Lots of large hint objects, with lots of small hint objects, but we left no stone unturned in pursuit. No luck for us today.
Had to rub some dirt on my face and go stealth as a family was picnicking just off the carpark. Took the time and got it though without arousing suspicion. Tftc
Two visits over 2 consequtive days - no joy . The 'big tree with stone at GL' (miro?) was searched for a cache with stone on top of, but alas...
2.30pm. Heaps of muggles around as a carnavil came to it's close. But no one at GZ. Easy find. Thank you. David.
Carnival was in full swing when I got there, not being a local I didn't know about it till I arrived, and at the stage I was there it just wasn't wise for a guy on his own to lurk around the bushes while numerous kiddies and their adults were swarming around not far away and occasionally using the walkway. Took a cursory look at the hint items of which there were several within the EPE of the GPS but no luck. Will have to return another time for a more leisurely and thorough approach.
Thanks anyway for introducing me to this nice reserve with which I was not familiar, things have changed quite a bit since I used to have family connections round here.

No Russell or Rustling going on, although hopefully no farmers thought we were up to that carry on while out and about with our torches!

A short holiday with my wife to this wonderful land NZ over from Australia to do some sightseeing and to catch with my mate Dunko who has been moved over here for work. We plan to do the crossing many times, enjoyed doing the cache. Thanks for the cache, made our mark..
Slink1 and co came over from Australia to do some sightseeing and to cache. A trip up the coast was in order. Slink1 reckons he'll be back for more. Thanks for the cache made our mark..
Find #4. A nice quick find on a stroll through the reserve. Must've been through here a hundred times before, but never known about it before. Found nothing worth trading. TFTC.
This puppy took us a while. Our GPS lead us all over the show, but with the MCO Geocaching team with hawke-like eyes, we found it...and pounced. Adrenalin rushed through our body as we open the lid. This was our second find ever. GEOCACHING $ LIFE!!!
Find #604. Our antepenultimate cache for the day (#11). We biked here from Short-Cut, which is relatively close by. Once inside the reserve, we dismounted from the bikes as the track got rather bumpy and narrow - but the find was quick and in a good spot. Signed the log, took a photo for our logs, and then onwards. A very quick "bike-by" in a neat reserve , with some regrowth from the forests-past. SL TFTC.
Never knew this reserve was here. I love finding new places with geocaching. TFTC
Quick find. Beautiful location. Male wombatseeker complained that mozzies were hungry
#1095 Off the ferry and headed for this cache before finding somewhere to stay nearby. Torchlight required for this one, but we were determined. Nice hide. SL. TFTC.
I guess I was the last to find it on the old coordinates (now I'll have to come back and find it all over again). Actually quite an easy find in the old location and the mozzies were a bit irksome. Had to park out at the entrance as the gate was closed so it was a pleasant walk through the bush. TFTC
Coordinates changed from:
S 40° 52.548 E 175° 03.180
Coordinates changed to:
S 40° 52.526 E 175° 03.205
Distance from original: 176.5 feet or 53.8 meters.
Have shifted to an easier to find location not so far into heavy tree cover.

It was a very nice day so I was surprised there was nobody else around to hear my rustling. TFTC.

Upon arrival at GZ, batteries in GPS died and before I had a chance to get in to search mode it was already found by a newbie of team CM. TFTC
Needed patience to get a reaosnable reading . nice container-old make up container!
A nice easy find once I found my way into the park. There are a lot of tree seedlings lined up ready for planting. Looks great.

No problems today, GPS lead me straight too it. Love it when that happens. TNLN SL TFTC
Easier to find than I was expecting, or more likely I was just lucky! No sign of the geocoin mentioned though. TFTC
Not a good start to my geocaching day! Came here at about 4.50am, with my GPS being somewhat useless and too dark to see. Decided to return later; GPS was being useless again, so I defaulted to searching as best I could! Eventually got there...TFTH!
Cheers,

A quick easy find with nzcoozer in a nice little reserve. After returning to our cars, we saw some others heading into the bush with GPS in hand. Nice to meet mumandme. We then had a picnic lunch in the reserve. TFTC

Came here on a caching expedition this afternoon - very pleasant spot that I had never been to before despite being fairly familiar with Waikanae. Found in the company of CrystalFairy, glad we had two sets of eyes as both GPSr units were wandering with the dense vegetation cover and with each of us searching separately it took close to 10 minutes to find the well-concealed cache. Signed log, TFTC!
A little detour with Little Blue Hen to let her try oiut her new Garmin 62s Gps. Worked superbly and she had it in no time. TFTCSL Took GC
Chance to try my new Garmin 62s Gps birthday present. Bkj97 no help at all as he didn't bother bringing his Garmin and left me to do all the work., T4TCSL
The cache was hidden in the place I thought it would be when I entered the trees.Thanks.
Found this cache quickly today, no hassles at GZ as it was a very quick find. TFTC TNLNSL (2128)
#1460 There were saplings everywhere waiting to be planted! This must be a very busy place during the week. Co-ordinates were spot on. Nice hide. TFTC.

Found after bit of bumbling around in the half dark. GPS was a bit wobbly. -nil, + NZUK TB.
Rustled, rustled, rustled around the bush, before finally rustling, rustling, rustling up a find in Russell reserve! Fortunately no muggles around to rustle, rustle, rustle the fun of the hunt away from us. Nice hide. TFTC.
Stealth needed today as there was a guy with a shovel working not far away. Once gps settled down, made the find. Forgot the pen, so lucky there was a pencil in the cache.
Nice hide. SL TFTC
