Am archiving this cache as the jetty has not yet been repaired following the earthquake.
Thanks for those who enjoyed the spot - hopefully it will be enjoyed again in the future.

Haven't seen any action on this cache, or recent feedback from the owner on the cache page. So asking that it be archived permanently. Cheers Gav
Any update on the status of this cache? If the jetty doesn't appear to be being repaired in a hurry, then this cache should probably be archived, and a new one placed once the jetty is fully repaired. Cheers Gav
Extensive search yielded no cache. Access to cache had suffered some quake damage.
The quake has taken this one, and part of the jetty too. We will wait to see if / when it is rebuilt and then may resurrect.
Pretty sure it is in the estury and just the hook remains
Jetty is quite damaged in places so may be taken out of use while it is repaired

This cache reminded me that one of the waypoints for a previous cache of mine was within 5m of this GZ. TNL a signature. Thanks for the cache.
Had no pen/pencil with us. But a nice cache to start again after not doing geocaching for a while. Interesting location and tiny cache!
Found with badjelly on a chilly day. Missed it the first few looks but found it after turning my head a little more.
Blue sky, minimal wind - but for how long. Tide quite high, muddy water... and some Muggles & mini-Muggles started to approach as I tried to quickly replace the log then the cache.
Phew! TFTC, very cute.

A couple of muggles were exiting as I came in and so I had the place to myself. The tide was high but with care it was soon in hand. Thanks. Hatas
I had to make two trips here as I didnt have a pen the first time, the second trip I saw a Kingfisher.
I didnt even know this jetty was here.
Cheers and thanks,
S.t.

Out with Wahine for a little late lunch searching. No problems but the wind was fair whistling and the tide was high. TFTC
Given the tide was high, the wind freezing and the water v murkey, I was on my knees fair praying the mini mermaid I was out caching with wouldn't fall in! Clever spot in a stunning part of our city. TFTC
(469) Another nice cache, this one took me a little time to locate.. Lucky for me no one else about.. Wonder if Countdown knows they are missing another shopping trolley.. TFTC, SL.
TFTC - very interesting location. Had to disturb some cormorants that were sitting at the end. Several more in water fishing. You're right on a good fishing spot and one I've never been to before.
3362. Went out late afternoon to see if we could get our one cache for the day! We had to sit and wait in the car for quite a while as there were three teenage fishermen using the area around the cache. They had obviously been there long enough as there was more rough and tumble going on than actual fishing! Eventually they decided that enough was enough and made their way out of the area. It was a quick find and a fun cache.
Thanks

Nicely done. Use to come here fishing as a kid many years ago.
Thanks for bringing me back.

We especially enjoyed this cache because we met Haldane and womble-bbt. (Now the BBT means something to us- note the capitals!!!) A wonderful chat with the tide coming in and time going out. Some more caches to try and stories to tell. Let's hope we meet again. Thank you.
You just never know who you will meet at a Cache Site.We could see someone sitting there, but were hoping they would leave. But they didn't,and thats when we had the pleasure of meeting Mrs Haldane. While chatting to her another couple walked up to us and we both met Mr & Mrs Warbut. Mrs H found it,and the rest of us signed it,and Warbut replaced it carefully.Stories were told with much laughter, and an hour later we all departed. It was great meeting a couple of names we have seen in Log Books.Maybe our paths will X again sometime.TFTC.
Another sunny day and lots of geocachers were out and about making up for lost time after all the wet weather. Nice to meet Womble BT and Warbut at the GZ-could have had quite a party down there. Had a lovely long chat about various caches we have come across or not come across. Wonder where our paths will cross again...... Pretty scary retrieving the cache with a cool wind blowing and fingers not as nimble as they used to be! TFTC
A popular spot even on a weekday. It was the first sunny day for a while. We would have had to flounder if we had dropped the cache.TFTC
My FTF. An easy find on a cold, wet Christchurch day. No muggles, only this madman with his GPS.

It was a wet and wild winter's day when B&B came back from Hanmer Springs only to find A NEW GEOCACHE WAS OUT! We raced out to the jetty which was nearly under water and retrieved the wee container.
Well done to Kiwi Kev who beat us to the first to find - but we were close behind!
We then scurried home to the warmth of the fire to dry off. TFTC - and don't forget to bring your pen!
