, but the cache location was untouched. TFTC !
The Underhill Road entrance is definitely the best one to use wet or dry. Take some time to look at the huge trees. TFTC.
We parked in Kereru Grove and had a poke around a large open grassed area for access. mm, not there. Then we found the correct spot and the little pathway between the two houses. It's been really dry around here for a while so we had no trouble crossing the little stream (which could be a rather raging torrrent at other times I imagine!) It only took a moment to find the cache - good choice for the hide! We took a bit of a stroll round before heading back to the car. Another amazing remnant amongst the houses, it's quite stunning to know it's 350-400 years old! Thanks for the history of the area and details of the various trees and shrubs Skindo, you've certainly given us a huge amount of local info on our NZ trip
