Today was my only free caching day during my mid semester break week so I decided that I should visit a place with a nice cluster of caches further than my 10km radius. Took the train down to Hampton and cached around the area on foot before taking the train back to the city from Sandringham. Good caching run today with 20 finds and 1 DNF in 6 hours. Beautiful weather today.
Easy find once you keep your eyes open. Micro caches are much harder to spot. Thankfully I found this one after not too long. TFTC Square_Pegs

#1893 Found on a gorgeous "nearly" spring day. Enjoyed our stroll around the area and couldn't believe it when we actually saw some swimmers (it was warm but not THAT warm ). Dad went in for the retrieve as there was a fellow reading a book nearby. We were expecting The GeoPrincess to want to roll up the pants and go for a paddle but I think even she realised that the water wasn't going to be warm. TNLN thanks for the cache Square_Pegs [^]
6/08/11 11:30 AM Find #401 - Not many cache finds for me today as the ones I had planned to find apart from the first were largely not interesting enough relative to the effort. Maybe I'm just having one of those days? As this was my planned last cache of 12 so I'm pleased I finished here with a great view and location, very peaceful. Thanks for bringing me here. TFTC.
This one took a little time even after staring straight at it.
Thanks Grassi Kids for the clever cache, and the bay looked fantastic with the dark clouds above.
Clever name too

Two women were sitting right at cache site - for ages! However when they finally went I was able to search for it. TFTC
I've been here a few times before, and every time there were muggles around, way too close to search properly. Today, in the company of Alansee, a lunch break gave us enough cover to find this cache! Glad it's off the DNF list now. TFTC
As we walked towards GZ we thought we had identified where the cache would be - wrong, it was well awy from out first guess. We then let our GPS lead the way and we were able to make a quick find in another location, also consistent with the cache name. The beach is obviously very popular with dog owners - we haven't seen such a varied collection of dogs before p all shapes and sizes. TFTC Square Pegs
23-07 1st find of the day at 12:11 and 1326th find in total.
Nice to finally get our first find of the day after a string of DNF...
The rotunda alone was worth a visit but the seating alcoves were pretty cool too.
(''\(OoO)/'') Thanks Square_Pegs for the caching fun!

Found on a late night caching session with Burge. Great little hiding spot. TFTC.
Nice area! Nobody was around at this rainy afternoon so after a quick search the container was in my hand. Thanks from smorp7

It was blowing a gale, starting to drizzle rain and the bay was full of white caps which ensured I was muggle free to find the hide. Thanks for the hide Square_Pegs.

12:32PM Nice spot for a cache. Admired the view for a few minutes before carrying on with our next hunt. TNLN SL TFTC
Third time lucky!
Returned for this cache with my dad this time. He has better eyes than me because he found it! I felt so silly, because it was such a simple spot! I love this cache every much. Thanks for the hide!

After doing some big shopping at a nearby Kayak Store, I thought I might as well grab some nearby caches while I am here.
My geo brother in law and sister told me they had some trouble with this one, so I thaught I should give it a go. I immediately realised where he went wrong. Searching in totally the wrong location. Anyway, arrived at GZ and immediately found the cache, safe and sound.
Thanks again to Square Pegs (grassikids) for the cache.

Found it on our and sandringham caching run. Found relitively quickly. Nice and blowy out on the beach. Thankyou.
Couldn't find it, there were lots of Muggles around, so it was hard to search. TFTC anyway.
I tried for this one with Biggles Bear #1 about 6 months ago, but it had disappeared at that stage. I thought I'd try again today. It was a warm (for this time of year) day and I thought that there might be a lot of muggle traffic, but while there were some muggles at both ends of the beach, there were none to impede my search.
Found the cache after a short search. It is nice to get this one of my list. And on such a great day, it was a very pleasant search and find. Thanks, Grassikids, for an enjoyable experience.

Was in clear view when I reached GZ. Signed log and replaced in same spot, but with a little extra coverage.
What a really peaceful spot. Thanks for bringing me here!

LiamB, the hint refers to the location of the cache when sitting on the seat, not in any way the seat itself.
Had to look really hard as only the small end of the cache is visible between the rocks. Beautiful spot!
Was a tad unsure about the last DNF but cache was found with ease!
No problems, just rather chilly down here today.

10th find of 30 for the day, caching on my own. Made a pretty quick find on this one. It was a matter of an unsuccessful first search, followed by a bit of observation and then the "Ah ha" moment. TFTC and a sneaky hide.

We found this cache today at 8:45pm as the 33rd of 34 on our Elwood and Back Cache Exploration.A nice spot just on sunset but we had to wait for a couple to move before we could search. Luckily "H" soon had the cache in hand. Thanks from D & H & B-A.
I like these suburban micros, we are getting the hang of them. Excellent coordinates. Beautiful beach and indented to come back later in the day when the sun isnt so hot.
2nd and last DNF for the day. I thought I had a good look, but not good enough obviously.
Thanks for bringing me here,

New to the official world of caching but have been involved since 17th of April 2009 (my first cache find). But have only just gotten a log name. Time to log all the wonderful caches that I have been finding since I have been caching with The Empire. My name in the log book is H.
A nice easy day of caching today. And with such good weather.

Find number 13 of 14 today! Now this is a cool place to visit, we had never been here before. These seats almost feel like private booths at the beach, I bet they are popular on a warm summer night. The cache was found after a thorough search of the booth. Thanks again, Grassikids.

We arrived at the Gz, and we think there may have been some other caches nearby, but they left soon after, and we took about 5 minutes to find the clever hide. TFTH...SL...TNLN
Found it just after a group of three had. Not a greatest day weather wise but still had a group of people on the beach.
Yay! The map died on the first try, so back up the hill we went to re-set our maps. Good little hiding spot!!
Suffering from 'far finger syndrome' today made the task a little more challenging.
Found on a day out caching with Robmc who had already claimed this one. Having storms predicted and seeing the rain approaching across the bay, we were surprised to find a couple of ladies sitting on the beach close to the wall/path with their backs to the water (???). Thankfully there was a bit of flora shielding us from their view as I spent a bit of time searching in the wrong patch before finding the cache. TFTC.
Found after a search around the obvious location. Some muggles were busily scupting one of their friends into a giant sand statue a little way away and I had to laugh when I saw the juvenile additions to the body!
Thanks,

Found 16:05, found quite quickly now that the cache has been replaced.
TNLN, CSI=3, thanks to the Grassikids.
TNLN, CSI=3, thanks to the Grassikids.
The night i found the Cache it looked like the local natives had been having a party near GZ.
Cache has been replaced in a slightly different hiding spot - coords remain the same.
Failed to find this one despite a good half hour of searching, and explicit instructions from a previous finder.
Walked past here today and saw the cache was a little more 'exposed' than usual, Grassikids you might need to give this one a check to see what i mean.

Biggles Bear #1 and I were out caching for the afternoon, and this one was on our list. We looked all around, checked out previous logs, but were still unable to find it. We called the Team Crackers help line, and despite their detailed description of where to look, still came up empty handed.
We think that we found where it used to be, so there is a good chance that it has gone. But thanks for placing it anyway.

I have seen this rotunda any number of times but probably never stopped here before. At GZ I checked a number of places before finding the tricky hide with the satellites being good for me today.
Will need to come back for this one. 15 teenage muggles sitting at the beach right next to GZ forced me to postpone my search.
Well im logging a DNF mainly because on arrival @ GZ it looked like someone had been using the seat near GZ as a toilet. Yuk !! [:(!]..
So i decided to give this one a miss To-Nite.

A quick and relatively easy find once you spot the obvious, took a moment to enjoy the views over the bay, before heading to the next cache.
Teriffic hide which i'm sure will have some people scratching their head

Found with Wild Josh this afternoon. Rode down to Sandringham for a few late afternoon caches. Thanks Grassikids.
We finally found this guy. Logged a DNF a while back, and we came back again on the night the hail storm came through - that was really exhilerating, but no cache. Came back today, and can't understand why we couldn't find it the last two times. Great spot for a cache, thanks for the experience(s).
Out for a night cache run. Parked nearby and walked to GZ. Searched for a while until I spotted a likely hiding spot and there it was. TFTC.
Tristan the Travel Turtle Tag (TTQWTC) has come for a flying visit back in time.
I thought it would be a little more under the rotunda than it was.
Took a little while to find with 3 pairs of eyes searching.
So freezing right near the beach! *shivers*
Thanks Grassikids for this cache.

OK I am guilty of not logging caches over the last year or two. Due to 2 operations and rehab it has made it difficult to log caches even though I have been mostly chair bound sitting for short times has been difficult as well.
What I have done is create this log in an attempt to bring our found and DNF's up to date so I can resume my normal habit of stories rather than a TNLN - TFTC.
Most of these logs will not include the owners team name so I think it is appropriate to say a Big Thank the cache owners for their caches and some wonderful memories of caching adventures.
Also thanks to Team Crackers who have made our caching trips so much fun and their help in working out what caches we did and when.
Regards
Mr.Coffee and the "I promise I wont let this happen again after all these coffee's er I mean caches are drunk er I mean logged" Coffee Clan.

We again teamed up with Mr Coffee and most of the clan for another find and feed day. We have driven past this area many times but have never noticed what this building was. After inspecting the rotunda for awhile we followed the GPSr to gz where the well hidden cache was found after a bit of a search. We were very happy for the cold wind today, it kept the muggles away, we can image this being much more difficult in the middle of summer.
Thanks Grassikids for the cache.

Tricky little bugger this one. Then the mantra "think like a cacher" Cache soon in hand. TFTC
Spent a bit of time looking for this one today, but couldn't find it....thanks anyway.
A good hiding spot. I reckon this one will be really tricky when the beach is full of folks!
From the name, we expected it to be in the Rotunda. This proved not to be the case, and we had a nice walk down the hill to the bay. Looked like a nice spot to sit and relax for a while.
Thanks, Robmc.
Thanks, Robmc.
If we were expecting the cache to be under the rotunda then we were wrong, very wrong.
There is nowhere to hide a cache there. There is a better spot some 35m away.
Thanks
