Once again I find myself gambling (and losing) up the way. Not a lot of time tonight, but I did have a few specific geocaches I needed to find, and this was one of them. All quiet around the cache area when I arrived, and after a short search I found what I was after.---Thanks to bkj97 for placing and maintaining this geocache. I enjoy each and every cache I find, and it is only with Geocachers like this creating them and placing them out in the world that this wonderful game continues.
Easy find, though it is always entertaining coming out of the bushes after searching for a cache we've learnt that having the minis with us prevents too much suspicion lol.TFTC!
Really quick find! The entire greens were full of people looking back at us though so maximum stealth was employed. Quickly signed and returned where it came from while the youngest cacher was exercising nearby. TFTC !
Stopped by here because, well, I was going past. Found the cache on the ground. It had been chainsawed, someone had been in to give the trees a trim. The inner containers are all good, so the log is still in great condition. I returned the cache to the base (nest) of the obvious tree, probably the one that it was attached to. See photo.---I hired a car to run a bunch of errands, one of which is to solve a bunch of multis in Paraparaumu, ready for collecting on a multi-cache dot-days. So, yes, solved about 7 or 10 and confirmed their hides, but forgot to review the others I had solved here. Probably incorrectly as I had not been able to locate the caches earlier. Oh well, another trip. And of course I got a few finds. Because, well, you know, all work and no play makes a grumpy seagnoid. And yeah, we don't want a grumpy seagnoid.Rained on and off all day. Light rain, but enough that I had to wear a raincoat for the whole day.
With an event up here later it was a no brainer to head up early and enjoy some Sunday sunny morning caching. It was a gorgeous day and there was no real urgency to anything - those are great days. A well maintained cache in a great spot - enjoyable find - thank you bkj97.
Thank you, had to trek out here for hockey and picked up this little cache on the way back!
Out and about chasing numbers for the "Wheel of Challenges". Muggles mum decided to come along for the hunt, she loved it - good one!High winds, rain, thunder and lightening made this a bit of fun - dry spells happened right when we needed them!
The dark cache tricky to spot in its nest, stuck with closest co-ords. TFTC

A lot of bush crashing, probably unnecessary in the end. I never did locate this one after a 6km round walk. Annoying that.
A nice quick find. All quiet at GZ. Thanks for placing your cache.
Ms_KR and I are off for a wee break "up north" and today we cruised around the Kapiti Coast. Cyclone Gabrielle has had little effect here that I can see, though there has been a bit of wind and rain most off the day. Oh and the 6.3 earthquake last night added to the excitement.
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. .

Waitangi Day walk with the dogs. Great spot as no one was around today.
Great cache, quick find today.
Great cache, quick find today.
Nice quick find here as we are here for another cache so decided to grab this one in passing.
Nice quick find here while finding another cache in this area and having played on the playground as well.

I was nearby today, so thought I would pass by here on the way home. It took me a while to find the cache as I didn’t understand one of the hint words, and it was tricky getting amongst the greenery, partly because it was wet, but also because there were a lot of branches in the way.I was pleased to see the cache in its hiding place.
Thanks for the cache

Interesting sandwich. In NZ we would have the cheese inverted onto the ham. Anyway HS and I have been on a road trip gathering caches in your neck of the woods. Tftc.
Had 5 minutes before meeting Infoferret for some caching, so grabbed a cache Felt a bit exposed with a game on the other side of the low fence, but snuck in for a quick retrieve. Thanks bkj97!
Had to be quite stealthy as there was croquet on this morning. Trying our best but the ground was soooo crunchy underfoot. Luckily it was a quick find and we got outta of there smartly. Heading to Te Papa this morning and to visit another caching friend! TFTC
Found with mum before our days adventures in Wellington! Was quite busy here so had to dodge the muggles. TFTC
Just couldn't find it despite checking every one of them. Kids decided to go to the playground instead!
Nice and easy spot by my 6 yr old assistant who was armed with a torch. All good here. Thanks!
Headed down to Paraparaumu for a day of caching. Arrived to find lots of croquet going on and the fence a bit lower then I anticipated. Crouched down and with the specific hint soon had the cache in hand. Log all fine. Thanks for the smiley.
Quick after school find, had to avoid stepping in a massacred rabbit! Nice and dry inside.
Thanks!
Thanks!
One of four caches located during an outing to Paraparaumu today. Having completed a separate puzzle cache for which GZ is in this rather expansive park, we decided we’d endeavour to pick up this traditional cache there too. Found it more quickly than I was probably expecting to. Always glad to have the geohound (and/or Mrs tbird) with me on occasions like this – it doesn’t look quite so ‘dubious’ when I emerge from “behind the bushes”! #3599. TFTC.
Quick find with TwigNZ.
Today is a dot-day for him. Mine isn't till tomorrow but who am I to turn down a cache while I'm outside of my normal caching catchment?

This weekend I was playing host to some friends of mine - mum, dad and kids. Dad has a dot day to be filled tomorrow and I had one today. So, with the weather actually playing ball, a group of us headed to the Kapiti Coast today to find some parks for the kids to play in, and a cache for me to find.
This was the third cache we attempted together today, but the only one to be found which was just as well as I was beginning to wonder if this was going to be one one of 'those' days, but in fact this was a quick and easy find. Nice to see the triple containers to help keep the logsheet dry. It was swiftly signed and returned as found.
Thanks for the cache, and the maintenance to keep this one going and allow me to turn the previous DNF into a smiley

Good wee hiding spot. Needs a new log sheet, I've placed a strip of paper in for the mean time

The pruning and clearing along the boundary is all but completed but I will have to shift GZ. Will try and accomplish that this week as long as the workers aren't hacking and slashing.
Roadworks and council prunings are nearing completion so hopefully a replacement will occur soon.
Found the cache just lying on the ground, it's very squashed and rusty, bottom missing. Also found stake nearby knocked over, I leant it up against a tree. Managed to retrieve and sign the log. Hid nearby under a log as I think the original tree has been cut down. Needs maintenance.

I was hoping for a quick park and grab here today, but sadly it was not to be.
Firstly, having found the Green Metal Vertical Structure, moving 2m West from there would put me in the access road! So I figured that the cache would most likely be in the bushes 2m from the Post. But reading previous logs it seems there is some confusion as to just how many logs are there at the moment, and their relative condition.
I had no luck searching around, but considering there has been some ground clearance work done here recently (see attached photo) and there were many people coming and going due to sports fixtures I have to admit that I may have just missed this one rather than there is an actual problem.
No doubt I will be back at some stage to have another stab at it

Unable to write on log as pen packed up.
Container was found damaged, missing lid and definitely not attached to tree/branch.
Have replaced at base of tree where I found it

I made myself a plan to get all the souvenirs in the Cache Carnival that is going on that the moment. The idea is to celebrate geocaching creativity and diversity around the world!
And at the same time earn up to five souvenirs inspired by historic carnival locations by collecting points. The carnival ends on 14 April 2019 and I am logging this now to confirm how many points I have collected before the time expires.
However, as happens from time to time, other things got in the way. I was horrendously busy at work and all three of my kids had a big week of school and sporting activities in the last week of the school term. I still managed to get out and find a cache each day but I got a bit behind (and I still am) with logging all my finds on the website.
I am sorry to all the cache owners whose caches I visited during this time because it is likely you're getting a generic, cut and paste log without much (if any) detail about the state of your cache.
I have been here once before to have a look. This time I used the hint and found it quite quickly. Sounds like there might be two containers here because the one I found was in good condition - all nice and dry.
Thank you

Managed to find 2. One was rusted shut and the other had a log. Almost full with only 1 space left.
6th of the day and a difficult one to find. Only after finding the cache did I find the wooden atke. Both containers were there and I signed the one on top. TFTC.
Cache has been muggled. Found under tree, with only the pencil inside. Unfortunately we didn’t have any paper to create a new log. Maybe the next super seeker might. Added bacon and put back up at head height
found ok after staring at the wrong tree for a while, hint helped. As previously reported the cache is missing its lid.
Straightforward, but as the previous cacher reports, it does need some maintenance, TFTC
I ended up in this area by accident so I figured I might as well get a cache or two while I'm here. A very short walk from the carpark and a moderately quick find at GZ. It's like an eclipse tin graveyard here; one strapped to the tree, one on top of it, one on the ground. The one strapped to the tree is in the worst condition but it's the one with the log! TFTC.
Rusty eclipse tins seem to be everywhere in this suburb! I found two camo ones in the tree - signed the log in one of them, and one new eclipse nearby containing just a pencil. Maybe this is a cache-breeding tree??
A fairly obvious one if you look in the right place. A bit hard to open though. The talk of toasted sanies made me hungry. Time for lunch.
Thanks bkj97
This one made me feel a bit dodgy - disappearing into the bushes for a few minutes
But a cache is a cache, and this one was nice and dry as its double bagged and double eclipsed

No problem finding the cache - the hint is clear and detailed - but I actually found two. One is as the hint describes; the other (resting on top) is a replacement cache dating from 2012, I think. I signed the log in the replacement just below a 2015 entry.
I had a go at grabbing this one a couple of months back. I thought it would be easy and straightforward to do without my GPS so I left it in the car. It was dark as well so I failed on both counts. I was in the area today so decided to have another go. A bit easier this time and I eventually found it. There was two containers - both the same, but one was attached to the tree and the other was just sitting on top. Wasn't sure what the story was here so pulled out the log from the attached one and signed that one. TFTC
#4167. We came up to Paraparaumu tonight to help Eric celebrate his history making feat - the first New Zealand cacher to streak for 1500 days in a row. After the event and meal we came out looking for a few local caches. This was one of them Infoferret had found this before which helped as I was looking in all the wrong spots when the cache was sighted in the torchlight. Took a bit of signing with 3 containers in situ. But got there eventually. All good here. Thanks for the cache.
Difficult but got in the end, well hidden, dont attempt this one if your wearing nice clothesss
