WA Big Trip Winter 2024. Day 11 - Port Lincoln Day. The day started with caches around the town area and a bit of shopping. I also managed to do the Statue Labs whilst having a walk along the fore shore area. With all the chores out of the way, I started following the coast to the south towards Tulka following a nice walking trail and ending up at the gates of the National park. This gave me plenty of free time in the afternoon to catch up on logging. One more New county tomorrow as I head to Ellistion, although there do not seem to be as many caches on the west coast of the Eyre Peninsula.I did a run of caches along the coast here down to the entrance to the national park. Quite a variety, some harder than others. but all found without any problems. Thanks for the cache kim rose46652.22 TNLNVisited: World Traveling Gold GC A#6 & 2018 25000 Finds A#379**Albida**
Staying in Port Lincoln for 3 nights. Now to get a mix of sightseeing and caching
Ocw the Bebes as we visit PL. came back today to finish off this little trail of caches. Tftc
OCW PelDroedGwin Continuing the walk along the Investigator Trail that we started yesterday. Much calmer weather today.A scenic spot at GZ. Tftc
Sister in Law and I took our subway sandwiches for a drive and came this way. Only looking for regulars or large/old caches and this met that criteria.
Thank you for placing this for us to find. Thank you for contributing to the geo map and maintaining when required. TFTC

After some bush bashing we finally found this interesting area. No time for fishing today. TFTC
Another cache found with richlink.
We parked on the side of the road and walked down the track to GZ. TFTC.
We have enjoyed travelling The Eyre Peninsula with richlink using Geocahing as our guide. We have seen many interesting towns and locations along the way. Thank you so much to the CO’s who have placed and maintained caches for the enjoyment of all.

So many on the Peninsular ! Out on trusty treadles aka the MTB exploring the trail and sights. Finally in Port Lincoln with time ahead to stop in this lovely well kept historic town. Day 17 in SA after numerous trips were sabotaged due to you know what and its a fab day. The Ikera- Flinders Ranges, Whyalla, Port Lincoln and a few in between caches are high on the list along with several other random caches so hoping to tick all boxes before heading back to home base. I’ve learnt theRE are plenty of quality SA caches - plenty to pique the curiosity and anticipation of another surprise or fun cache. TFTC AND THE FUN and the effort to contribute to this fave game.
with geosister H423L picked up the TB to take to Tassie

Unfortunately I had to go to Port Lincoln today to attend a funeral. Fortunately I had a short window to grab some caches and drop a TB off to continue its journey after being interred in Black Hill Conservation Park for some time. All caches, including this one, were found quickly and were in good condition. TFTC.
On our way back from Memory Cove with ilook4geo we also wanted to pick up some of the caches available around the area. This was one that we found quite easily and both names were soon added to the log. Thanks go to kim rose for placing this cache.
Out for some caching with goingplaces2 in the Lincoln National Park area and back towards Port Lincoln. This was a nice easy find and both names were soon added to the log. TFTC.
Well it’s 2021 and I have finally said good bye to a not so great 2020 and it was great to finally be able to have a reasonable holiday as I have not had a decent break since 2019.
Made to South Australia and finally crossing the boarder and then being greeted by a couple of very friendly SA police offices for which i had the official paper work to allow me to enter.
After making my way west along the Eyre Hwy I went as far as Penong and the Eyre Hwy which I have not travelled along since the late 70’s when I was on a holiday with my folks and this was the last holiday before I started full time work as a sparkie and finding a few caches as I go.
Geocaching when towing a van is not always easy and I have to be a bit selective on which ones I decide to try and find for safe parking purposes especially along busy highways.
So after leaving Coffin Bay my next destination is Port Lincoln which is down the bottom of Eyre Peninsular off the Flinders Hwy.
I’m hoping for better weather soon I don’t mind it being cool just not rain showers when you are out and about.
Another new day in Port Lincoln and it is time to relocate the van and head down to the National Park so I got up early packed up and headed off.
So after setting up the van at Surfleet Campground it was time to explore the South West area and the weather is finally looking good.
Had to back track a bit to get to this one as it was easier with out the van.
There are some great spots to pull over and check out and I guess one day I should take up fishing.
A easy find with good coords.
Thanks kim rose TFTC.

During our new years break, [@jesswrigley](http://coord.info/PRNW59T) and I headed to the Eyre Peninsula to travel around the various coastal towns. We started the trip with Jeep trouble, but then continued in our alternative vehicle without 4WD to stick to the main tourist roads where possible. We travelled south-west to Tumby Bay and Port Lincoln via Whyalla, Cowell, Cleve, Arno Bay; west across to Coffin Bay; and then north-west to Streaky Bay and Ceduna via Elliston, and Venus Bay. We then headed back east staying in Kimba via Poochera, Wudinna, Lock, and Darke Peak.
Today, [@jesswrigley](http://coord.info/PRNW59T) and I spent the day around Port Lincoln. We spent the morning seeing the town and marina, and then headed south travelling past Port Lincoln National Park to check out Whalers Way. It was still a little cold and nippy with the wind about, but otherwise a sunny day.
We followed the nice geotrail down to the cliffs, and made the cache find reasonably quickly. It was nice to have found this good sized cache, and the cache container and logbook were in good shape. However, it looks like the lid is showing signs of cracks since people have probably been putting heavy rocks on top, thereby stressing the container. Thanks kim rose for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.
Note that this geocache was logged with the *Team Warren* Davidwazza/jesswrigley stamp.

Pulled up on the highway and made the short walk into this one, cache was easily found and is all good
After having car issues over the weekend it prolonged my stay here and with Davidwazza returning home this morning I decided to head out and clean up the remains I had left in the area. A half day out and nothing but blue faces left on my map with the rest being turned into finds. Another day of 35finds
Thanks for the cache

Day 4
After a over night stay in Port Lincoln park. I came and got the last 2 caches unfound in the park on the way out before heading off to the information center for the key to memory cove which is where i am spending tomorrow night. The rain stopped over night so it was just windy the next day. I now have the key and heading out of town again. quick find.

Travelling Australia since March 2014 it has been a while since in SA but enjoying this visit greatly.
Visiting Port Lincoln we decided to spend the day in Lincoln NP exploring. All was going well until Mr Felix took a tumble and hurt his back, so we aborted our mission and will have to return another time.

Nice spot here. Too late to go fishing, but would be a good place for it. Nice hide. TFTC
Another day of Eyre caching with Purrfect Di, Sebastbat and Jack.
We went for a drive near Pt Lincoln and found all sorts today. This was one...
A grumpy shingleback was guarding the cache here! Great spot.

Hi there kim rose.
We found your cache **"Fishey Squid"** at 12:54:00 PM today. (This makes our find count 15766).
We cached around the Port Lincoln area today. On our trek we found a wide variety of container types. & ended up finding 5 caches with 1 DNF's.
Thanks for placing this cache here, without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places on our travels.
###Thanks for not placing an eclipse tin or a 200ml Sistema here. Once upon a time caches seemed to be "regular" sized, and well stocked with goodies for kids to swap. Nowadays it seems like every other cache is small and devoid anything to induce children to enjoy the hunt. It made us feel really good to find this cache in a "special" place.###
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found the cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** A Smiley Badge.
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny.

beautiful afternoon. Found on our way back in from Mikkira looking for koalas
Day eleven of my holidays, just caching around the outskirts of Point Lincoln. There were some wins and some losses, but generally wins. The wins were generally easy, and the losses, well, too hard for me to find. Even though there was still plenty of time left in the afternoon, this cache was my 30th for the day, and I decided to take a break and call it a day. Nice spot for a cache.
My thanks to kim rose for the cache.

I ended up parked outside somebody's new holiday home and took a stroll down to the water's edge.
The house is visible on Googy Maps, but the is missing from 'street view', so it hasn't been there long !!
Nobody home though today and all the blinds were drawn [^]
Getting to GZ was a scratchy affair though !!
But I made it and soon found the cache
Then I enjoyed a few quiet moments while sitting on a rock enjoying the views

A fighter plane flew over us twice at this location. It was so low we could see the pilot and extremely noisy. Instead of finding the cache we thought for a moment that perhaps we should be looking for a bomb shelter instead!!
When we ascertained that it had finally left the area a quick find was then made in a top spot.
Thanks.

We are camping at Louth Bay & have chosen to do a day of caching in Port Lincoln.
It was a mixed day of caching, some finds & a couple of DNFs. Noticed Ministro commented on a few.

Found the track to safely turn off what seemed to be a remarkably busy road today. Today's purpose was caching, so no fish or squid for us.
Thanks kim rose.
Thanks kim rose.
Brought my Yamaha down especially for these hard to reach caches as I'm not real good at this new fangled 'walking' thing. A nice area for a picnic and rest under a nearby tree.
It was nice to get down to the waters edge on such a lovely afternoon. These are amongst my favourite types of cache hiding areas.
Thanks kim rose
