After a treasure hunt led me into Tighes Hill, and failing to find GC371Z4 Tighes Terrace.
Looked to see what other ones were around. I saw this one in my GPS so though I'd find it.
Nice area and ruins. Saw gold container very quickly. Also saw lots of nice thick spiderwebs around it.
Used a stick to scrape the container closer, so I didn't have to disturb the webs too much.
Opened to find very wet and only a scrap of cardbord inside. I could faintly read text on the container "geocache".
I remembered I had put in a bunch of archived caches in my GPS, this must have been one of them.
Squeezed out as much water as I could out of the cardboard, and softly signed it. and dropped it in the letterbox.
This area seems quite nice for walking and bike riding, too bad the container wasn't water proof.
Thanks for bringing me out here, very interesting!

Had a look for this one, despite it's being archived and found the container filled with soil. So Chris grabbed a piece of cardboard nearby and signed that, then we re-hid it.

Pat and I were sifting through archived caches thanks to Crew 153 and we came accross this one. It had an extra thrill to normal caching because it was like ancient history. We located the lunchbox and wrote our names on some cardboard and placed it inside. Inside, it has been filled with sediment and now home to many insects.
Found together with my Family and Barney&Betty and Mrs OncleGrog, lots and lots of mozzies. Probably better this is archived now. TFTC greeneyedalikat.
We found the remains of this cache here after a nice walk over the boardwalk in the swamp. It looked and sounded like a nice place to discover, but the concret block were not that exciting after all and the moszzies were crazy. Log was not possible to sign but took a picture of the remains. TFTC greeneyedalikat.
No response from owner. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the near future (next 30 days), just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the current guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.
The cache appears to be in need of owner intervention. I'm temporarily disabling it, to give the owner an opportunity to check on the cache, and take whatever action is necessary. Please respond to this situation in a timely manner (i.e., within 30 days) to prevent the cache from being archived for non-responsiveness. If you require more time please be sure to post a note (not an email) explaining the situation and how much more time you require.
Cache is in a very bad state and in a flood prone location. Owner hasn't logged in for a long time.
Found at 12.35pm GAFF5 in the company of Robmc. Interesting spot! Looks like all the rubbish gets trapped here when it floods. Lots of flying fox noises and also lots of golden orb webs.
Feedback: Cache lets in water and log book is totally saturated.

Didn't see lots of animals but Pprass did say hello to a few spiders face-first!
I think a CITO event would keep a few busy around here for a while.
Log is damp, perhaps it should be moved a bit higher?
Thanks, Robmc.

Yup, what can you say.
Well I like the cache it's another smilie and I don't really need a view at GZ.
but I did laugh at the previous logs. Hilarious.
Log is totalled saturated, like the rest of this joint.
Thanks for placing this cache, cheers GUIO

Did this one with noodles while riding our bikes throughout newcastle.
Had a good laugh when noodles fell into the swamp off his bike with cleets. Opps, hence the no bike sign at the start.

This one is completely water logged so we couldn't sign. Sadly so much rubbish around here. TFTC.
An interesting place. Many mosquitoes. Couldn't log because it was so soaked. Needs urgent maintenance.Left a Chinese coin.
Monstered by mozzies, finally found it, can't sign log, too wet, checked out boardwalk, TFTC!!
Unbelievable the places you find yourself in getting a cache. Awesome! If you got this spot for clean up Australia you'd take forever to make a difference. TFTC greeneyedalikat.
Went for a stroll along the board walk and saw heaps of little crabs. After a while we decided to go and actually find the cache as we were heading in the wrong direction! Nice easy find. Great location. TFTC.
I didnt get where the hint comes into play however he who dares to venture gets rewarded!! Fantastic spot!
TFTC easy find. signed the log and placed back in it hidy hole after enduring so many mossie bites [:p]
[:0] show cache on mud around... lucky cache very well but full wet inside of cache also log note too.. need new one ASAP..... thanks
Walked to the cache from the south. I took the very interesting boardwalk. So many corners. Coords spot on for me.
Very quick find once I ignored the gps

Found during my second attempt at this cache. I didnt find the hint useful or accurate - then again Im not a lateral thinker.
Hi,
me and some of my friends went looking for this cache and couldn't find it and we looked in all the likely places so I was wondering, due to recent flooding has it been washed away?? Do you think you could check??

There is a lot of water in the box, container needs to be replaced with something more water tight.
I walked the board walk (instinctively) them my unit told me to do a uturn. I obeyed. It was a bit squelchy underfoot but found the structure and then the cache. managed to lose only a few mills of blood in the process. Still no signs of encephalitis at the time of writing.
Our 4901st overall find.
Shell and I found this one on our way to the 2010 Cache of the Year awards. Shell had tried for it previously but was unable to start a really good search. Today it was a nice quick find.

Found early morning just on dawn and mozzies absolutely ate me alive. Never knew about the boardwalk close by. TNLN. TFTC
Perseverance in the face of persistent mossies paid of with Novice1 nailing the find.
Headed into the mangroves and found it quickly. its like the mozzies where breding on the cache when it move it look out the mozzies doubled sl tftc tnln
Took a walk along the mangrove boardwalk and then returned to GZ. Yuck!! Mosquitoes galore!! Quick get out of here. SL in record time! Ran back to the car. Followed by a mozzie!! TFTC Cheers.......Gaztek
Parked the car within only metres from the cache. Headed into the mangroves and found it quickly. The hardest part was fighting off the mozzies while i signed the log. I don't think i have seen so many mozzies in one area before.

Reperio at 1230. Parked roadside only 30m from the cache, and wasn't sure how far into the scrub/swamp I would have to go, but turned out it wasn't too far, and the cache was quickly found. Spotted a couple of muggles out on the boardwalk, which looks a nice walk, so will have return to check it out.

Took Mrs bshwckr out for the day and we found this on the way to Newy. Had to beat off the mozzies but glad we came. Didn't know about the boardwalk. Thanks.
Nice hide. Nice walk through mangroves boardwalk. Went to exit hide location and a trucker pulled up with his rig right there. Had to stay in mangroves for a little till he disappeared. Good fun. Thanks.
Oh it is there alright...a little on the nose today didn't stay to long and left TB..well covered

Could have been muggled as there are plenty of toys washed into the mud. Please for the owner to cheak.
Why o why did we do this????...Arrived at GZ and found the co-ords led us into the swamp. What to do? Mr Morgan entered the swamp armed with Bushman spray and a big stick (we left our new trekking poles at home). After poking around in rubbish and mud the cache was at hand. We opened the container on dry land and found it full of glitter...great It's getting better by the minute.
We replaced the plastic bag, cleaned out most of the glitter and then reentered the swamp, via a different spider and mosquito infested route.
As we drove away we started to laugh...that was fun. That's why we did it....FUN
Very weird what cachers consider fun. TFTC SL

This was our first cache, very exciting. The mangroves coupled with several drinks made us feel very Indiana Jones. Wear good footwear...
Found after looking at the hint, wanted to get out cause of the mozzies and spiders! SL T4TC
Found every thing from bottle tops to plastic bags and eventually found a cache.
So SL and got out before being eaten.

Searched a little bit at night but too many spiders and not enough torch light. We'll be back though.
#2 find great little geo this one... Even better when I bought Jimmy jam along later that night and watched her do it in the dark:) NO LONGER BYOP! yes I left my purple pen there so use it well and only tale it as a gift if you have a pencil to put in there
Pretty dark in there on dusk. Had to go back to the Geomobile to collect the torch. No sign of Shrek today. Thanks
Caching run with fitzy_1965.
I was scouting around while fitzy found the cache and brought a friend back with him, and here I was thinking he was taking me out for a nice seafood dinner - the "plastic crab" now lives in his car after him throwing it at me and me doing the normal girly 'scream' thing!!

We decided to attempt this cache before visiting some friends in Carrington.
We followed a geo-path virtually to GZ. We found the cache without any dramas, left a TB, signed the log and went on our way.

The highlight of this cache was truly M-Dogg's unfortunate run in with a crab, but besides that, a fun cache in an interesting area. Scary crustaceans aside...
Found this cache on a lovely sunny Sunday morning. The GPS was bouncing around a fair bit and this was not really a very pleasant area to be in with all the rubbish around. We searched in a few different places before ending up back where we started and eventually found the cache. TNLNSL TFTC
when the gps decided to play ball the cache was soon in hand. not so easy to find given that its bright orange!!! it was well hidden

Hi I an replacing the cache container with a sturdier replacement. The new cache will be a slightly larger orange tupperware container.
Found quickly this morning after the rain had eased. And no wet feet!

I checked the site for new listings at 4.50pm monday in the hope there would be something to go for on the way home but there was nothing new then when I got home there where three new caches published just minutes after I checked, two of which I could have grabbed on the way home easily.
Anyway the oportunity didn't aris to go back out and grab them so I desided to look for this one on the way back to work in the morning, hoping the rain may have kept everyone else away but it didn't keep Subi-two away.
I like this spot, well worth the walk along the boardwalk if tyou time too. The cache was easy to find but I'm not sure that container will stand the test of time in that environment.
Thanks.

Unfortunately, the lid to this cache is already damaged.
Maybe someone can take some tape, or the owner can replace container with something more robust.

I decided a small detour for a hunt on the way to work was do-able this morning. I arrived at GZ between showers and the hunt was short and sweet. The tide was out so my feet stayed dry. TFTC greeneyedalikat. [C 651, FTF 40]
