Another day doing the caching rounds. Decided to stick a bit closer to where we are staying today and try to clean this area up.
Hunted up and down the fenceline with no luck. Two devices zeroed out at one area but definitely nothing there. tftc

Soon found, but the grave cannot be seen now, suspedt trees have taken over the site on the hill above the road. Thanks for the cache.
A quick and easy find. Cheers
Easter holidays, and a road trip to Milford Sound. Today we drove from Timaru to Dunedin with lovely weather.
Thanks to all CO's for placing and maintaining their caches. Cheers

I thought I saw the grave as I pulled up and thought it looked more like a water trough. No wonder as that is what it was. Couldn't see any sign of the grave with all the growth on the hill. TFTC # 11,450
Interesting piece of history. Didn't see the grave but too wet to venture up in my unwaterproof shoes today. TFTC bitsprayer
Heading to the Oamaru Geofest so a wee drive around Palmerston to collect a few caches. Found the cache but couldn't see the lone grave. TFTC
Took longer than I thought it would take. Couldn’t see the lone grave. Lovely part of the country. Tftc
Found today while on our way to Palmerston, a bit of a search but found it. Is the grave now the water container?? TFTC
TFTC - Geocaching today with NZ Bozzy around Macraes Flat and Palmerston- quickly found.
And enjoying the area on a beautiful winters day.

Never knew this was here. Another little landmark we would not have visited if not for caching.

A quick park and grab while out about grabbing a few caches for the day. I could not see the lobe grace but with the grass being so high I'm sure it is well hide beneath the grass. Anyway on to the next one. TFTC ?
Didn't see any grave up the hill but found the cache eventually.
Cheers for the cache.
Cheers for the cache.
We didn't see the grave, but I didn't look very hard!! Thanks for the cache Bitsprayer.
Found it, grave appears to be up the hill with a little white picket fence surrounding it.
Found at 2:48:00 p.m. on 3/05/2013.
This cache was found on the day I reached 2000 finds in and around Palmerston, Otago. I biked most of them and then grabbed a couple by car on the way home. Thanks very much for placing your cache.

Like others, couldn't see the grave but did find the cache. Found with Aoraki Sheep.
Enjoying our drive around the back roads heading towards Palmerston. Found with debsnz
Found, nearly got stuck when parking a bit of the road...it looked dry enough haha. Next time im in the area I will go for a little walk up to the grave. TFTC
Parked about 150m away on hard ground. Must be blind but spotted no grave markers.
Located on my trip home to the north after the MEGA - although many detours to the east, west and at times south!

On a day caching trip with ingidayna to Palmerston and surrounds to get 1000 finds. TFTC
A quicker than expected park and grab. Went prepared to climb mountains but my GPS had me to the cache site but a few metres away from the car. Must return to climb that mountain "just beause it's "there".
Found on a day mission to palmerston to get these green boxes, found with wethreefourdices TFTC
As a number of others have commented we managed to find the cache but not the grave today - the area was quite overgrown with all the recent spring/summer growth so didn't feel like treking to find it!

No sign of the grave but I'll know to keep my eyes out next time I'm passing. TFTC.
First of the day. Nice to get another off the closest 50km list.
Last chance for me to get a decent days caching in for probably a wee while so pleased to pick up a few. Found 12/12/11 but app will probably log it on the wrong day.

A short detour to find this. No idea who is here, but possibly a previous property owner who loved the land? Grave isn't visible from teh cache, but you can see it from a bit further NE up the road, on the hill with a white paling fence around it.
A quick find but didn't have time to look for the grave. The verge is a bit soft! TFTC.
Found with Mr B on our run from Dunedin up to Oamaru. Tried but couldn't spot the grave today, we did though spot the cache. Thanks.
Mama has to work today but Granville is visiting from Invercargill so he, Papa and Guwapo packed into the CacheMobile and headed out for a days caching. Enjoyed reading the additional history from Palmyfamily. Salamat!
Great find here is some information I found that I feel is what some have been looking for.

Pre 1848 Settlers of Otago and Southland
William Kenward married Maria Baker from Ewhurst, Sussex, on 24 February 1834 at the parish church of Brede in the County of Sussex. Moved to New Zealand to farm for Jonny Jones and later brought land in Goodwood and built a cottage.Together, William and Maria faced difficult times, great joys and deep sorrows. Little Edwin, the second youngest child, was scalded at the age of three, and his tiny lonely grave is still to be seen from the road on the hillside above the site of the original cottage.

The muggle cyclist I passed on the way to the cache gave me a puzzled look when he passed me at this stop. Would be interesting to learn more about the grave site! TFTC.
It was with a sense of dread that I drove down this road as the memory of my epic find of another cache on this road was still fresh in my mind. However it was a real relief there was nothing worse than a muddy verge to contend with. It would be interesting to learn the history behind this.
Thanks

Will ask around - certainly no information as yet. Yes roadside quite wet and cars don't help.
I was expecting to see a headstone or cross or something but I couldn't see anything. How do you know about it Bitsprayer?
A quick find on our caching trip south this morning. Been along this road a number of times now on caching adventures. TFTC
