Looked hard. Found lots of tin sheets around but cache not where we thought it might be. tftc anyway. Very interesting location
Made it to Kalgoorlie last night and a plan of attack was hatched to claim a smiliey at all the of caches here and nearby towns with Geotrakka and Beaker. Very happy to say that this was one of them.

Hi there Team Willows - finally a chance to get out into the real country for a break from the city. Today was the trip from Southern Cross to Kalgoorlie and then on to Queen Victoria Spring via Cundelee tomorrow. We found this cache at 0526pm after a short search - and the container and log are as noted in the Fieldnotes below. TN, LN, SL. Thanks to Team Willows for this cache - the 4th of 8 finds for the day.
FieldNotes: The cache and log were both found in good condition.

Out for a 4x4 adventure with N2O Beaker and Team Red Roo. I love some of the unknown places geocaching takes me and this is another one
I found your cache Team Willows which added to my adventures. Thanks for placing it. Your cache makes my 6157 find.

Found on a solo trip to the west.
I was planning to head to Hyden directly from Norseman today, but the road was closed. Instead I thought I’d head up to Kalgoorlie then more or less west from there, picking up a few caches of interest along the way.
I was not helped by the foul weather, with some severe cold fronts, rain and winds up to 90 kph over 3 consecutive days - apparently a ’once in a year’ event. Camping has been interesting and the fuel economy pushing into those westerlies for almost 1,500 Km has been a bit of a disaster!!
While I was at Kalgoorlie I thought I’d go out to Bulong then try to get to the old cache northwest of there. However the track to that one was a bit wet to attempt today so I grabbed a couple of the nearby caches instead.
I stopped here for some lunch and the cache was a quick find.
Thanks Team Willows for the cache.

Interesting to learn about the history of this location and the size that it was.
Spent the day in Kal and headed towards Bulong to camp up for the night.
Another interesting story here!
Good on ya Hilda

With HTB2017. Difficult to believe that someone still lived here just over 30 years ago.
Travelling the back roads of Kalgoorlie with richlink, using geocaches as our guide. Lots of red tracks, corrugations and flies. We love wandering around these small ghost towns.
Thanks, Team Willows.
Thanks, Team Willows.
pug002 found it 3/11/20 , think I put 3/10/20 on the log, new month takes a few days to adjust. So sad to read of the hardships of these people. TFTC Team Willows Cliplock container damaged with no lid put log into plastic bag and put the lot in a big bucket. We did not have a cliplock container.
Found the cache, opened it and dropped all the contents. Took me ages to chase them all up and put them back. Got done and got on my way to next cache. TFTC
Hello the container lid is broken and the paper is missing so we have replaced the paper and place it in sandwich bag. A new container is needed
The Flintstones. Found it. We met Hilda 30 years ago. Lovely lady we shall never forget. TFTC.
Cache is quite waterlogged and could do with some maintenance. Interesting area. TFTC
I took a run out to Bulong today to pick up the last of the GC's in the area. I found this one at 10:55 this morning. Unfortunately, the rain has got in and the container was full of water and the log book saturated. I tried to dry things out as much as I could, but I didn't have any bits and pieces with me. Could the next visitors planning to come out here bring a couple of new ziploc bags? TNLNSL TFTC Team Willows
Found while on a short stop over in Kalgoorlie. An easy find but no longer a regular I suspect there has been a container change in the past. TFTC.
We headed back to Kalgoorlie for Christmas, and I wanted to make sure I grabbed a few caches, so we headed for Bulong.
The tin strewn around here shows that there was once a thriving population out here.
TFTC Team Willows.
Team Willows, I found your cache Hilda Jarvis on 24/12/16.
This is my find #3079 and find #4 today.

TFTC! Found during a 6-Day trip from Perth to Kalgoorlie, Esperance and back to Perth via many back roads and country towns. We found a huge number of caches, clocking up nearly 3000km for the entire trip.
The highlights of the trip have been picking up a bunch of old caches in Kalgoorlie and the surrounding towns, placed by some of Western Australia's first geocachers.
We ventured as far north as Leonora in search of our prizes even visiting a large number of ghost towns along the golden outback trail, some of the most amazing places I've seen in my life, see the pics if you want to know more.
During our trips out from Kal we think we visited nearly every gravesite or headstone in the region with the number of caches in and around cemeteries!
We completed a large amount of cache maintenance around the Kal area, with a large number of the older caches suffering with cracked lids, smashed containers, wet logs and alike. We planned to help about a dozen caches with new containers and ran out after the first couple of days. So if you're in the area please help out as best you can.
We also picked up a number of caches in Esperance placed by some of the newest cachers in the state, who seem to have so much passion and energy.
We ventured out to Cape Le Grande and picked up a few of the caches there, not quite being game enough to grab the views of hellfire cache but we grabbed all of the others we paid for our walking that night!
We even had time to place a couple of caches in my Country Cache series so please look out for them on your travels. Thanks to the locals who have kindly agreed to maintain them.
Thanks to all of the Cache owners for placing the caches that we found, hopefully you can place a few more for our next trip
Thanks
Loads of tin lying around. Would love to know more about the history of the place. I'm sure there are some tales

Went on a trip from Perth to Kalgoorlie down to Esperance and then back to Perth. Spent 6 days finding, hiding and even maintaining caches along the way.
The majority of caches were found easily and in good condition even some archived ones.
Took a few travel bugs and placed along the way.

I must admit I was a bit hesitate about going in after this one - but happy to report I saw no snakes TFTC
Think we saw the Hildas goats, huge mob of wild looking beasts. Cache all good. Took awhile to find it. Nice hiding place. TFTC
Had a day touring and geocaching around the Kalgoorlie area with Happyjacks55 and found this cache. TFTC
We enjoyed looking around the remnants of Hilda's home. Thanks for bringing us here.
Thanks for the cache we may never of came out this way if not for the caches out here. Interesting seeing the remains of the old town and the houses that once stood here. We wonder where Hilda lived the bus or the remains of a tin house near the cache. The thunder box on the top of the hill is standing the test of time and looks like it will be there for some time yet.
Found quickly while Mr LightningGEL was looking at all the leftover mining debris. TFTC
I think we may have met Hilda Jarvis when we came here in 1976. She was certainly living rough. I think I may have some photos back home. I'll have a look when I get back and post them on this log. The cache took a while to find, very well hidden, I must have searched here a couple of times. I didn't like all the prickles around the area, must wear better shoes next time.

Hilda Jarvis must have been one tough lady to live in an abandoned town like this. She probably knew many of the original residents in their day. Can't imagine it would have been easy living as she did (maybe in the old bus??) as the last resident in what was once a large town. She would have had no facilities by the look of it...no power, no water, no phones and the internet??? What the devil is that abomination
Thanks Team Willows for showing us an area we would not have seen if not for geocaching. [^][^]

As we were doing the “Hilda Jarvis Tour” (as outlined in “4WD Days in the Goldfields”), it seemed only fitting that we visit the site of the lady’s home. Was that her bus? .
What a great collection of crap. One thing we have noticed about our pioneers, the environment wasn’t high on their list of priorities .
Found the cache while my travelling companions were squirreling about among all the relics [^]. TN, left a calling card. Cheers.

Got excited when we saw all the old stuff around, even found an old newspaper from 1972. Such a shame that the only building still standing is the outback dunny. SL TNLN TFTC
Did some reptile hunting near this spot, found barking gecko, prickley gecko and a crested bicycle dragon! Will definatly be coming back out here. Thans for showing us a top spot. If you do go out here, be careful when walking through the sheets of tin, spotted afew needles and didn't have any way of disposing of them properly we'll sort it out on our next fisit. TNLN
found it last august but came out to have another look around, took Eeyore the donkey left fake $5 an $10 notes
Out this way decided to stop by as devildog wanted the teachable also windustu accompanied us
Interesting history of the past and evidence of the town scattered around. Mr Bushies2 found it easily...took a geocoin and dropped a TB. Thanks Team Willows for bringing us to a historical place and cache.
