This cache was destroyed during significant maintenance to the high tension power lines in the area. No longer exists.
Didn't find this one but looking at the notes it appears as though it no longer exists
Finally reception... checked previous dnfs and hints... but didn't check this one.
Climbed to the top, then read all the dnfs. Bugger... good view though.

Brand new pylon at GZ no place for a cache. Checked the locality just in case but nothing.
We are having a lovely day trip on Danseys Pass with busy paws. Lunch packed and ready for a big day. This pylon has been redone with new dug up soil and concrete pads.
A quick find today, but not sure how long it will be here. There are signs of work being done on the pylons. Amazing view.

Heading over the pass today for the long weekend. Don’t have time to do all along the road but stopped to get this as my 700th find. Tftc
I started my great and unique round trip over the South Island in Christchurch.
My first major stopover was at Lake Tapeko - here I hiked up to Observation Mountain.
I then planned two days in Mount Cook NP with some unforgettable hikes. My big goal was the Mueller Hut - on a super strenuous hike I reached it.
I continued my journey over the lonely Danseys Pass to Dunedin.
Afterwards I drove along the Southern Scienic Route via Invercargill to Manapouri for some days. On this route I visited many sights and enjoyed the beautiful nature again and again.
I already booked a tour to the Doubtful Sound in advance - another highlight on my tour.
Afterwards I drove on to Queensown and Wanaka. From there I continued over the Haast Pass to the lonely Jackson Bay with storm and heavy rain. Afterwards I drove along the west coast always in pouring rain.
The rain stopped the whole west coast, but I had good rainwear with me. Only high up in Nelson the sun shone again.
Soon I reached the east coast again in Picton and Blenheim and the sun was shining again.
After a few days I travelled back to Christchurch via the beautiful town of Kaikoura.
At the end of my round trip I spent a few more days in Christchurch and its surroundings.
I visited many geological sites and found many caches on my round trip. In Rangiora I visited an event.
I travelled 3418 km and take home a lot of positive experiences.
Thanks to many beautiful caches I was also shown unique locations, historical sites and geological features.
I am overwhelmed by the fantastic and ever changing nature on the South Island of New Zealand - I will definitely come back.
Many thanks to all owners

It was a toss up what to do today... GCG9HV Deep Creek as an unfound date on my Jasmer grid looked like a bit too much on my own, with the possibility of not finding the cache, or Fill a hole in my Fizzy Grid.
Fizzy grid won and I found a local cache unfound for 699 days as a bonus. Then I remembered the Danseys Pass old Virtual and a nearby Earthcache that is another Fizzy grid combo, and so a day's road trip was the plan. This cache was on the way.
And it’s a **stunning day** as well. Beautiful up here, with just a hint of a breeze.
Everything’s good here. TFTC

Boneybruce and I are stranded south of the Rangitata with both bridges closed, so making the best of a bad situation and checking out some back country I've never been through before, but had my eye on for some time. Nice quick cache find here, in the howling gale of a wind - not so bad down by the road, but here fully exposed to it, it was really blowing through. TFTC!!!

Decided to make a trip to Duntroon over the Dansey Pass. Lots of logs to find and sign and this one was one of them. TFTC
#16885. We'd met gadget169 at the previous cache and he'd suggested not trying to drive our Outback to GZ (he'd driven his 4wd there). We're not particularly gung ho dodgy-track wise, and even without gadget169's advice there is no way we'd have attempted it. We enjoyed the short walk to GZ and made a quick find. TFTC.
Found with StreetWalker on a big day, starting in Duntroon at about 8:30am, and finishing in Clyde, via Danseys Pass, nine hours and 62 caches later . A fantastic trip with great views and interesting places.
We parked at the bottom and walked up. Great views and well worth the stop. Best to ignore the hint for this one, but with only 4 corners to choose from, it was in the second place searched. TFTC.

On a caching trip with Kerynz to celebrate our joint 25th wedding anniversary with our respective partners. A double wedding 25 years ago and now we geocache regularly! TFTC GC2CPY3
After a lovely afternoon and evening at Danseys Pass Coach Hotel with Grapea and our other halves we continued along the Pass, taking the longer way home and lots of stops. A stunning spot, incredible views. Tftc
11.50: On the way from Naseby to Fairlie, going over four passes. And we just made the first one: at Danseys again. Two years ago the weather was just too bad for looking for this cache. Today it was and easy but nevertheless exciting job. Views in all directions, but again thick clouds above us: no sun, no blue sky for photos. We recorded an elevation of 920 metres above sealevel for the location of the cache.
Weather: overcast, 17°C;
Wheelchair: no, steep and uneven track, ruts;
State: very good, dry.
Thank you for bringing us up here! A favourite point goes out for this one!

I'm from Norway, escaping the cold winter and travelling around New Zealand for 7 weeks, using geocaching as my tourguide. Today I drove from Glenavy to Dunedin over Danseys Pass. I really really enjoyed this powertrail, the scenery just got more and more spectacular the further I got!! It was a good place to have a powertrail, there were hardly no cars, and the caches were hidden in spots where it was easy to park the car. All the caches were quickly found with good hints, that's the way I like powertrails to be. I only had dnf on two caches, that's because I didn't allow myself to spend time searching if I didn't find it instantly. I would never have known about this pass if it wasn't for all the caches that showed up on the map, so thank you sooo much for placing and maintaining them. I really enjoyed this drive. I'm adding a couple of favourite-points on the caches I liked the most. Thank you for all the caches!
Great views today. Nice quick find which I was pleased about because I always find the buzzing power lines above quite disconcerting. TFTC # 11,498
Geofest Oamaru is over but our (The Seagnoid, Toby, Zara & I) epic adventure continues - Day 4 Danseys Pass - another 'must do'. The weather is drizzly, so its raincoats and gummies for the day.
The Seagnoid was going to take the direct route from pot of gold. But there must be a better way to there. Yes found the service road but its pretty boggy and rutted but no speargrass. A quick find at GZ but no views as the rain has again created a white out - with 150 meters visability. Lets get out of here before I get too wet. Cheers

The Geofest ended yesterday, but Taybeedragon and I are still going strong. It was raining, but not anymore. Rather than get walking or cycling somewhere, we are getting wet driving Dansey's Pass, the slow way.
I initally looked at striding through the tussucklands direct to this cache from Pot of Gold, but then decided if it is hidden at a pylon there is bound to be a service track and it will be:
a) easier walking,
b) much less stabby due to less speargrass and
c) drier. Although, frankly, we are pretty wet already.
Found the service track and no, its not drier. I mean my legs are soaked anyway, and now we have a muddy track. Still, neither of us slipped over. Oh - and look - it's raining again! Visibility 200m.

With a small amount of drizzle we were able to still visit many caches and see areas we have not yet visited, thanks for the placement we have enjoyed each cache and where is has brought us.
Have messaged the CO with answers, now logging to keep th order.
Heading to the Oamaru Geofest with a group of like minded people, and collecting a few caches along the way....

In the area driving to Geofest Oamaru....
Nice quick find. Loved this spot...well worth the slight off roading to get there....
Enjoyed the views on an awesome day through here....also liked the safe parking at each cache location!

We arrived in Dunedin today and traveled to Oamaru for the 2017 Geofest through Ranfurly, Nasbey and Danseys Pass. We attempted many caches throughout the long hot day and as it was the Geofest we bumped into fellow geocachers as well as a few muggles along the way. We were travelling with Keylev, UncleSam, Stik-a-Crane so to save log paper signed as Team SEAC 17.
Thanks to all the COs for the caches along the route.

With Gap (of Fap and Gap)… Our journey to the bottom of the South Island has been almost two years in the planning. We were determined to make it to Oamaru Geofest. We decided to also factor in completing a couple of missions (JASMER and Virtual challenges), and the wheels started turning...
Day Three: Arrowtown-Haast-Naseby
We were determined to get as far along the Danseys Pass Road before turning back to Naseby. This 'dirt track' was scary if you allowed yourself to dwell on it. I would hate to cross here in winter or bad weather. But obviously many have made this trip and survived. A small hike to reach this one... TFTC.

Planned a bit of a trip up Dansey's from Ranfurly to get a few caches. But halfway up decided to go all the way over and back via the Pigroot. Unfortunately I was unprepared and hadn't stored all the caches along the route. I also didn't have the GPSr/phone charger. Many were therefore missed but this one wasn't and a great day was had. Thanks to the COs.
Very windy at the top today but I think it probably counts as a god weathet day. I enjoyed the stroll up the hill. Gets a FP from me.

Drove down from Wanaka. Mainly because of the virtual. And then went over the pass. Nice little trail here. I didn't have to much energy, so a didn't search for to long on some caches, that's why some didn't got logged today. Thank you for all the caches. And sorry for the copy and paste logs.
Found on Labour Weekend expedition over Dansey's Pass. Although it wasn't sunny the weather was mild and still and the scenery stunning.
The views from here were wonderful. Everything was so green which seemed strange in this part of the world.

TregearP, Kanga & Bear and I grabbed this one during a brief stop at the top of the pass after staying two nights at the Inn lower down. The morning was still, great autumn light and the views were stunning.

Road tripping around the Maniototo and SJT_NZ & Tregearp are premium members so missing out on a few caches. Enjoyed the cache thanks.
The second weekend of planned caching trips for Chelzea and I. This one started caching near Temuka and then on down to Timaru, Oamaru over Danseys Pass and then back to ChCh from Palmerston the next day. Long and winding trip in places but managed a good number of caches with only a few DNF's. Too many to remember in detail so sorry for the cut and paste logs but thanks to all the owners it was a great two days of searching new places for a good variety of caches.
Bit of a huff and puff but got there in the end.

We've been thinking about this trip for a while. Having driven over the pass several times and noting the difficulty of parking at several caches we decided to do them by bike with Pukerau Duo and another couple. A return trip, caching on the up hill and blasting the down hills in each direction. 64km and 1,000m of climb later we got all bar two of them.
Many thanks for a great day out.

Sunnroller and I were out doing the Westward Ho! series when this one popped up on the radar and it would have been rude not to do it. So we signed it off.
Cheers for the cache.

What a Mega Mission for a group of Hamilton Over Achievers! A great trip, a long time in the planning. I teamed up with Cats&Dragons and HKCB to grab a couple of caches while in Christchurch and surrounding areas for the 2015 Mega Event. We flew out from Auckland on Friday night and traveled to Dunedin in the dark of the night. Stopped for a few hours sleep before setting off to grab caches in the Otago area on Saturday before attempting a few more on Sunday and then arriving at the Mega on the Monday. An amazing, yet crazy road trip
Nice find here, thanks for the placement.

Headed down south with C&D and 11HPG11 for the CHCH Mega as part of the HOAC team, and decided that a Mega road trip/Mega Mission was the right thing to do. We landed in CHCH late Friday night and after picking up the rental car we bee-lined it straight to Dunedin to grab a few hours sleep before the mission truly started.
The goal for today was to locate a certain few geocaches which help for certain challenges that we are all currently working on, and to explore some pretty cool country, before getting to tomorrows starting point in Omarama. We thoroughly enjoyed this day of the mission and saw some pretty awesome places, and managed to achieve most of what we wanted. A big thanks to everyone for placing all the caches, and I apologize in advance for the copy and past logs!
Back on track after a bit of a detour and with enough gas this time to get over Dansey's Pass. This was a awesome road to drive, unfortunately I had to concentrate on the road more the than awesome views. We had big plans to complete the full trail over the pass, but had to stop after about 20 caches in as we were running out of time. So will be happy to come back and complete. Thanks for the trail.
A nice slog up the hill to the cache, thanks for the hide.

This was the start of a MEGA caching weekend in the company of good caching friends. In the company of both HKCB & 11HPG11 this was going to be another memorable caching road trip for many reasons.
After driving down from Christchurch last night, sleeping in the car in Dunedin , and getting a good early start this is the practice day for the planned mission for tomorrow , thats not to say we are not taking the day seriously, but there were roads to travel, views to see (so unlike what we were used to in the Waikato) and of course caches to grab.
All in all it was going to be a big day with a number of challenges, great sceanery, and of course great company. Fantastic driving along and up here as the landscape was so different from what we are used to back in the Waikato. One good thing about backroads being that we could continue our neferious activites without being disturbed by muggles.
Having left Sutton Salt Lake behind and now Ranfurly we were continuing our journey.
Back at Naseby we were winding down the day and making our way across Danseys Pass heading for our night stop some distance away.
Nice quick find here without any issues .
thanks for the placement , thanks for the cache

Finally a Danseys Pass cache with plenty of parking room! We were heading home after a trip to Naseby and the Dansey Pass Hotel for the weekend. A lovely weekend (first child-free weekend away in over 15 years). As is typical for me I got a jab in the knee from a Spaniard almost immediately then slogged up through tussock and patches of snow. Quickly found and signed the cache then equally quickly found the 4WD track back down
Find four of eleven today, and twenty for the weekend. TFTC

Brr it was very windy, cold and wet up here as Granville86a and I raced up to logg the find and get back to the car.
Found with Chosen1978. Boy did the wind get up as we got closer to GZ. Very cold up here but cache soon located and the down the hill out of the wind. TFTC
6th of the evening. Decided to come a little bit further an grab the cluster of three that started with this one. But what, have to walk!? Tftc. The lines were fair humming and crackling.
Of course I didn't see the track & ended up climbing up from the north only to find it was the wrong pylon. Oh well I burnt off the fabulous tea and brekky I had at the Danseys Pass Hotel!
Great find and second for day on our way over the Pass from Naseby. Lucky there was little traffic as road was dodgy in places.

Came through here six months ago and the fog was so thick I didn't feel inclined to head up the hill to look for this. Beautiful clear sky today however and a quick find. TFTC.
Short walk up to GZ, great view, pity the pylons get into the picture. Took a few photos anyway.
Found on our Invercargill to Christchurch road trip. Thanks to all the cache owners who have put out some great caches in some great locations, we enjoyed our trip and enjoyed many of the places we found ourselves. SL TFTC.

13282… Great views from the pylons, managed to avoid those prickly Spaniards too, TFTC.
It turns out that going up the road is quicker than the straight line - too much dodging spaniards! Out and about with Karma Reprint on a weekend down south. Thanks
Found with Kiwi Moose on a big weekend of caching. Nice big marker post! Thanks for the hide.
Slipped and slid up to the cache on patches of snow.Good view of the Danseys road.TFTC
Could hear the buzzing of the pylon while we signed the log. Found with Aoraki Sheep and Woody104

The wind was fierce and it was getting late in the day so it wasn't very pleasant out in the fresh air. The two dakotacats ran most of the way up and back down, the fluffyducks walked briskly! It was the junior member who found the cache - she sprinted ahead at the last minute! Thanks for the cache trekker107.
Parked up the 4x4 on the main road and walked up to the pylon. In hindsight I should have driven there as the track was suitable for any 4x4. The wind was bracing but the view superb.
Quick grab...final caching day for 2012 going for a record finds in 12 hours for my personal best..having a blast! Havent been over the Danseys in 20 years!

Went straight up from the pot of gold only to find a far more accessible track for the return trip. Great views from up here but pretty breezy. We weren't the first visitors up here today but we will probably be the last for 2013. TFTC

Found as part of an epic NZ Mega Event trip. Day 6 - Dunedin to Oamaru via Ranfurly and Dansey's Pass with agcnz, -gonefishing- and Yeetrees. It was a very enjoyable drive over Danseys pass which I had never done before. I was glad to have had the advantage of being a passenger so I could fully take in the stunning scenery.
Thanks to the owners of the 500 + caches which I had the pleasure to find along the way and which contributed to a very fun trip.
